New thread - the one where we stop being pregnant and become new mamas! So close to the end. Exciting!

Good luck for today's sections think it's lily and belager. Looking forward to a stats update later this morning.

Hope all is well with you biscuits any chance of a little picture of our very first thread baby?

bearhuggy · 15/07/2016 07:39

Morning everyone,
Thanks SO much for all your advice re. husband heading out of town. We spoke last night and have a couple of contingency plans in place. He isn't due to fly until this PM, so will make a final call on it a little later. I feel completely normal with no other 'symptoms' of labour, so I think it's still a while off, despite loosing the plug.... fingers crossed!
GOOD LUCK to those having sections today, can't wait for some news and will be thinking of you.
Off to Ikea this morning to get some final bits for the house, hoping to be in and out in an hour, wishful thinking I know !

Christinedonna · 15/07/2016 07:58

Good luck to the sections today! Major hand holding and eagerly waiting updates here! So exciting.
bear why don't you go to the hospital, get checked over for any signs of labour and go from there?

bearhuggy · 15/07/2016 08:12

great idea christine I am actually meeting a friend from antenatal who's baby is in the NICU so I will be in the same building as the clinic so will pop in for some reassurance!

Christinedonna · 15/07/2016 08:17

I think that's best. Then if you are, you know and it's not keeping him back for no reason, if you're not, you're both reassured and can relax about it. Is it just a weekend thing?

LotsOfDots · 15/07/2016 08:21

Good luck today those who have sections booked.

four and rum the relaxing days or pre first child mat leave... A dim and distant fond memory! Not sure I can carry on thinking of activities for my elder 2 until my due date, never mind going overdue... It's supposed to rain all day here, and I feel like we've covered most indoor activities I can think of!

No signs of imminent activity with this bump - 37+2 and seeming to be settled in for the long haul.

plimsolls · 15/07/2016 08:57

I don't know whether your children would go for it but when I was a nanny, a good favourite game when I was knackered was Beauty Salon/Hospital/Doll Factory. This involved me lying down with my eyes closed (yes!) whilst the children tended to me with little tubs of aqueous cream/warm water/cotton wool/body lotion etc. They could keep going for ages as they loved the novelty, and it was pretty relaxing for me. Win win.

Good luck and "EEEEEK so exciting!" for those of you getting to meet babies today!

bearhuggy · 15/07/2016 09:11

plimsoles that game sounds genius !!!! will remember for times of need :)

christine yep, he gets back 5pm Sunday to London, so it's only a short trip. Keep you all posted...

bexh83 · 15/07/2016 09:25

congratulations on you DD Biscuits.... a couple of days away from mumsnet makes a real difference these days, im please for your safe delivery and I hope she continues to improve quickly!

Bear ive been annoyed my husband wants to go to a club night (and hotel) a few hours away when im 39 wks, your a very understanding pregnant lady! get yourself checked out and you can both relax.

Sophia Ive had lower back and hip pains from the start, but suffering SPD since last week when i felt like I was being ripped apart (36wks today) - I paid for a physio session on Tuesday, all lower back spinal work - no worry about oils, could get in quickly and I think cost much less than a massage. OH called round a few local ish ones to check for understanding of SPD - I was definatley looser the next couple of days - which got me around a show I wanted to go to with lots of walking.

ToElleWithIt · 15/07/2016 13:25

Love the sounds of that game plimsolls I've filed it in the memory bank.

Very best of luck to the ladies heading in for sections today. Can't wait to hear the news.

bearhuggy if you manage to do Ikea in an hour then I need to know how! Thinking I may brave it on Saturday. Badly need some stuff from there.

Has anyone else's bump dropped? Mine definitely has in the last couple of days. This didn't happen last time. Probably means nothing, but at least it's making me get my arse in gear.

Christinedonna · 15/07/2016 13:35

Can't wait to hear another one of us has got their babies! I just can't stop thinking how it only feels like yesterday we were writing "just got my bfp" jw35 saw a thread I posted and told me about this thread and to come over..so glad I did, you've all kept me sane (as sane as I can get)!
elle mines always been low but I feel like it has got slowly lower the last week or so. The midwife yesterday said she's "almost engaged" so very low down! I keep thinking "omg it's so close" but at the same time it feels like a life time away. Just wish I knew when she's going to make her appearance. 5 days until 37 weeks and that would be perfect for me

lilygirl81 · 15/07/2016 18:02

Well, having been at the hospital all day, my section was cancelled at about 5:15. Totally frustrated, and starving, I'm to go back in tomorrow morning and they hope to do it then.

Feels very strange to not have my baby.

LotsOfDots · 15/07/2016 18:31

Oh, how frustrating lily, presumably they had a few emergencies so had to bump you down the list? Hope tomorrow is more straight forward!

Christinedonna · 15/07/2016 19:11

Oh lily what a pain! Did you get used to the date being baby's birthday? There was someone else wasn't there?

rumisyum · 15/07/2016 19:49

Oh lily, how incredibly disappointing! And torture, being nil by mouth all day! I hope you can have a lovely evening & a good sleep tonight & get to meet your little one first thing tomorrow.

Sophia1984 · 15/07/2016 20:03

How frustrating lily but you're so close and will hopefully get to meet baby tomorrow :-) Ty and have a restful night - though you must be so excited!

