30 Wks today ......mentally signed off from work already ........7 weeks to go still unfortunately.

I have bought 2 nighties with buttons 1 from mothercare which was in sale for £10 but peacocks have loads of them £6 either strappy or sleeved so might get a couple more also need to sort out bag.....I know which one will use but not bought anything for it yet.

I literally feel like I am going to go pop today feel so stretched and the little blighter is kicking me endlessly today too.

New nursery furniture is coming Thursday so DH will be building it all and DS bunk bed with his dad on Saturday. What are people doing about chair? Am not bothering with a nursing chair this time but need to get a chair of some sort.

Afreshstartplease · 26/07/2016 14:02

No space for a chair here, will just sit on the bed!,

OP posts:
ChatterNatterer · 26/07/2016 14:54

I want a chair but going to put the other furniture up first and see if we have room.

Does anyone have any recommendations? Are the 'nursingrocker' chairs much cop?

(((hug))) needabiscuit I'm not anxious about carrying - until she stops moving as much and then I panic, think about calling the midwife and I then get a shove to the ribs! i was told at 29 weeks she is breech which is loads of time to turn but as a first timer, with added complication of high bmi and blood pressure I think my dream of a not very medicalised (unless I choose) delivery is off the table :/

positivity123 · 26/07/2016 16:07

afreshstart saw that you get a stitch during sex and my reaction was 'she has sex!' Shock Grin I've been so tired and also DH hasn't really instigated it for a while which makes me a bit sad. Don't really know how to address it with him.
I'm going to get one of those cheap ikea Pello rocking chairs that cost £35. I think they are a bit ugly but they are comfy with a high back.
Thanks for stories about smaller babies- makes me think it's a girl as I'm little but DH is big.
chatter you have loads of chance of the baby turning. Try doing some yoga with lots of downward facing dog as that can spin the baby.

Northernlight22 · 26/07/2016 16:19

Positivity - So was mine when I read fresh response haha 😂 Way too tired and the spotting I had the other week has put dh off even considering it as he doesn't want a trip to hospital!

I haven't really done anything to get it, it's more of an ache today. Really annoying me, I'm guessing it's the weight of the bump

FuckJeffGoldblumMan · 26/07/2016 16:34

Been to midwife.

I have SPD. I'm in agony. I don't even know what it is

Afreshstartplease · 26/07/2016 16:54

Spd is grim welcome to the club

You need a physio referral and possibly some codine

Measuring above the 95th line here, if still same at 31 weeks will get sent for growth scan

The sex is not frequent or anything lol and TBH it's getting to the point now where there is just too much baby in the way

Needabiscuit · 26/07/2016 19:37

Chatter I was never like this with my firstBlush maybe it's because I know what to expect now, and am over thinking things!!
Roll on October Smile

Is the whooping cough jab optional? I didn't have it 10 years ago and don't really see the need. My daughter hardly had any illnesses as a small child apart from a few colds and one tummy bug. I'm not anti-vax but just not sure this is necessary.

Also is anyone getting the flu jab? I don't think they start it til September anyway so probably not worth it.

Went swimming today, seemed to help the aches and pains. Funny how heavy you feel when you get out of the pool.

Afreshstartplease · 26/07/2016 20:17

Whooping cough is optional yes. I think it's encouraged because it can be so bad if a new baby does catch it. I didn't have it with DC1 or 2 and they were fine, but I did have it with DC3 and she was also fine.

I had a flu shot when I first found out I was pregnant

OP posts:
Figgygal · 26/07/2016 20:52

Dh hasn't been near me for a month now and for first time in life I am frustrated as hell but last time we did it was a disaster so part of me thinks I don't want to encourage crap fat preggo sex anyway

positivity123 · 26/07/2016 21:10

enough there has been a big increase in whooping cough in the UK, my cousin had it earlier this year, she's 24 and she was very ill. It is really nasty especially when they are so tiny. It's a risk assessment I suppose, very small risk, potentially awful consequences.
figgy I'm thinking of watching some Poldark next time DH goes out for the evening as I'm in the same boat

April241 · 26/07/2016 21:12

Haha same reaction to the sex here, we're having sex every 3 weeks or so and each time is like a new puzzle trying to get comfortable! We end up giving up sometimes.

26+4 today and I feel like the 20's are draaaaaaaaagging by!!! I'm looking forward to next Friday because I'll be 28 weeks and into single figure countdown! Can't wait to get into the 30's.

I walked to my OHs work today because I could stand another minute in the house, took about 35 mins (normally 20) and I was totally gubbed at the end but glad I done it, going to try do it twice a week even. The back brace helped a ton.

