Oh no miley please take it easy and rest up, i think you should probably take the rest of the week off work

Glad midwife appt went well indi- oh and o know what you mean about feeling 'powerful', we have a life growing inside us

leonie- hope the growth scan explains why baby is measuring big, when is it booked for?

Got last bits today- monitors, bjorn baby carrier, rocker, car baby mirrors. Still haven't seen a baby changing bag I like though Confused

leoniethelioness · 17/08/2016 16:31

Have you tried John Lewis, Danni? I have a Skip Hop one from there but I was impressed with the range they had.

Growth scan arranged for Wednesday when I'll be 35 weeks. Weird to think baby could come 2 weeks after that.

BunchOfBobs · 17/08/2016 16:41

Oh poor you Miley, hope you're feeling a bit better. Take it easy, nap lots, fig rolls and prune juice!!

Pink very exciting- I was in full active labour with still 2/5ths palpable Hmmso baby could be here anytime.

Get bouncing Potato Atticus needs company.

Leonie don't be too worried, it looks very similar to mine. I had yet another growth spurt marked on before he was born and I don't think 8lb 12 is too monstrous.

So midwife came today and I got the full verdict on my wound. My muscle is still together but my skin has separated 1cm the full length of the wound (approx 5cm). So it's no surprise I've been bed bound. I did however make it into a chair for a bit then sat in the kitchen (which I haven't seen since Thursday) and miraculously made it outside today for some fresh air and sat in the shade with Atticus. Then he got a heat rash and I panicked and I'm shattered so just slept the last 2 hours. Baby steps!

Thinking of you New.

Oh no miley that's horrible hope it's just an infection and you well and truly kick it in a few days Cake

leonie growth scan should give you some reassurance - those measurements they do are so inaccurate! at least you get a sneak peak Smile

Nice work danni - all those are still on my list! which monitor did you go for?

hope we hear from new soon

Canters15 · 17/08/2016 17:11

Oh Miley you poor thing!! Hope youre feeling better soon.

My back has randomly become v sore today, woke up in pain this morning. I've also popped, I look huge. Thankfully have a day off work tomorrow to chill.

Ouch, bunch! I suppose it will all heal in time but doesn't sound much fun at all.

Danni89 · 17/08/2016 17:32

lillian we went for the one below, didn't bother with the body sensors

https://www.amazon.co.uk/Motorola-MBP36S-Digital-Video-Monitor/dp/B00K1BESC4

Thanks leonie- went for a skip hop one too, all black so OH can feel comfortable with it too lol

bunch, the stitches sound rough, any idea what caused it to get infected? Rest up

PotatosMum · 17/08/2016 18:53

Miley poor you! Glad all tests came back fine, sounds like you need to take it easy.

Leonie growth scans seem to be fairly common and if you're 2cm+ over or under they have to refer you. Just look at it as another opportunity to see baby Smile

Indi glad all was well at the midwife. You have your proud moment Smile this baby growing is hard work!

Bunch that sounds awful about the stitches. I hope it heals up soon for you.

So, OHs exw just messaged him to find out how things are going with the baby (translation: will we be able to have the kids this weekend) she followed it up with asking "I wonder when they will get her in for a sweep" wtf, how is that any of her business? I told OH to tell her to keep her nose out of my vagina... He refused Grin

Been having quite strong BH the past hour or so, keep hoping it's the start of labour but I think that's just wishful thinking.

Lisa, I feel ready for baby to arrive now to be honest. I'm not too uncomfortable but just impatient to meet her, and would like to be able to sleep without hip pain!

Glad the referral came through Leonie! At least you don't have to wait too long for the growth scan. Fingers crossed all is ok. My midwife always measures really quickly and i'm never convinced it can be accurate.

Dannii, for changing bags we are going for the Bababing city deluxe from John Lewis - its the only one OH feels comfortable carrying (and I have an aversion to all things floral/ too girlie Smile)

Indi, how was your 32 week appointment?

