I've completely gone off sweet foods, and chocolate makes me vomit. Would be ok if I hadn't replaced it with a million packets of crisps.

Jones1980 · 14/08/2016 19:33

My mom said I could be carrying a boy because of the food I been eating loving fruit at moment oranges are my favourite sweets brings on nausea but I can eat ice cream

Mummymulb16 · 14/08/2016 19:40

I hate sweet things aswell but really crave for fruits like strawberries and grapes but not too sweet otherwise make me gag and salivate more! This nausea is just horrible why can't I just be one of those women who has no symptoms.

JennyOfOldstones · 14/08/2016 19:41

If my last pregnancy is anything to go by my nausea should kick in around week 6 and be gone by week 10. Last time I couldn't eat anything sweet, even breakfast cereal. I lived on cheese on toast and cheesy chips. Totally agree it is like being hungover.

Helbelle75 · 14/08/2016 19:46

Ooh, how do I change the theme on Ovia?
I'm been feeling nauseous today, not so bad I've not been able to eat, but definitely didn't feel sick at all last time so I'm seeing this as a plus.

jobrum · 14/08/2016 19:50

busy I discovered asmr videos in my last pregnancy when I was suffering really bad migraines a couple of times a week. There's an app called Love Asmr so you can just listen to the audio and do other things on your phone. They soothe my migraine addled brain.

wibble obviously only you know how much you're bleeding but I had a light period at the beginning of this pregnancy and the last. Hope eveything goes ok Flowers

BusyNothings · 14/08/2016 19:54

helbelle if you click on the picture next to the hand on the home page there should be an option there!

I'm still a poppy seed! Worried that I'm coming up to 5 weeks and no signs of nausea but also know how stupid that is. Wishing for nausea my logical brain is very confused!

Ooh thanks jobrum I'll have a look for that!

jpeg28 · 14/08/2016 20:01

mummymulb I wild honestly love to have nausea! I need something to tell me this pregnancy is different to when I miscarried! I'm sure I'll regret saying that if I do get really sick!

busy I'm a poppy seed too Smile my mum had no sickness at all with any of her pregnancies... Maybe we are the lucky ones.

BusyNothings · 14/08/2016 20:07

JPEG I doubt I'm that lucky lol but I am worried that it's not going to go well if it doesn't kick in soon. My mum keeps trying to convince me I'm fine as I have so many other symptoms.

I'm sure it'll be here in no time driving us nuts.

Prive120 · 14/08/2016 20:12

The nausea seems to come and go for me so far as I only 5wks. Yesterday I really struggled and today I am starving but I'm struggling with oil... Had a roast dinner at our favourite restaurant and couldn't stomach the yorkie. It was their normal beautiful Yorkshire pudding, big and crispy. But all I could taste was the oil it had cooked in (you couldn't even see any oil so it was just me). such a waste to leave it so I gave it to DH... Now he realises how sensitive I'm being as its unheard of for me to leave a Yorkshire pudding! Food if the gods Sad
I'm also being a moody b1tch. Poor DH!

MyGreenSofa · 14/08/2016 20:19

Hi ladies! I'd like to join you. I got my BFP a few days ago and according to ovia am 5+5. Due date is April 11th at the mo. This is number 2, have DD who is 23 months tomorrow!

I might feel slightly less anxious than last time, but still find these early days very difficult as you just don't know what way's up! So far have had sore boobs and felt a bit nauseous but not too much yet. Kicked in for me around 6/7 weeks last time. My cycle is usually longer than 28 days so I imagine I'm not quite 5+5 yet.

Theknittinggorilla · 14/08/2016 20:21

I'm a poppy seed too Smile.
Nausea definitely staring to come in for me, plus headache. Last two pregnancies I ate A LOT of toast and crisps. I might just go for folic acid and vit d rather than pregnacare and am still planning to hydrate hydrate hydrate! No food cravings yet - the only real craving I had previously was cherry tomatoes randomly.

Theknittinggorilla · 14/08/2016 20:35

Oh and does anyone else look pregnant already?! I'm mortified. This is my third baby and I am starting off about a stone heavier than I normally am, but i have immediately bloated up massively and it looks like a proper pregnancy belly! Think my stomach muscles have given up completely this time. Lord knows how I'm going to hide this for another 8 weeks....

