Oh my god, Bunch - that oozing brie and the crusty bread.... I'm actually drooling at my desk. Might need to get myself something nice.... Can't wait until I can have that.

shelbTa · 23/08/2016 16:41

Bloody hell miley! What did midwife say last time you rang? I forget.

Bunch that looks incredible!! You deserve it.

X

AudreyBradshaw · 23/08/2016 16:51

bunch that looks amazing!
miley I also can't remember what your midwife said, but if you're concerned, I definitely think you should save some on a tissue and phone again. I'm sorry your bum hurts, but yay for pooing.Flowers

I'm mot sure if I'm making much sense, awful weekend of no sleep, too hot, no appetite, what I think are braxton hicks but I'm not sure, and no appetite. Dh went to see him family, arrived 1am and walked in on BIL passed out drunk with a belt around his neck attached to the radiator. I wasn't there, but he rang me through the night. Ambulance etc, didn't take him as he woke up and refused help and trotted off to bed . Had the cheek to shake dh awake and ask for a lift to his girlfriends at 7am. That amongst other things and I'm SO glad dh is on his way back now. Going for a shower and a deep breathe after cleaning house top to bottom.

leoniethelioness · 23/08/2016 17:03

Oh my goodness, Audrey. Sorry to hear about BIL. Has BIL been to see his GP now? That's really worrying behaviour. Hope your DH is OK - it must have been an awful shock.

LillianFullStop · 23/08/2016 17:16

miley I also have the pleasure of a sore and bleeding bum Confused. but it does have to come out you're right the longer you leave it the worse it gets. more of the mucus plug?! I hope you managed to save some so you can show the midwife this time.

audrey sounds like a stressful weekend for you and DH Sad has BIL done anything like this before? I hope he agrees to see someone.

AudreyBradshaw · 23/08/2016 17:36

I sounds like the absolute horror of horrors but BIL is an alcoholic, substance abusing, abusive, self centred, narcissistic, manipulative bastard. He likely "set the scene" with the belt but then got so wasted he actually passed out. Usually he does his mock suicide attempts away from the home (texts everyone then goes and hides somewhere, then reappears a few hours later when everyone is frantic, police, dogs etc all out), so he either did it specifically to shit dh up (they fell out over BIL being arrested for criminal damage/assault on the last girlfriend a couple of months ago (he's changed girlfriend twice since) when he walked in, or he was trying to avoid going to court the next day. It's common for him to be voluntarily sectioned for a few days when he's got a court date. Dh's eldest brother committed suicide 4 years ago, and it was dh who had to identify his body, so this will have shook him terribly. He thought he was dead when he walked in.

He's got problems obviously, nobody "well" or sound of mind would do what he does, but he always manages to recover enough to suit himself.

I have no time for BIL, I'd have him sectioned and have social services involved (he lives with MIL who is 70 and has early dementia) but because SIL doesn't want MIL in an assisted living facility (because then BIL would be homeless and would expect to live with SIL and SIL isn't well herself so couldn't be full time carer for MIL) and we live too far away for it to be an option to live with us. It's a cycle. I just keep my mouth shut and try and support dh as best as I can. It's like Jeremy kyle though.

Sodasoda · 23/08/2016 17:38

Thanks for bra tips pink!

Bunch that looks amazing! We have some great quality steaks in the freezer along with a posh bottle of red which DH had promised me we can enjoy once baby is here. I've really missed rare steak!

I'm also drinking Diet Coke. I'm having de-caf tea but was never a coffee drinker anyway. Some caffeine is fine though so definitely have a cup if you need one hep
*
Audrey* that sounds really stressful.

Miley sorry about the poo. I'm also horribly constipated and have convinced myself that giving birth CAN'T be more painful than having a big poo. --I'm definitely in denial l

It's so hot here and travelling on tube is awful. 3 more days of work this week, 4 next week. COME ON!!

