New - wow, I didn't realise so much would come out Shock

Leonie, your poor sister. Hopefully things will kick start soon.

BunchOfBobs · 14/08/2016 20:34

New mine came out throughout the entire labour. My bump was half gone when it came to pushing. Also ladies it's not always clear, mine was blood stained from my show. When we first got to hospital I was very kindly wheelchaired through, there was a mega trail of liquid from me and I went through an entire pad and two puppy pads on the drive there too.
How are you feeling? Managed to eat and nap lots?

Leonie intense duo having a monitor on me and baby, it's not as scary as it sounds, hope she's okay and a rest day would be great for her.

Completely felt the same about the "get your rest whilst you can", I haven't had a full
Nights sleep since 5 weeks pregnant. How people expect a heavily pregnant woman to suddenly be able to I have no idea.

Thanks for all the stitches wishes. I'm waiting for the swab results but for now I'm on antibiotics just incase and have been given codeine based pain relief that I'm only going to take a bed time. I don't get on well with it at the best of times and it supposedly makes you drowsy so I think night time is the best time. DH will be on feed watch if I can't stay awake during the feeds.

I've had the loveliest day with Atticus- despite the worst day of pain -we've just had skin on skin all day until 5 where I napped. He's back on me now though dressed and he's just the cuddliest most gorgeous delicious thing ever. Totally worth it all . I think I've fallen for him.

Potato back to bed sounds like a brilliant plan.It could be the start of things. Eek Grin

PotatosMum · 14/08/2016 21:10

Indi I have exactly the same opinion of unwanted baby advice. One of the people who came to quote for the removal service took it upon themselves to give me advice on teething and this product that I just had to get or I would never get through it Hmm he was a dirty, greasy, smoker... Yes, I'll be taking his advice Hmm
And the rest while you can thing is just stupid, have they forgotten for the last couple of weeks you're sleep deprived by the need to wee every half hour? Do they think we assume babies sleep through the night immediately? I'm so glad I finished work before the serious baby talk started.

Canters good on you for having an hours walk! I can't wait for baby to be out so that I can get walking again. At the moment I need a sit down if I walk up the stairs Blush

New I'd heard waters could seem to never end, hope mine wait until I get to hospital but my sisters went at home and she ended up having to stand in the bath while she called the delivery suit Shock

Leonie I hope your sisters baby gets a wriggle on soon. That sounds like my nightmare!

Right, I've stuffed myself stupid on stuffed jackets with cheese and bacon (yum) and decided that tidying the kitchen can wait. We've nearly finished DSSs room, just need to finish off but can do that during the week. I hope things aren't kicking off yet as I'd like a couple more days to do stuff but if they are I'll be glad to be that much closer to being lighter again!!!!

OP posts:
Ni4444 · 14/08/2016 22:35

New this is so exciting!! And thanks for the info re the waters and the pads! I do hope you manage a nap, but that then things move swiftly for you! Xx

Miley I agree, you look fab! Gorgeous colour too! I'll need a dress for a friend's wedding when I'm about 5.5months...any recommendations? Wonder if I should just eBay...

Potato fingers crossed you'll get lighter soon! Wink

Bunch I hope the healing gets back on track for you quickly, and that the pain reduces quickly!

We just bought our first car today Grin We agreed that once a baby was on the way we'd get one. Slightly makes up for losing out on the absolute dream house last week (after it came back on the market following us missing out on it in May!). Just need to bite the bullet and get confident driving in London now!

Sodasoda · 14/08/2016 23:01

Good luck new, so exciting!

Potato I have a feeling you're not going to be far behind! Wink

Miley you look totally fab - not frumpy at all! I'll post a pic of me in bridesmaid dress next week. Happy with my dress but very worried about being able to fit my feet into the high heels the bride has bought me and the other bridesmaids - they are bloody enormous Shock

Indi totally agree that baby chat is dull. I've always found babies generally quite dull to be honest! But I'm assured that your own baby is fascinating!!

Had my first 'how long have you got left' questions from strangers this weekend rather than 'how far are you'. Feeling VERY pregnant currently.

Last day of NCT today and was much better than last week. We've got a whatsapp group set up too leonie. Not sure that we'll all become best mates but I'm sure we'll meet up. I hope your niece / nephew hurries up!

Ni I was in the same boat as you re driving in London - I booked a refresher course with BSM and it was great. I've been practising lots since then and really feel pretty confident now although my parking is still pretty shaky!

