Hi user. We've got a sleepyhead too and a snuzpod. I got them both second hand (£170 total). I've really almost never bought second hand stuff before but on a tight budget it has seemed like the best option and I'm really happy with the quality of everything we've got. Welcome!

Fedupithink · 17/08/2016 00:45

I haven't weighed myself since my 24 week spot when I didn't at the gym and the midwife and there were 3 kgs difference between the two results - not helpful.

I've got the midwife again this afternoon so may check again but I've put on a fair bit I think. I feel heavier and my thighs are definitely bigger must to my disgust.

User we've done for the Snuzpod which we will take downstairs/upstairs and a
Motorola video monitor.

Pregnancy yoga was really good, very relaxing and I feel I've been stretched out so my back ache has gone. Yay!

Fedupithink · 17/08/2016 00:46

Argh please excuse all the typos, on my phone!

Spottyladybird · 17/08/2016 07:35

I'm seeing the mw this afternoon so will chat to her about it then. I can't remember what my weight gain was with DD but I haven't put much visible weight on anywhere but my bump which is massive. Feeling concerned that I'll be having a huge baby!

CocklesandMussels · 17/08/2016 08:28

I've put on about 8kg which goggle tells me is about 1st2lb. All on my bump and backside.
Welcome user. Re the pink and blue thing I've found it really hard to find neutral things. I guess so many people find out the sex these days there is less demand for it.
Once we move the plan is to wash and sort all DDs old clothes. Not that I'm going to feel like that by then! And if it's two boys they are just going to have to wear floral for a while.

coppergrey · 17/08/2016 10:36

For all of us trying to manage sugar cravings, I'm having a bowl of Skyr yogurt with honey and some sliced peach and it's really hitting the spot!

Also worried about a giant baby over here... especially as my grandma greeted me with 'look at the size of you!' last night Hmm

corinne65 · 17/08/2016 10:38

I've put on about 9kg I think - given that I'm about 5' I think that's quite a lot. I was on steroids at first so put this all on in the first 12 weeks - so hopefully now it's more baby & less fat!!

Re. sleeping - we have a Chicco next2me for sleeping at night - with a purflo bolster thing to keep it cosy (thanks to whoever on here suggested it) - and the purflo can be used on the sofa or anywhere for the baby downstairs. But am thinking the baby can sleep in the pram/carrycot when downstairs.

NCT class was extremely good. I thought it was just going to be about meeting new people - but actually we already learned quite a lot. I do actually know quite a lot about pregnancy & birth - but I wouldn't miss out on doing this if it's your first. The unexpected benefit was it really brought me & my husband closer together. You do feel very special as the pregnant half of the partnership and I think it will really help him. Interestingly the men seemed more nervous about birth than the women.

Bump sizes varied a lot which was interesting - the woman due first has the smallest bump & very small boobs too!!

Just thinking about nursery furniture & although an Ikea has just opened up 10 mins from us I've discovered delivery is only £35 so I think I might just get the lot delivered.

New car is also ordered - gosh it sounds like I've been doing stuff but I really haven't - the baby still has only got a pair of socks to wear . . . .

Honeymoon84 · 17/08/2016 14:49

Hello! I think I previously posted in a december thread before my dating scan moved me to 22 November, but have been reading for a while! I'm glad I'm not the only one feeling disorganised. We're moving from our teeny flat to a proper house in a couple of weeks so I haven't bothered buying anything as I didn't want to have to move it (and also there's no space here at the moment!)

fedup I've been going to pregnancy yoga too (although my 7pm class was fully booked last night!)...so relaxing isn't it?!

It's really nice to hear from other people in the same boat, I'm trying not to moan in real life but pregnancy is not glamorous at all!!

Spottyladybird · 17/08/2016 16:40

MW wasn't worried about weight gain and said some of could be water retention as it's warm. The fundal height was fine too- 28cm so bang on for my 28 weeks.

