Haha I know Evangeline! I've been waiting all year for some lovely sunshine and now I'm too hot!

Anyone else getting heart palpitations? It's starting to freak me out a bit. I feel a bit crazy exhausted just by walking up the stairs as well. And I'm (in theory) a very fit and active person! Roll on October...

April241 · 19/07/2016 09:59

Hello Evangeline i've got the fan on! Up in Scotland and it's about 21 just now - no super heat like down south thankfully. How are you keeping?

Nickname I'm getting them too although today has been fine so far, I had a 12 lead ECG at my 14wk appt and then again last Wednesday at triage - they've just diagnosed sinus tachycardia. Give the mw's a wee call if you're worried, they'll maybe get up for an ECG just to make sure it's normal (although fast).

Hope everyones keeping well! I've got a doctors appt at 3:50 today about my shoulder/back pain. Since going to triage last Wednesday i've been waking up every day with numb or pins & needles in my hands. Ugh!! Will see if I can be signed off till the end of this month.

I agree though Nickname hurry up October!!!

Nickname1980 · 19/07/2016 10:33

Ooh thanks, April! My next appointment isn't until mid-Aug, maybe I'll just ring my midwife anyway! This pregnancy is too exhausting!

April241 · 19/07/2016 10:42

Yeah give them a call :) they won't mind and it'll put your mind at rest. Your heart is working overtime with all the extra fluid etc and this heat is not helping at all but nice to get it checked out it needed. It's extremely exhausting isn't it! I feel like I was ok at 24 weeks, then 24+3 (last Monday) I just hit a brick wall! Literally getting off the couch is exhausting - i'm amazed at the women who just sail through - much envy!

EvangelineP · 19/07/2016 11:06

My plan is to wash the dog to keep him cool, though he won't appreciate it! And then turn the hose on myself because I will appreciate it!

ChatterNatterer · 19/07/2016 16:29

Can I rejoin please?

Due on the 8th October - currently 28 + 3 and suddenly I feel extremely huge, hot and feet and hands really starting to swell since last week! Had to take off my wedding and engagement ring as they were getting a bit tight sob

Have wfh yesterday and today as I couldn't face the train and the walk to a hot office as the air con wasn't working! Don't know what I would do if I had to don office attire and go into work!!!

Kariana · 19/07/2016 17:40

Chatter I'm so glad you mentioned your rings, reminded me to check my own and just managed to prise it off! I've transferred it to my little finger but it feels tight there too.

Nickname that heart thing is horrible isn't it. My heart has been skipping beats since about week 14 and it feels awful. Usually happens at night when I'm trying to sleep so I've had to take a couple of day off work when it's been at its worst as I end up too exhausted to function.

Kariana · 19/07/2016 17:42

Oh by the way - only one ring because I don't wear my engagement ring, just my wedding one. My finger are so stumpy two rings looks daft and they don't match anyway!

April241 · 19/07/2016 18:21

Went to my docs this afternoon and have a sickline until August 2nd and told to phone and extend it if needed. This heat is terrible!!! 😭.

Hope you're all keeping cool!

Afreshstartplease · 19/07/2016 18:31

Hi all

Cold is shifting now thank god although I did just blow my nose and blow out pure blood (TMI at teatime I know)

26+6 today

Hating the heat, but the forecast looks better for tomorrow thank god

ChatterNatterer · 19/07/2016 19:31

Kariana - horrible taking them off - feels weird as I fiddle with them all the time! I feel like since 27 weeks I have blown up like a balloon!! 11 weeks to go from Saturday though! Phew!

Blueskygirl30 · 19/07/2016 21:08

Eugh, this heat is just horrible! Im never very good with heat anyway but really struggling today!

I have also just found out I've got gestational diabetes, so I feel like a but if a failure as a Mum already. I'm guessing it's probably my own fault from being a but fat and eating far too much in the way of sweet junk food. I'm now worried about awful things happening to my baby and it all being my fault, including fearing that he will be still born. Also, I just sneezed and peed myself a little as it caught me unawares and didn't have time to control my pelvic floor muscle.

Sorry, total self indulgent post there. I hope everyone has found a way to cool down!

positivity123 · 19/07/2016 21:25

Hi all. I have developed the world's most swollen ankles in this heat! They look ginormous. I've also noticed that I've started to get leaky boobs so I look and feel great Grin
bluesky sorry to hear about the GD. I think I've seen a thread on the pregnancy board about it so you can get support.
We bought an Uppababy Cruz on Gumtree last week and saved nearly £200 so feeling good about that. Just got back from hols so the baby preparation really starts now. 12 weeks to go tomorrow

Kariana · 19/07/2016 21:56

Blue if that's the first time you've sneezed and peed yourself a bit you're doing far better than me! I've been doing it on and off for the last ten weeks. Some days I'm more in control than others and I keep telling myself it's because of the baby's position to make myself feel better about my obviously crap pelvic floor. I had hay fever at one point too which was interesting. Worst part is I'm not that old and this is baby number one. Is there any hope?! Confused

Also I've put on 3 pounds in a week. I'd already put on too much. I was naturally very slim to start with and I'm not enjoying worrying about my weight at all, I'm mostly trying not to think about it which is stupid because I should probably exercise more. I'm going to have a huge baby and be huge myself at this rate.

