Good list Audrey! I like Saffron and Francesca the best I think. Estelle works really well with your surname though.

How do you pronounce the first name on the list?

AudreyBradshaw · 19/07/2016 22:28

pink Safiyah like Sapphire to be honest, not like Sophia with an a instead of an o, if that makes sense? I've heard it pronounced both ways wiping is the only thing which puts me off.

AudreyBradshaw · 19/07/2016 22:29

Wiping? = which.

BunchOfBobs · 19/07/2016 22:47

Audrey I just spent ages trying to figure out what wiping meant. Should have just read the next post doh!
Love your name lists.
I don't know what we'll end up going with but Atticus is my favourite too potato.

My pooch dealt okay with the heat today. Didn't get to go out for a walk until 8.30pm as I was adamant he wasn't to go out before he stopped panting when sat still. He's not happy though bless him. The heat seems to have made him extra hungry though.

Currently got all our windows and curtains open in the bedroom and a fan on and I currently hate my preggo pillow as its making me too hot.

Welcome back Feefs looks like you had an amazing time, I've been loving the photos.

Potato that must suck. I must admit I'm clearly not cut out for this parenting malarkey because I was honking B for ages why would you have to stay in your bedroom. Then I remembered little people have earlier bedtimes oops Hmm I'm going to blame baby brain. I know what you mean re thin appendages, I was holding on to thin wrists but my watch strap has been adjusted two holes so they've gone too Sad

BunchOfBobs · 19/07/2016 22:49

Honking B?!?! What the? *I was thinking for ages

IrregularCommentary · 19/07/2016 23:19

Bunch your poor, poor feet!

Stardrey love Ezra and Roman. William would have been ours if she were a he though as I've always had a thing for the name. Got a soft spot for Saffron on your girl's list I think - just think it sounds amazing with your surname.

Miley I always told DH that if I fell pregnant before we got married then the baby would take my name as I refused to have a different surname! Luckily we waited until almost 3yrs post marriage to start trying, but suspect it would have become a very controversial stance!

So... how is everyone proposing to sleep tonight? It's still mid 20s here Confused

BunchOfBobs · 20/07/2016 06:36

I was promised a thunder storm overnight to break this weather. Where is my thunder storm??!!!

shelbTa · 20/07/2016 06:50

That was an awful night of sweating.

X

AudreyBradshaw · 20/07/2016 07:33

Just stated thundering here. It's too hot, and I've not slept mainly because Dh can be a selfish prick on occasion, of which last night was one.

leoniethelioness · 20/07/2016 07:35

Congratulations, Pink"s OH!

Two girls at work have both had baby boys called Ezra in the last six months or so. If never heard of anyone being called it before then (Bible and George Ezra excepted). I like it. It's very nice.

We are still set on naming our little lad Theodore.

Bunch Great news on the GD front.

I'm 30 weeks today. I've been awake for about 90 minutes and have felt baby move once when I was in the shower. This is normal for me - I don't feel him much (anterior placenta) - but I feel like I should be feeling more than I am. Any thoughts?

leoniethelioness · 20/07/2016 07:40

Managed to sleep with a fan on most of the night. Drying my hair this morning was awful. Gro Egg said it was 27 degrees when I went to sleep. I'd had the curtains shut all day too and windows open as soon as I got home.

Safiyah - pretty but think Sophia is so popular it might get misheard
Azaelia - think this is a celebrity's name?
Estelle - lovely - Estella is also gorgeous
Felicity - beautiful - DSis has chosen this if her baby is a girl 💜
Anoushka - pretty. Love Anouk too
Dannica - pretty. Annika also nice (I love the nickname/name Annie)
Francesca - lovely
Saffron - cool! Is this the girl's name in Ab Fab? Might have a bit of a revival with the film
Anaia - not sure how you saw it but looks pretty

Great choices, stardrey!

leoniethelioness · 20/07/2016 07:42

Meant to say as well - an old friend from uni has a daughter called Amethyst which you might like. She goes by Amy. It's cute and suits her. Also like Amber a lot too.

leoniethelioness · 20/07/2016 07:44

Bunch Go with Gruff. I love Gruffydd. It's my colleague's name and I just think it is great. It's got to be one of the coolest Welsh names. Love Macsen and Osian too.

