So while sitting in the waiting room this afternoon waiting for my mw app, it suddenly occurred to me that I haven't felt the baby move much in the last couple of days, mentioned it to my midwife and she said to lay in my left side, drink cold water or cold orange juice, maybe even eat something and that should make her move, but I've done all that and still nothing Confused heartbeat was all fine but she's told me to go to hospital if nothing changes by 6pm, anything else I can do?

Fedupithink · 08/08/2016 17:38

I don't have one either but my belly is getting really hairy! I'm super pale and naturally blonde so you can only see it in the light but it's so weird!

Tired the only things I know are what you have mentioned, other than a warm bath which usually works for me too. Follow the advice though, go in if nothing by 6pm don't risk it.

helenatroy · 08/08/2016 19:25

Last week I notice my stomach was hairy Mrs talked about it on here. Found out we were far from alone. It's a thing apparently!

latinata · 08/08/2016 19:45

I trimmed my tummy hair with scissors this morning as some was about an inch long. #rapunzel

Fedupithink · 08/08/2016 20:01

Oh dear! I'm not in the same range as an inch long but I'm definitely rocking the fur! Ha!

I had a crazy hormonal sobbing meltdown yesterday for about 2 hours. I think the reality of having an actual real baby is dawning on me. Poor DH didn't know what to do for the best. Less than 14 weeks until due date, it's quite overwhelming.

Stretchedfortime · 08/08/2016 21:34

Is anyone else having terrible heartburn? It's really getting me down.

tiredmumrighthere · 08/08/2016 21:46

Thanks fed up, I phoned at 6pm told the midwife on the phone what was happen g ect and she told me to come in, drove over in rush he traffic to get there and be told that they don't monitor you before 28 weeks now Shock so all she would be able to do is check for the heartbeat which is exactly the same as what my mw did this afternoon when I saw her! I was a bit pissed off to say the least! Surely my mw who advised that I phone delivery suit if nothing happened before 6pm and the mw on the reception desk when I phoned could of told me "well by all means come in but all we can do is check the heartbeat" how silly! So much has changed in the last 2 years it's a joke, my daughters only just turned two and I remember having to go in a lot earlier than I am now to be monitored for more or less the same reasons!

Just had a warm bath gonna go lay on my bed now and see if I can get her to move

LittleGreyCatwithapinkcollar · 08/08/2016 23:47

stretched definitely. It's horrid. I now remember last time and why I told dh we were never having another baby!

tired that's so annoying!! I hope she's wiggling away by now!

CocklesandMussels · 09/08/2016 08:16

Tired what a pain, I hope you have lots of wriggles now.
Stretched heartburn is ghastly isn't it? I keep burping too, I think DH about to divorce me over stinky burps in bed. Glamorous is not the word.
26 weeks, counting down the days at work and the weeks until I have babies and never need to be pregnant again!

needanewjob · 09/08/2016 08:55

I'm quite olive skinned and still don't have my line yet...I think I was quite late with my line last time tho. I also have blonde very fine hair on tummy and am still holding on to my inny belly button although at 28+2 it's getting flatter and flatter. My belly button never popped during my other pregnancies either

MuffyTheUmpireSlayer · 09/08/2016 10:59

Tired I hope everything is okay. I wish there was something we could use at home to keep a closer eye on movement - look how many of us have been worrying!

corinne65 · 09/08/2016 11:19

oh god had a horrible nightmare last night. I dreamt that the baby was born - but I had no memory of the birth or bringing him home. We hadn't got any nappies or anything else really so we kept the baby under a duvet. Our house was filled with either squatters or tenants (most of which were my family & friends). And we had to go out that night so we were leaving the baby with some man I didn't know. But the worst thing was that the baby (who was already talking) had the most enormous BFG old man ears - like ear lobes the size of the palm of your hand. I was quite glad to wake up & find he was still on the inside . . . .

Bollyroo · 09/08/2016 12:44

Ha! oh Corinne, yikes! I dreamt my stomach went translucent so I could see poppet and she had the most beautiful blue eyes but Owen Wilson's nose. Quite a bit of explanation would be needed!

I'm really not too excited by food at the moment, it's annoying. A couple of preggo friends are loving chuffing down the carbs and all I can stomach is grapefruit and dates. Can't wait to get my appetite back again.

