Hello all,

Have just been reading back through all of the posts from the last couple of days. No BH here either but this is my first baba.

Could i also have the link the fb group please?

My nesting instinct has well and truely kicked in. Ive been especially hormonal in the last week but strangely its been in a lovey dovey happy way for a change! After months of being grumpy about pregnancy i have hit a nice stage of feeling very grateful. OH is very confused as to where his tetchy preggo partner has gone Blush

My nesting instincr has gone bonkers and ive spent the last few days in my house cleaning everything, painting the walls shelves and skirtings! Yesterday i went to get keys cut and found myself walking to b&q (a good 40 min walk!) to buy sanding equipment and paint for the nursery furniture. Im paying the price today as my hips are agony!

In other news i have another growth / check up scan at hospital tomorrow. At my weekly PROMS related check up on friday the midwife mentioned it was protocol to induce at 34 weeks of there isnt enough fluid. Fingers crossed baba still has plenty of protection as id like to keep him in there as long as possible!

MeDownSouth · 23/08/2016 12:58

Wow newmum i got tired being driven too b&q! We've abandoned the living room and are concentrating on clearing baby's room just in case.
Not sure I've ad any BH either, I don't think so. I have had a naughty little monkey beating the snot out of me from the inside though.
Had my WC jab this morning. I have a phobia of needles and usually faint so I was surprised it was over in seconds. Most of the 5mins we were in there was the nurse saying how small my bump was! Which was weird cause everyone's telling me it's big! Felt a bit wobbly when we got home but think that was from the anxiety about it all. Still it was a good excuse to sit on the sofa all morning! As you're putting me to shame I'm going to have to go and do some houseowrk/box sorting now :)
Oh and if you haven't already seen Babies R Us, Morrisons, Argos and Boots have all got baby events on! I'm starting to feel we haven't got enough but don't know what we've forgotten....

Afreshstartplease · 23/08/2016 13:01

I think all I need to buy is some formula! And I want a swing

I have the MW this afternoon for 34wk appointment was hoping she would say he was in position but after it felt like he was trying to burrow out of my left hip last night in bed I have no clue where he is or what way up!!

I think we are pretty sorted now we have a growing mountain of nappies and wipes, furniture is built, some washing still to do for the piles of clothes I have bought/inherited, car seat, moses and pushchair all in garage ready for use. Am holding off buying play mat and a bouncy chair in hope some of the Grandparents will offer to buy them might even try to limp along without them until christmas it has been an expensive few months with moving house, pre baby weekends away and then getting DS bits for starting school. Will have a look at all the events though thanks for the flag.

Ive decided not to do a birth plan I am still swinging between a very active birth using my daisy birthing techniques in water to having an epidual asap.....I don't think I am going to be able to make a decision until I see how I feel on the day so going to wing it. I know I want skin to skin after and delayed cord clamping but other than that going to see how it goes.

April241 · 23/08/2016 15:07

Maybe Fresh, my 37 week due date would be October 7th, will need to look back through the register and see who's all due round then :) I can't wait till everyone starts going into labour, will be so exciting (albeit painful!!). Having never been in labour before I have absolutely no idea if I'll know when the early stages start Blush.

newmum wow that's a lot of walking! I went to the doctors yesterday then the pharmacy, both a 2/3 minute walk and struggled on the way back. Thought my back was actually going to just give up.

I've got a list of things to get and just added changing mat to it - are they a standard size?!

Oh figgy it was the daisy classes I was going too! I missed a few though with pelvic pain and missed the class on the 'out' breath. Read the email the instructor sent me but have no idea how to breath OUT MY BUM Grin must YouTube!

Afreshstartplease · 23/08/2016 16:11

Back to measuring above 95th percentile again so big but at least consistent measurements

Changing mats are generally a standard size yes unless they're the fold up type

Figgygal · 23/08/2016 16:31

I got a change mat last week in morrisons baby even but it's nowhere near big enough for our change table I didn't even think to measure although last time we had a change station this time we have a chest of drawers with a removable changer on top so wonder if that makes them wider?

Afreshstartplease · 23/08/2016 17:03

My cot top changer takes a standard size changing mat

Feeling a lot of bit movements tonight, I swear left baby is flipping between breech and head down. If they've remained head down they've got some fairly strong punches!

Just had another big flip feeling that was sore, they're strong! I have an anterior placenta on my right and those kicks are super strong, would hate to feel how strong they actually are if the placenta is cushioning some of them.

EnoughAlready999 · 24/08/2016 11:25

Fresh any chance of a bump pic? I'm intrigued as you say you are small and baby is big. Bet you stick right out!

I lived in a flat when I had DD, in a house this time and wondering if I should get 2 change mats - one for downstairs and one for up? Probably just end up doing it on the lounge floor most of the time I imagine. No nursery here as only a 2 bed :-(

ChatterNatterer · 24/08/2016 12:27

We got two change mats after a friend said, have one under the sofa to pull out when needed and then another upstairs - no experience of if this will actually be the case yet!

Scan tomorrow, 35 weeks on Saturday! Argh, where did the time go?

Northernlight22 · 24/08/2016 13:03

I've got 2, one for upstairs and one for downstairs

Figgygal · 24/08/2016 13:28

We were very rigid with DS that all nappy changes were done in his room on his change table....I seriously suspect that rule will be relaxed with DC2.

I am going to have to get my measuring tape out and get another change mat I was looking at how small the one I have on the change table is and cant bare it.

Northernlight22 · 24/08/2016 14:43

That's partly why we have 2 figgy - our first one was too small for the changing table

HobnobDunker · 24/08/2016 15:56

I've also got 2 changing mats (upstairs/downstairs), can't remember who told me to but thought it'd be handy.

Chatter I thought we have the same due date (8th) and I swear I'm 34 weeks on Saturday?! Have I got mixed up or have I lost a week?

ChatterNatterer · 24/08/2016 16:55

Oooops!! Blame the typo on my swollen fat fingers!! Lol!! 34! Hehe!

Baby has been super active today but I still have a bulge above my belly button to my left which I think is her head so reckon she's still breech!

Will see what the sonographer says tomorrow :) Also hoping she's caught up on her growth chart too - it's bloody worrying this pregnancy lark!

HobnobDunker · 24/08/2016 17:41

That's hilarious Chatter, part of me was panicking but then part of me was thinking "the sooner the better"! Good luck with the scan tomorrow Smile

April241 · 24/08/2016 19:45

Hope you have a good chat Chatter and baby has turned!

I think we'll keep the changing mat on top of the table, will be good if I'm sectioned and we're in a flat anyway so won't be too much of a faff to go into the room for nappy changes. Can always just sling the mat in the living room though if it gets tedious! My friend gave me a big plastic box with a handle, like an ice box with wee compartments, and had some baby bits in it. Not sure whether to use it as a wee changing station thing for the living room or fill it with essentials and keep it in the boot of the car, be handy for those days when I forget something!

April241 · 24/08/2016 19:51

Good chat?! SCAN!

Afreshstartplease · 24/08/2016 20:10

A bump pic. Not fantastic but trying not to get anything in it which might make me identifiable lol!

Afreshstartplease · 24/08/2016 20:15

We have two changing mats one up and one down. Only so many times will you get away with changing baby on your bed before they shit on it ....

Aww such a lovely bump, mines all stretchmarks along the bottom now.
