Quick post to say good luck bluebell and bird how exciting!!
Hugs to you anna Flowers

pulpi these problem are bastards!! Stay away at all costs!! And eat a packet of biscuits . And a cake. A whole cake

dats my greedy obsession with H-D cookies and cream is yet to cease Blushand I just found my 2nd and 3rds just slotted in to our existing routine. I loves a routine. Obvs not for baby but I've just been squeezing his demands in around normality. The hardest part is getting up to get them to school/nursery when you may have only had 30mins sleep from the baby!

Dats - may I ask where you live, that it rained all day? We had a few minutes of spitting and that's all (soz). I'm really sorry to hear about your dad. Thanks for your kind words re DH - yes, it hasn't been one of the happiest times of my life like it's supposed to be, but hey ho - life has its ups and downs, and I've had my fair share of ups in this relationship too. Plus things are now better than they were - he's being his usual lovely self again, even if he's not excited about the baby. Glad you had a good day with the house. I LOVE radiohead and haven't listened to that album for years - must dig it out!

Looking forward to hearing from Bluebell and Bird! Am enjoying reading the postnatal thread too - great that they're still being as chatty on the other side - my highlights have been baby Indian's hair and Elliz's poo.

Had a lovely brunch with my guy-friends and then enjoyed the rest of the day with DH, watching the tennis and tidying/nesting.

What food has everyone packed in their hospital bags?

Julfin - ha glad to see my poo has transitioned to the antenatal thread, it was certainly substantial enough to do so!

No.1 advice for hospital bag food was energy / health bars and lots of water. I went to Holland & Barrett and bought out their hilarious selection of spirulina/superfood/cocoanib bars and oh and I amused ourselves blind tasting them trying to figure out just what was in them. Come to think of it, they are almost certainly responsible for said poo ...

Ha ha thanks Elliz! I've gone for lots of energy/cereal bars and sports gels. Hadn't even thought about drinks - will lob some in.

Hey ladies, waiting to go into day unit for reduced movement assessment, they are busy though so can't see me until 1pm anyone that's been in give me a heads up? Typically he has started moving now I called and spoke to them but they have said still to go in? Trying to get hold of DH to see if he wants to come but not sure if it will just be a waste of everyone's time when we get there and I am sure he will be merrily moving around Confused

pulpi · 11/07/2016 11:03

Elliz and Juflin - I've packed some Nakd bars and mixed nuts already, and once things kick off (eventually) I'll make up some sandwiches for DH and I. Apparently our midwifery unit comes complete with a kitchen that has an endless supply of chocolate biscuits! What luck!

MrsRolly a tricky little one you've got, eh? But at least when you go in and see the baby is fine, everyone will be able to rest easy.

dats and cookies - I've not craved any ice cream yet, but chocolate milk has appeared in my fridge inexplicably over the past few days. Either I'm searching out childhood comfort food or my body needs the extra sugar/fat.

Off to check out Elliz's poo on the postnatal thread...

Mrs rolly they'll want to be cautious and will put you on a ctg to monitor movements over 20 mins up to an hour. If they are happy with the movements they'll let you. Im sure all will be fine, usually they start perking up when on the machine. How far gone are you now?

Hahaha mascara I feel ya! Husband bought dried apricots to take, and I'd eaten them all within an hour.

Figure I must be starting to stress/get anxious now because I have 3 mouth ulcers. What the hell!!! Happens every time I get mildly stressed about something. Unimpressed.

First day down of last week of work. Woooohoooo.

Morning,

Thank you for your continued love! Well last night we were told mum wouldn't make the night... Que me not sleeping waiting for the phone call. Of course my mum is such a fighter that she is still going!!! God bless her, she's really hanging in there but I've told her to let go. I think she waiting for the baby but I just don't think it's going to happen. I had a really big chat with her yesterday and said everything I wanted, I'm sure are could hear me, so feel at peace now.

birch you're an angel in that case. This place is marvellous and they've been wonderful with me and my family. They have these knitted cats that they give to the kids to help them understand. It's marvellous. Just had a chat with the chaplain here who got me in tears. Something about him that is so calming. Anyway I'll stop blabbing on!

mrs rolly def go in, they like to be safe
And it's always nice to be reassured. I'm sure it's nothing to worry about it bub is moving.

Re snacks. I've got a few nature valley bars but last time I was quite unlucky in labour and was sick most of the time! Then once baby had come I wasn't hungry for ages and then I just wanted salad for a week after!

pulpi I almost bought choc milk today!!!! Had it in my hand and everything but decided against it as I'll just drink it all in one day as I'm a greedy pig.

I think baby has dropped down got a lot of pain when I walk and a constant back ache. Hoping it's not the start of labour. The house has been neglected and needs some love and I've got a spa day Thursday... I'm so selfish but just want that one day to myself!

Hope you're all well, sorry for blabbing. Find it cathartic xx

anna thinking of you. It's amazing how much people are able to fight.

mrsrolly it's still worth going in. I had that a while ago and they put me on the ctg anyway. They'll want to monitor the baby's heart for a little while and make sure there's plenty of variation in the rate.

julfin I think we've gone very a bit overboard on the food front. We've packed a cool bag with half a kilo of eat natural bars, a few flapjacks, a big bag of jelly tots (I can't stand fruit pastilles), enough raisins to feed the entire ward, straws and little cartons of juice. There's also a few more cartons of juice in the freezer to throw in the food bag at the last minute along with some pasta that dh has cooked and frozen for him to eat. I've also thrown in some decaf tea bags. I know our hospital will give the women tea and toast (and other food if you're there at meal times after the birth) but they don't stock decaf. Our food bag alone is almost as big as the bag(s) we've got for all the other bits and pieces for me, dh and the baby!

tams that made me giggle! As did you mascara eating all yours!

I've got some almonds and other nuts, some Eat Natural bars, some of those chavvy breakfast things...what are they called?? Belvita. Some Dr Karg's. No drink yet. Hopefully they won't be going anywhere near a hospital but I have to be ready. Last time I had breakfast and then vommed it all up at the very start of labour and the only thing I had was a bite of KitKat chunky. Which probably contributed to me passing out in the shower, post birth..!

Hi ladies - slightly in shock as had 40 week MW apt today and basically baby is really really big so booked in for induction tomorrow morning. Not what I was hoping for but as long as baby and me are safe that's the main thing. Reeling a bit!

Report
allthegoodnamesalreadytaken · 11/07/2016 14:03

cheery I know the feeling well. At my 38 week midwife appt I was measuring 42 weeks. The shock of it was overwhelming. I didn't quite meet the threshold for early induction but fully expect to be told that I do this week when I have my 40 week appointment. Try to focus on the positives at least you will meet your little one a lot sooner and apparently bigger babies are easier to birth everyone keeps saying (summat to do with gravity Hmm). Good luck and keep us posted.x
