Give your midwife a call Miley, see what she says. Don't panic though I'm sure everything will be fine

Mileymoocow · 22/08/2016 13:51

Oh my God indi that is so so so exciting!!! The day before my little one is due so we could have a double arrival if I go a day early!!

Sodasoda · 22/08/2016 13:52

Great news on your appointment date indi!
*
Miley* give the midwife a call if you're concerned but I wouldn't worry too much. How much was it? I have stuff every time I wipe and in my knickers and sometimes it feels like a LOT! Also at our NCT class they said the mucus plug could come out gradually or all at once but didn't necessarily mean labour was imminent.

Pink hope you haven't got a bug. And yes, do let me know about your nursing bras!

Lisa I haven't really had the tiredness at any point through pregnancy that people talk about. I've been going to bed at normal time generally - 11-midnight ish. Don't worry though, I've had other horrible symptoms to make up for lack of tiredness Wink

Midwife appt this morning was good and talked through birth plan. Baby's head not engaged at all though so no early arrival from me! I'm 36+5 today. Had a whole load of baby stuff delivered this morning which was exciting! Working from home today but I really can't be bothered so am basically watching tv and replying to any emails that are sent to me so I look busy Grin

Mileymoocow · 22/08/2016 13:59

Soda I'd say at least a couple of table spoons - I had to wipe 4 times with a couple of lumps about the size of a marble in it. Blush there wasn't any blood in it though. I think I'll wait to see if any more comes out then give my midwife a call if it happens again. I made the terrible mistake of googling it and had a little panic. 33+2 is too early!

BunchOfBobs · 22/08/2016 14:03

Miley your show regenerates, you can start to lose it weeks before and it be fine. I'd just mention it next time to the midwife unless you begin to lose more.

I'm off to hospital at 6 this evening for a Drs check. DH is super happy as means finally things are being seen to. I'm dreading what they'll do.

Mileymoocow · 22/08/2016 14:16

At least you're getting somewhere bunch and hopefully will be on the mend. I know it won't sound appealing though Sad

potato mentioned the last time I had some come away it could replenish itself too. I think I just panicked when I saw how much there was Blush I'm sure it's completely normal and I pinky promise I'm done with Dr Google Grin

shelbTa · 22/08/2016 14:59

Miley - was it you saying people
Had said you me bump has dropped? How many weeks are you? X

DrWhy · 22/08/2016 15:02

Congratulations New and Potatoes I hope you are enjoying newborn cuddles along with all the feeding and nappies!

I'm on maternity leave - hurrah! It's such a relief 🙂 Had the in-laws here at the weekend and they helped out a lot with the garden which was great but I do still feel I should be hosting and making a good impression whatever they say so it was fairly exhausting. They are also very keen walkers and I probably pushed myself a bit too hard on the first day, although the double takes from other walkers were amusing when they realised there was a heavily pregnant person on their way up the hill! I did end up with so much pelvic pain that when we got home I had to lay down because I couldn't even sit - oops Blush
This morning I had a lie in and met up with another pregnant friend who has a nearly 2 year old. We basked in very unusual sunshine at a play park and farm and I'm now feeling stunningly lazy, need to at least get a bit of housework done and the birth plan written.
I've had a look back at the last couple of pages but I'm sorry I can't remember everyone to reply properly. Someone was talking about DTD, we've slightly reduced frequency but DH is still very keen, he seems to find the bump very sexy Hmm so don't worry too much that your OH will be put off. We've discovered that quite a few positions still work (I'm 37+5), standing or keeling with him behind me, on my side with a pillow under the bump or even me on top - as long as he makes all the effort! Sorry if that's TMI but it's definitely still possible.
Miley your show definitely can regenerate but if you are concerned just give your midwife a call they'll probably just reassure you over the phone better than we can and definitely better than Dr Google!
Oh, and having not been sick at all in the first trimester I'm now getting nauseous fairly frequently. The midwife says it's mainly the baby squashing my organs including my stomach, sitting on the ball with my knees below my hips or kneeling over it, even just standing up can help. I've also found its worse if I don't drink enough or eat regularly - hope that helps other people feeling the same.
I'm not at all sure this baby is going to be on time, despite all my walking and stuff I get very few Braxton Hicks, he's not dropped yet and no sign of me making any colostrum. Still, I'll wait and see Smile our MLU is open again after much drama of it being closed due to staff shortages and then refused a home birth due to PPH risk so hopefully I still have a shot at getting the pool if the little one turns up roughly on time.

