Now I've cooked and eaten dinner I feel better. I did have all these thoughts going through my head though about it being born now.

My dad has varicose veins and mum has thread (she had 4 children) so I'm buggered really. I bet the thread turn into varicose veins when I'm 50 or whatever. This is definitely my last pregnancy even though I'd like 2 closer together as current age gap will be 10.75 years.

Blueskygirl30 · 06/08/2016 21:03

Knit I hope everything remains ok and that you're home soon, even if it is on bed rest. That must be pretty scary, but at least it sounds like the drugs are doing their job. Cake

I've done most of my shopping online, I made a huge list of things I needed/wanted and trade a note of the cheapest I'd seen them for and then waited until I found them for less. A lot of sites offer a discount for the first time you use them so that worth looking out for.

I bought myself a changing bag this week, I went for the Storksak Lucinda as I found it for a decent price online and really wanted a leather bag that looked more like a handbag than a changing bag.

Newmum this is my first baby but I have bought the MaxiCosi Pebble to go with my iCandy Peach and have adapters to fit it to the pram. It seems to have a lot of good reviews.

Afreshstartplease · 06/08/2016 21:25

I am pretty sure this will be our last baby too, four is plenty! I don't think my body could cope again, I did say this last time. Poor dd has already asked if next time she can get a sister but there's no way I could even guarantee that is there so silly to try

OP posts:
EnoughAlready999 · 06/08/2016 23:28

Oh is DD the only girl Fresh? I sympathise as I have 3 older brothers. Would have loved a sister.

Afreshstartplease · 07/08/2016 07:32

She is poor sod!

I've just very nearly thrown up again Sad

Up and down for a wee none stop last night too, I might get a bed pan Sad

I may have spoken too soon yesterday- the contractions returned with a vengeance, 2-3 minutes apart and painful. After 8 hours of that, and them being off the charts on the monitor with no change to my cervix I was persuaded to have some diamorphine which was wonderful stuff and let me get some proper sleep.

They are back to niggling pains this morning, so nobody really knows what's going on. It's just a case of wait and see for now.

Afreshstartplease · 07/08/2016 11:08

Goodness me knit how worrying for you I do hope all is okay!

EnoughAlready999 · 07/08/2016 11:21

30 weeks today so into the last quarter thank God!

Need to get some kind of crib, change mat etc and things for myself and then I'll feel ready. Must get some white/neutral babygrows just in case they are wrong about it being a girl! I did dream I'd had her and she
was really big! And I was calling her Amelie which isn't a name I'd considered. My mum is Angela, SIL is Annemie and nieces Annabel and Anna so I think that would confuse everyone further (especially the oldies Grin )

Afreshstartplease · 07/08/2016 11:27

I am 29+4. The latest I've ever gone in a pregnancy is 39+4 so I'm now saying 10 weeks maximum and praying I'm not wrong!

I keep having a feeling I may have baby around 36/37 weeks but not sure why I feel like that, I've always been atleast 38.

I have two packs I think of gender neutral baby grows which I bought before we had our 16 week gender scan, but TBH I saw the boy bits pretty clearly so don't think there's any worries there!

Has anyone got their pram out and set up yet? I keep thinking about doing it. I've not even had it out for a proper look and I want to admire it lol, but I know I'll never get it back in the box!

I'm going to stock up on breast pads and maternity towels etc on my supermarket shop this week and then need to work out what's left to get

OP posts:
LillianFullStop · 07/08/2016 11:42

fingers crossed LO stays put a bit longer knit! at least they've given you some pain relief.

fresh pram is out of the box and set up but packed flat (BabyZen Yoyo). Snuzpod cot is up now! Still have a few things to get too and will have to give the clothes and sheets a wash!

Afreshstartplease · 07/08/2016 11:45

Oh yes I need to wash things too but I can't do that yet or I'll end up doing it twice lol

LillianFullStop · 07/08/2016 11:45

Congrats on 30w enough! Amelie is a nice name! We like the name Emily and toying with different variations/spellings of the name and Amelia, Emilie and Amelie are on the cards.

April241 · 07/08/2016 17:44

knit aw goodness your won't know whether you're coming or going, fingers crossed all is well.

fresh our pram is built up but folded down at the moment.

Getting a new carpet delivered a week on Tuesday, hopefully it's the right size this time!! Can't wait to get the nursery done, we have boxes and baby things everywhere you look. Driving me nuts!

28+2 now, feeling like a beached whale and wondering how much bigger I can possibly get. I put on 2.2lbs this week which is the most I've put on in any one week, I'm glad that all the nuts/yogurts etc seem to have worked. Had a better diet last week and this week I've written up a dinner menu so we're not skipping meals. Must have good weight babies!