MuffyTheUmpireSlayer · 09/08/2016 13:00

Corinne I probably shouldn't have, but I found your dream really funny! Grin

tiredmumrighthere · 09/08/2016 15:51

Thanks ladies, felt a bit more movement today thank god! When I saw the midwife yesterday she checked the position of the baby and said that she's quite low down so her positions changed from laying across so that's probably why I'm not feeling much, plus with an anterior placenta the positions probably cushioning the kicks more, these babies know how to keep us on our toes Hmm

corinne65 · 09/08/2016 16:24

Tired mum - thank goodness she is moving more. It's so horrible when you realise they haven't moved much. I had a couple of days when I didn't feel he was moving much - but yesterday evening he got really lively. I think little movement is like early bleeding - it may be a bad sign, but on the other hand it may not. I think we are just being got ready for a lifetime of worry as a mum!!

Glad I made people laugh with my dream. Am sure there will be plenty to come for all of us over the next few weeks.

tiredmumrighthere · 09/08/2016 17:25

Thanks Corinne65, it's been a worrying couple of days, but at least I've been able to hear her heartbeat (twice!) so that's put my mind at ease! After doing this 4 times before you'd think you'd know better..just shows every pregnancy is different.

I did have a giggle at your dream/nightmare too lol can't say I've had anything weird yet Confused

Fedupithink · 09/08/2016 18:02

I'm still in the innie club too at 26+3 but still a long way to go. It's definitely getting shallower though.

Did anyone else book up for the mamas and papas parents to be events? I'm heading to the Stratford Westfield one on Sunday to buy the bugaboo (exciting moment!) and a few other bits. If you spend £1000, you get £200 off so well worth doing.

CocklesandMussels · 09/08/2016 18:21

Oh Corrine your dream!
Weird what our bodies and minds do to us. When preg with DD I dreamt that the baby (it was a boy in the dream) arrived able to speak and tried to engage me in intellect let debate. I was freaking out and weird baby was telling me not to worry because this was all perfectly normal. Freaky!
I wish I'd signed up for the M&P thing, I can get on overground to Stratford so might see if I can still get a place. Enjoy getting the bugaboo Fedup.

needanewjob · 09/08/2016 19:37

Ahh enjoy the bugaboo shopping Fedup! Mine arrived last week and I need to find some time and energy to get it all out to have a proper look at it (although I don't want to build it too early in a weird kind of superstitious way)

bobcat85 · 09/08/2016 21:10

I had a dream the other week that I had the baby but it ended up being our cat and we were wondering if we still needed to put it in the pushchair or not.

Our travel system is still in boxes too Need. Should open it up at some point but still feels too early.

AyeAmarok · 09/08/2016 21:41

Hi everyone Smile Just checking in again and catching up. Lovely to see everyone starting all their baby shopping!

I'm not quite there yet. Feels like such a long way to go and also having days where I'm worried I haven't felt movements. I think my baby sleeps all morning and only wakes up at tea time, but this morning I had to sprint through Gatwick to catch a flight (bloody train chaos) and then didn't feel anything for 8 hours and was so worried I'd, well, ruined everything. The guilt was horrendous. I kept poking it trying to wake it. Then at about 6 baby finally started moving. Thank God.

I still have an innie belly button and it's getting deeper! No line yet. Think I might arrange a private scan as it just feels so long ago since 20week scan. Maybe around 30 weeks would be a good time.

Can also join the weird dream club - had a dream my SIL had to have the baby for me. It was a girl. DP and I were out with a friend and the baby was walking along behind us all about 5metres behind (struggling to keep up). When she went to follow us across the road she fell flat on her face and smashed her nose and teeth in, I heard the crunch Sad Talk about inadequate parenting!

helenatroy · 09/08/2016 21:49

The dreams are interesting. I never ever dream about the baby unless it's a strange one such as the baby was really a cat or it just disappeared.

CocklesandMussels · 10/08/2016 08:13

Last night I dreamt I was being used as a naked art installation, covered in fluorescent body paint. I've had enough!
Spent yesterday worrying that upper baby wasn't moving much, and have now spent the past hour wishing it would stop trying to bust out of my belly in alien style.
22 days at work before I stop. Can't wait. When's everyone else going off?

MuffyTheUmpireSlayer · 10/08/2016 08:33

Im glad the baby started moving again AyeAmarok. This definitely should be something that we're warned about!

Part of me wants to experience these weird dreams too Grin I can't even remember what I've dreamt about most nights.

I'm going to go off around the October half term Cockles (I'm a teacher). I'm going to put down 4th November which is the first Friday after the half term and 6 days before I'm due, but if I have the baby during half term I just won't go back! I'm a bit worried about leaving it so late in case I go into labour at work, but my maternity package is not great so I want as much time with the baby as possible! Luckily I work 5 minutes away from the hospital so I'll just have to tell my colleagues to carry some towels in their cars Grin
