Eek, Bunch, how exciting! (But obviously also frustrating and tiring for you, you poor thing). I hope the rest of your labour isn't so dramatic.

Potato, I don't think you've overreacting at all. You've just moved into a new house and you've had all these plans and dreams about what you'll do and things you've looked forward to. If you can't physically do them, fair enough, but I don't think it's all bossy for you to have a go or say it's it's important for you to do some of the tasks. Hope you're enjoying it!

Soda, sorry about your NCT class. I bet the Italian couples are loving it! I agree with Lillian that there's a lot of pressure on it being the way to create friends (expensive friends), and I think we all go into it with very high expectations, which can easily be shattered. My group is nice but quite small - only four couples including us, and one is leaving soon to relocate to another part of the country. As others have said, I'm hoping we all just keep in touch and even if we don't have anything in common right now, to make sure we have the babies in common.

Leonie. Interesting about the age difference. Hopefully that won't matter once you all have babies in common. I hadn't thought about age; I think our group is pretty similar (late 20s/early 30s).

Re leggings - agree with others about ASOS Maternity ones. Not too expensive and come up easily over my bump.

32 weeks today and feeling quite tired easily. Have a funeral today unfortunately, and need to make sure I don't disturb it by needing to go to the loo every five minutes!

shelbTa · 08/08/2016 08:12

Morning

Eeekkkkk bunch!!!!!! Good luck.

Ah potato take it steady - moving house is so stressful and the pressure to get everything done at once.

Going to order asos leggings today if people say they are good.

37 weeks today Blush.

X

ElleSarcasmo · 08/08/2016 08:32

Morning all!

Sounds like early labour Bunch? OMG how exciting! Hope you can get some rest today to build your strength up...at least you're well prepared!

Potato insomnia's rubbish isn't it? Sad. Will you be able to have a nap later? Don't worry about the unpacking too much, we still have loads of boxes 3 months down the line Blush

Lovely bump pics ladies! You're all so neat. I've got neat bump envy too Potato! 24 weeks today and I feel very round!

I have got 2 pairs of Jojo Maman leggings Pink which I love. I plan to wear them when baby's here too. Asos maternity stuff has been good in general so if I get more leggings I may get them from there.Good plan with the outfits Shelb!

Shelb yay for 37 weeks! Have you finished work now?

Soda that's a bummer about the NCT group. How are the other couples in the group? Ours doesn't start until September but I've only really joined to make friends, so it would be a bummer not to click with anyone.

Pinklily1 · 08/08/2016 08:35

Morning all

I hope today goes ok Lisa Flowers

Our NCT group are all between about 26-35 (I'm 33 and OH is 32), and we seem to get along well. It's totally pot luck though as to the mix of people and ages you get, which is a bit of a risk when the classes aren't exactly cheap!

Potato, stand your ground. If there are specific things you want to do and he tries to take over, could you maybe say you are leaving that thing for a few more days and tell a little fib as to why? It's your house, it should be up to you what you do.

Bunch, how are you now? Has the bleeding stopped? I didn't realise it could be period like either. Fingers crossed for you that this is the start of something. It's so exciting that we will start having thread babies soon.

We put our car seat in the car yesterday and have just ordered the last few bits for my hospital bag. It's getting real now Shock Are people packing snacks for themselves and OH? If so, what kind of thing? So far I have porridge pots and some Percy Pigs Grin

I've got my consultant appointment today at the new hospital to check out my platelets. I'm hoping it will be a non-event and that everything is fine.

Pinklily1 · 08/08/2016 08:36

Aaah, sorry for double post!

Laurenrl · 08/08/2016 08:37

Good luck bunch! Must have been terrifying seeing all that blood though!!

Newmrs22 · 08/08/2016 08:54

Ooh good luck Bunch get some rest. It's useful to know about the blood. I would have panicked a lot.

Soda maybe next time they'll be more friendly. At our sessions the lady running it really made sure we all did group work with different people. She probably clocked that they were being cliquey and will try and balance it out next week.

Potato hope he doesn't irritate you too much. Could you give him specific jobs? Like a list straight away of crap tasks you don't want to do and say 'ooh I'd really like this done..but I'm pregnant...' To make him feel good and keep him out of the way.

