Today is so exciting! She could feel mini potato's head?! come on out mini potato you're the first baby girl for the thread!

PotatosMum · 19/08/2016 11:54

Yes! Pink, Shelb please join me, this is fun, I promise!! Grin

OH is pacing like a caged animal.

My contractions are now at about 3 minutes but vary as to how strong and long they are. Some reduce me to tears while others are perfectly manageable.
I've taken some more paracetamol in the hope it will help and I've got a wheat pack on my back. Just so tired!

Ooh what's a wheatpack? are they better than hot water bottles? I love shot showers too potato

Glad to see you're managing so well - better than your OH from the sound of it Smile!

Come on pink and shelb! First ever synchronised labour on MN!

I am lacking concentration at work today lol

PotatosMum · 19/08/2016 12:17

Ok, so, my contractions are now about 4 minutes apart, I can't talk through them but they do vary slightly In intensity. Paracetamol has taken the edge off a bit but not dramatically. Do you think it's time to call labour ward again? I don't want to turn up and have contractions vanish again, I'll feel like a right numpty Confused

BunchOfBobs · 19/08/2016 12:28

Potato. I was told to go in when they were 5 mins apart and had been for more than 1 hour and had ramped up. How long have they been that regular? No harm in phoning them:

BunchOfBobs · 19/08/2016 12:39

Atticus is over his birth weight yay! He lost 10oz in the first 3 days and he's now 9lb 3oz so he's put on 1lb1oz in a week. Grin the boobs work!!

HepKestrel · 19/08/2016 12:45

lilian a wheat pack is like a small bean bag (full of wheat) that you can just heat in microwave.

very quick to heat, and you can "mold" them to your back/joints etc....

HepKestrel · 19/08/2016 12:47

potato ring the ward for advice !!! hope you are on the way already. Smile

Pinklily1 · 19/08/2016 12:49

Sounds like things are definitely progressing Potato! It's so exciting that they could feel baby's head already! Hopefully baby Potato will be obliging and you'll have a fast labour. Also, don't worry about over sharing - I'd much rather know the details and learn more about what to expect.

I love what you have done to DSS' room.

Don't get too excited about things progressing with me ladies - I'm just having lots of Braxton hicks and (sorry for TMI) a lot of poos, but nothing more at the minute. I'm not due till 30th August so it may be a bit early yet, although the midwife did say she doesn't think I'll make it to 40 weeks. We'll see what happens.

We are just waiting for the Health Visitor to arrive. I'm a bit nervous and unsure what to expect. We've cleaned the house from top to bottom (it needed a spring clean anyway!) and I've got the biscuits in, so I'm sure it will be fine.

How are you Shelb? Any developments?

Hope everyone else is ok?

Pinklily1 · 19/08/2016 12:51

Just saw your other post Potato. I'd ring the ward for advice. We've been told that when it gets to the point that you can't talk through the contractions, they will get you in to examine you again.

Bunch, that's brilliant! Go Atticus (and your boobs Grin).

BunchOfBobs · 19/08/2016 12:53

Pink that's how it started for me WinkMy bet is you'll be having contractions before the weekend is up Grin

Canters15 · 19/08/2016 12:55

Eeeeeeeeeek potato!!!! This is so exciting! Good luck, hope you get to meet baby potato soon!

I am back on the cripples couch today. Managed two hours at work before being sent home due to my back, and sobbed in front of my whole team because it hurt so much. So embarrassing. Thank fuck it's Friday!

HepKestrel · 19/08/2016 13:00

Flowers Canters

Mileymoocow · 19/08/2016 13:09

pink our health visitor didn't move from the sofa. She also refused the cookies I baked bought and a cup of tea. I was disappointed because I went mad cleaning before hand too!

Go potato go!!! Sounds like we could have a little girl to represent the grads pretty soon! Definitely not over sharing, as others have said I'd definitely rather know what to expect. Good luck!!!

bunch yay for Attics and yay for epic boob performance! That's a pretty impressive gain Grin

canters I find having a few walks a day has helped mine. I'm babysitting my gorgeous little godson today so I don't have time for a bad back! Off round the park I go

Just back from the gym and potato it seems things have really progressed! I'm so excited for the first team pink memberGrin hope you're doing ok, glad the heat is taking some of the edge off.

Miley what an adorable little boy! His hair is amazing.

Bunch good work from your boobs! So glad to hear that feeding isn't a problem too. I've heard so many stories about not latching on, milk not coming in, really painful nipples etc. I want to be like you!

Sorry you're in pain canters it really is shit when you feel like that. Have a nice lazy afternoon on the couch and rest up CakeChocolateFlowers

shelbTa · 19/08/2016 14:22

Pink - same here, lots of braxton hicks when I move about and bizarrely very strong after I got to the toilet. I'm not get excited - millions miles away From where potato is! Eeekkkkkk!

X

Mileymoocow · 19/08/2016 14:52

Thanks indi he's awesome but a handful!

Anyone else around 33 weeks having quite painful period cramps?

shelb here's hoping it's not long for you to wait! Grin

IndiX · 19/08/2016 15:00

Miley I'm a few days behind you and I felt some period/poo pains when I was in the gym. Not really painful but was aware of an ache. Don't know what it means though maybe just stretching and getting your body ready?

Pinklily1 · 19/08/2016 15:19

Fingers crossed you'e right Bunch Smile

Miley - his hair is amazing!

Canters, sorry to hear you are still in pain. Have you tried a bath to maybe help a bit?

LillianFullStop · 19/08/2016 15:22

miley I'm 30+5 and been getting them too. usually while lying down in bed or while/after a pee. Doesn't go on for too long like period pain though.

LisaTheSimpson · 19/08/2016 15:55

Same here - quite a bit of aching and discomfort around my lower back and pelvis. Not sure I'd say it's painful or like cramps, but it can ache a lot and I have to sit down. It's also not good when I'm in bed.

Are yours really painful, Miley?

leoniethelioness · 19/08/2016 17:13

How are things progressing, potato?

DSis is well enough to go home after her blood transfusion yesterday but she is waiting on some jaundice-related tests in baby before they can be discharged. Fingers crossed that they will be gone tomorrow!

leoniethelioness · 19/08/2016 17:13

*on baby!

LillianFullStop · 19/08/2016 17:35

Oh I hope she gets to go home with bub soon leonie!

I'm taking potato's silence to be a good sign - maybe she's on the 'can't talk' stage of labour which probably means she can't type either. Come on out mini potato!!

Mileymoocow · 19/08/2016 19:01

Glad it's not just me then ladies! I guess it's just another lovely symptom for the stage we're at! lisa I wouldn't say they're unbearable, more like a standard period pain - but I guess that doesn't help at all considering you don't know what a period pain is like for me! Definitely bad enough for a hot water bottle and some chocolate Wink

Haha pink his hair is pretty cool, it's so fluffy! He's just gone home and I'm exhausted!

I've just been asked if I'd like a poddle pod as a gift from my friend. She reckons they're the next best thing to a sleepy head and has been a life saver for her and a few other mums she knows. My cousin has one and she said they're brilliant, too! Will look forward to trying it. They haven't been tested for overnight sleeping but apparently neither has a sleepy head?!