Does anyone know if an increase in baby movement can be a sign of things progressing? Little one is always active, but today he has been super, super squirmy, even though I've been in town and walking round all day, and he's still going. Can feel him everywhere - lots of flutters low down and twerking at the top of my bump!

Have also definitely got an increase in discharge (though doesn't look like mucus plug), and woke up this morning feeling incredibly rested and full of energy.

Have managed to tick a fair bit of my 'to do' list today, including getting my nursing bras. Also got an incredibly cute snowsuit with foxes on from TK Maxx.

Belager · 15/07/2016 21:32

Hi all, bit of a weepy day today.
Still in hospital, baby's movements are starting to reduce. I'm reeeally starting to worry as I want her cooking for as long as possible.
My headaches are also getting unbearable, at one point they turned off the lights in the ward because I became so photosensitive.

bear what's been decided?
34+3

Sophia1984 · 15/07/2016 22:48

So sorry you're having a tough time Belager - but glad you are in hospital and they're keeping an eye on you. I know ideally we all want our babies to get to full-term, but 34 weeks is brilliant. Babies born between 34 - 37 weeks are only slightly behind full-term babies and have done most of their development already. Have they needed to give you steroid injections or anything?

Shanster · 16/07/2016 01:10

That's rotten belager, I'm sure she'll be fine but you must be worried sick.

lily - at least you'll have your baby tomorrow?

I went in for a scan and bio today - baby has moved out of position and unraveled one of the loops around his neck. Midwife said I have loads of fluid so he has lots of room still to flip around still. Heartbeat and cord both were good. However, since he's wrapped himself up once, they want to keep an eye now, so I'm to have an ultrasound and bio once a week and was told to still be vigilant about tracking movements.

Biscuitswithtea · 16/07/2016 06:36

We didn't get home yesterday after all, and today looks unlikely too. DD became quite badly jaundice so they started phototherapy only that doesn't seem to be working yet. Paeds will review this am and take it from there.
Am utterly exhausted now!
Oh and turns out DD was never 6lb6 - the midwife struggled with the conversion from kilo to pounds Hmm Anyway, her weight loss hasn't been too drastic - she is now c5lb8 so that's something good :)

Christinedonna · 16/07/2016 07:12

Crazy amounts of pressure right in my bits this morning. I just couldn't get out of bed to go to the toilet because it hurt so much, literally felt like her head was out of me and I was having to manoeuvre and not squash it. Sign?

Dileas29 · 16/07/2016 07:37

sohphia I experienced the "twerking" sensation last night too haha! Not sure about it being a sign of labour but I too have had increased discharge over the past 3 days although not sure it's plug either as not with the brown tinge. 37+1

Anyone thinking of using clary sage? I heard its in one of the bath radox bottles so might pop out to get it!

biscuits so sorry to hear you are not leaving hospital yet. I was in for 6 days with DD when she had group B and started to go a bit bat sh*t after day 4. my husband had to plead with the consultant to let me go home as baby was clearly getting healthier (with my mental health being affected) and it was only because she had initially lost over 10% of her birth weight but was steadily gaining weight each day and it got to 0.01% difference which was stopping us leaving so a bit rediculous. Even if you take ten minutes for some fresh air it can make all the difference? I would daydream about the whole family being together once leaving and that would help too! Hang in there! DD also had phototherapy and was under it for a day before being taken off so you might not be in as long as you think! Lots of mumsynet hugs Flowers

bearhuggy · 16/07/2016 16:31

Hello gang,

bex and Belager thanks for checking in, husband is now in Budapest and everything is calm my end, no sign or symptoms so having a very relaxed weekend and hoping everything stays that way !! belager how are you feeling today? Hope headache is getting better.

elle I managed Ikea in 1 1/2 hours yesterday, must be a record! Was only able to do it with a very clear list and keeping my head down so I didn't get too distracted in the showroom areas Hmm Nursery is now looking almost done, got some new bits yesterday and just need to assemble the nursing chair. Pics attached.

lily sorry to hear of yesterdays disappointment, I hope you have now met your baby and cant wait for news! Sending you best wishes.

biscuits hoping today has been better for you and sorry you aren't home yet Flowers

christine I have been having the same at night when turning over, lots of pressure and weight bearing down...no idea if its a sign! How are you feeling now?

dileas I have clary sage, plan on using it end of next week...no idea if it works or not though! have also been told about raspberry leaf tea and dates?!

shan great that baby has un-looped a loop and also that they are monitoring you so well, are you feeling less anxious about it?

bearhuggy it's still very much there, really difficult to find a position that's comfortable to sit in. My new thing is waking up and crying. We've left all the big stuff at OH parents house and were planning on bringing the Moses basket and car seat home on Wednesday but I may ask him to go and get them today just so that's one less thing to worry about if anything does happen. How is everyone else? Hope we get some baby news today!

Belager · 17/07/2016 06:56

Morning all!
I finally got discharged yesterday, i have to check in with the hospital every other day though.
bear what a gorgeous nursery!
christine I have that pain too, the midwives checked it out and my baby's heads engaged. Maybe it's the same for you?
sophia thanks for your kind words, they really helped
shan yay to your unlooping baby!