I think I've been having BH this morning. I feel a bit weird to be honest.

BunchOfBobs · 08/08/2016 08:56

Oh this is defiantly the start of something ladies.
I'm finally home, and I would now describe these as contractions. Not regular atall yet and won't be potentially for days but I have a feeling we'll be headed back to the hospital
In the next 24 hours.
Just have breakfast round two (had a bagel at McDonald's) and then a shower because I feel disgusting then time for bed. When I wake it's full on hypno time as I am FREAKING and fully expect to burst into tears at any minute.

Pink snack wise I have dried apple, doted apricots, flapjacks, soreen, bananas, coconut water and fig rolls for after Grin

I feel so exhausted I think because of the full on adrenaline wake up, not Being able to feel Pip move until we nearly got to the hospital too and then just being smiled at and told "it's just your show" has caused one hell of a crash. When I saw the speculum it was clear it was a bloody show as there was a hell of a lot of muscus and blood. But when I literally had blood dripping onto the bathroom floor it was another matter.
Please though if anyone has bleeding don't assume it's your show, they told me I did the right thing going in and if it gets heavier to go straight back.

Feefeefs · 08/08/2016 08:59

So impressed by all the cleaning!!

Hope your coccyx is ok leonie!

How much does NCT cost?

Congratulations on 37 weeks shelbta!

I feel miles behind everyone but 22 weeks today!!

Eek good luck bunch!!

LaraG13 · 08/08/2016 09:05

So sorry for not keeping up or writing in ages. Find the thread just moves too fast for me. But still check in and read with interest.

Had to write to say bunch I'm really really excited for you. Good luck!! Think positive, strong thoughts.

Hoping everyone else is keeping well. Xxxx

shelbTa · 08/08/2016 09:05

Bloody hell bunch!!! I don't even know you but I'm so excited for you!

Pink - I need to get snacks too. Think flapjack will be good shout. Trying to think of anything fresh I can take as too much dried stuff makes me feel nauseas these days.

How do you feel weird newMrs?

X

IndiX · 08/08/2016 09:44

Morning ladies.

Aahh bunch I know you've had a stressful night but I was smiling with excitement reading your posts. I hope baby gets here soon, get lots of rest.

Potato I have the same with my FIL except mind is slightly sexist and opinionated on top. Thank god he lives 6 hours away but I can imagine the frustration. Maybe give him a list of jobs you want him to do so he has a set task when he gets there, then you can get on with your jobs when he's gone.

Pink good luck with the appt.

Leonie sorry about your coccyx, I feel your pain with the back problems!

I start my ante-natal classes next week, I was looking forward to them at first but now I can't really be arsed. I'll still go though as I'm sure I'll learn some stuff. I initially thought it would be good to make friends but we will be moving next summer anyway, I guess it's handy for when baby first arrives and in the first few months.

I've been very hormonal and scared the last few days. Just generally nervous about being a mum and my life changing completely. Also Beanie's movements seem to have changed the last couple of days, she's still active but not as crazy as usual and more rolls, and I keep getting sharp pains in my pubic area ( feels like when you are desperate for a wee and it hurts) so maybe she is just rolling on to my bladder. Also my sciatica has been really bad so I've just felt a bit miserable. Going to try to be positive today though, I hate being a misery!

Danni89 · 08/08/2016 10:06

Wow Bunch, he's on his way! Good luck girl! Can't wait to hear some news

indi - I get nerves too, but trying to be positive and holding once he's here I'll figure out what's best to do, having family close by helps too

Newmrs22 · 08/08/2016 10:09

I need to get snacks. Some good ideas here. I should probably be more organised by now Blush

shelb I feel kind of nauseous and exhausted. I slept quite badly so it's probably just that.

IndiX · 08/08/2016 10:10

I'm a bit anxious and having a bit of a meltdown. beanie's movements haven't been the same since yesterday, she's usually very active and now I'm getting the odd roll and kick. I've phoned the maternity ward and they said to lie on my side for an hour and eat something sweet and monitor the movements, if they aren't back to normal then to phone back. I'm so worried

IndiX · 08/08/2016 10:43

Ok feeling a bit better now, had a load of fruit and porridge and she's started wriggling more. God pregnancy can be so worrying!

