Hi marmite

I've got a holiday coming up with other people, who are notoriously bad at keeping secrets, and I'm umming and ahhing about what to say too. It will be so obvious when I'm not drinking (I like a glass of wine or two) and I also don't want to lie. It's so difficult, isn't it!

With the job interview - if I were you, I'd go ahead with the interview. As others have said, you don't have to accept and could use it to get s pay rise. Or, if you do get offered it, you could be honest and say that you've just found out you're pg and don't think you should take the job and see what their reaction is. If they don't want you to take it they will prob just say congratulations and thank you for being honest or they could surprise you and say that they still would like you to take the role.

Good luck with everything!

Is anyone taking the Sanatogen mum to be vitamins?

I think they're ok so far, but very tempted to take just folic acid and vitamin d separate.

LotsaTuddles · 11/08/2016 10:34

I've been taking either sainsburys or pregnancare multivitamins depending which pack I pick up. And 75mg aspirin because it's supposed to lower the risk of miscarriage.

zambean · 11/08/2016 10:38

I'm taking separate folic acid and vitamin D. I'm not prepared to pay the stupid multivit prices!

I'm EXHAUSTED today, and nauseous, which I haven't had yet. I may use it as an excuse to crack open the ginger biscuits.

Marmite I agree with TopKittyKat - you should definitely go to the interview!

gemsbok · 11/08/2016 10:39

Congrats to all the new BFPs, we're getting nice and busy now :-)

I'm trying to stay positive, but keep worrying something will go wrong. Can't wait to get to the 12 week scan so I can start blabbing. My waist is definitely expanding quicker this time round!

I've been taking tesco preggo vitamins. Those wilko ones are much cheaper though - I'll swap once I've run out!

LotsaTuddles · 11/08/2016 10:47

Early scan booked for next Wednesday at 9:55 will be 6+6

summerskittles91 · 11/08/2016 10:50

Good luck LotsaTuddles Keep us posted on how it goes.

I'm tempted to book one for Monday (ill be 7 weeks), a place near where I work does it for £60, and they try abdominally first and if they cant get a clear enough image they do internal one too.

choccybiscuit · 11/08/2016 12:23

Good luck with the scan lotsatuddles! I still had a little pink spotting when I woke up this morning, I'm also having to pee in the middle of the night and once I wake up I find it difficult to get back to sleep. Congrats to all the new bfp's!

marmitecheesetoast · 11/08/2016 12:29

Hi kittycat and zambean thanks for the advice. The problem is my current place can't counter-offer really (public sector, very strict pay grade boundaries, which I'm already at the top of). And it's on Tuesday which means I've no time to prepare over the weekend with being away doing this flipping bridesmaid dress shopping. argh. Just feeling so overwhelmed with everything right now, don't know if i'm putting too much on myself.

Definitely a good excuse to crack out the ginger biscuits zambean, I love them at the best of times!

marmitecheesetoast · 11/08/2016 12:31

When are you going on the holiday kittycat? Are they close friends? This is why my parents will be cotton on I reckon, would be almost unheard of for me not have a glass of wine or two over the weekend Hmm

Jaffacakes1234 · 11/08/2016 12:37

Hello! Can I join? I think I'm 6 weeks, however 2 of my pregnancies I have been a week more when I went to my scan and also this will be a planned section at 39 weeks so likely to be a very late March baby really!!
This is my 4th and final baby :-) I have a 5 year old, a 4 year old and a 16 month old :-)

LuchiMangsho · 11/08/2016 12:40

Hello all, I'm 35, got a BFP last week for my 2nd child. First one is nearly 4.5 years old so a big age gap. I've had a MMC at 12 weeks after an entirely normal pregnancy so I am terrified that this will happen again.

Due date: 14th April. Part of my terror is that I have no symptoms really (TBH I never do, not even with my first), so no sickness, boobs are only slightly tender and I don't 'feel' pregnant. Needless to say I have POAS-ed endlessly to make sure I wasn't imagining it.

I'm travelling to Europe with the family tomorrow for a week or so and I have an early scan booked in for the 28th of August when I will be 7+1w.

MissMooMoo · 11/08/2016 12:50

Im also going on holiday to see my parents accross the pond for 2 weeks.
No way i can get away without drinking wine for all that time! I will have to tell them.
DH wants to wait and tell his family after the 12 week scan

TopKittyKat · 11/08/2016 13:14

marmite - yes, they are close friends. I just don't think I can trust them not to blurt something out and tell someone they shouldn't. I don't think they would do it intentionally but they have form for letting things slip. The holiday is in Sept and likely to be a couple of weeks before my scan.
Dilemma!
I guess it serves me right for being an old lush!!!
I think I'll wait and see nearer the time and maybe book in an early scan and if all is well then tell them.

TopKittyKat · 11/08/2016 13:15

It's funny that so many of us are travelling and having similar dilemmas. I guess it's that time of year.

It's easier to come up with excuses for the odd night out.

Bubbinsmakesthree · 11/08/2016 13:38

Last time I was pregnant it was just before Christmas - I had loads of Christmas parties to negotiate, which weren't too bad - I just nursed the same glass of wine all night and no-one noticed (or at least were too polite to comment). We got an early scan before we went to stay with family for a week so we could share the news.

I have just made an excuse to get out of a dinner party hosted by a friend - he's French and I know from previous experience that it'll be wall-to-wall unpasteurised cheese, pate, and other forbidden delicacies. I could blag not drinking but I've got no excuse for avoiding Camembert!

choccybiscuit · 11/08/2016 14:09

Same here, wedding to go to in two weeks and the whole family is going. They will definitely notice no drinking and I really don't want anyone to know. The only excuse case I could think of was I have a headache! No idea what to say Confused

marmitecheesetoast · 11/08/2016 14:12

choccy Ive found UTI has been a good one so far for - also covers frequent trips to the loo!! Wink

ScandiManny · 11/08/2016 15:12

I've been using the UTI excuse too Marmite Working brilliantly with work colleagues as it explains the throwing up at work last week and the continuing not drinking (antibiotics!) Smile

TopKittyKat · 11/08/2016 16:17

UTI is brilliant. I'm going to have to use that one. It will explain multiple loo visits as well Grin

TopKittyKat · 11/08/2016 16:18

I don't mean UTI Is brilliant! The excuse is brilliant. God, I hope I haven't jinxed myself into getting a UTI now... I am prone to them

summerskittles91 · 11/08/2016 16:21

Has anyone else actually been physically sick? I have twice today and I still fill uneasy, I'm hungry but don't feel like eating, and my stomach is just uncomfortable.

MissMooMoo · 11/08/2016 16:48

I just went to the loo and noticed when I wiped that I had some rust coloured blood.
Just a few wipes and it was gone.
Have put a liner on and im praying its not the start of a mc.
I dont have any cramps of pain.

TopKittyKat · 11/08/2016 16:51

Oh no MissMooMoo - I've got fingers crossed for you! Have you history of spotting? I hope it turns out to be nothing.

Summerskittles - I hope you feel better soon. That sounds awful. No advice I'm afraid.

lotsoffreckles · 11/08/2016 16:55

Hey ladies, I jumped on a few pages back and then had a mental week or so and haven't really kept up.

I had a scan yesterday (I'm 6weeks6) as I'm an IVFer and I got to see my pip's heartbeat Smile

Is anyone struggling with concentration? I'm so tired at the minute I find myself staring at my screen wondering what the hell I'm meant to be doing!

Moo big hugs and Flowers I had some brownish discharge yesterday morning just before my scan which freaked me a little. All seemed to be ok though, roll on 12 weeks x
