I've got a retest at 36 weeks so 5 weeks time. Good excuse to eat steak though, as I really don't want to take extra supplements. Must just remember to take pregnacare every day as I've been a bit rubbish recently

EnglebertSlaptyback · 11/08/2016 14:12

Hello everyone! I'm joining the party a little late! I'm due early October, so 32 weeks today. I hope everyone is managing okay and I'm definitely not dreading the heatwave coming to the UK next week...

LisaTheSimpson · 11/08/2016 18:01

WHAT?? There's going to be a heatwave? I an NOT prepared for this.

I might go and buy a portable fan or something...

Northernlight22 · 11/08/2016 18:13

Eugh .... Heatwave! Can't think of anything worse!

obsessedlex · 11/08/2016 19:19

I'm just back from being monitored at the hospital. Think I pulled a muscle in my tum on Tuesday night - was agony, then felt less movements and was in pain yesterday. Sleep badly last night and then today driving home from camping started to get quite a few crampy tightenings anyway I rang the midwife who said to ring triage so I did and they said to get home and lie down for a hour to see if it eased and if I felt normal moments again and if not then to ring then. Didn't really feel any improvement so I went in. They strapped me up for monitoring and all appears ok. Normal heartrate and they can't see tightenings on the machine so I was discharged with the instruction to go back if it gets worse. I'm still in quite a bit of pain and still getting crampy tightenings low down. All rather strange. I'm 31+2 today.
Not looking forward to this heatwave either - I can't even use my hairdryer now as I end up in a muck sweat!! Nice!!

Afreshstartplease · 11/08/2016 20:54

Glad your OK obsessed

Last few nights I so cannot get comfy in bed it's awful. My hips are agony. My pubic bone is agony. I can't lie on my back. I keep leaning on my bump and baby keeps wedging himself in my ribs

Don't remember this being so bad in previous pregnancies

Have felt sick again tonight but luckily not been sick

Two weeks left in work
Two days each week
Then I'm going to live on the sofa until this baby appears

Lex glad you're home :)

Fresh you can do these 2 weeks Flowers I have 4 weeks left, counting the days!

Had a scan and consultant appointment yesterday. BP higher (well yes, I am back at work!) but not in a zone to need medication/anything more than weekly monitoring. Spoke to much nicer and communicative consultant too which put my mind at rest. Although, they want to see me in 2 weeks for another growth scan as Baby is measuring a bit smaller than forecast compared to previous scans - but still in the healthy range. Not sure how I feel about it - or what I can do apart from hope she's caught up at next scan - they still estimate her weight to be 3.5lbs which is healthy for 32 weeks and she's still in the middle of all her charts for measurement?

Dropping DH to airport today for a weekend away so I have planned to do naff all bar elevate my swollen feet and sleep!

Afreshstartplease · 12/08/2016 07:37

Sick again this morning Sad and full of a cold
Another crap night sleep

BUT the nurture app tells me I have 68 days until my due date!

OP posts:
Northernlight22 · 12/08/2016 08:15

Fresh - sorry you are feeling sick again. 68 days doesn't seem long!

Obsessed - pleased the monitoring came back ok. I had real pains last week but they seemed to go after a few days. Just keep an eye on it!

Kariana · 12/08/2016 08:44

Obsessed that sounds scary but at least everything was ok. I hurt a muscle in my stomach and felt fewer kicks afterwards but I think whatever I'd done to hurt the muscle had just made the baby retreat to the back. All seems fine now thankfully.

Fresh you poor thing, you sounds like you're having an awful time Flowers

Chatter I wouldn't worry too much, even a scan is notoriously bad at getting the baby's weight right. I know someone who was told to expect a 9 and a half pound baby but it ended up a whole pound smaller. I'm guessing they either overestimated last time or underestimated this time so I'm sure everything will be fine.

Afreshstartplease · 12/08/2016 08:53

I think they say growth scans can be 20% out either way
I should be finding out this week if I'm getting one, kind of hope I do as have never had one so late in a pregnancy and would love another peek at baby

HobnobDunker · 12/08/2016 09:04

Picked up some ranitidine for heartburn this morning as the gaviscon isn't cutting it and I was having way over the recommended dose Blush Hopefully that'll help.

Also having an exercise ball delivered to work so I can alternate that for my office chair and get this baby's head down! Was reading past threads about transverse lies and can identify with the feeling that an alien is about to burst from my stomach.....but as it's my first I thought this is what pregnancy felt like?!

Northernlight22 · 12/08/2016 09:04

Growth scans definitely can be out - I've got my second next week so will see how it's looking as last time I was pretty much bang on the 50th centile line whereas my bump measurements are above the top line 😳

April241 · 12/08/2016 09:05

northern I'm on iron 3 times a day now, 600mg, joy! Urgh 😔 Fingers crossed you don't need it!

obsessed glad you're okay, must have been scary.

fresh yey to 68 days!