Newmrs22 · 08/08/2016 11:09

Indi glad she's moving more. Keep an eye on it and don't feel shy about ringing back if you're not sure. They are always happy to check out reduced movement. I've done it and they were lovely.

leoniethelioness · 08/08/2016 11:15

So I've been to the GP and she has signed me off work until 1 September which is when my annual leave is due to start before maternity leave. I am feeling very, very guilty but she insisted it was her decision and I hadn't made her do anything. I think when I started crying (I am so embarrassed) she knew I am not coping well.

Just had my first co-codamol that she prescribed and feeling guilty about that too - haven't had any medication all pregnancy. I know it'll help me cope better though and I won't be so stressed and upset which is good for the baby.

Fretting about everything I've just left at work that I planned to do this week. Trying to get remote access so I can do a handover.

GP happy for me to get back in touch if co-codamol working so I might be able to go back to work.

Waiting for urgent physio referral too.

Going to have a bit of a cry because I am both so relieved and feel so guilty about being signed off, and then try to forward the rest of my urgent emails on.

This is not what I expected to happen today.

shelbTa · 08/08/2016 11:23

Glad ok indi.

Aw leonie - I understand that internal struggle with work, even when people say 'you've got to think of yourself and the baby' it's still hard. I haven't caught up enough with what your suffering with but if gp reckons you should be signed off they don't do that lightly.

X

leoniethelioness · 08/08/2016 11:32

Pelvic girdle pain, shelb. Sitting down being my main challenge.

I'm only 32+5. I can't get my head around the idea of not going back to work until the end of maternity leave...

Mileymoocow · 08/08/2016 11:39

Leonie I know it's difficult but try to remember that your GP has yours and your babies best interests in mind.

When are/did people start maternity leave? I'm due 8th October and my leave doesn't start til 3rd Oct but am taking 2 weeks annual leave before hand (last day 16th sept).

bunch I'm so excited for you!!! Good luck!!

shelbTa · 08/08/2016 11:39

Ah. Do I remember correctly that you work in law? Yeah that must be a crazy feeling not going back!

X

Newmrs22 · 08/08/2016 11:54

Leonie don't worry about work. Its important to stay well. the Gp wouldn't sign you off if you didn't need it!

Miley I went off at almost 36 weeks. I've done 3 weeks off and it's been great! I feel so much better without work. I'm ready for baby to come soonish now though Grin

Sodasoda · 08/08/2016 12:00

Indi glad everything is ok. If you have any doubts just go in though - I did and they were lovely. How many weeks are you? Since around 30ish weeks I've definitely noticed slightly different movements - less pronounced punches etc and more squirming around. Running out of room Smile

Leonie sorry you're in pain and you've been signed off. I can understand your guilt but as you say, it was the dr decision and they have your and baby's best interests.

Pink good luck at appt.

Potato hope your FIL doesn't drive you mad!

Miley I'm intending to start ML at 38+2. I have this week, then a week of annual leave and then 2 more weeks in the office. My commute isn't too bad on the tube, my work isn't too strenuous and apart from my feet I feel ok (touch wood!). Work are also really flexible and I know if I'm struggling I can work from home if I need to. I'm definitely on the countdown now though!

Re NCT I can't remember the cost as we paid ages ago. Over £200 I think so not cheap. It'll be the same group next week too. Trying to stay positive, there'll be plenty of baby groups I can go to near me if I don't click with anyone at NCT. Very keen on making friends - my family are all in the north along with quite a few friends. I do have friends in London but none who will be off in the day time to hang out with!

Re snacks in hospital bag - I've got lucozade, cereal bars and flapjacks. Soreen is a great shout though!

Mileymoocow · 08/08/2016 12:06

I'll be 37 weeks when I start my holiday and 39 when mat leave officially starts! I'm contemplating bringing it forward a couple of weeks. I'm really not enjoying the desk job I have to do now and I start work at 7am so am exhausted by hone time!

indi glad beanie is moving. I've had a few mini panics due to movement and have been in to be monitored before - if you feel like you need to please don't hesitate! I felt daft when they found the heart rate almost straight away and all was ok, but they were lovely and assured me they'd rather I went in than sat stressing!