BusyNothings · 14/08/2016 20:44

Say having a bad reaction to something but not sure what knitting lol my mum looks pregnant when she eats certain foods. Bloated and proper round it's an excuse I plan on using if it turns up.

Helbelle75 · 14/08/2016 20:59

Thanks BusyNothings - sorted it.

Jaffacakes1234 · 14/08/2016 21:02

Knitting in the same, with my 3rd it was very hard to hide and I have an instant bump this time! I've also lost nearly 5 stone so it's even more obvious ( to me!)

Jaffacakes1234 · 14/08/2016 21:05

Anyone else doing slimming world? I've lost nearly 5 stone since Xmas and I'm very nearly my pre children weight of 6 years ago, really want to stay on top of it as I put on 6 stone with my first and never lost it until now.... Apparently slimming world is fine to do, as I'm a healthy weight my focus is on not gaining until the third trimester, don't know if it's possible but the consultant says she's seen people do it.

SussexNadia · 14/08/2016 21:08

Wow, haven't been on for a few days and so many newbies! Congratulations everyone!!

As for nausea, I got it really badly during week 5...for the whole day. I hated it and really struggled staying positive as just wanted the nausea to be over.

Then I woke up towards the end of week 6 with nothing for about 4 days. No sore boobs, no sickness and surprisingly I wanted it back. I was so anxious that I wasn't pregnant (I did another test) or there was something wrong.

But now I'm 7+4 and its back! Although I hate it, I've realised that its very difficult having no symptoms as well as it does make you worry.

So as bloody difficult as the nausea is take comfort in he fact you feel pregnant.

I hope it goes well for everyone!

Helbelle75 · 14/08/2016 21:22

I'm doing Slimming World jaffacakes and am going to have a chat to my consultant tomorrow. I gained a stone in my last pregnancy (sadly ended in mc) and have lost that stone, which was my aim before ttc again. I would like to gain weight healthily and I love the sw way of doing things.

marmitecheesetoast · 14/08/2016 21:57

Hope your gp appointment goes well tomorrow too topkitty. And I'm sure the pain is just because of that, hopefully things will be, erm, moving again shortly!

I feel strangely nervous about appointment tomorrow, guess it makes it a bit more real of a sudden. Still kinda feel like I'm playing make believe right now!

Ovia says I'm now up to a black peppercorn!

jpeg28 · 14/08/2016 21:59

That's amazing jaffa to lose 5 stone!!! I was thinking of joining slimming world before I found out I was pregnant. I could do with losing a stone. I've found some menu plans and workouts on Pinterest for pregnancy so I'm going to try and follow those in the hope I don't put on too much weight. Ideally I would love to lose weight in the first few months.

BusyNothings · 14/08/2016 22:01

I'm sure you'll be fine marmite! Have to let us know how you get on!

finova · 14/08/2016 22:33

Admittedly this is my 3rd pregnant....and I might have evening bloat but I am HUGE for 5+5!
I've edited my face out but this is me 10 days ago, (I had a flat stomach pre pregnancy), and the pyjama photo is me now!!

BusyNothings · 14/08/2016 22:39

Wow! No idea what to say but that was quick finova are you bloated or struggling?

I'm having a bit of a panic. I've had exhaustion insomnia body aches and serious food aversion and loss of appetite for about two weeks now. Woke up this morning feeling the same. But by late this evening I had my appetite back, felt awake, no body aches or anything. I still have the boobs and nipples from hell but nothing else. I'm freaking out about. I will be spot on 5 weeks tomorrow. Is this normal? Did anyone else experience symptoms just stopping?

finova · 14/08/2016 22:44

Ha, wondered how people could respond politely after I posted that! No I don't feel gassy or bloated....though I know bumps always look bigger at night than in the morning.
I'm sure I wasn't this size till much later previously. I'm hoping it's just lax muscles and not quads!
I'm also planning to hide from work till my 12 week scan...

I think symptoms can come and go. I don't have a whole lot except tiredness, dizziness every now and then and I've gone off cakes and biscuits.