Woke up this morning with awful heartburn so had some antacids for breakfast, getting all the lovely side effects from the iron now although no increased energy, boo! 29 weeks today, yey! Only one more week in the 20's and only 56 days to go.

Has anyone else been getting period cramps? I'm getting them this morning again >

Afreshstartplease · 12/08/2016 09:09

Northern my first bump measurement was above the 95th percentile

My last baby was born on the 95th percentile and the one before that on the 91st

northern my 28w bloods showed low iron too but was told normal for it to dip in T3 and to eat more red meat and dark green veg and to try Floradix.

obsessed glad all ok with bub and you got some reassurance.

fresh lucky you on 2 weeks to ML!!! I still have 7 weeks to go Confused

Kariana · 12/08/2016 10:32

April I've had period cramps! Glad it's not just me, I was a little worried.

Hobnob I bought a ball a few days ago too. Bounced on it one evening and the baby definitely went somewhere, not sure it was the right place though and the next day kept panicking that I couldn't feel as many kicks. He's moved back up again now so I'm hoping the explanation is that he's small and still has a lot of room. He certainly seems to get around in there plus I keep thinking 10 weeks is an awful long time to spend standing on your head and feeling sorry for him. I'll no doubt have a panic at 36 weeks or something! How is your bump measuring?

EnoughAlready999 · 12/08/2016 10:49

I've been worried at times because everything seems to be going a bit too smoothly! Sleeping fine, eating fine, no pain apart from last Saturday. Just tired. She's starting to kick me in the ribs, feels like she's transverse this morning. I think (hope) she'll be more laid-back than DD1!

Still not decided on names really. Pumpkin'll do for now!

HobnobDunker · 12/08/2016 11:30

Kariana I'm a bit rubbish and don't really understand the whole measurement thing and haven't had it explained to me; I've only been measured by a student midwife so far. At my 4D scan a week ago I was told baby was a little over 4lbs, head and tummy measuring about right and leg slightly over. That's good that you feel there is plenty of room, I'm the other way as she definitely kicks and stretches but her head has consistently been in the same place for weeks now.

ShakespeareanQuotations · 12/08/2016 12:50

Just got back from a midwife appointment, my 28 week appointment @ 29+3weeks, and baby is transverse. I thought so as have felt a large lump (head) on one side and what feels like feet on the other.
Enough I also feel as if everything is going too well. I have felt no discomfort, I'm sleeping well and am still able to go about my normal routine. So different from my last pregnancy.

ChatterNatterer · 12/08/2016 12:57

Thanks ladies for the reassurance :) I am hoping all is well and like you say it's just their measurements that are out or she had a growth spurt before and is levelling off now?

I am still breech at 31 plus 5 yesterday - please god she will turn! I don't want a c-section if I can help it :( The thought of it really freaks me out!

I knew my silly midwife was wrong when she tried to convince me last week that she had turned - I was like then what is this painful mass to the right of my belly button that hasn't moved for weeks? (It's obvs the head!) Not glad I was right and she was wrong!

Have borrowed an exercise ball from a friend and will try and bounce on it more than the once a week at present!

I have looked at the spinning babies site and the exercise that looks best isn't recommended for those with high BP! Gah! LOL!

Also looking for some shorts online for next week's anticipated heat wave - my 'go to' mat leave shop New Look is out of stock online! And I only have leggings for home which are quite thick! Pyjamas it is then! LOL!

April241 · 12/08/2016 13:49

chatter baby still has plenty of time to turn so fingers crossed they do! What freaks you out about a possible section? I've seen a few so could maybe help with any questions :)

ChatterNatterer · 12/08/2016 14:22

Thanks April

I think as I have never had surgery I am concerned about recovery time and pain management - and possibly not being able to do much with baby for weeks afterwards.

I also think the procedure itself seems scary to me - feeling a bit helpless perhaps and how far across do they cut, chances of me being able to carry a baby again, infection and 'feeling' the procedure even if it's not painful?

Sorry, brain dumped all my worries there Blush

Northernlight22 · 12/08/2016 15:09

I've never had surgery either so I'm a bit nervous about needing a section too but just putting it out of my mind for now as I'm also nervous about trying to get this baby out the "natural" way!

Off to a steakhouse tonight for my birthday so will be getting an iron fix - although won't be able to indulge in a medium rare like normal!

Baby is head down but midwife said not to worry about position yet as things can change so I'm just waiting to see how things go. Hopefully the exercises you're going chatter will help!

Afreshstartplease · 12/08/2016 15:10

OMG I would literally kill for a steak
