Hep Do yourself a favour and have a coffee! I think my midwife said you can have five cups of tea a day or two coffees. I tend to drink decaff tea and coffee most of the day but I love a Nespresso or a Diet Coke/Coke. Just be sensible about how much caffeine you consume - there's no need to cut it out completely.

Can you book any days off?

What time is your scan? My (35 week growth) scan is at 8.30 - nice and early! I think I took two pregnancy tests and kept them both. Well, two positive ones after days of BFNs!!

leoniethelioness · 23/08/2016 10:17

Oh, and I'd definitely ask the insurers about cover while pregnant!

Mileymoocow · 23/08/2016 10:28

pink I'm not as nauseous but I've completely lost my appetite. I'm wondering if it's the tail of the infection I've had...

hep I don't think you need to tell them you're pregnant! Hopefully the fatigue eases - it did for me for a while but I'm exhausted again now Sad

Pinklily1 · 23/08/2016 10:58

Hopefully that's what it is Miley and it will pass.

Hep, you need to check with the airline but usually airlines and insurers don't need to know unless you are over a certain number of weeks pregnant (I flew at 30&31 weeks and needed a doctors note and to tell the insurers).

Mileymoocow · 23/08/2016 11:04

Just to say hep I agree with Leonie - I have had 2 cups of tea a day just about every day. You're allowed to have a certain amount of caffeine a day (200mg though in America studies have been done that prove 300mg is safe as houses).

pink how's maternity leave? No more symptoms that baba may be here soon?

HepKestrel · 23/08/2016 11:11

leonie i haven't given up caffeine entirely, I have reduced down to 2 cups of tea a day or 1 coffee+ 1 tea. But i used to drink about 5 ! Maybe i can just be better at timing my caffeine doses...

i took a day off last week as it was pointless trying to work. Working from home today. Some days i'm fine ! and then the next i've been hit by a brick again.

my scan is 2pm tomorrow. OH is booking half a day off work to join me. I'm a little nervous, but hoping everything is ok so we can start telling family and close friends. We'll have to be careful though, as many of our friends work in the same field as me.... I would prefer not to have work find out for another month, until my annual review.

miley hope you feel better soon! I'm sure the infection and lack of appetite isn't helping your energy levels.

I have to say, OH is being lovely. He is always gonna be completely unromantic, but he is being practical and supportive on lots of little ways.

Mileymoocow · 23/08/2016 11:27

Glad to hear hep - it really helps to have an understanding OH. Mine ran up the stairs this morning to hold my hair and rub my back when he heard me barf then told me I need to start my maternity leave early. I'm not going to - I still have 4 weeks left at work but it's sweet of him to look after me.

BunchOfBobs · 23/08/2016 12:47

Pink I'm very happy not to look ha. The oozing is enough to see.
Definitely. He's a right little grunter/snorer/purrer the lot! DH finds it really hard to sleep through. I can sleep through it all and the moment the noises change to him being hungry I'm wide awake. Mother Nature is useful.

Just had our newborn photo shoot. I cannot wait to see the pictures .

Good luck with the scans Hep and Leonie.

shelbTa · 23/08/2016 13:20

Afternoon

Good luck with scans hep and leonie.

Hep - I've been have two cups of either tea or coffee a day, as I honestly don't think I'd have been able to work otherwise.

Pink - no it was clear jelly, very odd texture. Back to bone dry now. How you feeling? My coccyx are killing but that's it.

Waves to everyone.

X

leoniethelioness · 23/08/2016 14:00

Thank you. 😀😀😀

I'm sure it'll be fine but I am worried. I'm glad DH is coming with me. Can't help but feel like I've done something wrong.

Thoroughly bored today. Trying to get on top of cleaning and tidying but having to have a rest on the sofa after vacuuming while my co-codamol kicks in. 😣🙁😔😭

Can't believe baby will be here in 2 to 7 weeks (34+6 today). I hope he doesn't make me wait too long as I'm sure I'd have more fun with some company - even the the cats are outside or upstairs away from me!

LillianFullStop · 23/08/2016 14:11

Goodluck on the scans hep and leonie! Yay to 2-5 weeks to go leonie! I have a fetal wellbeing scan in 2 weeks (I'll be 33w). Checking on baby but more to check my placenta has moved well out of the way of cervix.

my bellybutton also looks like a cats bum too (freaks DH out though!) and sticking to 1 coffee a day and a herbal/decaf tea in the evening.