I'm away for a few days with DH to celebrate our wedding anniversary. Last time away together just the two of us!! Gorgeous spa hotel so lots of relaxing and I've got a pregnancy massage booked in too Smile

LillianFullStop · 14/08/2016 23:38

oh wow new how exciting! hope things progress quickly and smoothly for you Smile!!

miley you look great!

bunch hope antibiotics work their magic and sorts out the issue with the stitches! your newborn cuddles sound amazing it makes me excited for my little bee coming in a couple of months!

audrey shocker about the dog bite - and from a little dog too! hope you've been checked out and given the all clear.

soda I think I need to get some driving practice in too. i haven't driven and we haven't owned or needed a car for the last 8 years so I'm quite sure I've forgotten how! might get some practice on a zip car as we're considering buying a car now.

welcome hep! hope you get some reassurance on your dates and they send you off for an early scan. especially if there is a possibility you could be 16 weeks they wouldn't want you to miss the window for 12w and 20w scans.

so last night i had waves of period pain and was paranoid I was going into preterm labour (I'm only 30w). I say waves because it came and then disappeared and came again. I was half asleep and tried to time it but promptly fell asleep instead - woke up to no period pain at all so i guess it was nothing! so for those having trouble sleeping I've found counting off your aches and pains do help a bit to lull you to sleep haha. was that Braxton Hicks? i thought they weren't meant to hurt but are more like a tightening feeling?

PotatosMum · 15/08/2016 02:41

Ni congrats on the new car. What did you get?

Soda glad NTC was better. Enjoy your break Grin

Lillian my early BH did feel like period pains but now they just feel like tightening. In fact the sensation changed from one to the other so quickly that at first I thought the tightening ones were Potato having a massive stretch Confused

Guess who had insomnia Hmm

OP posts:
BunchOfBobs · 15/08/2016 02:54

Sorry you have insomnia potato.
This sleepyhead really is ama img. My boobs have woken me rather than Atticus, so dream feed it is Grin

IndiX · 15/08/2016 05:12

I'm also in the wide-awake gang. Been awake since 4am.

Any updates new? Hope you're doing ok!

Bunch I think I'll be getting one of the sleepyheads, they sound like a miracle worker! Are your boobs really sore? And does it hurt a lot when you breastfeed? Ive heard mixed reports on how sore your boobs are when feeding

shelbTa · 15/08/2016 06:25

Morning ladies

I'm in the early wake up gang today.

Sounds good bunch! Have you got a breast pump for when the girls get too full? It's the one thing we didn't buy.

Hope you managed to sleep potato.

38 weeks today!! Omg!

X

shelbTa · 15/08/2016 06:26

Hope you slept too indi!! X

BunchOfBobs · 15/08/2016 06:30

Indi it doesn't hurt to feed stall. The first couple of sucks I'm very aware of but that's it really. Boobs just ache and get hard in between feeds. It really is a miracle worker!!

No breast pump Shelb but think I may invest as I seem to have a lot of milk as hey don't go down at feeds really atall.

New hope you had a comfortable night.

PotatosMum · 15/08/2016 07:25

Morning ladies, how are you doing today?

Shelb welcome to the second two week wait ShockWink

New how are you doing? Any change?

I've been getting some quite strong BH but no increase in regularity and no other symptoms so I think I've got a while left. They have changed though so that they start at the top of my bump and travel all the way down to my hips and when I'm having them my lungs feel tight, I can talk and stuff and they don't hurt... It's hard to explain, at first I thought Potato was pushing on my lungs with her feet Confused Midwife appointment is Thursday, I'll be absolutely flabbergasted if she says I'm still not engaged as I think my bump has visibly dropped.

OP posts:
shelbTa · 15/08/2016 07:47

Potato - they sound a bit promising don't they, starting at the top and working down?!

Arrg, sat here on sofa with waves of period pain, just been on ball to try and ease it but desperate to go for a walk - it's only 7.50 though! OH is still in bed sleeping having watched the tennis late into the night.

X

Mileymoocow · 15/08/2016 08:05

Sooooooo many babies to come! potato go get a Phal for your breakfast Wink shelb uh...could this also be the start?

Taken a day off today, I have horrible swollen glands and sore ears. Maybe because I'm run down and exhausted.

bunch what a good boy you have! He sounds like an absolute dream. I really want baby snuggles with him! You sound like you're doing so well I had no doubts you would you're my definite go-to when I have little crumb.

Feefeefs · 15/08/2016 08:10

Hope things start soon for your sister leonie!

My friend gave birth this morning! 4.5 weeks early in her own words took all the drugs so it was lovely and calm but ended up back to back so had forceps and suction in the end. Baby in special care unit but doing well.

