Oh no blueberry hope you feel better soon Cake

HobnobDunker · 09/08/2016 13:04

I know 4D scans aren't for everyone but I have been quite anxious about this whole pregnancy and I wanted to see that she seemed happy enough in there and it really helped to put my mind at rest. It was for that reason rather than to see what she looks like as 20 weeks to 40 weeks seemed like such a long time without a glimpse of life in-utero.

April sounds like you have a little gymnast in there Smile Hope the tablets kick in soon and you feel better, I had a lot of dizziness early on and it wasn't pleasant.

Blueberry hope you feel better soon, definitely go and get it checked out I'm sure they won't think you're wasting their time Flowers

April241 · 09/08/2016 13:17

blueberry hope you feel better soon :)

hobnob definitely! I'm sure they kick each other in these regularly, hope it isn't a sign of things to come haha. The dizziness is awful eh. :(. 20-40 weeks is such a long time if you don't get another scan, glad you enjoyed yours 4d one!

LillianFullStop · 09/08/2016 13:30

glad LO is staying out knit but you must be exhausted!!

april my iron levels dipped on my 28w bloods too and I was recommended Floradix liquid iron supplement as its more natural and and gentler than the tablets. Been having it the last few days and I haven't noticed any side effects.

29+2 today and second trimester glory days are definitely over. I'm sleeping very well - too well I think as I wake up feeling lethargic and tired like I've slept all day when I haven't. So tired and awkward now and DH has had to give me a hand getting myself out of awkward positions. On the other hand - movements have ramped up and I can feel her a lot now even with an anterior placenta.

Northernlight22 · 09/08/2016 14:01

Hobnob - totally agree that it's a long time between 20 and 40! I'd have probably paid a private scan if I wasn't getting growth scans.

April241 · 09/08/2016 15:24

Lillian I picked up my iron tablets earlier as the midwife had already called on Friday and put in the prescription apparently, handy! Will give them a week or so and if I'm getting a lot of side effects I'm going to try the liquid version instead. Going to up the iron rich food as well, don't want a super low Hb post section ><

Having a bit of a rotten day today. Had arranged for a friend to come over/go for a late lunch today but she cancelled this morning and it's just annoying me now. She's cancelled on me a LOT in the last few months, it's usually me who texts to sort out dates and she's either busy, says she'll get back to me and doesn't or plans something then cancels on the day - usually last minute.

I don't know why it's getting to me because normally I'm not arsed with people who can't be bothered but I think it's because I know when babies arrive I'm not gonna have time to see everyone all the time. Blah. Hate these rotten days! Hopefully tomorrow will be better.

SchnitzelvonKrummsverylowtum · 09/08/2016 15:34

Sorry to hear so many of you are feeling rubbish.

I had my anti-d injection this afternoon, which wasn't very pleasant. My iron is apparently slightly low, but not low enough for them to prescribe anything, so I just need to up iron rich food and go back to my midwife if i start to feel dizzy or faint or anything. On a more positive note, the GTT came back normal, which is a relief.

Baby is oblique at the moment, and some of the movements are really uncomfortable!

Kariana · 09/08/2016 18:36

Hobnob I know what you mean about the gap. I'm amazed I've gone this long without caving and having a private scan. It's possibly because I had a private scan very early on and had such an awful experience that I demanded, and got, all of my money back! I know it wouldn't be like that if I went again somewhere else but I think it really put me off!

I've been feeling rubbish today. Horrible heartburn and also went to the shops earlier and bump got so painful underneath that I could hardly walk. It's still bad now even though I got so tired I had a two hour nap! Could sleep all evening tbh, still in agony when I stand up and dreading making dinner but know I need to as I desperately need to eat more vegetables. Feeling very unhealthy at the moment Sad

Afreshstartplease · 10/08/2016 07:32

30 weeks today!

Managed to drag myself through a day at work yesterday but then once I got home I threw up everything I ate all day Sad

Off today, spd is sore. But I don't feel sick thankfully

Hope you had a good night knit

Kariana · 10/08/2016 08:10

Sounds awful Fresh Sad Does the sickness usually come back for you at this point or is this the first pregnancy where it's happened?

