indi yes but you still go to the gym! I in the other hand move only if necessary Grin I'm sort of relieved as I thought it would be so much more. Think between 2.5-3.5 stone at term is considered average so I think I should be ok. Been off sweet stuff for a week or so but really fancied it today. Still can't eat anywhere near as much as I used to though. Glad you're feeling better! Grin

bunch do you think the padsicles are worth it? I'm thinking of preparing some just incase.

LillianFullStop · 16/08/2016 14:43

miley and bunch - something to look into: some companies offer childcare vouchers to encourage people to go back to work. I know they offer them at DH work. Both parents can get vouchers and you can combine them to help supplement childcare costs - it all helps! I only have my sister here and she works FT so either nursery or childminder are our only options. Anyone else feel a little overwhelmed about leaving LO with nursery or childminder when they're not even born yet? I know it's the reality but I can't help it makes me sad!!! damn preggy hormones Confused

I'm not looking forward to the fanny daggers miley

Thanks for the tips bunch I've got witch hazel so will pick up some tea tree and aloe gel to have on hand Smile

Pinklily1 · 16/08/2016 15:43

Congratulations on your nephew Leonie!

I'm 38 weeks today and baby is apparently the size of a Pomeranian Hmm It's also my last day at work before mat leave so I'm feeling quite cheerful! We got a lovely outfit and a baby bouncer from my colleagues, plus a few other bits, which is great/

Potato, I still have period like pains but nothing more. How are you feeling?

Miley, I have a bath every night when I get in from work to help with the back pain. The warm water is soothing. I think my bump dropped at about 36 weeks, which is also when the midwife first said I was engaged.

Bunch, pleased to hear the pain is more bearable with the antibiotics. Fingers crossed it all clears up quickly.

Dannii, holy cow - a year in advance?! Baby will be looked after by my parents a few days w week but we are going to put her in nursery for a few days too. It hasn't even crossed my mind to start looking at them yet.!

Hi to everyone else!

LisaTheSimpson · 16/08/2016 15:48

Happy last day, Pink! Sounds like you have lovely colleagues!

Dannii - that's terrifying! I figured we would start looking soon after the birth, but hadn't planned to look beforehand. Hmmm....

Danni89 · 16/08/2016 16:04

Yay to last day pink! Glad your colleagues were kind to you.

I know ladies it's frightening... People must call as soon as they get their bloody BFP Hmm

Sodasoda · 16/08/2016 17:40

Hi everyone!

I've missed lots! Having absolutely lovely time with DH on out little break. The weather is amazing and just had a pregnancy massage and now just getting ready for dinner out. Ni drop me a PM if you want hotel details - easy enough from London with a great spa!

Thinking of new
*
Miley* hoping you feel better.

Don't worry re taking antibiotics - I've been taking then daily since early on in pregnancy as a preventative to not get UTIs (under dr orders - I'm not just randomly taking them!)

Lovely news about your nephew leonie
*
Danni* I need to get phoning nurseries Shock

Pink congrats on last day at work jealous!

Bunch glad stitches are feeling better.

Heading home tomorrow, growth scan in the afternoon - will be 36 weeks tomorrow so hope that will be the end of my appointments. Then I'm off for the rest of the week and have 2 more weeks at work before my maternity - can't wait!

Waves to everyone else, sorry if I've missed people.

Sodasoda · 16/08/2016 17:41

Damn the bold!!

Also - today's 'helpful hint' from Ovia was to do some one legged squats. What the fuck??!! I'm 36 weeks pregnant!

PotatosMum · 16/08/2016 17:42

Lillian mine and OHs company offer childcare vouchers so we're both intending to get them. Every little helps!

Pink I'm ok, I seem to have BH just after I get up and again in the evening. I think it's going to be pretty close run between you me and Shelb.

Anyone else starting to worry about New? I hope she's not having a difficult labour Sad

OP posts:
Co5mo · 16/08/2016 18:13

A little bit Potato. I'm hoping New has been so busy with new baby and visitors she hasn't had the time to check in with us.

Dan you will power...Dr Google was a bad idea. I've just made myself worry when I'd been perfectly positive until now.

BunchOfBobs · 16/08/2016 18:24

Potato I'm just thinking she's busy with new baby. It took me a while to get in touch after. Thinking of her so much though.

Soda that's hilarious!!

I work from home so won't be looking into nurseries/childcare etc, when I get work (1-2 weeks at a time) my mum will come for that time and babysit during the day. Obviously he'll eventually go to nursery in prep for school but that won't be needed for a couple of years.

shelbTa · 16/08/2016 18:27

Evening ladies

How hot!!

Well I don't have a UTI Confused so that isn't the cause of anything. I've had some odd tightenings today and few stabby pains right below tummy button. Baby not engaged now. Midwife typically useless and got me in and out quick as possible.

X

HepKestrel · 16/08/2016 18:40

I'm hoping I can use the nursery attached to work. Not thought more than that. But a year waiting list!! Crikey

I have found myself crying at various Olympic clips, and am absolutely knackered. Snuck. Home from work early.

I alternate from feeling pregnant, to just unfit and fat. Keep thinking of poas again, but I don't trust those tricksy sticks!

Pinklily1 · 16/08/2016 20:27

Shelb, was baby engaged before and now the midwife is saying she isn't?

It must be irritating that she rushes you in and out. Mine seems happy to take time with me, but I don't think she's great at explaining things, or doing what it says should be done at each appointment (last time we were apparently meant to discuss a birth plan, she didn't mention it at all).

