Hi everyone waves

Congratulations bigfam! 4 girls, woah!!

An ex boyfriend of mine was the only boy with 3 sisters and he loved it because Christmas and birthdays the girls kind of got the same average presents from family and friends while he got Playstations and bigger ticket items because he was the "special" one haha

Oh I thought the nausea and sickness was gone. Hit me with a bang today. Felt like I was going to pass out in tesco. Managed to get home, sat for 30 secs then brought up breakfast. The most unpleasant sickness I've had.. I've spent the rest of the day struggling to stay awake.

I've been quite tired too! Might have been the late night last night though! My mums very kindly offered to buy us a pram / she's suggested either the bugaboo chameleon or the icandy peach. I don't have much experience in either as its a first baby! Does anyone have any experience of either? Which is supposed to be better?

Awww duxb and bigfam how lovely, team pink Smile

I had the weirdest dream last night. I went into labour in the supermarket and gave birth at the checkout. Then I had to put the baby on the conveyer belt to get scanned and weighed 😂 Even stranger, I named him Jackson in the dream, a name I've never even considered, and I told dh today and we both love it!

babydreaming they're both very good quality! Main difference as far as I can tell is that icandy peach, if you buy the right carrycot, can be stacked on two levels for when you have your second baby (not something I thought about just yet!). With bugaboo it can only be side by side and they're quite wide but depends on your preference. Bugaboo has a slightly lighter frame. With peach you have to buy the carycot separately so all in all works out a bit more pricey.

Thanks Grin I weirdly had a dream a couple of weeks ago I gave birth to a baby girl in the toilet! I just knew we were having another girl too (however much mil wished otherwise!) so I've guessed the gender right in all my pregnancies now, bit weird added to that dream! Shock

I've just had the most amazing experience playing hide and seek with the little one! The OH and I were checking up on the baby using the Doppler and found him/her right away before they swam away, it was so weird to hear the move but to feel little movements as well made me cry. Because j could feel the movements I knew where they had moved to and could find them again, after a few go's of hide and seek they stayed still long enough to reassure me the heartbeat was nice and strong before running off with a little tickle of my belly Smile. I couldn't be happier.

We have an icandy peach babydreaming and my friend has a bugaboo chameleon. As far as I can tell there's not much to choose between them. The bugaboo can be converted so you can drag it on two wheels (eg on the beach) but you have to manually faff with to change from carrycot to seat and the same frame is used for both. The icandy looks better in my opinion and has a good strong brake. Both are good options. I'm really happy with ours and would choose the same again.

Anyone heard from barkingtreefrog? Hoping her scan went well yesterday.

16w midwife appt here today at 16w+3d. Midwife became a Granny last week - she's the mother of a friend of a friend so lots to chat about. She'll let me know what consultant said about my reluctance to see her (BMI +++ and booked a home birth - been there done that with unhelpful consultants!) and listen to the heartbeat.

Oh wow I've just felt some really clear movements, it made me gasp because it literally felt like a few little flicks! The sonographer at the scan asked if I'd felt anything yet because she was really active, and I told her not even a flutter. 16+3 today Grin

tinysalmon do you know if listening to the heartbeat at 16 week appointment is routine at St Georges? I totally assumed it was so have been clinging on waiting for that, but now nervous they won't! I don't want to pay for another private scan, but not sure I can wait til 20 weeks for some reassurance!!

Had 16 week appointment this morning and heard the heartbeat. Took a little while. Little one is not keen on being scanned, measured or listened to. Seemed healthy, though. Grin
Now have to go off to school to teach my class for the afternoon. I'd like an extended weekend...for about four weeks. Summer holidays soon and I can't wait. Smile

Went to the pharmacy and they gave me some cough syrup (it's really getting annoying and I got to the point where I was throwing up because I was coughing so much). I did say that I was pregnant and pharmacist seems to think it's ok. Bottle said not to take it in pregnancy without being told to by doctor. Confused now. Confused Anyone got any idea? I could really do with some sleep.

I've been away for the weekend so lots to catch up on.

My nausea is getting much better, finally! I've felt the occasional really strong movement, but also days without. My bump also grows and shrinks! It's to do with how and where baby is lying.

Re. Car seats, it is really useful to be able to carry them in and out of the car without waking them. But, if you have a sensitive baby like dd, she would wake even in the car seat! Also, they're really heavy, and you have to lift and twist which is not good if you have a dodgy back/arms etc.

Can anyone recommend a brand of maternity tights? Small tho my bump is, my regular ones are too uncomfortable now...

Report
DartmoorDoughnut · 27/06/2016 12:52

DS woke when the engine went off so that's why I said it wasn't a useful thing to carry them in and out. Plus the car seats are ridiculously heavy, I mean they have to be for safety etc but lugging it in and out seems daft to me! However a friend always turned up lugging the car seat so different horses different courses!

oriana I searched in vain for decent tights in my last pregnancy. At the moment, I'm wearing the next size up.

Oriana, the best maternity tights I found last time were from jojomamanbebe. At this stage of pregnancy though I just rolled the top down under my bump or cut the elasticated bit off at the top to be honest. Really glad not to have wear them this time around!

Hi firsttimer I don't know :/ My 16 week appointment is with my local midwife team at an NHS practice so not at St Georges per se. I think every clinic might be different but I can certainly let you know once I've had mine next week (need to check the date) x

Sorry for double posting but has anyone signed up for NCT? When do I have to do our application?