Bunch, was Atticus 8lb 12oz when he was born? Pretty much in line with your chart? Midwife estimated today that baby will be 7lb 7oz at birth, so hoping that will be pretty accurate. Do you need anything doing to your stitches or will it all just come together and heal in time?

Miley, hope you are feeling a bit better now? That sounds scary. Hopefully the laxatives will work soon too. I always think if you are constipated it makes you feel worse.

Potato, i love your suggested response to that text, it really made me chuckle! How is your vagina any of her business?!

BunchOfBobs · 17/08/2016 20:45

Pink yep, he was apparently on target for 9lb9 if he would have gone to 42 weeks by then we had a mega jump at 38 weeks he was measuring 41cm which was a huge jump on my chart. He didn't turn out so massive after all. My stitches just need to heal on their own apparently, infection is common, I have no actual symptoms of one, my temp is fine, no oozing or swelling anymore but it's the general cause for undone stitches.

Mileymoocow · 17/08/2016 21:08

Thanks again ladies, you're a lovely bunch! I'm OK, managed to get out for a walk after tea. Had a slight wobble and nearly blacked out so had to sit on a park bench until my vision came back. Had a bath and am now lying in bed with a hot water bottle and a fan blasting at me again!

danni I think I'm being forced to stay off. I really don't like being on the sick, I always try to go in and have a go at it but OH is majorly protective at the moment and is insisting I stay in bed. Changing bags are a pain to choose! I felt like they were mostly too girly for OH to agree on so we went for a plain grey messenger bag from mothercare. Bit boring but does the job and keeps the man happy. I still need most of the things on your list!

God bunch you poor thing! I hope you recover soon it sounds pretty awful. Little fella is worth a torn vaj though Grin

potato tell ex wife to piss off. I hate her and I've never even met her 😂

canters the exact same happened to me a couple of weeks ago. Back ache is an absolute bitch Flowers lots of rest and chocolate on your day off!

Hope everyone's ok, sorry if I've missed anything. Having an early night but probably still won't sleep til silly o'clock

AudreyBradshaw · 17/08/2016 21:19

I've got a purple silver cross changing bag that will live in the car permanently, and I'm going to ask for a snazzy one for Christmas i think. I have a juicy couture bag which would probably do the trick but it's gaudy as balls (I loved it) but I don't think it will be big enough.

potato she's a knob. BIL was "hurt" that we didn't tell him we were TTC! I told dh to pass on that the only way his brother would need to know anything about my vag was if he was banging me, and I'd have rinsed my fanny out with turps and bleach if that ever happened.

miley you're having a shocker, take it easy!

Mileymoocow · 17/08/2016 21:29

audrey you have the best way with words! That did make me chuckle Grin

Danni89 · 17/08/2016 21:31

Hilarious audrey!!

HepKestrel · 17/08/2016 22:20

Audrey Grin

Sodasoda · 17/08/2016 23:02

Miley you're really going through the mill, sounds awful. Glad your OH is being protective and looking after you! Hope you feel better soon.

Ha ha Audrey! Totally with you though - it's weird to tell people you're TTC, you're basically saying 'so we're having unprotected sex a lot by the way' Who wants to know that?!

Bunch sounds as though the stitches are pretty awful. I'm not going to lie, my fanny slightly closes up in terror at the mention of stitches Confused

Leonie hope everything is ok, they seem to be really cautious about doing growth scans which is good and you get to see baby again!

Hep I bought DH commando dad for a little joke present for Father's Day and it seems to have gone down well.

My growth scan went well today and everything was as expected. Baby is currently estimated as 5lb 12oz which apparently is average for 36 weeks so really happy with that. Will next see baby when it's here which feels quite strange and exciting!

Just did a baby order tonight and we've gone for a Stokke grey changing bag that can be a rucksack too - DH keen for something he can use too.

I'm getting my hair done tomorrow and a pedicure and then heading to my friend's to do bridesmaid stuff before the big day on Saturday!

Canters15 · 18/08/2016 03:18

Omg, what the actual fuck is up with this back pain? I dreamt I was in labour and was in so much pain and then woke up and realised it was my back hurting. Its even worse when baby kicks. This had better not be the new normal, how the hell am I meant to get through the next 12 weeks? I hate pregnancy!!!

