Pleased you are doing ok newmum!

Yep, bump was very achy last week at 29 weeks, only at the bottom really which I'm guessing was to do with the way baby was sitting and the fact I seem to have doubled in size overnight!

Afreshstartplease · 01/08/2016 19:28

I'm seeing the mw again tomorrow, unsure if she will be willing to measure me again after only a week but I am curious lol

Newmum, that's so sweet of your boss! Sounds like your work is very understanding, which makes such a difference.

I'm also getting quite achy and sore. My bump felt really tight across the top earlier, in a kind of stretched way. Didn't go hard though, so figured it was more achy/stretchy skin pain than BH.

Miserable, rainy evening in London here. Hope everyone else is doing ok!

LillianFullStop · 01/08/2016 22:39

glad to hear all is well and they are keeping a close eye on you newmum!

Finally made a decision and ordered the Snuzpod and it's getting delivered on Friday! I need to find sheets for it somehow as they didn't have any Snuzpod sheets where i ordered from (M&P)

Next on the list is a baby bath... no idea what to go with yet!

Lisa I've been getting aching pains almost like period pains too. Doesn't feel like BH (not that I would know!) because my tummy doesn't feel like it's hard.

Afreshstartplease · 02/08/2016 07:34

So I was sick this morning, morning sickness like sick Sad feel okay now but PLEASE let it be a one off!

Glad you're out and doing ok newmum - that's so good your boss has been so lovely, think my boss could learn something from your boss!
Good to see lots of other snuzpod mummies on here! I haven't bought any sheets for mine yet but apparently you can just get normal fitted sheets rather than branded ones. I ordered mine from little green sheep though they do have some lovely looking sheets and sets on there if anyone is interested also Amazon sells them too.
Such a stupid question but will everyone's boobs leak before birth? I feel like such a first timer and even though I'm obsessively reading I still feel like I don't have a clue!!! X

Kariana · 02/08/2016 07:38

Newmum glad to hear you are home, make sure you get some rest whilst off work and don't push yourself to go back.

I'm relieved other people have had the same feeling. I'm in agony with my lower abdomen some of the time, but it's not as bad at other times. Last night baby attempted to climb out of my stomach through my belly button! Had the biggest lump of head sticking out and the pain was so intense I was jiggling around going, "what should I do? I don't know what to do!" at my poor husband. Baby just wasn't giving up on the idea that he wanted to go in that direction and eventually dh had to help me lie down on the floor on my back to get gravity to help out!

Afreshstartplease · 02/08/2016 07:42

I had a similar belly button pain incident at the weekend! Was horrible!

Have had some discomfort at top of bump this morning so doing lots of sitting down ATM

Kariana · 02/08/2016 07:42

Oh no Fresh Sad that's not good. Hope it is a one off.

Blueberry not everyone's do. Mine aren't showing any signs of it yet (though there's still time) but I know some people's have already started at this point. It doesn't make any difference to your milk supply whether you leak or not.

Nickname1980 · 02/08/2016 07:52

Oh gosh fresh, I had that sickness feeling yesterday! Dizzy and nauseous. Also really hoping it was a random one-off! And not back for the last 10-12 weeks, argh!

clank, thank you! I've a doc appointment today and am going to ask for the jabs. I am seeing a brand new doc, hopefully they'll be more sympathetic!

ChatterNatterer · 02/08/2016 08:13

Ugh fresh that's pants! Hope it was a one off for you

No leakage here yet - wondering if I should carry pads with me in case it happens while I'm out?!

Anyone else due early Oct starting to think about hospital bags and birthing plans? Sorry I don't mean thinking I mean panicking?!!!

Afreshstartplease · 02/08/2016 08:31

Mine have leaked ever so slightly once or twice, just a faint mark in my bra. TBH in all of my now 4 pregnancies I've never leaked enough to need a pad before the birth

OP posts:
SchnitzelvonKrummsverylowtum · 02/08/2016 08:48

I only seem to leak enough to need a pad in the night, and I think most of the time it's related to how I'm lying. I've never carried pads with me.

Normal crib sheets fit the snuzpod fine - we had some nice ones from mothercare for DS. We also had a little green sheep starter pack that was lovely - it came with some sheets and a jersey material blanket that was really handy for layering and for in the car seat when a blanket was needed but you didn't want to use anything too thick.

MrsMKJ · 02/08/2016 09:00

Ladies, I am still tres confused about fetal movement. One day the baby is moving constantly and I can feel/see it pretty much all day. That was the case for just less than a week but then yesterday the movements were much less. I had a couple of big jumpy/jerky movements but no little wriggles. How do I figure out what's normal? I asked my midwife last week and her advice was just if you're worried ring in. I'd be ringing in every few days at this rate!!! I can't figure out what's effecting it- I.e anything in my own routine such as exercise/eating etc. Anyone else experiencing a lack of pattern?? Confused

Afreshstartplease · 02/08/2016 09:07

I pretty much find I sit or lie down and baby wakes up. Also when I eat he will give me a nudge. Biggest movements when I chill out the end of the day after running around like a lunatic.

