Fellow pelvic pain suffers - have any of you had it in a previous pregnancy and does it go away after delivery??

I didn't have any pain at all yesterday during the day as we had a really chilled it day, but come nighttime I was agony again trying to get comfortable in bed.

I don't know how I'll cope if I have this pain forever! :(

knit glad your little one is staying snug, fresh rotten you're having a bad day :(. I'm not 100% sure on the KIT days but I know my manager recommended using them up in the few months before going back to work so I'd assume they can be used in the unpaid section? strokes chin is there anyway you could have your maternity pay split equally over the year or whatever you're taking off?

April241 · 08/08/2016 09:42

Haha oops!! Bold fail!!!

Kariana · 08/08/2016 09:46

Flowers for all those with the pelvic pains and gd. April My friend had it and it went away very quickly after the birth, but I don't know if it's the same for everyone. I hope so!

Afreshstartplease · 08/08/2016 09:53

I've had it in my last two pregnancies

Worse each time it seems

Both times felt much better straight Frer delivery! After DC3 it did bother me at times even up until getting pregnant this time TBH, but only really when doing things that aggravate it. E.g. pushing heavy two year old up hill in a pram

I think my pelvis has well and truly had it TBH.

I want to put in a request for less days at work when I return and possibly term time only too. Paying for childcare for for DC during holidays would not be worth it at all financially.

So I don't know if it's better to say I'm taking 12 months, happy to work ten KIT days during unpaid section. That plus holidays already occurred could see me until dd starts school.

Or I I go back briefly June and July on three days a week, have holidays off as I will have requested term time only then book first wk of Sept as holiday to sort dd at school.

If I go back June on less days then my holiday entitlement will be a few days less for the year than if I don't go back until Sept.

Can't work out which is best

I am def only doing KIT days when I am on unpaid leave as it's the last few months before I go back so good timing for handover etc? Smile

HobnobDunker · 08/08/2016 12:29

Glad that baby is staying put Knit

Snow I've suffered from constant heartburn for a while now and get Gaviscon on prescription from the GP. I get through at least a bottle a week so it was getting quite expensive before I realised I could get it from GP. It doesn't stop it completely but helps massively. You can also try using additional pillows in bed to ease the reflux although this doesn't make a difference to me- gaviscon all the way!

I had a 4D scan yesterday which was lovely but I realised that baby is transverse at 31 weeks. The sonographer didn't mention it but I've googled and it seems that it's rare in a first pregnancy. Now I think of it my right side often feels full and tight and that's where baby's head is. Have put a birthing ball on my list to try to get her to turn!

ChatterNatterer · 08/08/2016 12:32

Aw, we're not having a 4D scan and also 31 weeks now Shock How lovely! Were the pics clear?

I was breech at my 28 plus 5 scan so interested to see how I am at my 31 plus 5 scan - I hope she's turned, midwife seems to think she had last week but i think the same bits of my stomach are still bumpy from where her head is! We shall see!!

snow I can't stand the taste of gaviscon liquid so have the gaviscon suckable chews - they help for me, like hobnob it's not a complete cure but def a marked difference!

I don't know what it is about 4D scans that make me go all squiffy (not that your LO isn't lovely Hobnob) they just look so weird!!! Funnily enough we not planning on having one.

I am not doing any KIT days until unpaid either my work offers a 2 day preparing to return to work workshop which I will look to do as they can be done as KIt days without actually having to do any work Smile.

Me and baby still here, baby still staying put. The contractions got pretty bad last night but eventually died off after a bath at about midnight, and I managed a night of proper sleep. I was even brought a nice breakfast on a tray this morning, I think the midwife felt sorry for me.

The tightenings seem to be starting up again now, but I'm getting used to the pattern of them now and after 4 days of this it all seems a bit less scary.

Feeling sorry for all of you with spd- mine was awful from about 18-24 weeks but baby moved and it eased a lot. I also found sleeping with my pelvis surrounded by pillow really helped- 2 between knees, one under bump, and a cushion wedged into the small of my back. Hot but it kept my hips from being on fire by the morning.

