Lisa hopefully your arm doesn't sting for long, mine hurt for a day or two as well.

Bunch can't believe you have long now. It's so exciting!!!

Indi I wouldn't worry about the sleepless nights if I were you. I've come to the conclusion that I already need to get up in the night to pee about once every other hour so it's not going to make a lot of difference Hmm

I'd go with a normal bouncer. Apparently the vibrate chills them out and is often the only thing to stop them crying.

Cosmo I hope you told OH to sod off Shock what was he thinking!

Yay! For the new pram.

Audrey OMG the comment from your OH about you calling the baby IT Shock that's horrifying Grin

Lillian I believe a car seat fixed with a seatbelt in a cab is legal.

So, it's been too hot for much unpacking to be done today. So we have been out to buy blinds and food and put some storage bits in the garage.
We're going to do some unpacking and put up the blinds once the sun has gone in then tomorrow is IKEA Grin

We have however found the "one thing". You know, there always has to be something and in this case it's and expensive something Hmm the oven doesn't work. We've called up the estate agent and they're going to talk to the vendor and I've told them that as it's such an expensive bit of kit we will take legal action if they don't agree to pay compensation off their own backs. Replacing like for like will cost about £400 but we could get something cheaper so if they agree to pay we'll take a couple of hundred, if they make us go to our lawyer we'll insist on like for like... We still love the house though Grin

AudreyBradshaw · 06/08/2016 17:37

We've got the car seat cosmo but my Dad insisted on paying for storage for the pram as who knows the untold horrors of what will happen if I brought it home!? But my DM has her pram (for our baby) in the back room at their house. Apparently that's not the same thing, because that one is vintage, you just can't have a new pram in the baby's house! I never knew my Dad was so superstitious!

lillian I believe you can take a new baby in a pram in a black cab, but I'm not sure. I think most taxi firms (pre-book ones) have a baby car seat availability precisely for the purpose of bringing new babies home from hospital. So maybe have a ring round and check with a few firms? You'd think so, especially in London, where cars aren't a necessity. Maybe firms near the hospital will have more information.

AudreyBradshaw · 06/08/2016 17:41

potato those bastards with the oven! They must have known! Definetly insist on like for like if they mess you about (even more than they already have! )

Haha Grin best bit is, he really doesn't like clowns, especially the Steven king one so I'm going to have to come up with a new name or I'll end up calling baby "Pennywise" instead of plain old 'it' and he'll get really annoyed at me! Grin

Pinklily1 · 06/08/2016 17:52

Congratulations on 39 weeks Bunch, and i'm loving the poo and mucus plug updates - sounds like things could be beginning, or at least not too far away! Amazing bump too.

So exciting that you are 1cm already! And what on earth is effaced? Bless your OH with his sex worry.

Congratulations on 37 weeks too Potato.

Indi, i think its normal to have periods of being scared and doubtful.

I'm starting to panic about the birth, little things like how will I know when i'm in labour (i'm sure its obvious but what if it isn't?!), the fact that we have to give a name to a little human which she is going to have for the rest of her life, whether we've got everything we need....

Cosmo, i'd tell your OH to bog off with the hedge trimming.

Elle, yeah for more movement. Hopefully it won't be too long before your OH feels it too.

Audrey, another scan is very exciting. Hope you get some good photos.

Sorry to all of those with insomnia. I'm managing to sleep but only an hour or two at a time, then i'm up for the loo and am wide awake by about 6am Hmm

I've had Braxton Hicks on and off all day. Absolutely no mistaking them.

I've been to Mothercare today and tried some nursing bras on. I wasn't impressed really - you were right Miley, not a lot of support at all when you have big boobs Blush. I might have a look in Bravissimo instead.

Sodasoda · 06/08/2016 18:05

Thanks for all the updates bunch sounds as if you're getting close!

That's really annoying about the oven potato. They must have known. I don't know how they thought they could get away with it!
*
Lillian like Audrey* said a lot of cabs have car seats but beware - a friend of mine did this to get home from London hospital and cab turned up with toddler rather than newborn seat. As if was such a long wait for another can they ended up getting the bus home with their new baby! ShockIf you're ever going to be using any car it's worth getting a car seat - you can strap them into the back with a seat belt so you could just do this home from hospital?

Question - has anyone thought about a TENS machine for pain relief? I'm reading loads of positive reviews that they're great in earlier stages when you're likely to be at home. They seem to be about £50.

Off out for dinner with DH tonight and then we've got our first all day NCT class tomorrow. I feel a bit nervous about it - sort of like auditioning for friends! Smile

BunchOfBobs · 06/08/2016 18:35

Pink effaced is the cervix shortening and thinning, it needs to be flat and thin and dilated for baby to come out. I'm halfway there with effacing.

