I feel like I have way more energy than normal. Zooming around the place!

finova · 03/08/2016 19:21

Not sure when telling...had planned to book an early scan and tell family after that.
Might not bother with scan though so not sure whether to wait till 12 week scan. I don't have many symptoms apart from tiredness (so far and in previous preg so doesn't feel 'real').
I'll be in no rush to tell work. Thinking 14 weeks ish for them!

Bellatrixandstrange · 03/08/2016 21:21

My dp is so scared that something will go wrong he wants to wait until the middle if October. He's decided that is the magic time after which all will be well! Hmm when are you telling? It doesn't feel real yet so definitely don't feel ready!

SussexNadia · 03/08/2016 22:26

My sisters and 2 best friends know. We are telling our parents next week (7 weeks in).

I'm probably tell work at 10 weeks just because I'm a teacher and I think it's probably the best thing to do work wise as I'll be leaving before the exam period unfortunately.

I'll probably then tell other people after our 12 week scan. I'm not going to do a Facebook announcement or anything just tell people as I feel like it.

Does anyone know what happens at the booking in appointment? X

rausten · 04/08/2016 05:55

Susses nadia. I'm the same as you. Some family knows but thats it, but will be telling work at 10 weeks as I'm a teacher too :)

SussexNadia · 04/08/2016 06:51

rausten are you primary or secondary?
I don't know why I feel such guilt being pregnant. I think it's just because timetables are done and I know I'll be leaving A Level and GCSE at such a crucial point. We have also found it impossible to recruit so I'm dreading that time. Also doesn't help being a subject leader as I know the results will all still be my responsibility!

everdene · 04/08/2016 06:58

I'm not sure when to tell my family - I am seeing them next weekend but will only be seven weeks.

May not see them all together until Christmas though (we are scattered across the UK), but I feel if I tell them I will have to tell my IL v soon too.

My MIL was quite troublesome during my SIL's pregnancy and managed to spend the entire time tearful and anxious as she had worked herself into a massive state. Really don't want that for this pregnancy and DH is already talking about how he is going to manage her when she starts making it all about herself which seems fairly inevitable.

smiles01 · 04/08/2016 07:33

Ive told work already because I've had several miscarriages so wanted them to be aware as I'll need time off for extra early appointments.

I'll probably tell my mum and close family after my 9 week scan when we see the heartbeat. Then everyone else after the 12 week scan.

MrsBellefleur · 04/08/2016 07:41

I want to tell everyone now! The only person im hesitant on telling is my mum as I don't think she will be very happy for us so I'm waiting until September to tell people. I've told my 2 best friends at work but that's it. Might tell work when I get my first scan app if it's on a working day so I get the paid time off for it. Telling my in laws just before I'm twelve weeks I think as we are going on holiday with them.

LotsaTuddles · 04/08/2016 07:51

Told PiLs and my mum, because they were conveniently in the same room last Friday. They're all aware about previous mc's so that's not too bad.

Have told a couple of really close friends too. But that's it. Everyone else will be told after scan

summerskittles91 · 04/08/2016 08:26

Morning everyone :) We've told in laws (as we live together) and because of previous MC we thought best to tell them early so everyone is cautious. Haven't told parents yet.. going to wait till 12 week scan and tell them i think. Just to be safe. Want to book an early scan at 8/9 weeks but not sure yet. Is anyone else booking a private early scan?

Not sure when to tell work.. I have an office job so not really urgent. as long as sickness doesnt get bad during the day I think it should be ok for a couple of weeks.

zambean · 04/08/2016 09:31

I want to tell everyone but I know that would be silly and I don't want to jinx it. Going to tell my sister this weekend, and maybe one or two other close family members, but after that will probably wait until the scan to properly go public.

muchtodobutstopforcuddles · 04/08/2016 10:23

I'm going to see if I can wait until 12 weeks to tell friends and family. I don't know if I'll manage though. The morning sickness last time meant I couldn't hide it!! I'll have to tell work sooner as there's a fair few 'dangers' at work that I'll have to avoid.

rausten · 04/08/2016 11:10

Sussex nadia at the moment I'm primary but with my first I was head of music at a secondary school. So I get the angst. This time it's just as bad as I cover ppa time and thats gonna be hard for them to cover without me lol x

DeliciouslyHella · 04/08/2016 11:15

We've told both sets of parents and I've told my previous bus from here.

I'll tell work at 10 or 11 weeks depending on when my NT scan is. I'm a teacher, so am not back at work until I'm 10 weeks.

We then will just tell everyone else after the scan. I'm 12 weeks the same day my daughter turns 1, and it would be lovely to share that news then.

BestBeastie · 04/08/2016 12:49

Hi there - can I join?

I tested a few days early and got a BFP - the EDD is 13 April on one of those app things. I'm really only 4 weeks...seems so far to go!

I'm delighted, but cautious - I know a lot can go wrong. And the fact that I stopped feeling symptom-y this morning (whereas before I probably could identify a lot of positive cramping, stretching, and hormonal surges) made me worry.

So I've decided to join up again. It'll help me think about it as more 'real' (DH unwilling to engage with it yet just in case all goes wrong)..

Have a 4yo DS already - this is going to be a big gap, but I hope that works for us. I've told a couple of friends already - the people I will rely on anyway if things didn't work out for us - but thinking of having an 8 week scan before I tell my parents.

A big wave to everyone - early days on the pregnancy bus, fingers crossed.

ScandiManny · 04/08/2016 16:14

Hello and congratulations to those with new bfp's Smile

6 weeks tomorrow and the nausea has well and truly kicked in here over the last few days. Haven't actually been sick yet (I give it 2/3 more days) but I've just had to get my shift covered at work tonight because every time I stand up or move at all really the waves of nausea come thick and fast.

We've told no one yet. Not a single person. I couldn't wait to tell with the older 2 but I just don't want to this time, strange Confused

finova · 04/08/2016 17:11

Congrats new people.
I'm the same...1st 2 told others quite soon. This one keeping quiet for now. Want to enjoy it ourselves for a while I think.

Hello ladies,

Popping my head in to say hello after getting my BFP today. From what I've worked out I'll be due around 13th April 2017. Very, very exciting but completely nerve racking at the same time! I have a toddler at home so the age gap will be nice.
Congratulations to everyone!!!!
Yey April babies!! Fx for sticky beans
