I agree Leonie Wink

Bunch, I hadn't realised different midwives use the engaged thing differently. You'd think they would all work on the same basis and not confuse us all!

Mileymoocow · 18/07/2016 19:02

Me either! 5/5 is not engaged at all in my notes. It's all very confusing...

Sorry leonie, I'm not bashing all solicitors - just mine! It's the 2nd one I've had from this company and just as bloody useless. Never answer their calls and never email back!

So I'm still absolutely melting and being glared at by pooch because he can't go for a walk as it's too hot. I'm a bad mummy

Thread #9 - TTC#1 grads thread - it's the final countdown
Pinklily1 · 18/07/2016 19:04

He doesn't look impressed Miley Grin Very cute dog though.

PotatosMum · 18/07/2016 20:03

Sorry Leonie but I'm hot, tired, hormonal and my particular solicitor is a dick. They never reply to my emails properly, they're vague, they never chase for things and I've just found out that they're insisting on contacting my mortgage company to check if they want to revise the property valuation down because the road it's on hasn't been adopted by the local authority yet. Considering it takes the mortgage company a minimum of five working days to respond to anything I can't see us moving on the 1st now which completely messed up my plans and if they do revise the valuation it could mean we can't move at all.
I'm so frustrated and upset I could cry Sad

BunchOfBobs · 18/07/2016 20:32

Miley you're the best mummy. It upsets me so much when people take their dogs out in the middle of the day.

Potato so sorry to hear that. Tell them to get fooked.

Sodasoda · 18/07/2016 21:51

Sorry for me me me post but just had horribly scary night. Hadn't felt baby move much so went in to the hospital. They put me on the monitor and agreed that baby wasn't moving as much as they should for almost 32 weeks pregnant. Consultant sat me and DH down and started talking about giving me steroid injections and how they were going to transfer me to another hospital with facilities to look after premature baby! Shock

Thankfully baby movement picked up a bit and they sent me for a scan instead to check nutrient flow from placenta which looked good.

I'm back home now but need to return for another trace tomorrow at hospital to check baby is moving better.

So worrying Sad

Mileymoocow · 18/07/2016 22:02

Oh soda you must have been so worried!! Glad baby is moving more and I'm sure everything will be ok!

Yeah it makes me sad too bunch Sad our front room and garden are south facing so we have to shut the curtains when we're out of the house for Milo to keep cool! He doesn't have the sense to move to the kitchen, bless him. He isn't exactly known for his intelligence Grin

Thanks pink he's a funny dog - you could set your watch by him hes that set in his routine!

Got the chance of a 4D scan on Wednesday evening for £50! I know I said I wouldn't but I'm soooooo tempted after seeing some of your pictures. I'm a little apprehensive they may accidentally reveal the gender though! I think it'd be nice for OH as he's getting a bit impatient now too and has mentioned he wishes he could bond with the baby like I can before its here.

Danni89 · 18/07/2016 22:19

Omg that sounds scary soda! Glad the movement picked up

Defo do it miley, that's a bargain and you'll both love it.

The NHS class was good, epidural sounds scary and defo want that as last resort. I have the second part next Monday- also found out I can book myself on to a breastfeeding class and a 'caring for newborns' class so I think I'll do those too.

Fan on full blast tonight... And the hayfever! Not fair!

IrregularCommentary · 18/07/2016 23:40

Soda you poor thing, that sounds so scary. Fingers crossed it was a one off, but at least they're keeping an eye on you.

Miley I so recognise that look!

Yay for big purchases Stardrey - I found getting the pram really exciting.

We bought tester pots for the nursery today - final colour decision tomorrow I think :-)

AudreyBradshaw · 18/07/2016 23:59

soda you poor thing, that sounds so scary. And bunch exciting news about Pip but definetly fingers crossed he stays put until your lovely dad gets back home to English (Welsh) soil! potato how unnecessarily stressful for you! Deep healing breaths and imagining the incompetent ones trapped in a hot car with eggy farts!

The humidity is appalling! I feel like I'm a hot water bottle! We've decided on a theme for baby's room, think we're going with the little zoo stuff from Next because it's bright but fairly neutral. And trying to come up with a list of names properly, an actual shortlist! My family are awesome, but opinionated! So even if we decide, we shan't be telling anyone, just presenting them with a baby complete with name!

Anyone mind if I try them out here? I can't get my head round actually naming a person..You know, now that I actually believe there's one in there!

irregular that's so exciting about colours! What are you thinking of going with?

miley our two dogs have gone to sleep over at "Nana and Bampys" Coco knows something is going on and has become terribly possessive of me, but in a more worried way. So in an effort to quash the separation anxiety, they're having a fun mini holiday! I miss them! Miley pup is so cute!

leoniethelioness · 19/07/2016 06:45

Soda Hope you're OK.

Stark Let's hear the names!

Lauren Loving Jemima. Beautiful.