So this is the latent (early) phase of labour apparently , there's no telling how long it will last, but I think I've been in it since Tuesday as that's when my mega BH started and getting uncomfortable etc.

What cheeky feckers Potato! They definitely knew!!

Currently cooking a bbq and I keep getting teary thinking this could be our last weekend just "us". Crazy hormones

Pinklily1 · 06/08/2016 18:48

Ah, that makes sense Bunch.

I've decided Figleaves is the way forward for nursing bras. They actually have some pretty ones, rather than ones that are very Grandma-like.

Has anyone bought sleep bras? The woman in Mothercare was adamant i needed them.

shelbTa · 06/08/2016 19:04

Eeekkk bunch! Totally get the last weekend together tears, I've been thinking about that a lot.

Pink - my mum doesn't stop going on about sleep bras to 'save your boobs'. When am breastfeeding think will wear one as think them boinging about all night might be painful and messy.

Does anyone get really sharp pains about the pubic bone? It makes me double over.

X

Sodasoda · 06/08/2016 19:06

Bump pic from me at 34 weeks and a comparison shot from 24 weeks. I've definitely expanded Smile

Pinklily1 · 06/08/2016 19:16

Looking fab Soda. I love the colour of your dress too.

Shelb - apparently they are a must because we will leak milk at night and therefore need to wear a top that we can put breast pads in. I've already bought some nursing pyjama vests to give my boobs a bit of support at night in these last few weeks, so figure they will be fine as an alternative to the sleep bras. I'm starting to realise that breastfeeding is more expensive than you think, by the time you get nursing bras and tops Hmm

Newmrs22 · 06/08/2016 20:46

Bunch- that's so exciting! Hopefully pip hurries up now!

Soda lovely bump. I've attached one of mine at 38+4.

Shelb yes I get sharp pubic pain when I walk and occasionally when I'm sitting down.

I've just had some pineapple and did a long walk earlier. Need to convince DH to man up and DTD

Feefeefs · 06/08/2016 20:49

You look all bump bunch great photo! And skin looks lovely as miley said. Happy 39 weeks!!

Having bits of insomnia too miley it's miserable I think it's thinking about the houses!! We went to see another three today. Seeing nicer ones now thankfully. One goes to closing Wednesday and think we will put an offer on the other if we don't get it.

To be honest I just look like I've but on exactly the amount of put on! Size 14/16 anyway and tend to carry excess mostly on tummy and hips so just look a bit fatter I think! DH thinks it looks like a bump and in some stuff it does looking forward to a bit more bump and looking obviously pregnant as strange as that may sound!!!

You'll be brilliant indi everyone says first 6 weeks are the worst and then you just get on with it! Being worried about it is a positive I think just shows how much you care. I panic a bit about MIL intense excitement it really freaks me too.

Happy 37 weeks potato!! So glad you're in your house!!

Jealous of your sleep newmrs!

So happy you can feel baby move now Elle that's lovely!

You look fab soda

Pinklily1 · 06/08/2016 21:16

Lovely bump New! Hope you manage to convince your OH! Have you had any hints that labour may be on its way?

Newmrs22 · 06/08/2016 21:27

Literally no clue. No plug loss yet, no upset stomach, so I suspect I'm in for a while longer yet! O have had some period pain type cramps, but who knows!

leoniethelioness · 06/08/2016 21:40

Exciting news, Bunch! Hope everything progresses well.

Lovely bump photos, New and Soda - you both look great!

No sign of my niece or nephew yet but (s)he is measuring about 9 lbs already so hopefully not a long wait!

Soda - I've got my first all day NCT class tomorrow too! Let me know what you think of yours tomorrow evening. :)

Sodasoda · 06/08/2016 22:03

Good luck tomorrow leonie - lets swap notes!

BunchOfBobs · 06/08/2016 23:24

Soda new lovely lovely bumps.

Thanks Feefs hope the viewings go well.

Well I have not spent the evening how I thought I would. Turns out the dog wasn't better, he was hideously sick 4 times in less than half an hour. Came into me in the bathroom panting and looking very odd. We followed him out to the garden where he just laid on his side drooling. Anyhoo, took him to the vet as we're really worried about him and we've had to leave him there as he's suffering from dehydration. Not sure if it's a bug or the poo he ate yesterday or worse. Then came home and had to start working on the vom stains on the carpet.
I love white vinegar!!
Also waterproof sheet completely saved our mattress and thank fook we changed the bedding today else it would have been a ruined duvet.
My poor boy is now at the vet with a drip
In him Sad I miss his gorgeous face.

IndiX · 06/08/2016 23:34

Oh god I'm sorry bunch, I hope he's better soon. Poor boy and poor you!

shelbTa · 07/08/2016 05:28

Aw bunch, the poor lad. Awful when your dog is ill, they are more than just pets.