April241 · 20/07/2016 11:19

blue aww that's sucks about the gd :( however you're not a failure, these things happen sometimes just for no reason - don't worry just take care :).

I've peed myself once so far, interesting!

Had my 26 week scan today (25+5) and both babies are doing really well, both about 1lb 9oz so far and they've moved. Right twin is now classed as number 1 and is head down, left side twin (now 2) is transverse with head under my ribs. Explains all the left sided upper back pain! Also right baby appears to be kicking left baby in the face which isn't very nice...clearly a sign of things to come!!

We had some thunderstorms during the night and this morning around 9 but hasn't cleared the air at all - so stuffy and horrid!! Slept last night with no duvet for most of the night. Currently watching some baby seagulls on the roof opposite, one has been peering over the edge for quite some time - I think they're gonna jump!

AngharadTheSplendid · 20/07/2016 16:39

Blue I also have GD but was fully expecting it as I also had it in my last pregnancy. Please don't worry, it is nothing to do with anything you have done. I am not overweight with no risk factors (in fact I would never even have been tested for it if I was in the uk), and I still have it. I also asked my diabetic counsellor last time if I ate absolutely perfectly from the day of conception next time would I still get it? And she said there was a 70% chance I would. Pregnancy just puts a strain on each of us in different ways. I had an A1C test 6 months after I had my first baby and my blood sugars were perfect, my body just doesn't like pregnancy! So please don't feel guilty!

AngharadTheSplendid · 20/07/2016 16:42

Also YES to the sneezing and peeing! Pregnancy is so glamorous.

ChatterNatterer · 20/07/2016 17:56

Really sorry to hear about GD Blue - the gtt test itself is pants too ;(

Exciting scan April - my 28 week scan also had my baby in a breech position - not felt any rib discomfort yet though thankfully!

Today's promised thunder storms and much cooler weather haven't appeared! It's been about 5-6 degrees cooler though so more bearable if still super hot! Been having random heart flutter/palpitations today on occasion - will mention to midwife tomorrow at my now weekly blood pressure checking appointment.

Blueskygirl30 · 20/07/2016 18:38

Thank you April I'll try not to feel bad. Poor little twin being kicked in the face, although I hear a lot of twins do that in the womb. Im sure left twin will get their own back in year to come though!

Angharad thank you, that's made me feel so much better. I'm quite happy so far this week as I seem to be able to eat carbs, even if they have to be whole wheat. Really hoping everything turns out ok for both you and I and our babies and that it goes away after the birth!

Phew, glad I'm not the only one with the sneezing and peeing!

We've had some thunderstorms today but I could still do with the temperature dropping a bit more, low 20s would be fine!

Afreshstartplease · 20/07/2016 18:47

I think I was sneeze peeing at about 8 weeks Sad

27 weeks today!

Did we establish when third trimester starts?

OP posts:
AngharadTheSplendid · 20/07/2016 19:04

Thanks Blue, I remember it was such a shock being diagnosed the first time and you read scary things - I was sure my baby was going to be massive and get stuck... And she came out 5lbs 11! All was fine. Great that you can eat some carbs and stay within your targets, its brilliant if you can control it just with diet and exercise and don't need medication (though of course if you do it's no biggie). The bonus is that you'll get an extra scan too.

Fresh I think it's 28 weeks officially? Although it seems to be quite a grey area. Whatever, I think with 27 weeks under our belts we're well within our rights to say we're in our final trimester!

27+5.

Northernlight22 · 20/07/2016 20:39

Sorry to hear about the GD ladies, definitely nothing you've done - just one of those pregnancy things :(

28 weeks today and looking forward to growth scan tomorrow although slightly terrified they'll tell me he's huge as I'm out of the normal range on the chart from a measurement last week! They did reassure me that the scans are more accurate than just the tape measure though.

Consultant appt tomorrow too so all go!

Bluecarrot · 21/07/2016 14:28

Popping in again.. 28 ish weeks? Now. Maybe... I've lost count but I def look ready to pop though not really having any symptoms.
Huge weight gain in general. Dragging the slimming world books out now our holiday is over! I'm addicted to apples atm which is prob my only saving grace as I'm constantly hungry.

I'll be tested for GD the week after next and think I prob had it last pregnancy too. Will head over to the support thread for a nosey.

Newmum90 · 21/07/2016 15:34

Just checking in... familiar story here with the heat!

Had my 28 week scan today, all within normal range which i found surprising as i thought i was a whale.

We have also found an amazing new house to live in. Unfortunately this involves moving at around 34 weeks pregnant. I think i must be mad to attempt this....

Best wishes to all!

Northernlight22 · 21/07/2016 17:56

28 week scan all ok here too - baby plotting pretty much dead on the middle line so that's good as I keep getting people telling me he'll be big!
