Morning ladies,

New, Jacob is so cute! I love his name too - that would have been on our boys shortlist.

Bunch, are the new antibiotics helping at all? I think you look amazing in your pictures! And the afternoon tea looks really good Smile Who knew babies were handy crumb catchers?! Did Wales cope ok with the public breastfeeding?!

Potato, I hope the midwife visit goes well today. I'm sorry to hear about your mum, hopefully things will settle down. Have DSS and DSD met Arya yet?

Shelb, did you manage to get back to sleep at all? Are you napping during the day?

canters, try not to worry about work tomorrow. All you can do is go in and give it a go, and if you need to go home before the end of the day then so be it. You and baby are the most important things to think about!

leonie, for me Braxton hicks are sharp pains/ tightenings which start at either side of my bump and them move across the top. I'm assuming they are BH anyway as I don't know what they would be otherwise!

I'm just going to sort out the last few bits of baby stuff and then we are going out for a walk in an attempt to get things moving! Lots of period pain in the night and back ache now, but I think the back ache is from a long walk yesterday.

shelbTa · 21/08/2016 11:13

Hi

New - thanks for sharing, he's adorable!!! Flowers

Potato - glad feeding is goin well. Are you trying breastfeeding too or just bottle?

Pink - omg im trying everything now too, even though still a week until due date, bless her. Pretty much made OH step up this morning after 4 months away Blush was pretty good, left me wanting more!! How long a walk are you going for, just out of interest? I'm dying to go for a long walk (30 mins or so these days!) as really helps my back, but don't know if tummy could take it as it goes soooo tight.

X

ElleSarcasmo · 21/08/2016 11:23

Thanks Bunch, I've just bought this one parka which is similar I think though not as weatherproof. I realised I don't have any coats to fit and it's been nippy/wet for the past few days. Hoping it will do the job for babywearing too! It's sort of ugly but functional!

Potato nappy changing sounds fun! Grin which sensor did you go for? That sounds really difficult about your mum with you being responsible for everything. You can only do so much especially now with Arya. (Love saying the name Arya! It's beautiful!). Hope she manages to cope ok. The suspiciousness and hostility is really difficult with dementia Sad.

Canters do you think your back is up to going in tomorrow? Nobody will judge you for being in pain and upset. They will hopefully all be lovely. Is your job very full on or will you be able to sit down/take breaks if needed? I am lucky that my specialty is quite a sedentary one which suits me very well at the moment! Are you going off on mat leave quite early or changing posts again? 6 weeks is no time! Smile

Pink hope you're not too fed up, have your wedding outfits arrived yet?

ElleSarcasmo · 21/08/2016 11:30

TMI alert: In other news I have noticed clear liquid coming from my nipples when I squeeze them-I squeezed because I noticed some crusting in the mornings. Is this why they sell sleep bras? Yikes!

Ni4444 · 21/08/2016 12:39

Potato Congratulations!!!!! I popped onto Instagram and there was a photo of baby!! Gosh that seems so quick!! Delighted you're back home already! Thanks to you and New for the birth stories. So lovely to hear that not everyone needs stitches!! And New i love to hear that your say was respected! I will be very reluctant to being induced unless it's really necessary so I must remember I can have an opinion! Your little ones are gorgeous! Love Jacob's little nose!

Bunch where did you get your coat? I like the idea of one for my January baby! Ps you looked fab! As did that afternoon tea!!

Feeling sorry for myself cos we had agreed to take the new car for a roadtrip to a beach... Then OH said it's too far this morning. I was so excited about packing a picnic etc. Suppose the weather didn't help make it seem appealing! Just wanted to enjoy our freedom before baby comes. So bored of working, commuting, and sitting in our bloody living room rotting in front of the TV in our not-so-ideal rental flat. I get a bit bored and itchy feet like this sometimes though. Think I'm anxious to get going with buying baby stuff, but it's too early so I'm just jittery to do something! Used the energy to clean and declutter yesterday but don't fancy more of the same today!! Rant over!!

Feefeefs · 21/08/2016 13:32

Poor you bunch you're allowed feel woe is me it doesn't take away from how much you love your wee one!!!

Sorry you're having a tough time with your mum potato hope your siblings help lessen the load and stay strong.

Gorgeous pic new! Lovely name.

Try not to worry about what they think canters like you say you'll have seen the back of them soon enough! Have a few snappy responses prepared!!

Pinklily1 · 21/08/2016 14:31

Shelb, when I say a "long" walk, we went out shopping for a few bits yesterday, and walked around for about 2 hours, so not an outdoors walk but time constantly on my feet. We've just been out for an hours walk along some trails this afternoon and that was enough today - my bump feels really heavy and low and my back is sore, so i'm now lying on the sofa with my feet up munching through a bowl of pineapple!!

Was DTD ok? We've not DTD for about 7 weeks. It was fine last time but my bump has grown considerably since then so I'm worried it wouldn't be comfortable for me and OH wouldn't find it massively attractive. I'm hoping to pounce though as it is meant to help things along Smile. I'm just worried it will end up awkward and uncomfortable.