LisaTheSimpson · 23/08/2016 17:41

Christ alive, Stardrey. What a mess.

Your poor OH, having to deal with all this. It sounds like your BIL definitely needs some help (though assume it would be resisted and has been in the past?).

LisaTheSimpson · 23/08/2016 17:44

Soda - it's stifling in London today, isn't it. It's supposed to be the same tomorrow as well, around 29 degrees.

My train is hot, so god knows what your tube is like. I've now got a hand fan to carry around with me - makes such a difference.

AudreyBradshaw · 23/08/2016 18:01

He's a self destructive mess soda lisa it's just such a shame, he's been offered help multiple times, CBT, grief therapy etc, but he won't commit to a full psychological assessment because they'd want to admit him for a fortnight/three weeks/month plus (he'd have to dry out before they can assess him without him supplementing, he's hidden drugs on him/had them smuggled in when he's admitted himself prior, so they can never make a proper diagnosis) regarding his mental health issues as the drugs mask/exaserbate depending on what he's drunk/taken.

Been offered rehab, but he won't go, and we can't force him. He doesn't think he has a problem, he goes on/off his mood stabilisers so is never fully balanced. As well as using all sorts of other drugs. It will never change until he has some therapy and tackles the core issues. And he likes his life as it is. So it will just continue.

That felt really cathartic to type out!

Mileymoocow · 23/08/2016 18:05

Wow audrey that is absolutely horrendous! Your poor, poor DH Sad at least he has you and bumpy to come home to Flowers sounds utterly horrendous though and definitely stress you could do without!

shelb she just basically told me not to worry, that it can be perfectly normal and only to call if it's followed up by fluid or contractions. Gross as it sounds I did take a photo as I had taken my pad out when I was convinced yesterday was a 1 off Hmm

soda it's awful isn't it! I never imagined being constipated could be the reason I feel so bloody poorly! I've been to pick my lactolose prescription up so hopefully it will help. Maybe ask your doctor for some if you're having it really bad too Sad

leonie we have the wet wipes too Blush I was so tempted to put a squit of lube up there to see if that would help! Desperate times and all that. You too lillian hopefully we can find comfort soon!!

Danni89 · 23/08/2016 18:08

Can it be winter already?! Sweaty Betty comes to mind

Sounds awful audrey, poor guy needs help

Sorry for those with sore bums

Nothing to report here, midwife tomorrow and a birthing relaxation class at my birthing centre

Hope everyone is doing ok

Feefeefs · 23/08/2016 19:12

You don't want two people to look after Lillian!

Glad it's only two weeks co5mo hope it goes quickly for you.

Fingers crossed shelbta.

That's crap miley hope it eases up again soon.

Sorry about the hips leonie feel your pain.

Ugh Elle I have the frizzy fluffy hair too it's driving me mad! Normally thick hair so just thought it would get a bit thicker but just frizzy! Hairdresser next weekend for me!!

Enjoy your scan hep!

I have 2 instant coffees a day or 1 "real" coffee no tea I don't like it.

Sounds awful stardrey.

Lost out on another house SadSadI'm blue

BunchOfBobs · 23/08/2016 20:10

Stardrey that sounds so utterly awful for your DH. So sorry.

Oh my look at the gorgeous sneak peek we got of today's photo shootSmileGrin

Mileymoocow · 23/08/2016 20:25

bunch he is perfect ❤ beautiful photos. I really do love the newborn shoots! We have outs bought already and have to book it in as soon as baby is born!

danni I'm with you. I can't wait for the cold weather! It's far too hot

feef that's crap Sad the right one will come along at the right time though! Have you seen any others you like?

Pinklily1 · 23/08/2016 20:35

Bunch, those photos are brilliant! I hadn't thought about a newborn photo shoot but might look into it now.

I'm jealous of your pate etc. Pate and sushi are on my list of things to eat once baby has arrived.