Cmon October!!!!

Northernlight22 · 26/07/2016 21:55

I was wondering whether to do flu jab in sept, partly in the hope that I don't get ill whilst baby is small!

I did contemplate whether to bother with whooping cough but I looked into it and figured that id rather do it than risk baby catching it before 8 weeks (even though I hate needles!)

SchnitzelvonKrummsverylowtum · 26/07/2016 22:11

I've had whooping cough and it was really not pleasant, which is why I had the jab. The nurse who gave it to me told me to get a flu jab when they come in at the ending September as flu would be really nasty with a newborn.

Kariana · 27/07/2016 08:31

Enough it won't have been offered 10 years ago because no one thought there was a risk, however a lot of very young babies died in a recent whooping cough epidemic and the number of cases is still high, which is why they started vaccinating pregnant women. I would recommend getting the jab, it's such a small thing to eliminate a big risk.

Fresh do you have to have the flu jab again? I thought it was different each year and needed to be redone so I didn't get one at the start as I've never had flu. Will be this time if offered it though.

EnoughAlready999 · 27/07/2016 10:38

I will go for the WC jab then as that would be awful if the baby got that and DP would make me feel guilty as hell.

Still not sure about the flu jab. Never had it but I suppose there's a first for everything.

Sex is ok here, I'm surprised he's not put off by the sight of my lop-sided swollen vajayjay (his word for it!)

HobnobDunker · 27/07/2016 11:42

29+4 here and I've suddenly felt pretty exhausted over the past couple of days, had my bloods taken at 28 week app last week and I assume I would have heard back by now if it's to do with iron levels. I think maybe it's just the weight of me that's slowing me down.

I'm don't have a clue what the percentile thing is? I was measured by a student midwife and didn't have anything explained to me other than "you're measuring at 29". I was all hot and bothered and didn't think to ask what that actually means, I'm guessing the baby is a bit bigger than she should be? I've just googled it and still don't understand, arrrggghh feeling quite uneducated about all this.

EnoughAlready999 · 27/07/2016 15:08

I didn't know they gave a percentile measurement either Hobnob. I wouldn't worry about it. Sometimes they get it so wrong and predict large or small babies which turn out to be the opposite. My DD was 7lb2, I was 9lb2 so can see this one being in the middle. Hope its no bigger than 8/8lb 8.

Had a look at the antenatal group for July/Aug and they all post pics of the new babies - won't that be exciting when it's us?! I do wonder what you lot look like.

Fresh how old are your other kids?

ChatterNatterer · 27/07/2016 16:11

Has anyone gone to pregnancy yoga? Going to try it to loosen me up and as suggested try and help baby get out of breech position.

Booked in for first session tomorrow after work!

I used to do 'hot yoga' a few years ago before I got fat and lazy and loved it :)

Tacoyaki · 27/07/2016 18:01

Hi Chatter. I'm going to pregnancy yoga and loving it. I'd like to hear if you manage to turn the baby as mine is also breech (as per 28 week growth scan).

Some info from my yoga teacher in case it helps: "25% of babies are breech at 32 weeks but only 4% at 38 weeks so most of them turn all by themselves. You can take a look at www.spinningbabies.com for the best current info on helping a breech to turn."

Afreshstartplease · 27/07/2016 18:11

Do you not all have a graph in your maternity notes with curved lines on it and your bump measurements plotted?

OP posts:
Kariana · 27/07/2016 18:23

I have one Fresh. Only two measurements so far. My midwife told me they don't tend to worry as long as the number of weeks equals the number of cm +/-2. She was very good. Luckily I haven't seen the horrendous woman since before my 20 week scan, fingers crossed she isn't the midwife at my next one.

When does everyone start their antenatal classes if you're planning on going (the nhs ones I mean)?

Afreshstartplease · 27/07/2016 18:44

See my mw said they don't do it like that anymore! Used to be your 28 weeks should be around 28 cm but apparently not now it depends on your bmi ethnicity and previous births!
I measured 29.5 yesterday at 27+6, this puts me a good bit above the 95th line. I think because I'm petite

OP posts:
Bluecarrot · 27/07/2016 21:26

I've got my 28 week appointment tomorrow. Are there any questions you asked or wish you'd asked at yours?

I did pregnancy yoga in last pregnancy until carpal tunnel scuppered it. Should look into a few moves and find my hypnotherapy cd. And maybe daisy birthing classes. Heard they were good but haven't been organised enough!