Miley yes doting DHs are great - sat on the couch with a dejected face the other night sad because i didn't get to order dessert at dinner (my friend's 2.5 year old had a potty accident so we had to quickly finish our meal and get the bill) - and he promptly handed me a tub of ice cream and a spoon to attack it with. Grinhappy wife!

Bunch I would just laugh at a baby making goat noises! Reminds me my friends daughter did the same and it worried her so much she called the maternity hotline and made them listen to it over the phone!

BunchOfBobs · 23/08/2016 14:16

Lillian it cracks us up every time. I Can understand the worry some people get though as you're told to listen out for grunting in the first few days home. DH is paranoid about every noise at night time still.

Mileymoocow · 23/08/2016 14:29

bunch that has been one of the main pieces of advice I've been given - "babies make funny noises, it's usual so try not to panic!" Goat noises sound so much more exciting than I was expecting Grin

Lillian that was really nice of your DH! I sometimes wonder if mine is doing it just so he doesn't have to face the dreaded preg rage.

Brilliant your LO will be here so soon leonie I'm just over a week behind you and it's pretty terrifying but mainly exciting to think how close we actually are!! Months of frustration TTC, 9 months of freaking out continuously and now a full lifetime of worrying ahead!

LillianFullStop · 23/08/2016 14:30

So funny your poor DH! I guess we get 9 months of listening and feeling every wiggle and nudge from LO so we're more relaxed about it by now - whereas this would be the first time for them Smile

LillianFullStop · 23/08/2016 14:31

You're right miley sounds like a preventative measure lol!

BunchOfBobs · 23/08/2016 14:58

Definate lifetime of worry. I'm currently very protective of Atticus over bugs. Never have I hated them so much. How dare a fly land on my son!!!

Pinklily1 · 23/08/2016 15:28

Maternity leave is good Miley. I'm an early riser anyway but it's lovely knowing that I don't have to get up at a set time in the morning and can just potter about during the day.

No more signs of baby making an appearance unfortunately. I've got another pineapple to eat later Grin

I've been having decaf tea occasionally, once every few weeks. I used to be a big tea drinker but have really gone off it in pregnancy. I have Diet Coke if we go out anywhere though.

Leonie, it's scary and exciting all at once when you get into single figures in terms of the number of weeks you have left.

Bunch, I think my OH will struggle to sleep through the night too when baby arrives and is making noises. He's a light sleeper. Did you manage to get out to register Atticus' birth the other day?

I'm 39 weeks today and currently sat roasting on the sofa, it's really warm here today.

BunchOfBobs · 23/08/2016 15:35

Pink I made the appointment for Friday as they had none for that day. Annoyingly it's just a declaration and they have to post stuff off as he was born in a different county to where we live and we can't be arsed driving up there yet again (with all the hospital trips) to register him and get the certificate the same day. I'm fine it being posted out.
We did finally register him at the GP though.
It's super warm here too so me and the little man are having some skin on skin time on the sofa whilst DH is making me a cheese feast snack. I finally have my appetite back so it's a pate and cheese party. Cannot wait!!

BunchOfBobs · 23/08/2016 15:43

Oh em gee!!

Thread #10 - TTC#1 Grads Thread - Babies Ahoy
HepKestrel · 23/08/2016 15:48

oh bunch thats cruel !!! i have ~ 6 more months of no nice cheeses ....... Sad

alright alright ..... you've earned it Wink

(makes note to ask OH to organise a pate/cheese fest for me in feb*)

BunchOfBobs · 23/08/2016 15:48

I'm so sorry, how cruel am I. Most people can't eat that and I'm super teasing you all. I'm so sorry. Blush

Mileymoocow · 23/08/2016 15:57

bunch don't be sorry! You've done your 9 months Grin you have more than earned it!

I think I've just shit my entire intestine out. Tried for a poo - it wouldn't come and was stuck. So uncomfortable I resigned myself to terrible piles and went to sit back down because it just had to come out. My poor little butthole is on fire! Blush genuinely checked the toilet incase it was an actual baby!

Glad you're enjoying maternity leave pink! It is bloody ridiculous how hot it is. I'm just home now and am already lying on my bed with the fan on! Are you getting sick of pineapple yet? Try a curry! We need more babies Grin

LillianFullStop · 23/08/2016 15:58

Omg bunch cheese and pate!! Your DH is absolute gold!!!

Mileymoocow · 23/08/2016 15:59

Oh and I've also had some more lovely mucus plug come away! I wish it would bloody stop.

leoniethelioness · 23/08/2016 16:20

Oh, Miley! Flowers

I swear by the Andrex wet wipes at the moment to keep my bits clean and stop them getting sore Blush from all the trips to the loo
