Hi, first time using this sort of thing so not up to speed with abbreviations though know some. Apologies if I use them wrong.
Very early days here but day 29 of 30 day cycle, 1st month TTC and got faint line this am on preg test. I think I ovulated around day 14-16 so I'm my head I'm about 2 weeks however do I count from LMP therefore I'm 4 weeks? Confused

Cineraria · 28/07/2016 07:45

Congratulations to the newcomers!

Yes, you have to count from LMP, so two weeks since conception is for four weeks pregnant as due date is timed as being 40 weeks since LMP. Funny to think that no one is ever one or two weeks pregnant.

Celen I've everything crossed for you. Welcome Flowers

ElizabethS22 · 28/07/2016 07:54

Hi everyone Smile
I found out last week, 6 days before period due that I'm pregnant. Due 2nd April feeling very nervous due to previous mc's.
Would be great to talk you guys who are due around the same time as we are trying to keep this to ourselves until we have had a reassurance scan! X

drinkyourmilk · 28/07/2016 07:56

Nadia I'm a Sussex girl too!

I'm very nervous too smiles, have an early scan booked for 12th August.

bellyrubgirl · 28/07/2016 10:02

Thanks Cineria. I'm going to do a few more tests over the weekend just to confirm before I contact my Dr. I'm in two minds about whether to actually make an appointment with Dr or jus ring the surgery and ask to be put on midwifed list? Ah I'm so green about what needs doing! Confused

drinkyourmilk · 28/07/2016 10:07

Have a look on your local NHS Trust website- they tell you what to do. Most places ask you to self refer, then you get a booking in appointment in the post for between 8-10 weeks

bellyrubgirl · 28/07/2016 10:55

Thanks. Tentatively excited Smile

LotsaTuddles · 28/07/2016 12:20

Those who are having early scan due to previous miscarriage. When will you need to book it?

The nurse in our epu said I just need to call to get one around 7-8 weeks, but I forgot to ask when to call to book it Confused.

I'm debating calling now, but don't want to get laughed out of there

drinkyourmilk · 28/07/2016 12:24

Just call and ask. My early scan is because it's an ivf pregnancy- so they do a viability scan.
We are planning on having another before the nhs 12 week one at around 10 weeks - but I think will need to do it privately. I'm going to call the epu and ask though. They will have heard it before.

Can I join here? I did write in the March thread, but as I think it'll be end of March, I could also be April!

From my calculations, I was 5 weeks yesterday. This is my first pregnancy, so it's all new to me and unsure what to expect so it's great reading all your symptoms. I haven't felt much up till now. I have been sleeping quite badly, I think down to worrying if it's real?! My boobs feel normal, I get the odd wave of feeling sick but that passes really quickly.

Have a doctors appointment this weekend to get the ball rolling.

Looking forward to hearing everyones journeys Grin

LotsaTuddles · 28/07/2016 15:56

I called. Need to call halfway through 6th week and they'll book it.

Still not many symptoms Shock I'm usually that woman who's sick from day 1. I have the odd feeling of nausea and was sick the other night, have tingly boobs occasionally but definitely have the extra discharge (tmi sorry) so that's something I guess

drinkyourmilk · 28/07/2016 17:11

Hi Jess, my doctor didn't want to know. Self referral to midwifery service from 6.5 weeks.

Lotsa- my symptoms come and go. I work in an office, so not much moving around. When I'm at home I'm far more active and get more symptoms. They say that symptoms more commonly occur from 6 weeks on, and some ladies never get any at all. Pee on a cheap stick if you are worried. My husband has banned me from buying more Grin

Cineraria · 28/07/2016 17:48

We have to see our GP to get a referral to maternity services. I'm going next week. They just check general health and that you are taking folic acid, eating well, not smoking or drinking etc. Then you get a letter in the post with the date of the first midwife appointment at the local hospital, around 8-10 weeks and another for the 12 week scan at a bigger hospital that has a specialist scanning unit.

LotsaTuddles · 28/07/2016 20:48

Drink, I'm not too worried (for some unknown reason - I'm a worrier). I definitely feel pregnant. Feel very tight, tired and waves of nausea

LotsaTuddles · 28/07/2016 21:03

Plus this turd won't leave me alone. He HAS to be touching me. Even if it's just a paw or his tail.

Sofa one is right now, floor one I was sorting a cupboard out earlier

drinkyourmilk · 28/07/2016 21:22

Lotsa - that is very cute!

SussexNadia · 28/07/2016 21:37

Well my nausea kicked in today. I don't know why it's called "morning" sickness as it's definitely not morning now!

LotsaTuddles · 28/07/2016 22:01

He is cute. It's a pita that he's constantly under my feet, but cute still. I can't walk him either, he won't let people walk towards me Hmm

The soppiest, dopiest Labrador and he turns into a guard dog when I'm at the other end of the lead.

drinkyourmilk · 28/07/2016 22:13

My parents dog was like that with my mum. He was my best friend when I was young, slept under my cot and was never away from my side.have a lovely photo of when I was about 3 sharing an ice cream with him (bleugh! But still. ..)

RebeccaCloud9 · 29/07/2016 01:38

I thoroughly enjoyed licking the bowl after baking a cake yesterday following the latest FSA recommendations re raw/runny eggs! Completely avoided them last time!

Flowers5 · 29/07/2016 06:11

For those of you thinking about an early scan, I found this on Groupon. I going to wait to see when my NHS scan is, but I thought this was very cheap Wink

drinkyourmilk · 29/07/2016 07:12

Ooh, thanks. Off to look on Groupon.

DeliciouslyHella · 29/07/2016 07:43

Hi everyone,

Congratulations! Can I join in please? Found out yesterday I am pregnant, EDD 3.4.17. That makes me 4+4 today (or is it 4+5?).

This is my second pregnancy. My DD is 10 months old, so there will be an 18 month gap between her and this baby. Argh. Awkwardly, I've only just returned to work from maternity leave!

smiles01 · 29/07/2016 07:54

I've got an early scan booked in for Monday when I'll be 5+5, I was too anxious to hold off. Hoping I get to see the heartbeat!

Anyone else had/ having a really really early scan?