OP posts:
BlueberryMuffin85 · 02/08/2016 10:01

Thanks for the leakage advice ladies Wink I bought some pads so I'll be prepared if it does happen. I am in absolute panic mode right now I've got so many lists and feel like I just want to pack my bags and have every last little thing ready right now!
MrsMKJ I'm also struggling to find a pattern. Movements do seem to have changed in the last week they seem more rolling now than sharp jabbing kicks. I normally find lying on my left after a cold drink gets baby going. Also just had some music playing on my laptop and that certainly woke baby up I'm pretty sure it did a 360 turn Grin I think everyone is so different and it's so hard to monitor the movements when we all have busy lives and I'm also like you if I was worried I'd be ringing up every 5mins! I was thinking about getting one of those kicks count wristbands but don't think I'll bother and will carry on just keeping track as much as I can x

EnoughAlready999 · 02/08/2016 13:28

Feel absolutely shattered today. I feel groggy most days til lunchtime. Keep thinking I'll feel better when I have the baby but not sure that's true.

DD (10) is bored and doing my head in. Doesn't like any of my suggestions for things to do, just seems to want to watch TV. And want feeding every 2 hours, grr. I've texted MIL hinting that she might like
to take her to the cinema. Pees me off that I have to ask. Probably get even less help with this one as my parents are mid-70s now Sad

EnoughAlready999 · 02/08/2016 13:33

Oh bloody hell, she's just replied saying she's really busy and it might have to be Monday! They run a B&B but he's off down the pub every afternoon so I can't believe they're that busy. They're off on holiday on 13th Oct - 3 days before my due date - and away for Christmas. Don't think they could be less interested if they tried! Thoroughly pissed off now Angry

SchnitzelvonKrummsverylowtum · 02/08/2016 13:59

Enough I get where you're coming from. PIL's have booked a holiday for around my due date. FIL then suggested it would be good if this baby was late so they don't miss the birth.

They do take an interest in DS, but very much on their terms - they have him for a few hours most Sunday mornings, ply him with biscuits, sweets and chocolate, let him do whatever he wants then tell me that he never misbehaves for them, so it must be something I'm doing. Well, he wouldn't misbehave for me if I never said no either! So frustrating!

Afreshstartplease · 02/08/2016 14:09

Our DC have one grandparent that they ever spend any time with. There's little wider family support TBH. If we purposely contacted other people and asked for things someone would probably do a bit but I Cba really

If people wanted to be involved they would be

Had my whooping cough , urine being sent off to test for uti , bp higher than usual but still in the normal range, mw made not funny jokes about a ridiculously big baby

Schnitzel thanks I'll add that to the list too 😊 We have the bugaboo donkey twin which can be folded down into a single so we can do that if we're struggling for space, it's the carry cots that are gigantic but we'd only really need them if we were going out all day or away for a weekend and didn't want them in their car seats all day.

Newmum fab that you're home! Rest up :)

We had the carpet for the babies room delivered yesterday but it's too wee! We'd asked for 4.2x2.7m but they sent 5x2.2. Blah, they tried to say it's what we ordered as per the receipt but I was holding it while on the phone and all theyd written was "5m end of roll carpet". OH went down to sort it all and we got a refund but I'm gutted. We got a really good price as it was end of roll and we were planning in building up all the furniture through the week but now we're going to need to go carpet hunting again at the weekend.

Has anyone else had mild to moderate period cramps?? I've been getting them the last 3 nights, 27+4 just now. I've also got a really tender pubic bone that's started the last few days so not sure if it's that I'm feeling or if it's that that's causing the cramps. Have another scan with our consultant tomorrow so will ask then.

Chatter our babies shouldn't be any later than October 7th although my due date is October 28th and I've packed babies bag and half of my bag, can't be too early in my opinion, or maybe I'm a panicked ;)

SchnitzelvonKrummsverylowtum · 02/08/2016 16:18

April can you not fold down the carrycots on the donkey? We have the buffalo and I thought it was similar to the donkey, and we can definitely fold the carrycot. It is still quite big though!

What a pain about the carpet - we're having ours cleaned next week, but if it doesn't come up ok we'll have to get a new one.

April241 · 02/08/2016 16:45

Schnitzel just checked out some bugaboo demos on YouTube but can't see one specifically for the donkey, there must be a way though if all the others can do it - I'm going to have a play with it just now and see what I can do.

SchnitzelvonKrummsverylowtum · 02/08/2016 16:55

April my understanding is that there are long tabs on the inside of the carrycot with Velcro on the ends, going underneath the mattress. You lift the mattress out, undo the Velcro and push the frame towards the base of the carrycot. The bits that attach to the frame then sort of fold around, so the carrycot ends up quite flat. Hope that helps!

Kariana · 02/08/2016 17:44

MrsMKJ I definitely no what you mean. There isn't much of a consistency with mine either. I definitely feel them more what I'm sat down (lying on my left doesn't actually do anything), I think it's the relaxing that does it. Occasionally when I'm active I feel a flutter and realise that actually he is moving in there, it's just difficult to feel when you're active yourself. Like you some days I get hard kicks and rolls and I feel like there's a pattern, but then other days just the odd jab with more flutters low down. I think the key is the position they are lying in and where they are aiming their legs/arms, it's probably more of a pattern than we realise, just different intensity of the movements. Also found that sometimes I see movements I can't feel so that could definitely be making a difference!
