Mileymoocow · 29/07/2016 13:36

Aw bunch I'm thrilled for you!!! Grin

Yep indi! Almost caught me out, too!! Blush

PotatosMum · 29/07/2016 14:17

Going to have a quick me, me, me post. Potato has been really quiet today. I have felt the odd shuffle but nothing like normal. I've tried all the things that usually make her active, lunch, sugary stuff, cold drinks, sitting upright for a long period but not had much at all. Now just waiting for OH to come home so I can go up the hospital and get checked. Quite worried about my little fidget Sad

Bunch glad your parents are home safe Grin

Yay, Bunch!

I didn't sleep for hours and hours last night. I've been shattered so went to bed at 8.30... Woke up at 10.30, 12 and 1.30. I was awake until about 3 in the morning. When I finally got up for work at 6, I had a headache and sore throat. I've taken a sick day and spent from 8 until 12 asleep in bed. I've been awake for about 2 hours but thinking of going back to bed... I need to bring my maternity leave forwards, don't I? I am so slow and uncomfortable. It hurts to turn over in bed. I am practically immobile by the evening - so stiff and my hips/tailbone/lower back ache. I know that insomnia and aches and pains are normal, but I'm not toughing it out well.

I'm due to finish work at 37+1. Would 36 weeks be too soon to finish? I've only got 3 weeks before I effectively go part time (using AL to drop to 3 days a week). I feel guilty about going earlier as my colleague whose job is most similar to mine leaves for a new job on Friday, another colleague went on mat leave yesterday, and another is off on secondment after Tuesday - and it's holiday season too. I just feel wrecked though. 😑😦

leoniethelioness · 29/07/2016 14:19

Potato Get a cab to the hospital to get checked out. xxx

Mileymoocow · 29/07/2016 14:24

potato is there no other way to get to the hospital to get checked? Sure everything is okay but best to be checked.

I don't think 36 weeks is too early leonie and at the end of the day, you and your babies health is the most important thing to consider wether they're thin on the ground at work or not.

IndiX · 29/07/2016 14:31

Bunch yay for your parents being home safe and sound!

Potato I'm sure all will be well but can you get to the hospital any sooner? Have you spoken to your midwife?

Leonie I wouldn't worry about others tbh, its only a week earlier than you were planning to leave anyway and I'm sure they will be able to cope without you for a tiny bit longer. You need to do what's right for you and your baby. Glad you've taken a day off today, relax and try to rest as much as you can this weekend.

PotatosMum · 29/07/2016 14:35

I could go up without OH but I don't want to go alone just in case something is wrong. He finishes work at 4 and may be able to get away early if I can get hold of him.

I'm sure everything is fine and Potato is just as shattered as I am at the moment but either way I'm going to wait for OH.

OP posts:
PotatosMum · 29/07/2016 14:37

Oh, and we live about 10 minutes from work and 15 minutes from hospital so once OH does leave work he'll be here quicker than I can put shoes on Hmm

OP posts:
PotatosMum · 29/07/2016 14:41

I think Potato has just developed hiccups, does that count as movement Hmm

OP posts:
PotatosMum · 29/07/2016 14:47

Sorry for the multiple posts... She's now hiccuping like it's going out of fashion and has wriggled around a bit.

I had pet rats who used to do this. Act like they're dying until you take them to the vet and then turn around and suddenly be fit as a fiddle Confused

OP posts:
IndiX · 29/07/2016 15:01

Haha sorry potato but I love the comparison to your attention seeking rats! Wait for OH if you feel better going with him, I'm sure she probably is just knackered or having a quiet day. Beanie has really active days where it feels like she doesn't stop moving all day and then the next day she can be a bit quieter. Try the ice water again?

BunchOfBobs · 29/07/2016 15:29

Potato they say not to count hiccups as movement. Can you call OHs work to try get hold of him sooner?

PotatosMum · 29/07/2016 15:44

Hello all, false alarm, she was being a lazy cow and is now wriggling around normally. I'm going to be mindful of her activity but I don't think I'll go to the hospital now she's moving around.

OP posts:
Danni89 · 29/07/2016 15:46

Glad your parents are home bunch!