She is checking my iron levels though, I had a bleed after birth last time (PPH) and so she's quite keen for me to start on iron levels soonish to help to keep that at bay and aid recovery.

helenatroy · 17/08/2016 17:20

Hello all

Hope you're enjoying the sun. Counting the days till my builders leave so I can start buying. I panic sometimes at how little we have. Going to decorate nursery soon. There is a woeful lack of nice baby wallpaper. I wanted a feature wall of Beatrix potter or something but no joy. Have any of you any suggestions of wallpaper places? Also London Mum's have you seen any nice little prams suitable for a first floor flat? Am looking at uppababy, Yoyo and the bugaboo bee3.

corinne65 · 17/08/2016 17:48

Helen - what about wall stickers or a theme wall? There is a website called ohpopsie which has some great ideas.

Spottyladybird · 17/08/2016 17:56

Wallpaper Direct have this Beatrix Potter wallpaper which I think is beautiful:

This isn't so nice but is cheaper:

I've been waiting all day for the inevitable confirmation of gestational diabetes phone call. However, I've not had a call yet so I'm hoping it's good news. I'm hoping if it was bad news they would have called me by now. Got a midwife appointment tomorrow so hopefully she can give me a bit more information.

Glad to hear you enjoyed the NCT course corinne. Was a bit sceptical when I booked mine but feeling better about them now. They're not until end of September though.

Stretchedfortime · 17/08/2016 18:28

Hi bobcat

Fingers crossed it's all ok. Just to let you know though, I didn't get a phone call. I just got a text inviting me to an appointment with the diabetes midwife. So far though all my glucose level readings have been fine. So it's not as bad as I thought it would be.

bobcat85 · 17/08/2016 18:38

Thanks Stretched, glad to hear it's not been too bad for you. I can imagine it being a shock to start out with.
The nurses said I'd get a phone call today (had test yesterday) and if I don't hear anything then everything is fine and I'll get a letter in the post.

helenatroy · 17/08/2016 20:07

Thank you Spotty and Corinne.

CocklesandMussels · 18/08/2016 08:50

Lovely wallpaper! I might try stickers as we'll need a quick solution when we move. Paint in fairly poor condition though.
DD has decided that babies are to be called Poobum and Jesus.

tapismagique · 18/08/2016 09:59

I'm in the midst of the lucozade challenge right now & must say it's worse than I thought it would be. The hospital was really disorganised checking us in so 20 hungry pregnant women were jostling for a ticket, which resulted in shouting and pushing (not by me of course, I was highly decorous). Followed by an hour's wait for the blood test & pint of lucozade. Now in the 2-hour wait for blood test 2. They've said my midwife will tell me the results at my appointment next week - as long as I'm not sick in the next 2 hours, invalidating the result. Sigh!

bobcat85 · 18/08/2016 10:05

Had my midwife appointment today, baby all fine. Also confirmed that I don't have gestational diabetes, however that has encouraged me to improve my diet and try and get more exercise. Had to have bile acids taken due to itching and luckily that all came back normal as well but still confused why I'm having bouts of bad itchyness.

I'm trying to find a pregnancy yoga class nearby but they've all finished for the summer holiday. Hopefully I can do some in September.

tapismagique · 18/08/2016 10:28

That first Beatrix potter wallpaper is so sweet! Also Sainsbury's has Peter rabbit baby sleeping bags, quite cheap with the 25% discount. It sounds like I take commission from Sainsbury's but I don't! It's because I live opposite one, I'm in there almost every day

corinne65 · 18/08/2016 10:29

oooh Tapis - that doesn't sound like much fun - not looking forward to my diabetes test. I bought some internet strips - but either they are faulty or there's no problem as I can't get them to change colour at all!! Fingers crossed I don't have it - but it is indeed a good wake up call Bobcat.

Missing my aqua exercise class as the teacher is on holiday - it's the only place where I feel like a get a proper workout - rather than just having my heart pound & feel breathless having only climbed the stairs!!

Bah, just got an email from Amazon saying they'd made a mistake with the Sleepyhead pod but have sent a £10 gift voucher. I couldn't be bothered to inform them that I already had emails confirming that it was the pod and not just the cover so I've cancelled my order. I'll use the £10 voucher to get a cheaper pod.

coppergrey · 18/08/2016 13:10

I got that too, bobcat! I've gone back to the previous email where they confirmed I'd be getting the Pod... I'm not ready to let it go! I'll let you know what they say.

helenatroy · 18/08/2016 13:18

Tapis will have a look at sainsburys. DH Iis one of those minimalist freaks. He just tore my nursery design plan to bits. White box with stencilling now. Unless I can get him drunk.