Elle, i've not ordered the outfits yet. I keep thinking I'll wait another day to see if baby makes a move! I'll have to order them tomorrow though to make sure they come in time. I think some leaking from the nipples is normal in pregnancy.

Ni, i get cabin fever too if we just sit in. Could you go for a walk closer to home to at least get out of the flat?

Mileymoocow · 21/08/2016 17:41

Well, my BHs have ramped up and can now feel them about 10 times a day! I also have what feels like groin strain on either side of my ladyparts Blush

new Jacob is beautiful! I love his name, too!

Hope everyone's having a good Sunday. I've managed a KFC, full packet of revels (share bag) and am now gearing up for an alcohol free koppaberg in the sun.

shelbTa · 21/08/2016 18:02

Pink - yeah DTD was surprisingly ok! I think oh had built it up in his head to be undo able. Granted we did it from behind so he couldn't see the bump and I tried to cover it up. Just done 30 mins walk! Nothing feels different! Are you using a ball?

X

Pinklily1 · 21/08/2016 18:16

Behind is a good idea Shelb. I'm not sure whether my OH is freaked out by the idea of DTD with bump, he's been fine previously but now I've grown a fair bit I'm just not sure. I wish we hadn't left such a long gap since last time and it wouldn't feel like such a big deal. I'll broach it later.

I've had a lot of lower back pain this afternoon, like a strong period pain. It's the strongest it's been so far but isn't in my bump yet. I've got an exercise ball which I've been sat on for the past half hour or so, a bit of rotating and a bit of bouncing, but to be honest I don't find it that comfortable.

Fingers crossed your walk triggers something!

I've been following bunches lead and batch cooking today, although I've not managed to make desserts, only main courses!!

Miley, I want a KFC now!

leoniethelioness · 21/08/2016 18:21

Thanks for the BH comments. I'm not sure if I'm getting any - I think it's just down to my whopper of a baby. Looking forward to the growth scan to put my mind at ease. I'm sure it's all fine but I'm worried it'll mean I can't labour on the MLU or something. I'm not even sure if we are seeing a doctor or midwife to discuss the results afterwards or if the sonographer just tells us the score. Any ideas?

I find DTD impossible. I feel like a whale and my belly gets in the way or hips hurt. Had to lie down with a hot water bottle on my hip after the last time... 😶😶😶 I am not a sexy pregnant woman.

I feel tearful and hormonal tonight. DH has gone out for dinner and drinks with some friends of ours. I wanted to go too but I ordered our Tesco delivery for the wrong time (baby brain) and I know I'd want to go home too early, which would probably ruin his fun. Sitting down in a restaurant without shuffling about in my seat is probably beyond me. I also feel a bit ashamed of how slow I move - I just want to hide away until the baby is born now. 😣

DH has got the day off work tomorrow so the two of us are going to go out for lunch to cheer me up. I'm just feeling quite down about being so limited and uncomfortable at the moment so I hope it will help. I might do some online baby shopping too once I've eaten too. 😀

Mileymoocow · 21/08/2016 18:55

leonie definitely do some shopping! It's only fair Grin I know what you mean, I'm supposed to be going to watch the match next weekend but I've given my ticket away to OHs friend because there's no way I can sit for over 2 hours. Looks like the end of my football season is here before it even really began!

Really DTD I'm 33+1 and we are still doing it. OH seems to have no issue at all but I'm so conscious of my enormous boobs, bump and arse that I just don't feel sexy at all.

Hope there's some progression for you ladies soon shelb and pink!

Mileymoocow · 21/08/2016 19:03

I've also been told by 4 different people that I definitely won't last 40 weeks because my bump has dropped. So I'm resigning myself to go the full 40+10 because they've jinxed me. I have dropped though, I'm hardly getting any heartburn now Grin

shelbTa · 21/08/2016 19:26

Ah leonie - been there totally, when you just feel like a lump and serious case of FOMO. Hang in there, it will get better and you'll love tomorrow with OH I'm sure.

Bloody hell miley take it easy if you've dropped at 33 weeks!!

Pink - how's the period pain? I'm sat here with a tense rock hard stomach, had it for about 15 mins. It's so feckin annoying. Is it BH, is it a contraction, or is it cos I'm a fat bastard and had a massive tea!!!!

X

leoniethelioness · 21/08/2016 19:45

Thank you, lovely ladies

TMI - has anyone else get loads of vaginal fluid? I get it whenever I wipe - really slippery, abundant and sort of mucus-like. I've had it for weeks. Is it just my nether regions keeping the birth canal clean?! Why is there so much of it? Why is pregnancy so sexy?

Washing some bibs, muslins, baby towel robes and blankets to cheer myself up. Getting organised nesting

Pinklily1 · 21/08/2016 19:59

Flowers Leonie. Definitely do some baby shopping to cheat you up. hopefully your day out with OH tomorrow will help too.

Shelb, I'm just getting more impatient, which I don't think helps matters. I'm sure you are meant to stay calm and relaxed rather than anxious and impatient like me. I've also been googling 'contractions' as I'm stressing about how you know it's contractions/ the real deal and not just BH or random pregnancy pains. I've still got period pain type things. I've just had a bath though which helped. We'll see how things go tonight.

miley, I had a similar opinion from my midwife so am now trying to convince myself I will go overdue so I don't feel like I'm counting the days as much. Do they induce at 40+10 at cramlington?

