Comgratulations New !!

leoniethelioness · 18/08/2016 13:15

Yay, New! My nephew was born on 16th. 😃😃😁😀

AudreyBradshaw · 18/08/2016 13:45

And in other news I very cleverly decided it couldn't be that difficult to shave my foof even though I can't see it. How wrong I was. Did it with mirror, electric shaver and a lot of limbering up, think I'm lucky to still have an external labia to be honest. Dh will wake up and go "why did you not wait for me to do it?!" I'll get the "don't cut your own fringe" lecture again, except this time it will be "don't trim your own minge" . Lesson learned, if you can't see it, don't try to use sharp implements on it. Grin

BunchOfBobs · 18/08/2016 13:51

Stardrey I did the same but with teeny scissors- was just after a trim. I trimmed a bit too close to the mark..... Confused

Danni89 · 18/08/2016 14:07

Congrats new!! FlowersStarWine

Sorry to hear the midwife appointment has triggered more examining but best to be safe then sorry

She's a lil cutie miley! Literally can't wait for baby cuddles

Mileymoocow · 18/08/2016 14:12

Audrey just get waxed. It's infinitely less painful than slicing your own lips off! OH has offered to sort mine out but he doesn't close-shave his face so doesn't have enough experience IMO!

I have to have a rest between chores...is this it for me now?! Ive managed to bleach the kitchen, sort the dishwasher out and put a load of washing in in about an hour?! I'm having half an hour before I hoover and dust or I think I might die.

mayago · 18/08/2016 14:31

Congratulations New!! Glad all is well.

Potato sorry the midwife appointment didn't go as planned. Better safe than sorry, and hopefully potato will be here soon!

Miley sorry you've been having a rough time! Your niece is adorable!

Canters and Cosmo hope you don't have too long on the back pain sofa. I made a really nice carrot cake yesterday, so will contribute too! Cake

Bunch that sounds so traumatic. Hope everything settles soon and the infection makes a speedy exit! Motherhood must be so wonderful to be more concerned with your beautiful child than something that, before childbirth, would make your hair stand on end! Women truly are amazing.

Stardrey I thought I could see enough of mine to have a go with the razor on the weekend. No bloodshed, but I missed so much and felt really silly afterwards. At least OH didn't laugh. I'm going to have to rethink my strategy Hmm Hope you have more success with the nursery painting!

LillianFullStop · 18/08/2016 14:31

Congrats on the baby boy new! Glad all is well and yay to the second thread baby!

miley your cousins baby is adorable I love that watermelon sleepsuit!

bunch sorry you're having a rough time. sounds like you're doing everything you can - I hope it gets better from here on. Good news on the breastfeeding!

audrey am tossing up between a self trip and professional wax and I think you've just convinced me to go for a wax! Eek!!

anyone thinking of investing in a blow up cushion and a sitz bath for postpartum?

LillianFullStop · 18/08/2016 14:33

potato really hope it's not preeclampsia and that little potato makes an appearance very soon.

PotatosMum · 18/08/2016 14:35

Bunch you poor thing, you're having an awful time with your stitches Sad

Lisa yes, DSSs mum rarely thinks of anyone but her self and she definitely knows when my due date is so she knew how inconvenient it would be. She's also only just booked this holiday so she did it specifically when she knew she would struggle to have the kids but to be fair it's DSS who is complaining that he doesn't want to go and wants to stay with us.

I'm 38+5 today.

New woohoo!!! Yay! For new thread baby!!!

Miley I have to sit down for an hour after loading the dishwasher Blush

So I'm back home having done lots of wee samples, given blood and sat on a monitor for ages. They're going to test the bloods and urine (which still has protein in it) to check for preeclampsia and call me if there's a problem. I've got a lot of fluid retention on my tummy (didn't even know that was a thing) but they've decided that my blood pressure isn't too bad. I've got to wait for them to call me with a consultant appointment.
I'm measuring 40 weeks now and the monitoring showed a lot of BH although the midwife didn't seem bothered at all even when I told her they'd been getting more frequent and more uncomfortable since yesterday afternoon. I'm really hoping Potato will turn up this weekend, fingers crossed!!!

Congratulations on the birth of your baby boy New!!!!! Dying to know details, if you're happy to share. Hope you're both having lots of peace and quiet to recharge and connect! Xxx

Stardrey I'm so not bothered about my gardening (OH is all about the natural look so ive got lazy!) but all this talk is getting me wondering!! So glad I saw your post...was convinced I could use mirrors if needed, but totally forgot how everything is backwards and awkward in mirrors!! Waxing....hmm...

Potato hope you get the all clear after all that pocking and prodding!

Just figured I'll probably be baby no 30 on this thread, despite being on the ttc thread way back when! Ah well, I'll have all the insider info from you guys! 😉

Mileymoocow · 18/08/2016 15:08

I'm 14th on the list with 7 weeks left so I reckon we should average out at 2 babies a week until then! Which is so exciting I could burst!

potato fx for the all clear! Potato may be the first baby girl on the thread! Very excited to see how team pink vs team blue fares after vanilla babies have arrived

PotatosMum · 18/08/2016 15:08

Oh for crying out loud... Now we have fleas from the previous owners stupid cat. Anyone got any recommendations for treating a flea infestation?