PotatosMum · 20/07/2016 07:47

Morning all, how is everyone today? Did anyone manage to get a decent nights sleep?

We're expecting the temperature to be in the high 20s again today. I think I want to cry Sad

Audrey they're all really lovely names Grin I'm not sure I'd be able to choose Confused

Luckily I don't have to worry about the ex purposely messing with us. She does mess with us but it's more about her being terribly self centred than actually wanting to upset us. Silly cow did book to go away (without the kids) on the weekend we're hoping to move though which was quite a spectacular feat of "my life is the only one that matters".

Bunch you have my sympathies regarding the pregnancy pillow roasting. If you're anything like me you can't sleep without it but last night is was a bit of a liability.

The reason we have to stay in the bedroom while the kids are here is that once we've put up the camp beds and they have their stuff in the living room you literally can't move in there. Add to that the constant bickering and playing Xbox literally every second they're here and it's rare we want to venture into the living room Confused

My phone is predicting rain tomorrow... When I read that both OH and I cheered. The weather really can't win lol

I've got my next growth scan tomorrow. Hoping to be told that baby is nearly there Smile

Sodasoda · 20/07/2016 07:50

Morning! It was 28 degrees in our bedroom last night. ShockI'm almost going to be pleased to get into the office (hello air conditioning) although travelling on the tube is going to be an ordeal I can do without.

Audrey - I love Ezra and Estelle! Unusual without being too 'out there' (I'm not that adventurous!).

I think we're decided on Alexander for a boy and we really like Alex. Girls name were not 100% but we do really like Alexa (notice a theme??!)

Pink - fab news about your OHs new job, that must be a relief for you.

Leonie - if it doesn't feel right for you then I'd say get checked out. Just go by your instincts. Personally it's not unusual for me not to feel baby until I get on the tube in the morning but if I hadn't felt anything by about 10 then I'd be worried. But they're much more active in the afternoon / evening - not an early riser, just like mum Smile

Pinklily1 · 20/07/2016 07:54

Thanks Leonie. It's not his ideal, but it's something so a weight off the mind at least.

Love Theodore. If we were having a boy he would have been Theodore or Milo.

Good point about Saffron. The girl in Ab Fab is known as Saffy I think.

Re movement, I feel baby in the morning but nowhere near as much as in the early evening. I think if it's normal for you, that's fine. I'd get checked out if I though baby's patterns had changed from what is normal.

I managed a decent nights sleep given how gross and sticky it is. Just hauled myself to the gym - I only managed to drag myself there on the basis that they have air con!

Got my 34 week midwife appointment today, so will see what that brings.

leoniethelioness · 20/07/2016 07:57

Thanks, Soda. It's not unusual for me not to feel baby much so I'm not worried in that sense. I just thought I'd feel more than one kick an hour at this point. Midwife said that their movements increase up to 32 weeks then level off but I've not really noticed that - although I barely felt anything at all until the last month or so.

I wanted Alexander too, and DH did, but he'd be Alex and we have a female Alex and male Alec in the family already. Toyed with Alexander/Sandy for a bit though but ultimately decided on going for something totally different. I'd like it as a middle name but Theodore is quite long as it is - we're using John instead.

BunchOfBobs · 20/07/2016 08:39

Pink great news. Though it's not ideal at least he's not out of work which must be a huge relief.

Leonie if it's normal for you there should be nothing to worry about. If you're concerned atall give your midwife a bell.
It is an amazing Welsh name I agree, problem is I keep reading it as Gruff though I know it's pronounced Griff. Gah. Clearly 7 years in Wales is not enough for me. In going to wait and see what he suits I think.