Ni4444 · 15/08/2016 08:18

Potato we got a Seat Leon....wanted a VW golf, but the Seat has the same engine but came with all the extras (a/c, sat nav, parking sensors!) Love it! Gonna drive to work tomorrow as I work til 8pm on Tuesdays...this should more than half my commute Grin

Soda (or other ladies!) I definitely want us to have a night away in November for OHs bday /little treat for us before baby comes. Any recommendations on hotels that have pregnancy-friendly spa's /massages? We're in London so something within a 90min drive would be perfect!

Does anyone else struggle to get out of bed in the morning? Second trimester and I just wake up so tired! I don't feel tired during the day though!

leoniethelioness · 15/08/2016 08:22

Good luck, girls!

My sister has moved to the labour ward so hopefully she will have her baby soon. She's been in since 10 am on Saturday. One 24 hour pessary and two gel pessaries later... Bunch She has a lot of anxiety about the baby's movements so she's really reassured by the idea of a monitor. Hope baby Atticus is doing well. You are making me seriously contemplate forking out for the Sleepyhead. Would you mind taking a photo of him in it at some point?

Hope you're doing well, New!

ElleSarcasmo · 15/08/2016 09:19

Morning all!

Congratulations on 38 weeks Shelb! Sounds like things might be starting to happen?

Potato that sounds promising too. Fx the midwife will find baby Potato nicely engaged on Thursday. Is it the end of this week she needs to hang on until for your OH work?

Ni very exciting about the new car! They look like they have a decent size boot.

Hope things go well and quickly for your sister today Leonie.

Miley hope you feel better soon.

Soda hope you have a lovely time!

25 weeks today and apparently the baby is the size of a cabbage! I've got a midwife appt today, hopefully everything's ok in there.

PotatosMum · 15/08/2016 10:21

Shelb they're promising BHs but very irregular and come and go with no pattern.
Your period pains also sound quite promising. Hopefully there'll be three new thread babies soon! Grin

Miley sorry you're feeling poorly. Hope it passes soon. Take it easy.

Feef forceps and suction, my new two least favourite words!

Ni enjoy the new car! OH is desperate to get his new car, I can't remember what he wants to get but it's a little hot hatch. His exw used to dictate to him what car he had to get and it took all the fun out of it for him so I've said he can have whatever makes him happy... As long as it has 4 doors and 5 seats Wink
I struggle getting out of bed in the morning but that's more because I'm like a turtle trying to roll itself upright Confused

Leonie hope your sister has her baby soon. Fingers crossed!!!

Elle congrats on 25 weeks Grin yes, ideally we'd like Potato to stay put until the end of the week, both for work and so we can finish the DIY Confused but it's not the end of the world if she doesn't.

And in other news... I just had the police knock on the door looking for the previous owners Hmm she was very pleasant and made sure I knew it was in relation to a traffic accident not anything sinister but I've also received a few demands for parking tickets for them. It's not doing anything for my opinion of the type of people they were!

I'm so tired again today. I didn't sleep great and just want to sit on the sofa and vegetate! Luckily I only need to clean the kitchen and put dinner on today, anything else can wait until I feel more energetic.

OP posts:
BunchOfBobs · 15/08/2016 10:32

Leonie glad to hear she's reassured.
We've got DHs tshirt over it, to keep it clean if he's sick and so it smells one of us, we change it every day.

Miley bless you thank you.

Feefs I hope baby gets out of the special unit soon.

BunchOfBobs · 15/08/2016 10:33

The photo would help wouldn't it?!

Thread #10 - TTC#1 Grads Thread - Babies Ahoy
shelbTa · 15/08/2016 10:43

Love it bunch!!! Can I ask what the cover is on the magical sleepyhead - is that a purpose bought one or just towels? I'll take a photo of my contraption later

X

leoniethelioness · 15/08/2016 11:01

Bunch He looks so cosy! Do you think it'll last until he's 8 months old? Looks snug.

DSis has had her waters broken and is being put on an induction drip. She's hooked up to the monitors and seems well. Ladies, this is my idea of an awful labour. I'm really hoping I can have as few interventions as possible. My sister is reassured being in hospital but it sounds so stressful to me! Hoping for a niece or nephew by midnight... 😄😄😄

shelbTa · 15/08/2016 11:09

Leonie - good luck to your dsis! Hear you though - induction drip is what I'm dreading to be honest. Knowing me I'll end up with one though!! My friend is actually an anaesthetist and he says when they mention induction drip to you that is the time to firmly request an epidural - not later, as it goes from 0-1000 pain wise pretty quick. Easy to say from the comfort of sofa though isn't it....
