Another one hoping you're ok, NewMum. Sending you lots of virtual hugs x

Newmum90 · 30/07/2016 10:55

Hello.

Have been given a steroid injection and a vourse of antibiotics and am scheduled in for another one tomorrow but heartbeat looks ok so fingers crossed he stays put.

How is everybody else?

Afreshstartplease · 30/07/2016 10:57

Glad things are stable and you are in the best place Newmum

Tallblue · 30/07/2016 11:00

Newmum hope everything is ok with you and baby.

Me:
Age 35
DC2 - I have a 2 year old DD
Gender a surprise
Due date 18th October, although DD arrived at 37+4 so I'm kind of guessing this one might be early too.
SAHM so no maternity leave for me.

Living overseas in Middle East and struggling with the heat (around 45 degrees at the moment). Have SPD and pain from an old coccyx fracture. But generally ok, just puffing and heaving myself about with a lot of groaning and feel like I'm very elderly! Moved house this week which has been quite stressful.

clank hope you get some answers from all the tests, being so ill sounds very tough.

EnoughAlready999 · 30/07/2016 14:57

Someone just posted this on my FB.

www.theguardian.com/lifeandstyle/2014/dec/12/symphysiotomy-irelands-brutal-alternative-to-caesareans

It's absolutely horrific and something I never knew about. Read it if you dare. I was wincing.

Afreshstartplease · 30/07/2016 15:08

That's fucking awful I couldn't even finish reading it those poor women

OP posts:
SchnitzelvonKrummsverylowtum · 30/07/2016 16:30

I couldn't finish reading that either! It's horrifying!

April241 · 30/07/2016 17:14

Lisa yes! It is I with the gigantic foof! Most unpleasant, I honestly fear I'll have this forever.

Newmum glad baby is staying put, hope all is well, you must have got such a fright :(

Today we went and bought the carpet for babies room which is being delivered and fitted on Monday afternoon, OH is currently painting the room. I had a really bad sicky morning and walking around was extremely uncomfortable but it's getting better.

Has anyone had Braxton Hicks? If so what do they feel like? When I'm walking about I get this extremely uncomfortable feeling along my whole lower belly, it's like a pulling/tightening feeling. It's not painful at all but it makes walking really difficult and I have to go super slow, it's like a real heavy full feeling. So hard to describe! Not sure if it's just my bump or if it's braxtons.

April241 · 30/07/2016 17:17

Tallblue 45 degrees???? Heck no I'd be a blubbering mess in that! hope you're managing!

Blueskygirl30 · 30/07/2016 19:23

Newmum I'm really glad the heartbeat and everything are fine, that must have been really horrible and stressful when it happened!

April yes! That feeling you're talking about sounds exactly the same as what I get, I normally go everywhere really fast but when I get it I have to slow to a snails pace. I thought it was maybe the ligaments stretching but couldn't say for sure.

MrsMKJ I'm due 7th October and only this past week have I started to get a bit of a pattern to my babies movements. Before that I was getting quite stressed out as the midwives were saying I should have a pattern and I would feel him move loads one day and barely anything the next, they kept telling me to go to the hospital if I didn't feel anything but I would have been there the whole time if I did that so I waited it out as I decided all babies are different. It's nice now to feel solid movements everyday but it has literally been like that only for the past 6 days. Sorry that was quite long but I just wanted to say I felt exactly the same as you and it was stressing me out but a pattern has now started to emerge and I'm sure the same will happen for you soon.

Im so glad this huge foof thing has been discussed, I thought I was just weird having that! I seem to wake up feeling like someone's kicked me in the foof!

Figgygal · 30/07/2016 21:43

Gah ds massive bunk bed doesn't fit in his room due to radiator being 2 inches too close to wall we now can't access built in wardrobe and though it would fit in bedroom 3 it's so big we can't move it out so going to have to get someone in to resite the radiator......more expense SadSad

ChatterNatterer · 30/07/2016 22:49

Ach figgy that bloody sucks, how frustrating :/

MrsMKJ · 31/07/2016 00:07

Thanks blueskygirl that's really reassuring. The movement has been consistent for about three days now so hopefully we are settling into a wee pattern. Who knows! I agree, every baby is different.