I did manage to sleep but when I woke for loo trips I was drenched and struggled to get back to sleep.

For those who have been waiting to see the next dye lot this is half of the colours done. The other 3 colours are at my parents and I'm collecting them on Saturday when I go visit my Nan and get my hair done at mums hairdresser. The stash is almost complete!!

Feefeefs · 20/07/2016 10:03

Catching up. . .

Name feefs
Age 28
19+2 with a vanilla bean called puffling.
Have my 20 week scan on Friday! Very exciting! Less excited for whooping cough vaccine tomorrow!!

Your visible kicks must have been so exciting starky & Lillian! I've been feeling mine on and off now but nothing strong enough for DH to see/feel.

I'm glad you asked about the vest canters was totally confused about that also.

I'm the same may struggling to buy anything as don't know where to put it before we move!

Very exciting with all the growth scans etc.

Glad things are better soda and glad your dad is out of hospital bunch. Thanks about the photos too bunch had such a lovely trip.

Also positive pregnancy symptom I am like unbelievably more in love with DH! Mostly real but must be the hormones too! Trying to hold back a little as don't want to be too clingy!

Mileymoocow · 20/07/2016 11:08

feef I've been like that, too. Me and OH get on really well anyway and are one of those annoying couples that never really argue cause we both know how far we can push each other! But I've definitely turned a lot more soppy since being pregnant! I'm not usually a cuddly, mushy person but I did cry because I was so happy I had his little human in my tummy Blush

bunch I love your newest dyed lot!! Can I hire you? Wink

Loving everyone's name choices Grin will try to catch up properly soon.

PotatosMum · 20/07/2016 11:26

Soda Alexander and Alexandra were on our short list but OHs cousins son is an Alexander and I don't like his mum so I decided I'd rather not have the confusion... She also announced her pregnancy a couple of weeks before mine which made me even less inclined to have to share the name pregnancy hormonal bitchyness

Pink good luck with the midwife.

Feef good luck for the 20 week scan Grin

So glad it's a bit cooler today. There's also a really good breeze coming off the hill behind my flat so the living room is at present bearable.

Have just sent another snotty email to the solicitor as they haven't bothered to reply to my email on Monday (and neither has the mortgage advisor or the sales progressor grrr!!!) trying not to let myself get too angry and worked up though as Monday I was livid and horrible to be around.

OP posts:
Feefeefs · 20/07/2016 11:33

Miley that's so cute! I haven't cried about that yet but I'm sure it's coming

Pyxie · 20/07/2016 11:37

Morning all,

Hope nobody melted in the night! God I hope it's a bit cooler tonight.

Can I ask what brand/type of nappies you've gone for Bunch? I'm wanting to use cloth nappies but the choice is a bit overwhelming, I'm leaning towards the pocket inserts but even then there seems to be a lot of different brands!

I feel a bit bad that I'm 24 weeks and we haven't actually bought anything yet. We were supposed to be moving house but then our sellers pulled out a few weeks ago so now we're back to square one. Hope your solicitor gets back to you potato, it's so frustrating having to rely on other people!

PotatosMum · 20/07/2016 11:48

Pyxie that's horrible about your buyer pulling out. It's my worse nightmare.

Funnily enough, not half an hour after snotty email I received a response. Once again, not a direct response to my email but them babbling on about how it's everyone's fault but theirs. Thoroughly fed up with the lot of them but I don't know what else I can do to get things moving Sad we only have a week left before we wanted to move and I just can't see it happening.

OP posts:
Mileymoocow · 20/07/2016 12:08

feefs I don't think OH knew what to do! I'm not one for crying usually so he thought something was really wrong.

Had rain and thunder on and off all morning which has cleared the air! I'm no longer melting Grin I am absolutely starving today though, and stupidly only brought a salad for lunch which took me all of 37 seconds to eat. I'll get the embarrassing belly grumbles in my afternoon meetings Blush