Afreshstartplease · 10/08/2016 09:00

As far as I can remember the first time at this stage

With DC 2 I was sick for most of second trimester between 2-5am daily but do think it calmed down after that

Yesterday I think I went to bed having eaten (and kept down) a pear and some crisps

ChatterNatterer · 10/08/2016 09:02

fresh Flowers

I have had a crap night's sleep - woken up twice with raging cramp in my right leg and couldn't really get back to sleep - sorely tempted to sneak off home after lunch and nap as I can't keep my eyes open

Afreshstartplease · 10/08/2016 09:11

Chatter I would if I were you! Flowers

Should dd decide to nap later I will 100% join her

LisaTheSimpson · 10/08/2016 09:20

Oh Fresh, that sounds horrible, you poor thing. Hope today is better x

April241 · 10/08/2016 11:13

fresh yay on the 30 weeks! Rotten about the vomiting :( hope you feel better soon.

HobnobDunker · 10/08/2016 12:08

Chatter I also had a crap night's sleep (first one in months so can't really complain), my bump was aching for some reason and I just couldn't get comfy. Definitely go and nap later if you can!

Kariana have you considered a bump band? I've no experience of them but have heard they help aches and pains when walking and standing etc, might be worth a go.

Fresh hope the sickness gets better, sounds awful.

MeDownSouth · 10/08/2016 13:30

Hello all! Sorry, I've not been around but things have been a bit hectic. Will catch up on all I've missed soon.
We'er moved into our house and are currently redecorating every room. Bedroom, bathroom and dining room are finished but kitchen is on hold as we have to replace part of the ceiling and nearly ready to do front room. Then we can empty the boxes from baby's room and do that. And to top it off it's now our busy season at work. On the plus side I've so much holiday to use before I go off I'm now down to 3 days a week! Yay!
Hope everyone's ok and will catch up soon :) x

Afreshstartplease · 10/08/2016 14:37

Thanks all for the well wishes , feeling much better today. Think sitting about doing nothing helps Blush

Have had quite a lot of Braxton Hicks today after having hardly any so far this pregnancy

clank2 · 11/08/2016 01:55

Insomnia. Driving. Me. Crazy!

Northernlight22 · 11/08/2016 07:32

Clank - I don't have a problem with insomnia at all - luckily I've been sleeping quite well (once I eventually get comfy!)

Fresh - I had sickness again last night for the first time in ages (31 weeks). Wasn't impressed to throw up my dinner!

Midwife for me today, growth scan again next week, consultant week after and then I've got the health visitor coming for an ante natal home visit (not sure why!) - appointments every week now for the next 5 weeks or so!

Northernlight22 · 11/08/2016 11:36

Aargh my bloods have come back borderline on iron levels .... Means I need to up my iron intake and have a retest on my bloods in a few weeks to see if levels have improved.

Thought everything was going too smoothly!

octoberbundle · 11/08/2016 11:52

Does anyone know, is everyone tested for diabetes or just if you're higher risk? I'm 30weeks and midwife hasn't mentioned it yet, not sure if I need to prepare myself for it! X

Northernlight22 · 11/08/2016 13:18

My test was because my bmi was high. There are certain groups who will be tested, think it's if you have a family history of diabetes, if you had GD last pregnancy, if you've had a big baby previously.

Tacoyaki · 11/08/2016 13:23

Hi Octoberbundle. My Midwife told me that there is a blood test that everyone does. If that comes back high risk or if you have other risk factors then the full glucose tolerance test is done. She hadn't mentioned it to me either till I asked. That's the policy in my region of Scotland anyway but it might vary...

SchnitzelvonKrummsverylowtum · 11/08/2016 13:52

Northern I also have low iron, but my midwife told me that I should up my iron intake, but that I would only need further blood tests if I started feeling dizzy or lightheaded. I might get an iron supplement but take a really low dose.
