Feefs, what did your OH do?!

Co5mo · 28/07/2016 21:29

Miley your bum is not big!

Came home from aquanatal to our Mothercare delivery. We have a crib in the house..eek it's all getting a bit real.

Danni89 · 28/07/2016 21:36

Looking good miley... A curvy arse is a good thing in my opinion

PotatosMum · 28/07/2016 21:51

Bunch I wish my OH wouldn't let me change the duvet cover.

Good luck I King up your parents tomorrow Smile

Miley I think they introduced electronic tagging after that story last year where the mentally ill woman walked out of a hospital with her newborn and jumped off a cliff. It made a lot of places step up security.

I won't really know if I'll have a reaction to being in hospital or not until it happens. I'll just have to wait and see but at the moment I'm just hoping I don't have to stay in and then there's no issue Smile

What a cute bump you have Smile and your ass is about a third the size of mine! Shock OH informed me today that if I want to get married next year he expects me to be at least as slim as I was in our Christmas photo last year... No cake for me for a while Blush

Pink the funeral was fine as was the wake. OHs auntie kept coming over to hug me and thank me for making OH so happy... And threaten OH with bloody murder if he didn't look after me Wink she was so sweet.

The cousin that's pregnant that we can't stand was there too, complaining loudly to anyone who stood near her for more than two second that her ankles and wrists have swollen and also telling everyone that she was given another diabetes test at 38 weeks and was told she has gestational diabetes but she only failed the test because three days before she ate three magnums and that she only had diabetes for a couple of days Hmm I explained in detail to OH why that was complete rubbish... And this woman is a teacher Shock

Yep, to needing to wee the moment you stand up. Sometimes I'll get up from the toilet and need to turn around before I get to the bathroom door Blush

Elle glad you've been tested recently and feel ok Smile how's the swelling now?

Feef I second the nosiness, what did OH do to deserve a head biting?

I've had the worse indigestion ever the past couple of days and it's making me feel really bloated Sad

OP posts:
BunchOfBobs · 28/07/2016 22:12

I'm jealous of those whose feet have gone down. Mine haven't reduced in 3 weeks, they're so achey and uncomfortable. I'm in a size up in trainers and 3 sizes up in flip flops as due to the swelling I can't fit under the straps. I'm wearing men's size 9-12 trainer socks too.

Miley you look so lovely and trim. I was told how massive I was today by a physio- delightful. Me and another lady at hydro have the same due date, physio said "wow really?, but you're so much bigger!". What the actual?! Who says that.
Osteopath spent lots of time on my feet and back today as one been in so much pain, I kind of love her but won't see her again until after baby now.

I've got the car seat in and hospital bags in the car, so bizarre! At parents now and had some great fun after doing their food shop trying to find where to put anything. I'm sure I'll be told tomorrow it's all in the wrong place.

Feef I've also been a hormonal DH teller offer the last few days. I literally walked out on him today and slammed the door then drove to the osteopath. Blush Poor DH doesn't know what to do when I get like it.

IndiX · 28/07/2016 23:43

Miley I'm sure if I'd have such a rough time with sickness id be the same as you! You look lovely and neat so I wouldn't worry at all, there will be time once baby is here to get back to the gym.

Pink I'm 29 weeks, I notice that baby doesn't move as much when I'm at the gym but I put that down to her being rocked to sleep as I'm active. I've been doing mostly spinning, circuits (weight and cardio based), metafit and some long walks. It depends how you feel in yourself when you want to stop. I want to keep going right until the end for my mind and body or I'll go insane and very cranky if I can but will just see how my body feels. I've put 1st7lbs on now and I am starting to feel heavier when jumping around though and yes I do feel a bit knackered later in the day.

Bunch that's so exciting and crazy that your car is all packed and ready to go! Also your physio sounds like a rude twat..I don't get why people think it's ok to make 'big' comments?!!!

Mileymoocow · 29/07/2016 07:19

Oh my god bunch I'm so so soooooo excited you have pip's things in the car! You don't look like you've put any extra weight on apart from the obvious actual baby etc! You still look amazing so god knows what your god awful physio is talking about. I find rude comments tend to mostly come from overweight people which I find funny. Already this morning I've been told I'm small for 30 weeks and that I'm looking 'more sturdy'... hmm.

Thanks for all the lovely comments ladies! I've always been chunky in the butt so I'm not overly bothered, I'm feeling it more in my arms and face Blush

Feefeefs · 29/07/2016 07:51

Yeah I'm ridiculous, it was proper irrational rage, MIL bought us some lovely steaks as only semi-craving so far (just red meat in general but especially steak) he said he would cook them and then put them on and left the room to play guitar-he had a timer on- but I took this very personally and bit the head of him for not caringBlush. He'd had a really bad day in work tho. All sorted and happy again now.

Glad the osteopath was good bunch so exciting you have pips stuff all in the car very exciting!!!

PotatosMum · 29/07/2016 08:11

Morning ladies, how are you all today?

