IrregularCommentary · 19/08/2016 07:58

The absolute best news to see this morning! Yay Potato! Hope you progress quickly so you can meet mini potato soon x

leoniethelioness · 19/08/2016 08:05

Yes, the stress hormones you get when you arrive at hospital can stop labour in its tracks.

shelbTa · 19/08/2016 08:09

Bunch - did you say the day before labour you had near constant braxton hicks?

X

Pinklily1 · 19/08/2016 08:14

Eek Potato! It's starting Smile I'm so excited for you. Have your waters broken? Hopefully you are managing to get a bit of rest and the pain isn't too bad so far.

I had Braxton hicks almost constantly last night and again this morning, but none during the night. Does anyone feel them during the night?

BunchOfBobs · 19/08/2016 08:15

Shelb, if been having them massively increased for the week before but yes the Sunday was near constant then we went to hospital Monday morning with my bloody show and real contractions started on the way home. You getting them near constant now?

AudreyBradshaw · 19/08/2016 08:29

Good luck potato and lots of love and positive thoughts! So exciting! You're nearly a Mummy! 🎉🎂🎊👑🍦💜👑👍🎁

shelbTa · 19/08/2016 08:42

Yes almost constant since last night, particularly when I move around, and unusually down the side of bump. Got Fanny daggers too but zero CM.

PotatosMum · 19/08/2016 08:43

Sorry about the me, me, me posts... Sleep hasn't lasted long, lying on my side results in horrible pain and a feeling of desperately needing a poo ConfusedSad there's no way to prop myself up while I sleep, I just don't have enough pillows etc. So I give up!
I might try a bath in a bit.

Bunch it sounds like our labour pain is rather similar. There really is nothing in the world like it but so far degeneration of my fibroid was more painful if less confusing.

Pink my membrane is bulging but hasn't burst yet apparently only about 15% of women have their waters go before they're in full blown labour in hospital.

Pink, Shelb for the past two days my BH really ramped up a lot, always in the morning and evening but they never woke me up at night.
Trust me, when they change to contractions it's hard to miss the difference. The only problem I had at first was trying to decide whether it was false labour or not.
Have your BH been ramping up?? It would be rather brilliant to have three of us on the go Wink

Audrey at the moment I'm not thinking about being a mummy much, I'm more concerned with being out of pain and able to put my own shoes on ShockWink
Seriously I am still a little in disbelief about the whole actual baby thing... I may well still be baffled by the concept when the hand her to me lol

This is going to be an exciting day I think! I really want to fast forward a few hours ladies!!! Fx we have all 3 arriving soon!!! potato I've heard a bath helps and while you're in send OH to the supermarket for 10 more pillows! Wink

AudreyBradshaw · 19/08/2016 09:03

I can't believe we've got so many in labour! It's like when we first started getting bfp's! potato you be as me me me as you like! Same for shelb it's all about you!

Know what you mean though potato my friend had a baby a few weeks ago and said it's all very well and good, pregnancy birth etc, but you get discharged, get home, walk through the door, put the car seat down in the middle of the front room, deep breathe and go "FUCK! I've got to actually look after you and I've no idea how!" Grin

PotatosMum · 19/08/2016 09:05

Crap, contractions are back, forgot how horrible they are. Desperation for an impossible wee and poo have returned with them. Does that last all the way through Bunch?

Trying to distract myself so have a before and after picture of DSSs nearly finished new room before picture has old owners furniture in it Smile just need to get his TV on the wall next to the window and soft furnishings and we're done. Before picture really doesn't show how revolting the paintwork was, it was peach with grubby stains and the skirting a had turned yellow partially with cat wee Confused

audrey I feel as though that is exactly what is going to happen to me. OH held his first ever baby on Saturday and neither of us has ever changed a nappy. I think we're fucked.

bunch speaking of nappies...bit of a strange one, but how bad was the first poo? I've heard some pretty bad horror stories!

