Hi all,

Lovely bumps ladies..

bunch can't believe you're seeing signs of labour... So exciting now!

potato glad you're settling in well

shelb I feel you completely on the insomnia, I'm awake for long periods of time throughout the night, then fall asleep for a couple of hours

So my baby shower was yesterday... It was really fantastic, had a really good time and lil man got completely spoilt and we have lots of vouchers to get last bits we want and need.

Hope everyone has a lovely Sunday!

BunchOfBobs · 07/08/2016 10:20

He's doing okay Miley, I was in a foul mood until I heard. Apparently he got tangled in his drip last night so they're keeping him in until midday but he's more himself his morning and has had a wee so the drip is working. Woohoo. Say thanks to your gorgeous boy Smile

I'm feeling more periody cramps today but sharper and worse back ache. Hopefully all good signs.

Ladies for those who plan on using puppy pads on your mattress I implore you to buy a waterproof sheet instead. After the dog destroyed ours yesterday we thought it best not to tempt fate and used the waterproof pads under the sheets. Omg the sweat!! My sheet you wouldn't even know was on. I had this one (and have ordered a replacement).

Velfont Waterproof and Breathable Terry Towelling Bamboo Mattress Protector, Super King Size (180x190/200cm) https://www.amazon.co.uk/dp/B00EYWQZGI/ref=cmswwrcppapi_6ZVPxbH6ZSQBX

Danni glad you had a lovely time and got spoiled Smile

LillianFullStop · 07/08/2016 11:27

miley, soda and new I love the bump pics! All looking so fab!!

potato there is no way they wouldn't have known about a broken oven! hope they sort it out. other than that I hope you're enjoying the new place!

bunch will be checking daily for any news!

glad you enjoyed your baby shower danni!

Thanks for the tips on the car seat everyone I think we will pick up a seat belt compatible one - and will have the black cab option too. We're less than 10 minutes from the hospital so a cab ride wouldn't cost that much.

LillianFullStop · 07/08/2016 11:37

Thought I'd share a bump pic too - here's my 29w bump!

Feefeefs · 07/08/2016 11:58

Lovely bump new! Sorry I missed your post when I posted before!

Aw bunch poor pup! Hope he's back with you soon!

Thanks potato! Offer goes in Tuesday and we find out Wednesday saw another we like too so will make an offer on that if not.

Thanks miley it's so frustrating, wrecked during the day and them repeatedly wake up all night Sad might try a nap today, off work to pro so will get a bit of a rest hopefully! Try to re-charge.

Doing the washing today, I think that'll be the extent of my efforts, driving lesson too.

Glad you had a nice time Dani! Sounds lovely.

Lovely bump Lillian!!

Lovely bump Lillian!

I think nesting may have set in Hmm. I've defrosted the fridge freezer, cleaned it from top to bottom, hoovered and am getting ready to start on the next thing.

Can anyone recommend any decent maternity leggings? Mothercare are sold out in my size, the New Look ones are super shiny on, and the Topshop ones I have are really uncomfortable. Ideally want some over the bump ones I can wear in these last few weeks and for a bit post birth as well.

Feefeefs · 07/08/2016 13:19

Ahh look at him with his teddy!! Glad you've got him back bunch.

I've got Asos maternity one pink which are very comfortable and over the bump. Not as far along as you thoug

shelbTa · 07/08/2016 13:26

Bless him bunch with his teddy!!

Pink - I was just coming on here to write the same - cleared out all cupboards and just cleaned the car with a new portable vacuum I've bought (?!) for an hour! Everything is washed. I need new leggings too, think going to be living in them post birth. Also I want so below-ass style tshirts and jumpers I think whilst body is in between pregnant and going down to normal.

X

PotatosMum · 07/08/2016 14:56

Miley if you really want to do housework you can come to mine, I live in box central at the moment Confused

Danni glad you had a nice shower Smile

Bunch aww glad pooch is home Grin

Lillian lovely bump photo Smile

Just finished wandering around IKEA and eating meatballs and I'm absolutely shattered now. Time to go home and talk about unpacking Wink

We've decided that as we have to get DSS his bed early we'll also decorate his room first as it shouldn't take too long. We're not going to tell him though so that when he comes to stay in a couple of weeks he gets a big surprise Grin I hope DSD doesn't get to jealous though as we're doing her room last seeing as she won't be staying in it much. Next after DSSs room we shall tackle the biggest job... The dreaded kitchen Confused hopefully I'll no longer have a bump when we start that Grin

Pinklily1 · 07/08/2016 15:35

I've ordered the ASOS ones, thanks feefs. I figure they will work in my next pregnancy as well so it doesn't matter too much that I only have 3 weeks to go.

So fridge freezer defrosted, house cleaned, 3 loads of washing done and I've washed all the baby bottles. Time for a cup of tea and a Maple Pecan Plait Grin

Potato, i think that's a lovely idea to decorate his room as a surprise. Is your DSD older than DSS?

Bunch, glad Sherlock is home. Loving the toy Grin

Sodasoda · 07/08/2016 17:38

Great bump Lillian!

Glad your pooch is feeling better bunch.
*
Pink* I've got over the bump h&m leggings and find them really comfy. I got some under bump ones and just find I'm hitching them up all the time - not a good look!