Bunch your physio sounds delightful Hmm

Feef I'm glad you sorted things out with OH... I've said it once and I'll say it again, never mess with a pregnant lady's food! Wink

I've got a blood test in a bit. Not looking forward to it as I feel ragged as it is. I can only imagine that a blood test will make me feel worse.

I'm still hoping we're going to exchange on the house today. Apparently we're ready as are our sellers but our buyers haven't transferred their deposit yet Angry what happens today will depend on them pulling their fingers out! Annoyingly the sales progresser doesn't work on Fridays so I can't even get her to hassle them. They're both retired so why they couldn't go to the bank yesterday I don't know.

Looking forward to finishing the packing this weekend. I'm hoping it'll feel a bit more real then.

Still have shocking indigestion. It's making it hard to sleep Sad

ElleSarcasmo · 29/07/2016 08:18

Thanks Pink, hopefully I'll make it while it's still out!

Potato I woke up with normal feet and ankles today. Hopefully now it's colder they'll stay that way for a while. I think I'll be like you later on Bunch, sorry you're suffering.

Indi I'm well impressed that you've kept up with exercise so well. I'm managing to swim 2-3x per week (more if I can) but not sure it's intense enough to make much difference to my body!

Potato don't think about the weight now! I'm sure it will drop off when baby's out and you can get back to normal eating and activity levels. Getting married is good motivation! Will you have to invite the mad cousin?

Glad you've patched things up with DH Feefs! I think it's normal to be a bit angry hope so anyway though I have been more weepy than angry! My DH really can't cope with tears.

PotatosMum · 29/07/2016 08:35

Elle annoying cousin is definitely not on the wedding list!
We're only having a tiny wedding. Getting married in a registry office with just very immediate family followed by a garden party and buffet at our new house for friends and family.
We don't want to spend much, OHs done it all before so not too fussed about the wedding part and I'm far too practical cheap to go in for a big expensive wedding. I'm even planning to make my own dress.
One of the girls I work with recently got married for the second time and spent about £30k on it Shock sod that for a game of soldiers, I'd rather knock a few years off the mortgage than spend that kind of money on a party!

Pinklily1 · 29/07/2016 08:53

Glad you have made up Feefs! I've not been too hormonal so far but OH and I did have a bicker last night. He seems to think that when I finish for mat leave we are just going to sit around twiddling our thumbs and waiting for baby to come. I want to get out and about as much as possible otherwise I'll go insane. All ok now though.

What a rude comment Bunch! It's like we are fair game for anyone to make comments I'm sure they wouldn't normally make. It's so exciting that your hospital bags are in the car ! Grin I'm planning on washing more stuff and finishing my packing this weekend.

Potato, glad it went ok in the circumstances. I'd tell your OH to bog off with the size comment. That said, I do feel a bit stressed about having to pick my wedding dress so soon after baby comes.

We also wanted a small wedding and nothing too traditional but when we started looking even small weddings were expensive here (although to be fair we didn't think about hosting it ourselves - that's a great idea!). We are now having about 80 people but still skipping some of the traditional stuff like first dance, speeches, ushers and bridesmaids. We'll have some page boys and flower girls but that's it. I hate being the centre of attention so a lot of the traditional stuff is my idea of hell. The aim is more of a party where we happen to get married Grin

Thank god it's Friday! What are everyone's plans for the weekend?

BunchOfBobs · 29/07/2016 09:32

I was In shock about the physio too, I almost get other people doing it- they know no better, but a physio who works with pregnant people?!!

Miley you are sweet but I've piled it on. Over 23kg now (3stone 9lb) Shock it's mostly gone on my ass and chins I'm sure!
Here's a photo of me at 8 weeks when I thought I had a bump showing ahhahaha and then the 19 week to 36 week comparison shot. I've put weight on EVERYWHERE! I don't mind through, I've enjoyed what I've eaten and I'm very much looking forward to the gym again.

Potato I hope you do get to exchange today, what ijjit buyers not to have transferred their deposit yet. Hope the blood test goes well and doesn't make you feel too rough.

Feefs completely justified in my mind! I flipped again this morning, I'm in a lot of pain, most particularly when getting in and out of bed. This morning DH decided to be brave a dick and imitate my huffing and puffing pain noises. After telling him off he asked what was for breakfast so I told him to go F himself. I was not impressed.

PotatosMum · 29/07/2016 09:50

Pink lol, to be fair to OH I had just informed him that I didn't want to be a hippo in my wedding photos so he was only joking Smile

Your wedding plans sound lovely. Grin I looked at small weddings too and we nearly went with one hosted by a local golf club but then we were talking about the things we like most at weddings and what we hate and it turned out that OH really wanted a festival type wedding and as we looked into it further we realised that a garden party would be perfect.

Bunch does your OH have a death wish? Lol

I've just realised I have the male nurse doing my bloods again. Last time he did it he was so incompetent that he cut my arm open when taking the needle out Hmm

OP posts:
LisaTheSimpson · 29/07/2016 10:02

Bloody hell, Bunch, you look awesome! If I look anything like you at 36/37 weeks I'll be very chuffed!

