Hey all, feeling a lot more human for a few minutes. Arya's a different baby tonight. She went down at 8 and has so far woken at 12 and 2:30 fed well, had a nappy change and passed into a food coma! Perfect!!!
The motion sensor is binatone not belkin (getting confused) and I really recommend it for peace of mind. It's very easy to set up and use even when you're sleep deprived. I did look at the Angel care one but turning it on and off required you to follow a procedure and when you're exhausted its just too easy to forget. With this one you press a button and a blue light flashes every time it senses a breath or movement. which means you don't sit staring at your baby trying to see if their breathing
By the way, babies are often noisy when they sleep! They huff, grunt, grisle, wiggle, you name it they do it until they're deep asleep
I know they tell you not to put anything in with your baby when they're sleeping but if your not co-sleeping you might find that folding your worn T-shirt from the day up and placing it under your baby's head will really help them settle.
When you have your baby I really recommend getting out for a very short walk ASAP. I just nipped into ASDA yesterday for bread and pain killers. I was very tired after but I felt so good about myself and it got the first baby outing out of the way without it mattering if we forgot stuff etc.
I can't remember if I said but I've now been put on tablets for high blood pressure. It's not ideal but I'm not surprised considering all the rubbish I ate while pregnant. That urge to eat and eat rubbish completely disappeared as soon as Arya was born though, which is great. I'm now eating healthier than I have in years.
For those soon to be mums, your first midwife appointment after they will chat to you about safe sleeping, check baby's cord stump, ask about feeding and pooping then take your blood pressure, temperature, feel your tummy and if you've had stitches they'll check those. She'll have a quick chat and deal with anything that arises then leave you to it.
Also, regarding bleeding. It isn't necessarily horrific. Mine has been the same as a heavy period and is already easing off. I've changed from the uncomfortable maternity pads to just extra long night time normal pads and they're doing the trick with no problem.
Ok, I think that's the extent of my parenting knowledge for today. Pink, Shelb I hope things get moving for you soon
everyone else hope you're doing well
Here's a photo of Arya in her new bouncy chair, bouncy chairs are great, they can make the difference between eating your dinner and just poking it while trying to comfort a baby