My god ladies, BH talk. Are we there already?? Agghhhh! It's getting close!!

We spent what felt like a lifetime in mamas and papas today. Their promotions and offers are so confusing. It all looks so simple until you set your heart on something and go to order it. Mayhem! Staff were fab though, can't fault them. Managed to get quite a few bits unexpectedly sorted though so that's nice.

Hope everyone is having a relaxing weekend. Rest well newmum xx

Kariana · 31/07/2016 00:17

Glad things are ok Newmum, hope the baby stays put!

April I get the same feeling and have since about week 20! Bump goes really hard when it happens.

FuzzyOwl · 31/07/2016 00:27

Haven't been on this thread for ages, so lots of catching up. Hope everyone is ok.

April241 · 31/07/2016 00:52

Ah phew glad there are others with the same pains, it's so confusing at times! I had mild period type cramp the other night and a little tonight aswell - just absolutely terrified about preterm labour!

Did we ever find out when the third trimester officially starts? I'm 27+2 now, bugger it I'm saying I'm in the third :D

Afreshstartplease · 31/07/2016 07:52

I think we got third down to being 27 or 28 weeks but once you get past 25 I kinda think sod it lol

Hope your okay Newmum

ChatterNatterer · 31/07/2016 08:37

Not had BH -yet and am 30 + 1 - they don't sound nice at all!!

Our mamas and papas delivery caaaammmeee!! Minus the Cotbed! Still shit loads of random little things to get though! Going to try the car seat today, hopefully there's more room in my new car than DH's for it - I had to have the passenger seat so far forward my knees were in the glove box! Lol!

Afreshstartplease · 31/07/2016 08:43

I don't think I have anything big/expensive left to buy! Just odd bits like I want a baby swing and a pram suit

OP posts:
EnoughAlready999 · 31/07/2016 10:49

Sorry if that article was a bit much. At least we can be grateful we are now in the 21st century and these horrible practices are no more.

This big foof thing is funny! I didn't have it on my first pg - is it a 30s thing? Have you had it Fresh?

I've bought a pram off eBay - M&P Sola, purple with flowers. My friend said I can have her Maxi Cosi car seat and cot. Her two were co-sleepers so it's hardly been used.

I really want either that Bednest thing or the Chicco equivalent (next to me?) for the first 6 months. Has anyone used either?

Afreshstartplease · 31/07/2016 10:53

I had the foof thing once briefly following sex during second pregnancy but that's it. However if it's 30s thing I'm only 28 Wink

I've had a m&p zoom before which is very similar to the sola but three wheels, it was lovely

OP posts:
LillianFullStop · 31/07/2016 10:57

enough we're going with a bedside cot for the first 6 months too. Deciding between the Chicco and the Snuzpod

April241 · 31/07/2016 11:00

chatter yey! Some of it has arrived at least :D

enough I'm only 27+2 and have gigantic foof, noticed it about 2/3 weeks ago, I hope it doesn't get worse in the 30's o_0. My friend used the Chicco and loved it, think he son used it till about 5/6 months then he was too big and went into his cot.

We went car shopping again yesterday and took our pram base to see what it fits it, estate seems to be the option! Gads we're getting old! I'm selling my car next month (tiny Ford aka) and keeping the money plus adding to it to buy a second hand car next year as I don't need one of my own for the next year at least. Thinking Nissan Qashqai, Kia Venga, Vauxhall Mokka or Suzuki s-cross. Loads to research and test drive before I get one, does anyone have any of those cars??

April241 · 31/07/2016 11:03

Ford Ka, not aka.

SchnitzelvonKrummsverylowtum · 31/07/2016 11:50

We have the snuzpod- DS was in it to just past 6 months, and we found it really good. At the start we used it as a normal crib next to the bed, then attached it to the bed a bit later.