ChatterNatterer · 08/08/2016 14:20

Wow hobnob they're so clear! You can really make out features!!

knit glad little one is staying put - this must be so exhausting for you ;(

funkky · 08/08/2016 15:31

tea girl was getting ice cream for ds1 and Ice cream van lady said I was definitely having a boy, we are not telling anyone sex so just said we didn't know plus I didn't have the heart to tell her she was wrong. She was so adamant as she had 3 boys and I definitely had a boy bump and I must come find her when my baby boy arrives for a free ice creamSmile

Anyone else stupidly tired, I am so sure this is beyond being pregnant as I literarily can't stand - feel faint/ dizzy. I stopped work early before I was 12 weeks cause I had same issue with first pregnancy and I just can't function in any way when pregnant. It's not diabetes or low iron or PE based on the regular checks and I am worried it's just something that they miss. Some days, I'm crawling on the floor because I can't stand up, I'm
Still being sick twice a week or so

Afreshstartplease · 08/08/2016 17:27

Good to hear baby is staying put knit have you had any more contractions?

I've had a lazy day and feel much better than I did this morning

Also managed to get booked in for physio although it's still two weeks away it's better than nothing

Afreshstartplease · 08/08/2016 17:29

funkky I often feel really drained but I think it's just down to me trying to do too much and the pregnancy. I've also had a few cases of morning sickness in the past couple of weeks.

I'm finding I'm eating less these days and have less urge to eat at all. Anyone else?

OP posts:
HobnobDunker · 08/08/2016 21:02

fresh I also don't seem to have the appetite I used to. Partly due to heartburn putting me off eating but I also find that I don't feel hungry like I used to. In fact I often find myself looking at the time and thinking I'd better eat something. This has been quite a recent thing though and I've certainly put on enough weight overall!

Afreshstartplease · 09/08/2016 06:20

Yes that's exactly what I'm like with noticing the time and being like I should eat. But things just don't appeal to me much! And I love food!

fresh I had another run of contractions last night, but they settled a little after some codeine and a shower and I managed to sleep, although they carried on rumbling away and woke me up a few times. I ache all over after 4 evenings of this, and was woken up this morning by the baby next door (who was born last night and is gorgeous) which made me cry. All the uncertainty is making me a little crazy.

Kariana · 09/08/2016 08:09

Knit the uncertainty must be very draining, but at least baby is benefiting from everyday it stays inside. I hope things calm down for you.

Hobnob the statistic I saw is 20% are breech at this stage but only 3% are at the end so I wouldn't worry yet. I'm 30 weeks today and the head is definitely still around my belly button as I can see and feel it there all the time. I'm hoping he's small anyway so this is a sign he still has lots of room to move. I'm sure he'll leave getting ready till the last minute, just like his mum Grin

Northernlight22 · 09/08/2016 09:15

Hope you are doing ok Knit, sounds like a tough time

HobnobDunker · 09/08/2016 09:35

fresh maybe now the babies are getting bigger we have less space in our stomach to fill!

Kariana ahh I see thanks for that, yes we still have plenty of time for them to shift. I'm normally very organised but still don't have a pram or a cot Blush so yes perhaps babies are taking after us!

Thinking of you Knit, must be very draining for you Flowers

EnoughAlready999 · 09/08/2016 10:25

I don't like 4D scans, no offence. I think it's like peeking at your Christmas presents early.

Northernlight22 · 09/08/2016 10:35

I'm not a 4d scan fan .... I've got growth scans though so I'm still getting a sneak peak of what the little man is up to!

April241 · 09/08/2016 11:46

Knit really glad to hear baby is staying put!

Hobnob one of mine goes between cephalic, breech and transverse. Was transverse a few weeks ago now breech but I swear I feel him/her flipping all the time!

Had a letter from mw this morning, Hb is 104 dropped from 134 and I had to call for iron tablets, blah - taking my letter down now to get the prescription. REALLY don't want the awful side effects, thinking of trying the iron sachets but the pharmacist recommended the tablets instead so I'd better just go for them. We were out a good while on Saturday and I had to hold onto my OH the whole day as I was really dizzy, that explains it all I suppose.

Bleurgh.

BlueberryMuffin85 · 09/08/2016 11:55

Oh knit you must be exhausted poor thing, at least baby is staying put for now.
I feel awful today just called up to book in to see my midwife this afternoon. Almost fainted on my train home from work last night and had the worst night with sweating and diahorrea which worries me as I've been so constipated. Just feel like i need a check for reassurance though I hate feeling like a bother and that I'm wasting their time.
Also cannot stop crying over everything and anything. Hormones Sad