Mileymoocow · 22/08/2016 15:03

shelb yeah it was me but I can't see it myself. The only difference I've noticed is that I don't get heartburn anymore and I can breathe a little better. I'm only 33+2

shelbTa · 22/08/2016 15:21

I'd give em a ring miley - takes two mins and then job done X

shelbTa · 22/08/2016 15:26

Good luck tonight bunch re the stitches X

LillianFullStop · 22/08/2016 15:30

bunch I hope drs appointment goes well and that they can finally get to the bottom of the issue and get you on some stronger antibiotics to kick this infection. Poor you being put through so much in the last few days FlowersFlowers. I know it must be getting you down but hopefully there's light at the end of the tunnel. Thanks for sharing your experience with us and don't feel worry about scaring us - we're here to listen so vent away!!!

potato arya is looking so cuddly and adorable!!! thanks for all the new mum tips. It will just be me and DH as we don't have family around so this all helps!!

miley I hope you get some reassurance from the midwife and yes let's hope just a show that will re-form. tell your LO to stay put to cook some more!

soda your WFH days sound a bit like mine Grin

re:DTD I'm thinking I should make more of an effort from my 8th month as I read regular activity keeps the pelvic floor muscles flexible and strong for labour - esp with orgasms. Just not in the mood at all with hip and back pains and being so tired and awkward all the time! And who knows how long before I'm brave enough to let anyone near there post-birth!!!

Is anyone looking at breast pumps? A friend swears by the Mandela double electric - but its upwards of £230!!!

DrWhy · 22/08/2016 16:10

Lillian the single electric Mandela swing was on offer in Mothercare recently - it might be worth checking if it still is. I then signed up to their club/mailing list and got a general money off voucher. It let me combine them and I think I got it with the 'starter pack' stuff for about £80. The Amazon price wasn't much more so worth shopping about.

Mileymoocow · 22/08/2016 16:59

Thanks shelb! And lillian little one has been told to stay where they are for at least another 3 weeks or else! I'm pretty sure it's all ok though - called my midwife and she said it should be fine, that it doesn't necessarily mean that labour is imminent and if it continues then I need to wear a pad to catch it so I can show her it when I go in to be examined! Ew. So glad I'm not a midwife Grin I just love a good panic every now and again Hmm really doesn't help when I've had ramped up BHs and some period pain again though!

Mileymoocow · 22/08/2016 17:02

dr yay for maternity leave! I'm slightly jealous. Also thank you for the reassurance re sickness. It's a bit shit that you've managed so far without it (especially seeing as though you have a phobia if I remember rightly?) and it's managed to catch you. Imagine if it was straight forward though Wink

PotatosMum · 22/08/2016 17:07

Elle yes, the video monitor and motion sensor are separate units. I got mine on Amazon but her is a link to the one I got http://www.babysecurity.co.uk/babysense-5-breathing-monitor-motorola-mbp36s.html?gclid=CPWA39HR1M4CFWgq0wodpKgJbQ

I haven't tried the video monitor yet but I think it's the same one a few of us have.

Bleeding has been fine. In fact it's already reduced to normal mid to late period levels. You do need to make sure you keep changing pads every couple of hours at least but that's more about keeping the area very clean and as dry as possible. It's also a good idea to have a bath or shower once or twice a day just to keep things very clean.