BunchOfBobs · 19/07/2016 06:45

Oh soda that must be so worrying for you. I hope tomorrow's trace goes better.

Miley that is such a bargain. If you tell them you don't want to know they should keep the probe away from the business end.

Stardrey deffo try them out here, I have done.

GTT this morning and dickhead here took a swig of gaviscon at 0.55. Do we think it'll be a problem?

Evergreen17 · 19/07/2016 07:07

Hola ladies
I am still here, just busy so reading tour posts slowly
Sorry that most of you are on the 3rd trimester in this heat Sad
Maybe I am lucky I am due in February Hmm
Back to reading more posts

Mileymoocow · 19/07/2016 07:47

Aww audrey I'm sure Nacho and Co will be having a ball on holiday. Milo is the same, if I'm walking him alone everyone gets stared down and if a dog approaches me he sounds them out - if he's not happy they get a little grumble! He's soft as clarts really, it's like getting growled at off a bunny! Please share your names if you wish! I do love a good baby name discussion but am too frightened to stray from here and go to the name threads for fear of the MN vultures.

danni thanks, I think I may just book it! I know I only have 11 and a bit weeks until we meet him/her but it seems like a lifetime away. I'm also massively terrified of having to have an epidural and really hope it doesn't come to that.

irregular they make you feel so guilty don't they!

Mileymoocow · 19/07/2016 07:50

bunch I hope so, as much as I hummed and harred about wanting to know I think I'd be disappointed if I saw something I didn't want to!! How're you doing today?

audrey are you still in touch with kwick? Just wondering how shes gettibg on. I'm not keeping up with the TTC thread, I felt like an imposter and all I did was whinge about HG which wasn't exactly what they wanted to be hearing!

PotatosMum · 19/07/2016 07:58

Morning ladies, how are you all today?

Soda that sounds really stressful. Hopefully everything will be ok but today but if not try not to worry. Babies are born early and do well all the time. Both my nephews were early (the youngest was only 28 weeks) and both are now massive teenagers and have obviously suffered no ill effects.

Miley enjoy your 4D, I'm sure you and OH will love it!

Danni glad you enjoyed the class.

Irregular exciting that you're going to be painting the nursery.

Audrey sounds like you're starting to get very organised. And good plan with keeping the baby name a secret. I'm sure our family won't like the one we've picked so we're not telling them either Wink I'm sure no one minds you testing out names here though, most people have Grin

Bunch I'm sure the gaviscon won't cause a problem, just don't mention it Wink

Sorry about all the ranting and whining yesterday. I really was in a foul mood. I'm hoping today will be better.

Is everyone dreading the heat today? The weather last night suggested that my area could get as high as 35 degrees Shock if it does I think I will go and hide in a cold bath!

I could do without it really though as I need to spend this week packing as we found out yesterday that the kids mum took us mentioning we might take the kids on holiday in the first two weeks of summer last winter as, we've booked holiday and will definitely be having them for the next two weeks, she then chose not to mention it or confirm until yesterday when she started screeching at us because we both looked at her blankly when she said the kids are with us next week Hmm it's just lucky I'm on leave and then maternity but you would have thought that seeing she knows we're moving in the next couple of weeks and that there's a good chance I'll deliver early, she would have considered that maybe our intentions had changed and she should check instead of assumeAngry

Anyway, I can't pack with the kids here because there's literally no room and I can't drive anymore so the poor things are going to be stuck in the flat for two weeks with me unable to take them anywhere. Not ideal for any of us.

Ni4444 · 19/07/2016 09:27

Morning ladies!
Ni, 34, will be 15 weeks tomorrow 😀 Loving the second trimester and feeling like me again! Oh and due date was brought forward to Jan 11th Potato... Not that these dates will mean anything!!

Potato and other impending move ladies- i hear you! We're trying to sell OHs flat so we can buy a home...but been looking at houses for a year and rarely find anything suitable. Even if the buy doesn't happen I reckon we'll move from our current rental place...upstairs neighbours are like elephants! Currently it's helping me to not even think about buying baby stuff!

BunchOfBobs · 19/07/2016 09:33

Oh potato what a mare. She never disappoints does she?! Poor you, OH and the kids.

I mentioned it oops, just means I have to wait an extra hour so it's a full 9 hours from taking it.

I'm now sat in one of the birthing rooms on a lovely rocking nursing chair with air con watching tv. Apparently they're all going to be popping in to watch Jeremy Kyle later ha!

They fully understood my sleep addled, heartburn suffering self reaching for the gaviscon in be middle of the night. Apparently it happens all the time but it's usually a pregnant lady having a drink or midnight snack.

IndiX · 19/07/2016 10:42

Morning ladies!

Soda I'm so sorry you've had such a scary night, good luck today and I'm sure you and baby will be fine. You'll be getting the best care and also good on you for getting to the hospital. I'm sure I'm not the only one who would think to wait it out for more movement but it just shows if you're worried you should go.