Pinklily1 · 21/08/2016 20:00

Yes to lots of CM Leonie! The joys of pregnancy Smile

PotatosMum · 21/08/2016 20:23

I'm really struggling to keep up at the moment so I'll try to reply/comment when I can but sorry if I miss anyone!

Pink yes, Arya met her brother and sister yesterday. DSS was actually quite taken with her and has decided that she's a good baby but he was also a little weirded out by how her skin feels lol. DSD had chosen some clothes for Arya and also payed her a little attention but I think she was a bit jealous and didn't like so much attention being given to someone else.

Pink, I didn't feel any contractions in my bump at all, it was all in my lower back and bottom.

Shelb I'm just bottle feeding. I made the decision not to try breast quite a while ago.

For anyone else bottle or combination feeding, OMG the perfect prep machine is fantastic!!! It literally does everything for you and you get a perfect bottle at the perfect temperature every time. I also assume it's delicious because it has just about doubled the amount Arya will eat at a time.

Elle, I got a belkin (I think) pressure pad system. It's really simple to use and comes with two pads so you can use one while you have a baby and two once they're crawling to cover a whole cot. It's been really good and gives you an extra sense of piece of mind. You can get it in a pack with a Motorola 36s video monitor which is what we did.

Ni that sucks about the cancelled road trip. You should have just replanted and gone somewhere closer.

Leonie sorry you're feeling down. Hope tomorrow cheers you up!

So, I have to go on blood pressure tablets for the foreseeable future but my stitches apparently look great.
Nearly burst into tears earlier because Arya is so cute!!! Smile

leoniethelioness · 21/08/2016 20:51

Miley Pink I think they induce at 40+13 here! My midwife said they might not let me get that far if baby's measurements are big though... Can't say I'm thrilled about the induction process. I'm wondering if baby is starting to engage though as I keep feeling pressure on my bladder.

Glad everything is going well, Potato. More photos, please!

Mileymoocow · 21/08/2016 20:59

shelb I'm not reading too much into it, everyone that's mentioned it tend to have a comment about my bump every time I see them!

Yeah pink they don't let you go any further than that unless you refuse to be induced (rvi is the same I think?) I don't love the idea but I don't think I'll refuse because I'm already so impatient to meet baby. My midwife hasn't mentioned anything yet but I don't see her til next week. I can breathe easier and I'm not getting heartburn so position has definitely changed. May just be a case of baby being head down now.

leonie sooooo much cm it's ridiculous. I actually wear a pad at the moment because I've had a couple of leaks! Blush

potato I'm really glad the kids are taken with their new sister! Though I don't see how anyone couldn't fall in love instantly - she's a total cutie

Pinklily1 · 21/08/2016 21:13

They let you go 7 days over at the RVI Miley, then induce. Midwife has said if baby doesn't appear by my 40 week appointment, I'll be booked in for an induction at 40+7. I want to avoid that if at all possible as apparently induced births are more likely to result in forceps or ventouse being used.

Mileymoocow · 21/08/2016 21:31

Oh really?! Only 7 days? I have everything crossed for you that your little one is cooperative and makes an appearance before then. I'm really terrified of having to have forceps because I've heard so many awful things. It's second on my list of things to avoid if at all possible, right after an epidural!

Ni4444 · 21/08/2016 21:31

Pink potato we walked to our cute high street and had lunch. It's a good 20min walk each way so at least I felt I wasn't a slob all day!

Potato that's great that the kids liked Arya, especially DSS. Its a great start!

Sodasoda · 21/08/2016 21:33

Hi everyone!

Lots to catch up on! Gorgeous pics of Arya and Jacob, lovely to see!

Leonie / miley - lots of CM here too. Have been wearing pantry liners for a while, sometimes I think I've wet myself Shock

Elle - yes to leaky nipples!

Pink - would be interested to know what maternity bras you went for in the end.

I'm 36+4 and I don't think I've had any BH. I've had some period-y pain but not 'tightening' across belly or anything. Got midwife appt tomorrow to discuss birth plan so will ask about it then.

Bridesmaid duties went well and it wasn't ruined too much by the rain in the end. Stayed til 1am dancing! I'm pretty knackered today and my feet are ridiculously swollen. Working from home tomorrow thankfully and getting some baby deliveries Smile So over work now!

Pinklily1 · 21/08/2016 21:59

Your list is very like mine Miley! My aim is to have baby in the pool in the birthing centre, and avoid an epidural, but I suppose you just have to go with whatever is best for mum and baby on the day, so I'm trying to be open minded about it.

Soda, I've ordered some Heidi Klum ones from Figleaves, and a few from a brand called Anita, also off figleaves. The Anita ones have flexi wiring in them with is apparently fine for boobs when you are breastfeeding, as it's somehow better than normal underwriting. They should arrive on Tuesday so I'll let you know if any of them are any good. My boobs are huge at the minute (34F Shock) so I need some support!

Glad the bridesmaid duties went well!