Hopefully New is enjoying cuddles with her new baby Smile

Miley, sorry to hear about your funny turn, and that you've been sick again. Hope you are tucked up in bed.

It feels so weird having finished work. I've got my 38 week midwife appointment tomorrow, then health visitor on Friday, so a few things to occupy the week.

Soda, glad you are enjoying your break. I can't believe you didn't attempt the one legged lunges though Grin Wink

shelbTa · 16/08/2016 20:46

Apparently so pink! Mine has never mentioned a birth plan, don't even ask how I'm doing.

Miley - must have missed reading you're unwell Flowers hope you feel better soon.

X

Mileymoocow · 16/08/2016 20:52

soda laughing so hard at that! Not a hope in hell!! I'd be mighty impressed if anyone could manage it.

shelb so hot! I have a hot water bottle strapped to my back and a gigantic fan blasting at me because pregnancy can't just be simple.

pink my midwife is much the same. Seems OK but she's just a bit useless at explaining things. Almost like she thinks I've done this before! Enjoy the health visitor experience Grin I was basically told not to shake or smack the baby Hmm

hep are you usually quite weepy? I'm not at all and I cried because there was no hummus left in the supermarket. Definitely a pregnancy thing.

Mileymoocow · 16/08/2016 20:54

Thanks shelb Smile I'm not shaky or sweating a ridiculous amount any more so I do feel a little better. Antibiotics should kick in soon so I'll be back to fighting fit I hope!

shelbTa · 17/08/2016 03:41

Insomnia :-( and hunger to the extent just had to have a 3.30am snack!!

X

IndiX · 17/08/2016 04:32

I'm awake too shelb, been for about 30 wees through out the night Angry

HepKestrel · 17/08/2016 05:59

miley I'm not a weepy person! Crying at sports clips FFS

PotatosMum · 17/08/2016 07:40

Cosmo nooooooo, do not Google! Google is evil!!!

Shelb good that you don't have a UTI but odd that baby is no longer engaged.
I don't always see the same midwife but usually they're not in too much of a rush. You're right though, they're rubbish at explaining things and don't bother with the conversations they're supposed to have like feeding and birth plans.
Sorry the insomnia has got you!
Anyway, how are you feeling today? Any more symptoms?

Hep pregnancy hormones do weird things to you. I once ended up sobbing in the car because I didn't feel like going home but I didn't know where I wanted to go Hmm I am definitely not a cryer!

Pink good luck with your midwife appointment and Yay! to being on maternity leave.
Anymore symptoms today?

Miley hope you're feeling better today.

So, I was woken up this morning by the worlds most painful, crippling leg cramp. I don't get them much but this one was a bastard!
Not so much as a BH this morning so maybe Potato has listened to my instructions about not arriving this week.

I've got my 39 week midwife appointment tomorrow. All being well it will be the last one, I just hope Potato is engaged and if she'd like to turn up this weekend that would be great!! Wink

leoniethelioness · 17/08/2016 07:47

Does anyone else get leg cramps if you stretch your legs in bed at night or in the morning?

Met my nephew last night - he is lovely. 💙💙💙 DSis has to have blood clotting injections for the next ten days due to the blood loss in labour. 😂

In bed waiting for my co-codamol to kick in. I got up about an hour ago and have had breakfast but my hips are sore. Sat in the car for about an hour yesterday and on a bench outside the hospital - not the best decision in hindsight.

34 week midwife appointment today. I'm determined to walk there but it'll take me an age. I'm embarrassed and frustrated by my pace - it's so slow.

Planeteer · 17/08/2016 08:03

Morning all

Leonie am with you on the leg cramps and hip pain. Went to do a luxurious stretch and yawn in bed this morning and ended up flailing around and yelping like a dying bug.

Speaking of bugs. The damn bedbugs are back. And DH is away until Saturday. Not a hope in hell of me being able to lift the mattress, so am resigned to being a bug snack for the rest of the week. It's so gross and so uncomfortable !!! Sad

Feefeefs · 17/08/2016 08:08

I think I will end up moving at 30+ weeks too Lara and planet! I still think it must be easier than moving with a new born.

Soda one legged squats?!?!? That is so funny! I would definitely fall down.

I had the midwife yesterday they're fine up here always the same one and she's nice busy but I don't feel rushed. All just bang on normal here though so I am in and out reasonably quick maybe ~15mins?

I'm having major baby brain this week so sorry if I'm missing posts. Think it's lack of sleep keep having my pelvic/hip pain waking me up! Keep dreaming that I can't walk to the toilet or the escalators are all going the wrong way . . . Boo

leoniethelioness · 17/08/2016 08:14

Oh no, Planet and Feef

My usual midwife is on holiday so I know I'm seeing a different one today. Expecting to be told I'm measuring big but hopefully it'll still just be on my personalised growth chart rather than the generic one.

Time to pull myself together now and slather myself in moisturiser. The stretch marks are undeniable now - at the bottom of my bump underneath where my belly button is. They are quite itchy. Expecting quite a few more in the next 6 weeks!

Mileymoocow · 17/08/2016 08:21

Morning!

potato I am feeling better, thanks! Definitely think I'll be able to go back to work tomorrow. Here's hoping baby potato is all set to come at the weekend!

Yes yes yes! To leg cramps. I sometimes leap out of bed in the middle of the night because if them. I get them if I stretch, too. Have done for most of pregnancy Hmm

leonie I did spy your lovely nephew on Instagram - he's absolutely adorable ❤ surrounded by newborns at the moment, 7 weeks is far too long to wait - I'm sooo jealous!