Feefeefs · 18/08/2016 04:16

Right with you there canters!!!

PotatosMum · 18/08/2016 07:46

Morning ladies, how are you all today?

Miley take it easy, It sounds like your body is telling you you need bed rest and lots of it!!

Soda glad the growth scan went well Smile

Audrey people are bloody weird!

Canters sorry about the rubbish nights sleep. Hope the back pain sods off, is it worth seeing the dr if it's waking you up?Sad

So, it's not even 8am and I've already had a hormonal breakdown all over OH. Exw asked yesterday if we could have DSS for a few days because they're going on a short break to Weymouth and he doesn't want to go. I said yes without thinking only to discover a couple of hours later that the dates start the day after my due date! So I'm either going to have literally just given birth or possibly be just getting ready to go into hospital for induction. I feel really bad and selfish but I don't want either of the elder kids here at that point when I'm going to be pretty fragile. OH doesn't see the problem, he just keeps telling me DSS will keep to himself and won't be a problem Sad I'm sure I'm just hormonal and would normally agree but right now it makes me feel like poo Sad

Oh well, I've got the midwife at 10:15. OHs picking me up and driving me there so I need to try and pull myself together before then.

Morning (has been since 4am for me today!)

Potato - yeah I'd struggle with that the thought of that too, I wouldn't want anyone else in the house at that stage either - no way to backtrack? Good luck at midwife, hope baby is engaging nicely!

Canters that back pain sounds rough - not a uti or anything is it?

X

Pinklily1 · 18/08/2016 08:18

Morning ladies

Sorry to hear about the back pain Canters. Maybe mention it to your midwife next time you go for an appointment, hey might be able to refer you for physio?

Potato, I'm absolutely with you on the DSS visit, I wouldn't be happy with that either and think it's unreasonable of the ex w to ask. How old is DSS? It's all well and good your OH saying he would keep himself to himself, but is he old enough to be left alone at home if you need to go to the hospital? Sorry, I'm angry on your behalf as it reminds me of the parents in law issue me and OH had a while ago.

Hope the midwife appointment today goes well - fingers crossed for baby being engaged Smile

soda, glad the growth scan went well. The pampering sounds lovely! What's your bridesmaid dress like?

BunchOfBobs · 18/08/2016 08:32

Canters that sounds awful definitely mention it to midwife, I second the UTI thoughts.

Miley bed rest!! I've had it for 7 solid days and it's a pain in the arse but you'll feel so much better for it.

Potato back track, regardless put your foot down. I was all for parents being here straight after giving birth and I changed my mind, you already don't want people around. Best to be safe. It is a fragile time and there will be things you don't want DSS walking in on.

Aww Shelb. Insomnia sucks, did the chocolate biscuits help? A few days ago if have been with you on the up watching olympics but I'm now only up for feeds thankfully.

Glad everything went well Soda. enjoy the pampering, it sounds amazing.

leoniethelioness · 18/08/2016 08:33

Potato Sorry to hear that. Given you can't change the situation then I think you'll have to approach it as if he were your son and think about what you would do if you went into labour already having a child. Hopefully you have family nearby who can step in to mind him while you are in hospital. He's probably very excited to meet his new sibling!

PotatosMum · 18/08/2016 08:34

Shelb nope, OH won't backtrack. It's not the same for him and He just doesn't understand why it's a problem.

Pink he's 13, OK to be left during the day but not at night. He's a good kid and he will be living with us soon so I feel bad for not wanting him here on that particular week, but I just thought I'd get at least a week of privacy before I had anyone else around.

FIL will be available on all but one of the nights if we need to go to hospital but I'm still freaking out about it. It's the one thing I have said I didn't want from the start.

I'm now absolutely desperate for the baby to turn up in the next couple of days so I'll at least have next week but I have a horrible feeling I'm going to be out of luck Sad

Bunch Glad the bed rest is helping.

Hopefully my DSis will be well enough to be discharged home today. Cross your fingers, please!