Glad you enjoyed your shower danni

So my first NCT class was today. It was pretty full on - all day. There was some useful info and to be fair I didn't think the teacher was too anti none natural stuff which I was relieved about. I was really hoping to use the class to meet people and make friends and I'm feeling a bit down on that front. We were one of 8 couples and There were 4 couples who are Italian and another who is Spanish but speak Italian!! Not that I've got anything against Italians but they were speaking to each other in Italian and forming their own group already which I found a bit annoying. Angry We've got another session next week so hopefully it'll be a bit more hopeful.

leoniethelioness · 07/08/2016 20:12

Sorry to hear that, Soda. Ours had four other couples but two of the men couldn't stay all day so left their partners there. We were probably the youngest couple but most of the women probably early 30s. A couple of the dads to be seemed to be in their late 40s (we are late 20s) - it wasn't obvious that we had much in common other than expecting babies although they were nice. Everyone was extremely nice and friendly so hopefully we'll meet up for coffee and cake with the babies in the winter. We will at least have the little ones in common.

My coccyx is in absolute agony tonight. Properly miserable. Off to the GP in the morning. Think I might have to get a cab even though it's only a short while away as I walk so slowly.

leoniethelioness · 07/08/2016 20:18

Jo Jo Maman Bebe leggings.

Hate to break it to you but you'll look five or six months pregnant after the birth so you'll get the wear out of them.

Pinklily1 · 07/08/2016 20:21

They are partly for after the birth too Leonie - they will form part of my coming home outfit

Pinklily1 · 07/08/2016 20:21
Grin
Sodasoda · 07/08/2016 20:36

NCT does seem to be an older crowd leonie doesn't it? We're 33 and I'd say we were probably the second youngest couple there out of 8. Glad you had a nice group. Everyone was nice in our class too, just unsure how much we all have in common apart from babies. But I guess we don't need to be best friends, just someone who can meet for coffee and cake during the day. Sorry you're in lots of pain, hope the GP can help.

leoniethelioness · 07/08/2016 20:37

I've got leggings too and some jersey trousers from Asos to wear after in case the leggings irritate a C section scar or any stitches

leoniethelioness · 07/08/2016 20:40

Thanks, Soda. Not the comfiest of chairs at our NCT venue. Might take the birth ball to sit on for the next class.

PotatosMum · 07/08/2016 20:46

Pink wow you've been busy. Yes DSS is older but will be living with us, DSD is only 8 but will live with her mum and has a room there that has been decorated to her liking so I figure it's fair.

Soda that's a shame about the clicky group. Will it be the same people next week?

Leonie sorry you're in pain. Definitely best to get a cab, you don't want to make yourself worse.

OHs dad just popped round because apparently he's been worried all day because we're putting up blinds and I shouldn't do that... He also informed me that he will bring our lawn mower round (he's storing it for us) and mow our lawn, I've been looking forward to having a lawn to mow fir months so I had to politely decline. He was outraged because apparently that's far too strenuous for me Hmm bless him, he means well but seems to think that anything more strenuous than making a cup of tea will result in my death. He actually sited a story about his great grandmother who died of a haemorrhage while pregnant because she was stretching to put up curtains.

LillianFullStop · 07/08/2016 23:00

pink I've gone with ASOS too. I've used them for yoga and they are quite comfortable!

glad all is well with sherlock bunch!

sorry you're in pain leonie - just take it easy and give yourself lots of time to get from A to B. Can GP refer you for some physio if it gets worse? or some pain relief more than panadol for you?

shame about the first NCT session soda - i feel there is so much pressure/expectation on these NCT groups with people telling you they are useful for local support/making life long friends. but it's completely chance on who you get grouped with! hopefully the group will get less cliquey for the next session.

PotatosMum · 08/08/2016 05:21

Morning ladies, how are you all today?

Well, the insomnia has got me this morning. Something woke me up at 4am and I haven't been able to get back to sleep since Sad I think I just know there's so much to do that I can't relax. My feet are killing me after all the walking yesterday though so I'm not sure how I'll manage today Confused

I just want everything to be put away and tidy so that I can think about the decorating and I'm a little worried about OHs dad turning up tomorrow while OH is at work and trying to take over. I don't mind help but I don't like being told what I can and can't do in my own home and he keeps telling me I can't do all the jobs that I actually enjoy and have been looking forward too and that he will do them instead, but he's lovely and if I put my foot down his feelings will be hurt Confused

I'm probably being hormonal and over thinking it way too much!!!

BunchOfBobs · 08/08/2016 07:12

Morning all.

That's me on my way home from hospital AGAIN! Got up at 4am feeling a bit wet, thinking woohoo waters. It was blood. Phoned hospital told to come in. Turns out it's more of my show. Honestly never knew it could be period like. Now getting lovely period pains with tightenings so seems like things are moving along. I'm 75% effaced and 1-2cm dilated now woohoo. Fecking shattered and starving though.

Potato stand your ground, even if it does hurt his feelings it's your new house, of course you want to do the jobs, as sweet as his intentions are.

leoniethelioness · 08/08/2016 07:21

Bunch Sounds like early labour! Good luck xxx

leoniethelioness · 08/08/2016 07:23

Eat, rest and you'll have your baby in your arms soon!