4.30 wake up today for me.

X

PotatosMum · 07/08/2016 06:34

Morning ladies, how are you all today?

Soda I've heard about TENS machines and they showed us one at the birth class but I'm not going to bother. I keep thinking I survived red degeneration of my fibroid so I'll survive labour... I hope I'm not wrong! Confused

Hope you enjoyed dinner and have fun at your first class. Your bump looks lovely!

Bunch how are you feeling today?

Really hope you have good news about your pooch today. Hopefully it's just a tummy bug and dehydration and he'll be right as rain after a day or so at the vet. I will keep my fingers crossed for you Flowers

Totally understandable for you to be feeling a bit tearful and emotional at the thought of no longer being alone with your OH. I was feeling a bit like that a couple of nights ago. I absolutely adore the time I have alone with my OH and losing that will be difficult... On the bright side, eventually they go to Uni Wink

Pink I've not even thought about sleep bras, or any bras, I've been in sport bras for ages Blush

New that's a lovely bump photo. I so have neat bump envy Blush

Feef good luck finding and offering on the perfect house. I've still got my fingers crossed that everything goes without a hitch for you Smile

Leonie good luck at NTC Smile

Well, guess how much unpacking we did last night? Hmm
I don't think we'll do much today either, we need to go to IKEA and get DSS a new bed because DSD jumped on his camp bed and went straight through Hmm then we need to go to the DIY store to get some tools for altering the blinds we bought yesterday and finally we have to visit mum or she'll be upset.
On the bright side it's nice and overcast today so at least we won't be melting every time we try to do anything Smile

Managed to sleep from 11pm to 6:30am today and I only had to get up 3 times! what has my life become but now I'm awake I can't get back to sleep and I've got BH again Sad
Need to move some furniture about today so that we can get the Moses basket into our room, that's just a bit scary Shock

Pinklily1 · 07/08/2016 07:16

Morning

Another one here who's been awake since an ungodly hour. Feeling sick and have a dodgy tummy too Hmm

Sorry to hear your dog is poorly Bunch. Have they given any indication as to what has caused the dehydration?

Enjoy IKEA Potato. At least it won't be as bad as going on a Saturday Smile

I'm planning a lazy day today, need to get some housework done.

BunchOfBobs · 07/08/2016 07:38

Morning all,

Managed to sleep until 7 today but have been up every hour peeing and doing there mental check of "do I have any contractions yet".

Pink he had a bout of diarrhoea yesterday early hours followed by a mega vomming session yesterday evening which is what sent us to the vet. They were happy to send us home with rehydration sachets as it was borderline him needing a drip but I didn't trust that a- we'd get them into him b- I'd be able to sleep out of worry and c- that I wouldn't go into labour. So we decided the drip was the best bet. He was so lethargic in sure he slept as soon as we left. Just waiting on a call to see how he is now.
Hope you feel better soon. I also need to get housework done today. I don't know why I always save it for Sundays.

Thanks potato hoping its just a bug too. I feel the same as I have so far but in not up and about yet so can't really say. I'm bloody starving though. Time to kick DH awake I think.
Still no contractions and just BH as per.

LisaTheSimpson · 07/08/2016 09:29

Oh Bunch, your poor little dog. I hope he gets better soon.

One of our cats injured his paw a few months ago and had to be kept in for an operation. It wasn't that serious but I think the pregnancy hormones added to my worry and I really missed the little furry thing. Obviously it was all fine in the end.

Mileymoocow · 07/08/2016 09:31

bunch how is sherlock doing? Have you heard? I'd be beside myself, too but I'm sure he will be on. They love to worry us! Milo sends his love

new and soda wow!!!! So many amazing looking bumps around. Looking great Grin

pink I'm using the bras I bought from mothercare to sleep in and have ordered some new nursing bras that have actual support. I might as well not be wearing anything! I have to stuff them with a breast pad if I leave the house in them because of erect nippleitus.

feef sorry you're not sleeping well Sad makes things so much more difficult! I managed to sleep from about 11 til 4.30 but I'm going to have to have an afternoon nap cause I'm having to pick my dad up from the airport at 10pm. It'll be 11ish by the time I get home and it always takes me ages to get to sleep so by the time my alarm goes off for work at 5 I'll be no use to anyone

Mileymoocow · 07/08/2016 09:35

I have no housework to do and I'm really quite miffed. I really enjoy cleaning at the minute Blush I realise how horrendously mental/sad that sounds but I did it all yesterday. Not even a load of washing to do Hmm

I was at my friends last night, she has an 18 month old and he is seriously amazing. I've never seen him cry and he's the cutest ever! Really hope we have a baby similar to him