OP posts:
Mileymoocow · 18/08/2016 15:13

ni it seems like such a long wait but please let me assure you, if baby is on time then they are entitled to be referred to as a legend forever more. Only the best people are born on January 11th Wink

It's also incredible to think little Atticus will be over 6 months old when the last baby on the list makes an appearance. Holy shit.

Mileymoocow · 18/08/2016 15:15

potato look up something called diatomaceous earth. It's a natural flea killer that you sprinkle on infected areas then hoover up. It essentially shreds them. Also combine 50% water with 50% apple cider vinegar in a spray bottle, add a few drops of rose geranium oil and lavender oil and spray. Natural repellant Wink I've been an animal mummy most of my life.

Sodasoda · 18/08/2016 16:00

Woohoo new huge congratulations on your baby boy! We've all been thinking of you, hope all is well xx

I'm writing this as I'm having my pedicure. Hoping the beautician can magically make my swollen feet smaller so they can fit into my shoes this weekend Wink

This is my bridesmaid dress pink. Unfortunately that's not me in the pic! Winkhttp://www.tiffanyrose.com/maternity/clothing/BSDGJ/Bardot-Maternity-Shift-Dress-Grand-Jardin.html

Hope those with bad backs are resting up. Audrey - not everyone suffers from bad back / hips if that helps. I'm 36 weeks and honestly have been fine with that. Now poo-ing is completely another matter....

Definitely get waxed people! Go first thing in the morning though when you're not too tired and it's far less painful.

Potato that sounds really scary. Hoping your little potato shows up very soon.

Shelb potato pink - your EDD are very close to start of September - have you considered the school year thing? Lots of people have said to me 'ooh September babies, great month to be born' and making a big deal of how it's much better to be old in the school year. Maybe it's because I know a lot of teachers but just wondering if people had said anything to you? Personally I don't mind at all when my baby comes along now - although I'd prefer it if it was in a couple of weeks as I want a bit of maternity leave first!

Miley that baby is adorable!

Waves to everyone

HepKestrel · 18/08/2016 16:05

potato you can get very good spray from the vet. Indorex i think it is called. protects your house for 6-12 months.

leoniethelioness · 18/08/2016 16:10

Poor DSis being kept in for a blood transfusion 😂😂😂

leoniethelioness · 18/08/2016 16:14

Meant to say re: school year - DH was quite keen to avoid any August baby but I don't know why: our SIL is nearly done with a PhD in physics and she was born in August. She's bright and clever, and understands things I can only dream of! I can think of quite a few other August high flyers too. I think the differences are more noticeable when they start school but I'm sure they even out by 18 for most children.

leoniethelioness · 18/08/2016 16:15

I've heard good things about Indorex too. Lots of vacuuming too, particularly of skirting boards.

PotatosMum · 18/08/2016 17:27

Miley I looked up the earth stuff but I was a little concerned that some reviews warned of it being toxic when inhaled while others said not.

Soda I'm not fussed about the starting school younger thing but then I don't intend to leave all of Potato's learning to the schools. I want to help her learn to read etc. As early as possible because my own school really let me down on that front.

Thanks for the indorex suggestion, it seems to have really good reviews and is safe around babies and pregnant women so I've bought a couple of cans. Hopefully it will solve the problem!

Congratulations New! He was a good size too. Does he have a name yet (if you are happy to share)? Hope you are ok post birth too.

Sorry to hear you are in pain Canters and Cosmo.

Audrey, i'm still tending to the nether regions, but not with an electric razor Shock. That's a bit risky for my liking!

Miley, your cousin's baby is so cute.

Potato, sorry to hear the midwife appointment didn't go to plan. Fingers crossed for good results and that you don't have pre eclampsia. My midwife told me yesterday that I have a lot of fluid retention on my lower tummy (under my belly button). I hadn't heard of that being a thing either Hmm. She said it was nothing to worry about though, but that my fingers and fee may swell a bit too and it doesn't automatically mean pre eclampsia.

Soda, OH wanted baby to be a September baby before we started TTC, and we didn't expect it to happen quite so quickly Smile. Its got to the point now though that we are both impatient and just feel ready for baby to come now, so we are happy if she arrives in August. Your bridesmaid dress is really pretty. I'm just about to order a bunch of dresses from Tiffany Rose for a wedding next week.

Ni4444 · 18/08/2016 18:55

Haha is that right Miley?! Wink

IrregularCommentary · 18/08/2016 20:22

You're slightly out there Miley - I believe Jan 15th has now been recognised as peak birthday 😜

shelbTa · 18/08/2016 20:25

Evening

Congrats new! Lovely news.

How are you doing potato?

I'm sat here with a few cramps round the side of tum, it's so hard not to read so much into slightest thing isn't it!