Potato that's a major pain in the arse, she sounds like a nightmare. Some people just go out of their way to make life more awkward.

Miley definitely get be 4D! That's so cheap, ours was on offer at £89 ( we got the full package including a dvd) so £50 is great! You'll love it aswell, I was always unsure about 4D but I'd definitely recommend one. Hopefully your baby is better behaved than mine though!

Audrey Yes share your names here! I've only told DH and my mum my possible names atm, I know my nan and grandad will hate my favourite one ( nan already mentioned how she didn't like it a few months back, not knowing it was on my list). I say stuff everyone else, it's your baby and you need to love the name. Doesn't matter what others think.

Currently lying on the beach in Spain enjoying my last day in the 2nd Trimester! Can't believe I'm 28 weeks tomorrow. Also had my first uninvited baby bump comment off a Spanish lady, she was lovely though but did mention I should buy the bigger lilo as I'm 'heavy at the front'Hmm she also said 'are you due in October' without me saying anything first..she was like a psychic bump reader! Afterwards I did think she took a risk assuming I was pregnant as I had quite a floaty kaftan on and could have just been a big chunkyGrin
Hope you all have a nice day, I'm sorry for the ones suffering in the heat but at least UK is getting some sort of summer for now.

Newmrs22 · 19/07/2016 10:47

Oh Soda that's so scary. If it's any consolation the day I went in for reduced movements everything turned out fine, but I think it happened because I was massively too hot that day and baby was protesting.

Talking of hot... Omg why am I heavily pregnant now? Who's stupid idea was a summer baby?! I need to do a big clear out but I feel weird when I overheat so I'm just sitting in front of the fan.

bunch hope the test goes well. Your morning sounds nice! I'd love a bit of air con

BunchOfBobs · 19/07/2016 10:48

So Pink you were right. Today's midwife says its down to how the midwife is trained, they should say palpable or engaged to show the difference but most will just say 4/5ths engaged (and could mean it either way) and leave it to us to be confused. Pip is currently 3-4/5ths palpable so only 1-2/5ths of his head are in my pelvis. Phew. He's going nowhere until my parents are back.

Dad is out of hospital huzzah!

Had the orange drink again but they dilute it here so it was so much nicer to drink. I've got white cells in my wee so that's been sent of, joys. Apparently could be sign of thrush or a UTI or could just be CM contamination.

PotatosMum · 19/07/2016 11:55

Bunch glad it wasn't a major problem. I'm very envious of your air con. I'm busy dripping all over my packing boxes Confused

Glad your dad is out of hospital.

Indi your Spanish lady sounds quite sweet really. Hope you're having a lovely time Smile

I'm busy trying to make myself pack now I only have a week to do it (because of the kids staying) but I'm just so hot and tired, I'm sweating everywhere which is attractive and can't even do some sewing because my hands are too sweaty Blush

OP posts:
Mileymoocow · 19/07/2016 12:16

Just wrote a long post then mumsnet decided to have a brain far! Angry in summary:

bunch I bet it's a relief pip isn't as engaged as you thought and also that your dad is out of hospital! Hopefully this is your turn of luck! Grin

potato your OHs ex sounds like a right self centred cow! You're a bigger person than I am cause I think I would have exploded.

new I'm with you on that! Why did I not realise how awful being pregnant in the summer would be! I'm sweating from places I didn't know I could sweat from Blush

I booked the 4D scan for tomorrow and can't wait to see baby! I'm excited as this is the first scan I'll get to go to where I'm not a bag of nerves.

indi glad you're enjoying your holiday! Unfortunately unwanted pregnancy comments are a universal language. I have the same woman at work tell me just about every day that I'm getting fat Hmm

All I'm eating is salad and yogurt and chocolate and donuts it's too hot to enjoy a proper meal! Never mind, only 2 hours 45 left at work then off to my midwife appointment. Think its just the general chit chat, bump measure and blood pressure/urine checks today.

IrregularCommentary · 19/07/2016 12:42

Stardrey definitely tell us names - totally agree about never ever posting on the baby name boards! Colour wise, probably yellow but testing mint green types too. We want animal wall stickers so any yellow has to be lion and giraffe compatible!

Miley - yep! Luckily he's all happy atm with DH being off work for the summer so I am off the guilt hook. Interesting that people are saying their dogs have been different with them. Archie has definitely been more protective of me since I got pregnant.

Lauren Jemima is gorgeous, both nose and name! I'm so looking forward to the baby photos starting.

Christ, the heat. I'm absolutely fucking melting and my cankles are on another level.

Mileymoocow · 19/07/2016 13:03

Lol irregular we can all suffer together! I went yellow with the nursery and have also went for an animal theme. Got the roll up! Roll up! range from mothercare and I love it. We got B&Q own brand paint but can't for the life of me remember the name of it
