16wk midwife visit this morning. All she did was take my blood pressure! She said they don't check the heart beat until 25 weeks as it'll only cause panic if it can't be found.

2.5 weeks til next scan!

I found the heartbeat about halfway between belly button and pelvis, about an inch higher than where the midwife found it last week.

I think I'm falling apart this week, broke my toe on Thursday and had a letter from the antenatal clinic saying I've got a UTI. Had no symptoms at all, the docs given me amoxicillin - which has bought me out in a rash!!

StubbleTurnips Sad oh no you poor thing! Hope you're better soon.

Marking place.

Oh dear stubble! Doesn't sound like you're having a great time of things.

Does this happen to anyone else: some days it looks like I have a neat bump and others my tummy is almost as flat as it used to be?

I get scared there's no longer a baby in there but considering I'm 14+4 today and just threw up my breakfast, I'm fairly sure there is!

Report
bumbleclat · 25/06/2016 09:46

Oh Salmon I'm with you on the throwing up breakfast thing... So vile.
Also 14+2 feeling nauseous as ever.

becciandbump · 25/06/2016 10:10

Really feel for those still being sick I been so lucky to have not thrown up but have made up for it in other ailments. Hope it passes soon and you can try and enjoy your day sending hugs x

Thanks for the new thread!
Another here wanting to join the Facebook group if it's not too late.

I had really bad heartburn all last week but it looks like it has calmed down again now. Thankfully I'm getting my energy back and the nausea has eased off. I really feel for those of you who are still feeling or being sick.

Just dropping in to say hi. Rubbish about the UTI Stubble. I had a letter come 2 weeks after my 8 week app saying I had one but unfortunately I had awful symptoms before the letter arrived and had to get antibiotics on a weekend from out of hours. I was a little angry actually because I got a text from boots saying I had a prescription and it was more antibiotics my GP had prescribed without even speaking to me, not good practice I'm sure but only their own budget they've wasted.

My midwife refused to check baby's HB at 16 week app. I've used a doppler at work and found it quite hard to find but can find my own really easily, haha, I know the baby's is much faster though. I've read under 140 beats is likely to be a boy and over likely to be a girl but don't know really.

Anyone feeling movement yet?

Report
Babydreaming · 25/06/2016 12:00

No movements yet! I'm 16w4d. Really desperate to feel them that sometimes I think I imagine them!

Report
NurseRosie · 25/06/2016 12:20

Aww, I know that feeling. I'm worried I won't realise I can feel baby moving, my friends say it's like bubbles at first x

Report
goinggrey1978 · 25/06/2016 12:51

Yes as I said on Sunday bubble has been tickling me from inside day and night now, it's a odd sensation until you get used to it!! Even more bizarre when hands and feet tickle at the same time though!! I find it really reassuring now and it's bubbles way of telling me, didn't forget about me!!
Anyone suffering with nausea and sickness, please get sea bands, they are my best pregnancy buy so far, they really work and I wear mine day and night and feel a lot better now, as I was suffering really badly with constant nausea!

I've not felt any movements yet either, 16+1. I can still remember when I was pregnant with dd3 that I used to see her (practice) breathing, MW saw it once at an appointment, it's amazing to see, as are little hands and feet poking out!

Hi everyone, not posted for a while and just caught up on 5 pages of reading :)

I had my midwife checkup on Wed at 16+2 and the midwife did all the checks/questions and said 'right, let's listen to the heartbeat now'. I didn't realise some areas don't do it and wouldn't have known to ask! It's quite confusing, what are NICE guideline for if everyone does things differently? Anyway, minirant over :) The heartbeat was great to hear. I was also surprised that the top of my uterus is bit below my belly but the baby is still really low, just above my pubic bone.
My weight hasn't changed at all but, as I am a bit overweight and am clearly gaining some in my midsection, I must be losing it from other places. Midwife said, as long as the baby is growing, they don't care about my weight.
As for movement, I've not felt nothing i can definitely say was the baby. It's easily confused with gas so I'm waiting for something distinctly different!

Minispringroll · 25/06/2016 19:36

Got my midwife appointment on Monday, but midwife at previous one mentioned that they'd listen to the heartbeat then. Hmm
Have got my irritating cold back. It's great...I seem to catch everything going around in my class (I try washing my hands but they keep coughing and sneezing all over everything...). If this continues, little one might be immune to everything by the time it's being born. It's certainly getting a lot of exposure.

Is anyone else still really exhausted? I was struggling this afternoon so put my head down thinking half an hour nap would help and my DH woke me up 3 hours later!!

Jfw82, knackered! I had a couple of days when I thought being exhausted had passed, but today I planned a 'nap' with dd3 and woke up 2 hours later. Although I manage to stay up past 9pm compared to a few weeks ago. Grin

Still exhausted here!! Had a sleep for an hour this afternoon and now lay on the sofa contemplating early bedtime, ha! Did venture to town and buy a couple of newborn size bits for the baby though Smile

When's everyone buying buggies andc its and car seats?? I've been window shopping online but I'm unsure how much before the baby is born your supposed to have those things ready and in the house, a lady I know is 10 weeks away from giving birth and she doesn't even have a crib let alone a cot, isn't that leaving it a little bit late??