Glad you've felt some movement potato, but go get checked out if your still concerned

leonie it's fine to finish earlier, you need to "listen to your body"- as my prenatal yoga teacher says lol

leoniethelioness · 29/07/2016 15:51

Potato Glad you're both OK

Danni Thank you xxx

Newmrs22 · 29/07/2016 17:20

Potato glad she's moving again. Keep an eye on it.

leonie I highly recommend finishing earlier. I finished at 35+3 and feel so much better now.

bunch so pleased your parents are home. Now you can pop Grin

PotatosMum · 29/07/2016 17:24

So we're at the hospital. OH got home and decided that we'd only sit around worrying if we didn't so here we are.
Just waiting for our turn as they're quite busy.

In other news. Saw myself in a full length mirror and completely freaked. I can handle the chubbyness everywhere and the bump but below my bump I have a massive wobbly pouch of fat Sad its gross! No more cake or sweets for me!

OP posts:
Pinklily1 · 29/07/2016 17:45

Yeah for your parents being back Bunch! I bet it's such a relief for you having them home. As someone said, now baby can come Smile

Another one here who thinks you look amazing!

Leonie, if you feel like you want to finish early then go for it. Work will sort itself out and you and baby are more important.

Re chairs, we have the poang from IKEA as well. I didn't want to pay the prices they charge for proper nursing chairs. Poang seems really comfy so I am going to get some cushions to pad out the arms a bit.

Re changing mats, we have a gap around ours too, but I think it's fine.

Potato, hope all is well when you get seen Flowers Do you go to a&e or the maternity department?

I've been wondering about movement too over the past few days. I usually feel most movement in the evening when we are just lounging on the sofa. Over the past few days there has been definite movement still but I don't think it's as much as usual and it's bothering my a bit. I was putting it down to a reduced amount of space for baby to wriggle in. When she does move the are definite thumps. Has anyone else had that as they get bigger?

Feefeefs · 29/07/2016 18:38

But narky again today it roasting hot here!! Glad I'm not the only one bickering with OH.

My boss is tactless at the best of times and kept asking me did I need to go home as I was he same colour as my white dress Angry I'm absolutely fine. Irritating.

That wedding sounds lovely potato. I like a small wedding. I like the party plan too pink we didn't have first dances or anything like that either.

I think you look great bunch loads of your weight will be fluid too I bet! DH does laugh or imitate me too sometimes drives me nuts. Glad your parents have got here delighted for you.

Don't feel guilty leonie you need to look after you.

Hope you get seen quickly potato and they put your mind at ease

LisaTheSimpson · 29/07/2016 18:52

Pink, are you seeing the midwife again soon? If not, perhaps worth getting it checked out? As others have said, any change in movement is worth investigating, just to be sure.

LisaTheSimpson · 29/07/2016 18:53

Potato, fingers crossed everything goes well at the hospital x

LisaTheSimpson · 29/07/2016 19:39

So, lovely TMI story for you all...

On my way home on the train I felt really uncomfortable, and had lots of aches low down. Figured I was tired and getting a numb bum on the seat. Thought I would have a nap when I got home.

Anyway, pop to the loo for a wee when I get home and all of a sudden I realise I need to poo. I do this MASSIVE poo (like I haven't been in days, even though I've been regular with no problems), and all the aches and pains go away! I felt amazing!

I go downstairs and tell DH I just needed to do a really big poo and isn't that great, and he looks at me like I'm the most disgusting creature ever. Hmm Told him he's got some shocks in store if that story freaks him out ..... Grin

IrregularCommentary · 29/07/2016 20:01

Haha Lisa, massive poos are the absolute best. Nothing more satisfying! I've had exactly the same thing before as well with being really twingey and uncomfortable before realising I just need the loo!

Pink 30+1 here and I can definitely relate to the thump description! She's also fighting with my ribs for the space they traditionally occupy. It's not comfortable...

Bunch, really pleased your parents are home safe. Baby time now please Smile

Potato, hope everything is ok with baby potato.

Feefeefs · 29/07/2016 20:23

What's perhaps more disgusting Lisa is how happy I am for you and your poo!