Indi yay for section date! Smile Trust me, when you finally have your baby the "did I do the right thing question will melt away"

Bunch could have been a different model I looked at. I just remember lots of people reviewing it to say it was a faff Confused
Arya usually sleeps fairly solidly until midnight then she wants a bottle and change every 2 to 3 hours after that. If she keeps that routine I'll be happy enough Smile

I hope they manage to get your stitches sorted out. I don't envy you in the least, it must be really miserable Sad

Miley it might be show but don't panic! Lots of people lose bits of it but it grows back. As long as there's no blood and it isn't a nasty colour it's fine.

Dr yay on mat leave!!! Grin do try not to break yourself keeping up with others though.

I started writing this post this morning and have only just got around to finishing it.

Second midwife appointment done. They checked my blood pressure and temperature. Felt my tummy to see where my uterus is and offered to check my stitches again. They they weighed Arya who is amazing and has bucked all trends and put on just over an ounce in weight Grin midwife says she and I are both looking really healthy Smile

I've now got my blood pressure tablets and have been warned to spend tomorrow relaxing as they may make my blood pressure go the other way in which case I'll be woozy and could pass out. I've also discovered I have piles Sad not impressed but it explains why poop hurts Hmm

Went out with Arya again this time to get paint for her nursery that I'm hoping to start this week Smile Arya decided that this was a good time to completely freak out in the store and be totally inconsolable. I felt like the worse mummy ever and when we got home I couldn't bring myself to stop cuddling her for 2 hours. Just a warning, being unable to do anything about your baby screaming makes you feel horrible, I couldn't care less if she was annoying anyone else I just wanted to comfort her.
As a result I'm going to send OH on the IKEA trip we had planned with DSS as assistance instead of trekking all that way with Arya. Maybe IKEA can be back on the menu in a few months.

Hope you're feeling better today leonie. I have been using lots of pantyliners for a couple of weeks now!! Loads of stuff all the time!

Glad everything is going well potatoe.

You should read the chapter on induction in "expecting better" pink. I found it helpful.

Yay indi! 7th of October is a nice date!

Congratulations on maternity leave drwhy!

24 weeks today. Not enjoying pregnancy at all never have! Have to just take each day as it comes which does get me down.

My friend in London get going on and on and ON about how it's the happiest she's ever seen me?Hmm strange.

My parents want to come for a month around the babies birth I'm really happy about it. It might seem mad to some! I'm normally very independent but I really want them there. They are also super independent so will do there own thing too. Also saw Physio today for PGP and got a support belt and excercises and stuff. Belt seems to be helping so far.

shelbTa · 22/08/2016 17:59

Evening ladies

Had really strong braxton hicks waves for about two hours now at front of tum only though. So frustrating not knowing if it's going to lead anywhere!!

X

Canters15 · 22/08/2016 18:08

Pleased to report that work went well, everyone was lovely and my back held out. elle I am so impressed you're still operating, I did a year as a surgical SHO and found theatre hard enough....can't imagine doing it pregnant I clearly was not cut out to be a surgeon

So happy you have a date for your section indi!! Funnily enough 7th oct is when I am seeing the consultant to get my date! There's something so nice about knowing you're not going to go overdue.

I am with all who are hating pregnancy. Yes it's a miracle, but it's a bloody uncomfortable one. I am desperate for my body back, my boobs are humongous, I hate them and just want to wear fashionable clothes again. Then I feel bad for not being all earth mother about it, but I suppose that was never going to be me!

Sorry about the sickness dr but yay for mat leave!

Mileymoocow · 22/08/2016 18:17

shelb I'm thinking this might be it! I've got a feeling Wink positive thoughts sent your way!

potato all brilliant news - great your midwife commented you both look well! She's a credit to you - an absolute peach Grin shame about your piles but soooooo worth it!

feef I feel guilty for not enjoying it but if I have to be told I'm round or blooming one more time I might cry! Some people really do breeze through and I'm happy for them I'm not happy for them, I hate them but I feel like all I do is complain and I don't even feel bad it's that bloody horrendous Grin PGP sounds utterly horrendous though Sad I'm glad your parents are coming to help and you're happy about it!