Hope everyone is having a lovely Sunday.

Afreshstartplease · 07/08/2016 18:02

Any news knit?

OP posts:
Kariana · 07/08/2016 18:22

I hope everything is ok Knit and baby is staying put.

Enough I keep getting ridiculously upset over stupid things so please don't worry your emotions are harming the baby. Those pregnancy hormones have been messing with pregnant women for years Grin Yesterday I had a full on sobbing fit over the fact that stretch marks have appears under my belly where I couldn't see them developing at first. I'm devastated as I thought I was managing to avoid them! I know it's not as serious as an argument with dh but believe me the emotions were just so ridiculous it might as well have been. Baby is still kicking away so I'm assuming he's all good and not really bothered his mum is an emotional mess!

Anyone got a bump band? The stretch marks are under my bump and that area has been particularly painful for a couple of weeks. Would a bump band help with the pain? It's like a stretching/carrying a heavy weight sort of pain but I don't know if bump bands are more to help your back?

IKnitSoIDontKill · 07/08/2016 19:51

We have our pram, we went for the mamas and papas armadillo city. I'll probably mostly use a sling for the first few months, we had a big travel system last time and barely used it and now have a tiny flat, so trying to go for 'baby light' this time.

Contractions have held off all day and there was even talk of sending me home. I have spent a lot of time dozing as between the worry and the steroids and the pains I have barely slept for 2 nights. However, they now seem to be starting up again. Seems to be following a pattern of evening contractions that die off overnight, which happened with my last laboir but not until 39 weeks!

For now baby is hanging in there- she's happy at least on all the monitoring, is moving around loads and seems a good size so no concerns there. She just needs to stop trying to escape.

Afreshstartplease · 07/08/2016 20:23

I had evening and night contractions for a week with DC2 before he finally made an appearance at 38+3, I do hope your stop soon but it must be reassuring to know your in the best place Flowers

Soooooo want to get my pram out and play with it

OP posts:
TeaGirl3 · 07/08/2016 21:49

Can't believe we're all getting closer or are already into the 30 week phase! I'll be 30 weeks tomorrow, eek! I had my first experience this weekend of a stranger guessing the gender; they thought I "definitely have a boy bump"! Not long to go until we find out! Has anyone else had any other randoms trying to guess?

My little one has started to enjoy kicking me in the right hip, which isn't painful but more uncomfortable, so I'm trying to knead it into another direction!

thistlescot · 08/08/2016 04:27

I've been diagnosed with gestational diabetes, which knocked me for six a bit has anyone else had this? I've also got really bad SPD and have been feeling quite down about things am trying to do as much as I can but is hard when it's so painful.

AngharadTheSplendid · 08/08/2016 05:26

Hi thistle, a few of us on the thread also have GD. Try not to worry, I had it in my last pregnancy too and all was well! Definitely a shock when you first find out though.

30+3 today. DD1 arrived at exactly 37 weeks so may not have 6.5 weeks to go. Getting very real. Still don't have a name!

Knit how are you both doing?

Afreshstartplease · 08/08/2016 07:39

I've had to phone in sick because my pelvis will not work and I'm in agony Sad

OP posts:
Snowberry86 · 08/08/2016 08:54

I can't remember if I posted on thread 1 but if not-

Due first baby on 25th October. Off work for the summer holidays at the minute but dreading going back in September for 5 weeks.

Got PGP so struggling to walk far and find myself stuck on the sofa or in bed unable to get up if I do too much so I'm wanting it all to hurry up now so I can meet baby!

ChatterNatterer · 08/08/2016 08:56

Flowers for all the PGP/SPD ladies

I have it too and stupidly I thought I could do some light gardening yesterday - today I am hobbling to work as stiff as a board and dreading a day in a chair Sad

Knit hope all is good

Snowberry86 · 08/08/2016 09:02

I painted the hall and landing yesterday so think that's what made it so bad last night. I am usually pain free in a morning so then end up overdoing it and end up in agony by the evening which then keeps me up. Determined to have a rest day today so I cs sleep tonight.

Just started getting what I think is indigestion too. Never had it before but as soon as I lie down in bed I feel sick and have acid reflux. Only eat little meals already so not sure what else I can do to try and stop it.

Afreshstartplease · 08/08/2016 09:24

I did very little yesterday so no idea why my spd is so bad today. My codine is kicking in now eventually so I'm going to get dressed in a min and get dd dressed too.

Looking at how I can stay off work until dd starts school in Sept 2017. Does anyone know if keep in touch days can be worked while on the last three unpaid months of mat leave?