Also, great pic earlier, Miley! Another one here who thinks your arse looks great, but I understand the worry about it as that's where I've put loads of weight on too. Sometimes I get a little upset about it, but most of the time my reaction is just 'meh'. I figure I'll deal with all of this once the baby comes [firmly sticks head in the sand....]

IndiX · 29/07/2016 10:26

Morning!

Bunch you look amazing, it looks like you have only gained weight on your Bump and no where else. I hope I look that good in the later stages.

Elle tbh I go to the gym mostly for my mood. If I don't go 5 times a week then I am very cranky and feel generally shit and grumpy. I'm definitely one of those people who need to release their energy. As much as I would love to think that the gym has helped me not balloon yet, I still feel big and I'm getting used to the big feeling now. The gym is definitely for my mind (and keeping some sort of fitness) not so much for how I look. I did some swimming while on holiday and I forgot how tough it can be!

Ladies, what changing mats have you got? They all seem to be different sizes, does it have to fit perfectly on my changing unit or can there be a slight gap at the edges?

Also been looking at armchairs for the nursery, I don't like the look of a proper nursing chair, how bloody expensive are chairs?! Tk maxx had some lovely ones but for £250Shock think I'm going to have to look in ikea..anyone else got any recommendations for a nice but inexpensive chair?

Mileymoocow · 29/07/2016 10:42

indi we have a roll up roll up! one from mother care for the changing unit and a winnie the pooh one from babies r us for downstairs/other people's houses. They're just the bog standard wipe clean ones with foam around the edges to stop baby rolling (when able) and hurting. I don't think a slight gap would matter at all, ours isn't a perfect fit but is perfectly safe. We're going for the poang chair from ikea as many others here have done I think! They're reasonably priced and do a good enough job

Co5mo · 29/07/2016 10:43

I've got an ikea Poang chair Indi. Had it for ages and it's very comfortable so we are moving that to the nursery and getting somethings new for our recently decorated lIvinghoe room. I will add some cushons for arm support as the arms are not cushioned.

Haven't bought a changing mat yet but I would think gaps are fine. You won't be leaving baby alone on top of it.

Bunch my DH has a similar death wish and narrowly avoided execution by announcing an unplanned date night immediately after imitating my attempts to get out of bed this morning. I'm a bit like an upturned tortoise with a broken hip.

IndiX · 29/07/2016 11:06

Thanks Miley and Cosmo, I was looking at the Tullsta tub chair which is £80 in ikea but I've just seen the poang is £40 on Amazon so maybe that's the better option, I can always jazz it up with a nice cushion and throw.
Going to order a standard changing mat, I didn't know if they had to fit perfectly but I'll just get a cheapish, easy clean one. As you say I won't be leaving baby alone on it.

BunchOfBobs · 29/07/2016 11:12

I don't know what it is with him potato, co5mo but the last 3 days he's either forgotten I'm pregnant or is literally digging his own resting place. He's suddenly started walking around supermarkets etc much faster, laughing when I attempt to pick things up and generally pissing me right off. He's been warned already once on this journey (currently en route to pick up parents Grin) I can't be doing with blowing up at him when my parents are just home.

I've certainly put weight on in many other places than my bump but thank you everyone. I need to do a face comparison from early pregnancy to now. It's a huge difference. I am hopeful at least a stone of the weight I've put on is the water retention in my feet and legs.

Potato a garden party wedding sounds lovely. Eek I hope he's learned the error of his ways and you come out unscathed this time.

Indi I have the standard foam wipe able changing mat in the nursery for on top of the chest of drawers and an IKEA one for downstairs on top of a dresser. I think a gap will be fine.

Oops double post.

Mileymoocow · 29/07/2016 11:14

Definitely go for it if you've seen it for that cheap! We paid about £80 for ours. Please make sure it's not the children's size one as I nearly made that mistake

LisaTheSimpson · 29/07/2016 11:24

Bunch, there will also be a lot of weight in your water/blood retention generally, not just your feet and legs.

A few friends/relatives who have recently given birth says it comes in four stages:

  1. The dramatic weight loss from not having a baby inside you anymore (obvs)
  2. Dramatic loss over the next few days after as the water sweats out of you and the blood comes out (not very nice - we've all heard about all the blood, and apparently you wake up drenched in sweat)
  3. More reasonable weight loss as you breastfeed (if you do), and adjust to a new eating routine.
  4. Longer-term weight loss as you try to diet the weight off (if you want to), which is slower and obviously harder.

I'm hoping 1, 2, and 3 will do most of the hard work for me! Grin

IndiX · 29/07/2016 12:06

Miley good job you mentioned the children's size, the original one I was looking at was a kids one! That would've been a shock to get that delivered Hmm
I've seen this Pello one so thinking of getting it, it doesn't say the dimensions but on the q&a section it does say it's for adults. Here's hoping!

Bunch well I think you look great, I've heard off a lot of people not to worry about the number on the scale as it does drop off pretty quickly.
Lisa that surprisingly makes me feel a bit better not looking forward to the excess sweat and blood though

Thread #9 - TTC#1 grads thread - it's the final countdown