PotatosMum · 19/08/2016 09:10

Audrey yup, that sounds like me. Luckily OH has had experience so he should be able to save me from most of the stupid shit I'd do without him Grin

Potato that's wonderful news! Sorry you are in pain but as Miley said the finish line is in sight! Good luck, I'm sure you'll be amazing. Also love the NYC wall in DSS's room!

Audrey I deffo think I'm going to think 'fuckkk what do we do with this tiny human', I've been told instinct takes over. I've never changed a nappy though and keep waking up in the night about it or stressing about how I don't know what 'tummy time' is or how to relieve colic. We have a lot to learn but I'm sure we'll be fine...

Shelb and pink I really hope this is the start of something for you both!
This thread is going to be full of babies popping out soon, I'm so excited!

HepKestrel · 19/08/2016 09:26

goodluck potato !!!!

BunchOfBobs · 19/08/2016 09:28

Potato unfortunately it did for me until the epidural. Then it was replaced by a stitch in my pubic bone before it failed. I think I really pissed off the midwife constantly getting out of the pool to try to go the loo- it was no good though, I had no pee or poo to speak of, we even did an in and out catheter to check . Keep hydrated!!

Oh wow his room looks amazing. Is he pleased?

Miley I've changed a grand total of 2 nappies, both only wet. The pros of being bed bound (though I'm up and about at last). I did see the meconium, it looks pretty awful but didn't smell of shit. My poo is quite similar in colour at the mo, delightful iron tablets!

Indi DH and I still can't wind 10 day old Atticus. We suck! Thankfully bf babies don't need so much winding but when he does we fail epically. It's a huge learning curve but all they need is to be fed, clean and loved.

Mileymoocow · 19/08/2016 09:34

Just found this and think I'm going to have it printed onto cards to hand out to people!

potato sorry, missed the photos before. Yous have done a brilliant job with the room I bet DSS is absolutely over the moon!

indi though I'm desperate to meet baby I'm also so grateful others are having theirs before me! I'll just be a constant pain asking for advice Grin

Bunch bother, I was hoping that was just an early labour thing. Oh well, hopefully won't be in labour too long. I'm determined that as my pregnancy was a pain I shall have an easy is labour.

Bunch, Miley DSS has no idea that we've done anything apart from put his bed together, it's a surprise. He was going to see it tonight but we've told their mum she will have to keep them this weekend. On the bright side we should have time to put the blinds up and maybe get him a lamp etc. Before he sees it.

Mileymoocow · 19/08/2016 09:49

bunch glad to hear! OH wants to do all nappies/bath times as his way of bonding until I express and he can help feed. We'll see how long that lasts! Yay for black poo, means the iron is building up in your system Grin

Planeteer · 19/08/2016 09:50

Just checked back in and it's all go!! Potato loads of luck, so excited for you. You're so nearly there!!! StarStar

LisaTheSimpson · 19/08/2016 09:57

Potato, that's such a lovely surprise for him. I love the landscape picture on the back wall, it's very cool. I'm sure he'll love it.

Hope you're able to get some rest before the next stage!

PotatosMum · 19/08/2016 10:59

Thanks for the encouragement ladies Grin

I just had a warm shower and I seriously highly recommend it if you get back pain during labour. The hot water on my back during contractions made them far more bearable. I would have stayed in there all day but my legs were starting to go wobbly.

I appear to have a little bit of spotting now, I don't know if that's from my examination or if it's a bit of bloody show. I not sure it matters either way at this point. Did I mention she said she could feel potato's head Shock

Hope you guys don't mind me over sharing Wink

The New York scene was a complete bugger to put up. It's actually 4 quarters and lining them all up especially when you're both short and one of you is heavily pregnant! was a nightmare. One of the sheets just wouldn't do it so we had to fudge it a bit, you can't really tell unless you know what your looking for but I've learned a valuable lesson about seam placement!

Woo hoo good luck potato!! Over share is good, I'm sure we all like to read the details of everything- I hope your labour progresses quickly

Oh and love that New York wallpaper

Fingers crossed things ramp up for pink and shelb
