bluecarrot have you got your MatB1 form yet as you pick it up from there? I asked about breastfeeding workshops as well.

I've been doing a lot of yoga and I love it. It's been great for my back and also I find it restores me, I'm a bit into the hippy side of things though! We unblocked our chakras last week which I loved Grin

positivity123 · 27/07/2016 21:39

I was thinking we should maybe do a bit of a roll call? There's been a few new people on recently, maybe put age, other DC, sex, due date and something about ourselves/pregnancy? I'll start and I'll do a big list at the weekend

Age 31 (I'll be 32 when it's born)
First baby
Due date - 12th Oct
Sex - a surprise
Had a miscarriage at 12 weeks last year so I had a tough first trimester emotionally but feeling good now. Go on maternity leave at week 37.

Northernlight22 · 27/07/2016 21:42

Positivity - are you me?!

Age - 31 (32 when baby arrives)
First baby
Due - 12th October
Sex - Boy
I also had a mc last year (about 10 weeks) so anxiety has been a problem right through - getting better now but still got those niggles

Afreshstartplease · 27/07/2016 21:45

Age - 28
DC4
Due date - 19th Oct
Sex - boy

I've only been measured once, at 28 weeks even though on nhs website it says you are measured at 25 weeks onwards.

positivity123 · 27/07/2016 21:49

That's uncanny!!
I think I'm having a girl though, it's measuring on the smaller side and I'm little but DH is big. I can't wait to find out!! Hopefully I'll know 11 weeks today. Labour always seemed a distant concept and now it's imminent I feel a red. I'm reading the hypnobirthing book though which I'm finding quite empowering. How you feeling about it?

Northernlight22 · 27/07/2016 21:49

Oops - missed something - mat leave starts at 36 weeks

positivity123 · 27/07/2016 21:50

A red = scared

HobnobDunker · 27/07/2016 21:52

Oh just realised the thread had moved on and my phone hadn't updated!

Age 31
First baby
Due 8th Oct
Girl
Am giving the natal hypnotherapy thing a try. If anyone wants tracks sending to them PM me Smile

SchnitzelvonKrummsverylowtum · 27/07/2016 22:06

Age: 30 (will be 31 when baby arrives)
DC2 - I have a 2 year old son
Due 25th October
Girl
Due to start mat leave at 36 weeks

I am due to sit an exam next week with work, and I'm getting very stressed, which makes me worry that I will harm the baby. Thing is, if I by some miracle manage to pass, I'm pretty much guaranteed a big pay rise in the next 18 months or so. Do I take the exam and hope for the best? Or tell work that I think it's too much and see if I can postpone? I suppose it would be better to get out of the way, as revising with a small baby and a toddler won't be easy.

Bluecarrot · 27/07/2016 22:28

Age :32 ( had to think about it!)
Dc3
Due 12th oct
Sex girl ( my third!)
Sahm and newly single parent so slightly anxious about that. Some minor niggles but otherwise fantastic pregnancy so far.

What's the worst that can happen if you fail the exam? Can you resit? If so I think I'd take it knowing it's not the end of the world.

Northernlight22 · 27/07/2016 22:32

I'd take the exam - might as well give it a go!

ChatterNatterer · 27/07/2016 22:40

I'd also take the exam - I did a project managementy one in my 2nd trimester and had major baby brain and over thought it a of and regretted booking it but shockingly I passed Smile You might surprise yourself x

ChatterNatterer · 27/07/2016 22:42

Age :34
DC 1
Due: 8th Oct
Sex: Girl
Mat leave starts at 36 weeks as have 2 weeks A/L to use up! Cannot frickin wait!
Health stuff: BorderlineBP, high BMI and terrible SPD at 20/21/22 weeks which thank god has eased off Smile

SchnitzelvonKrummsverylowtum · 27/07/2016 22:43

The resit date is the end of September, so probably too close to my due date. At the moment I'm thinking I don't really have anything to lose so I might as well go for it. It's just going to be a stressful week! Especially because DS won't leave me alone to revise!

No one has measured my bump yet. Should they have?

Afreshstartplease · 28/07/2016 07:30

SchnitzelvonKrummsverylowtum I only got measured at my 28 week appointment (when I was 27+6) next due to be measured at 30+6.

I don't really know how accurate bump measuring is, I've never measured big in previous pregnancies yet my last two babies were born on the 91st and 95th percentile, however I'm not sure if when I had them they were using a different method of calculating if your big.

Mw explained that Obv the measurements of a lady with a high bmi will be much greater than say mine when I'm naturally very petite. The graphs in your maternity notes should be tailored to you individually not just a standard same for every one.

Baby is certainly feeling big to me, his movements are so strong!

Age: 32
First baby
Due: 18th Oct
Sex: Boy
7 working days left before I start mat leave. Cannot wait to leave that place well behind!

Good luck with the exam Schnitzel, you might as well go for it. Try not to worry - just try to think that if you fail you aren't any worse off. My work has been hugely stressful and was particularly bad in the first trimester so I worried a bit but all seems well with the baby so far. Now I'm so close to leaving my blood pressure has dropped to 102/60 which is back to normal non-stressed pre-pregnancy levels so I'm pleased about that!

Afreshstartplease · 28/07/2016 07:38

Kariana I have 8 days left in work! Glad I'm not the only one going fairly soon!

Second nhs antenatal class today this one focuses on breastfeeding baby care after birth care last weeks on the shockingly bad there were 15 women and it was a cattle market made me even gladder that I have done Daisy foundation as not only do they do the breathing relaxation they do a bit of education which has been a good refresher since I went through this almost five years ago with ds.

I am going on mat leave 37+3, feel like I still have ages to go and wishing I'd taken a bit more time before but know it's in my best interest to stay working this long and I'll appreciate the time after more with baby.
NCT classes start at the end of the month. Not sure what to expect from them if nothing else hoping just to meet some other like minded mums to be