Miley, anymore mucus plug? Sorry to hear of the poo woes.

Sorry to hear about the house Feefs. Have you seen any others you like?

Hi dannii. Hope your class tomorrow goes well.

Audrey, that sounds awful. I hope your OH isn't too traumatised having found him like that.

Soda, not long to go now! The count down to finishing work is amazing!

Danni89 · 23/08/2016 20:47

Wow those pictures are adorable bunch I really want a newborn photoshoot now

Mileymoocow · 23/08/2016 20:56

Oh pink sushi! I can't wait for that either. I have had a couple of medium rare steaks after reading up about bacteria etc and I've also had runny eggs! (The ones with the lion stamp are supposed to be fine). Naughty mammy. No more plug thankfully, thanks for asking. Had to convince OH it's fine to go to the football on Saturday and I won't go into labour any time soon! At least for 3.5 weeks anyway.

Feefeefs · 23/08/2016 21:06

Awww bunch. Super cute.

There are no houses pink!!! Sad also I eat sushi at least once a week, NHS says it's fine

HepKestrel · 23/08/2016 21:07

bunch wow! Lovely photo!

leoniethelioness · 23/08/2016 21:18

I think some sushi is OK. I've not had any all year though.

Making DH cuddle baby's soft toy fox tonight so it smells of him...

Great photos! Sent off a bunch of emails about newborn photos this morning!

ElleSarcasmo · 23/08/2016 21:46

Haha Leonie, sounds like you're in for an awkward weekend! Hopefully they'll get over themselves.

Bunch love the photoshoot pictures! They are just gorgeous. Seriously want a photoshoot now. Plus a newborn!

I really fancied sushi Miley so I went as far as buying rice, seasoning, nori and a mat and making some! I made tuna mayo and avocado rolls, pretty good if I say so myself and quite easy too. Best of all DH rejected it (not a sushi lover) so I got to eat it all! I believe it's safe as long as the fish is frozen first, there's nowhere decent near me anyway so it hasn't been hard to avoid.

Feefs if I find the secret to normal hair I'll let you know! I've just resigned myself to it now.

Wet wipes are genius! I'm getting me some of those. If I don't drink 2 litres of water a day minimum I get really constipated. Not cool! Sad

Sodasoda · 23/08/2016 22:10

Miley - Ive got some lactulose. I've taken it now and again but it gives me stomach cramps so trying to only use it when I'm REALLY desperate!

Lisa - yes, the tube is absolutely horrendous. I could work from home but our flat is stifling - I'd prefer to have an hour of hell on the tube to sit in an air conditioned office!

Bunch those pics are gorgeous!

Yes pink am so on the countdown now! Can't wait! Am so not bothered about work, it make me feel a bit guilty...

Leonie and hep lots of luck with scans tomorrow.

IndiX · 23/08/2016 22:31

Aahh bunch those photos are absolutely gorgeous! I've been recommended a newborn photographer, I'm going to get in touch with her tomorrow actually I keep meaning to book in.

I don't know who mentioned Brie before but tesco and aldi do a pasturised Brie that I discovered this weekGrin also Castello cheese is pasteurised too! I've also had sushi a couple of times, no raw tuna but I've had smoked salmon throughout pregnancy and prawns.

Good luck with scans tomorrow Leonie and hep! I'm sure everything will be perfect.

Audrey sorry to hear about your BIL. I don't think you're a horror at all, it's sad that he feels the need to do the things he does but that doesn't mean you have to like him or feel any sympathy towards him. I hope your DH is ok.

My bones ache tonight, I don't know whether I've done too much in the gym or I'm just achey. My hips, pelvis and back feel like an old lady.

I've been quite naughty with the odd bit of goats cheese too but I have cut out caffiene and alcohol so I'm sure a bit of cheese won't harm. I've also had sushi a couple of times, no raw tuna but I've had smoked salmon and prawns throughout pregnancy.