Pinklily1 · 22/08/2016 18:46

Soda, the nursing bras arrived today. The Anita ones are great, very supportive. I'm keeping the one which is my usual back size two cup sizes up from my current pregnancy cup size, so there is room for a bit of growth. The Heidi Klum ones are really pretty and more supportive than I imagined for a non-wired bra, but they are smaller fitting and I don't think they will contain me if my boobs get any bigger, so they are going back.

Indi, that is so exciting! Do they always do it at about 39 weeks or did you chose that date specifically? The later I'm getting in pregnancy, the more I wish I just knew when baby was going to come!

Bunch, I hope the hospital visit goes well and that if you need anything doing they are able to do it this evening.

Potato, I'm glad Arya is sleeping well. It sounds like you are all doing great.

Yeah to maternity leave Dr! I've not had leaky nipples either, i'm hoping its not a sign that milk won't come when baby arrives.

Fingers crossed baby stays put for at least a few weeks longer Miley.

Re breast pumps - we are going to get the Medela single electric pump I think, which is about £135 in most places. I couldn't bring myself to buy a double one, partly because of the price but partly because I'm already worried enough that I'm going to feel like a cow when I'm expressing milk, and a double pump is just a step too far for me Grin

Feefs, hopefully the band etc will help with the pain. Its good your parents are visiting too - how far away do they live normally?

Shelb, any progress? I was convinced I was going to go into labour overnight last night after all my back pain yesterday, but nothing happened Hmm

Glad to hear work went well today Canters. Hopefully your back will improve (or at least not get worse!).

Feefeefs · 22/08/2016 18:54

That's exactly how I feel canters just feel ugly and a bit unmotivated to do anything about it wish I could be more earth mother!! And then feel guilty about that. There was some kind of pregnancy class going on while I was waiting for the Physio and they all looked so pretty and stylish!!

Thanks miley! I wish someone would tell me I looked blooming! Most people still don't even realise I'm pregnant and not in a good way, was heavier before so I think everyone just thinks I've put weight back on Sad.

They live in Portugal pink and I don't have my mum anymore it's my dad and stepmum.

IndiX · 22/08/2016 19:23

Yeah pink it's always around the 39w mark as baby's lungs are fully developed and there's less risk of going in to natural labour. I've got to say that it feels so good that I know I won't go over due, I'm just hoping they stick to that date.

Canters how far along are you now? Are you definitely wanting the ELCS? I feel so good now knowing its confirmed and paper work has been signed. I know I have made the right decision for me and the baby.

Bunch I hope the hospital appt went well.

Shelb I really hope this is it, must be so frustrating not knowing. Sending you lots of positive baby-inducing vibes.

Potato so glad to hear you and Arya are doing so well. Sorry she had a little meltdown, bless you both you must've just wanted to calm her down. I'm the same though I don't think I'd give a shit about anyone looking over. I think my own personal meltdown last night was due to hormones and tiredness, I seem to have one of these mini breakdowns every 6 weeks, I have a cry and a whinge about everything and the next day I'm fine and back to being excited again.

Miley that'll be lovely to have a little birthday buddy with Beanie! Make sure your little one stays put until then though..I'm sure the midwife is right and there's nothing to worry about regarding your show.

Mileymoocow · 22/08/2016 19:24

feef I follow you on Instagram and there's absolutely no way you should feel ugly! You look bloody lovely in every photo I've seen of you

Mileymoocow · 22/08/2016 19:28

indi I'd be more concerned if you didn't have melt downs. My favourite game to play is stretch mark or clothes imprint. It often ends up in tears Grin I know I shouldn't be so superficial but it's bloody hard seeing your body change and have no control over it. I'm literal cellulite city right now and I can't bare to look at my bottom half in a mirror
