bumble We are thinking about things like layout and choosing furniture and colour. Likely to do the actual decorating in mid August though as I am with you on getting it done when I know I have time and energy to sort things out..

barkingtreefrog · 23/07/2016 07:20

bumbleclat I don't think it's men that don't see clutter, my dh is always mad at me for my clutter! He doesn't like having 'stuff' around the house, drives him insane!!! It was in our wedding vows that he had to promise not to nag me about it Grin.

I would love to do the nursery and have lots of ideas about what I would like to do but I'm far too scared. My friends had a still birth and I remember thinking when they told me their sad news how hideous it would have been to come back to the house from the hospital and see that nursery, all furnished ready. I can't get that thought out of my mind. As the baby will be in with us for the first 6 months anyway I've decided to leave it until the baby is born. MiL was really keen to buy us a travel system (she bought a top of range one for BiL's first baby) but we don't need one as we're fortunate enough to have one available second hand, and then she offered to buy the cot and bedding etc but someone else has just very generously given me their Amby Hammock, so I thought she perhaps wouldn't mind contributing towards paying for a decorator to do the nursery instead!

Sorry to hear about your mum, my dad is very ill, he's got MSA (similar to Parkinson's but all your organs start shutting down as well) and he's deteriorated fast. Now in a wheelchair with very little motor control and difficult to speak and be understood. Just hoping he hangs on long enough to meet his first grandchild Sad. Makes me quite bitter that if we'd got pg when we started trying in 2011 he would have had a few years with them before he was in this situation.

And on that cheery note, happy weekend everyone!!!! Grin

Thisisbonkers · 23/07/2016 08:01

We've too much work needing doing before we can decorate the nursery Blush so need to crack on with getting the builders in!

BristolLFR · 23/07/2016 08:54

That's so sad about your parents bumble and barking. A very real reminder not to take my mum for granted when I get annoyed she's wanting to get a bit too involved...

BristolLFR · 23/07/2016 08:58

I've just slept for 13 hours!

Came home from work yesterday in a right grump with a headache, poor DH was very tolerant as I huffed my way around the supermarket on the way home!

Fell asleep on the sofa at 8, got told to go to bed at 9 when it was clear it wasn't a nap and have woken up now! I feel so refreshed. Desperately needed that

bumbleclat · 23/07/2016 09:05

Thankyou, barking that is harrowing :( your poor friend.
It won't be a bedroom just somewhere for toys, nappy changing table, drawers with clothes in an maybe some pictures. I want baby to feel in all our minds welcome into the family and by dedicating a room to him/her feels like it helps us all adjust and gives me an excuse to buy cute things when Im out and about
I think what I'll do is just gather together all the things I need then just plonk them in the 'nursery' all piled up, then after the birth all going well, get DH to arrange it all, it could do with a lick of paint anyway.
Thank you for your thoughts.

bumbleclat · 23/07/2016 09:08

barking so sorry about your poor dad, it is truly horrendous to see loved ones suffer in such a violent way isn't it. Somehow Ive been able to compartmentalise all of the balls I'm juggling but it is so hard, Ive got brilliant support but it does all get on top of me at times as Im sure it does you.

becciandbump · 23/07/2016 22:09

Omg anyone's mother driving them mad while pregnant, got told off at dinner for having 2 sips of my husbands wine and she has just quite seriously asked me whether I should be holding my mobile phone so close to my bump because of 'Waves' how ridiculous im holding it at chest height and don't believe in all this radiation nonsense anyway! Agh

Lovewatchingrainfall · 23/07/2016 22:27

Oh dear becci that does not sound good. I have a very overbearing mother in law and it sounds like the thing she would say. I still have not told my parents (not that close) and know she will just moan and say I have ruined my life.

Had an awful day today was in town and walking around then had this awful pain in my hip and really struggled to walk in the end I was in so much pain I was crying. Managed to sit in the end on the floor in the middle of a very busy shopping centre and after a bit the pain went away which I was so pleased about. Scan on Wednesday and can't wait to see baby again.

Thisisbonkers · 24/07/2016 08:42

My mum, fortunately, knows not to be overbearing or overexcited at me. I know she is excited (she's telling the world!) but I'm left mostly in peace. It's DP who won't let me do anything! He's made a right mess cutting the hedge and won't let me do it!

I think this may have been covered previously. And is quite TMI and very BlushBlush but piles? Blush I'm really suffering Sad other than this I'm blooming with lack of nausea and plenty of energy.

Still not feeling anything Sad I thought I had a kick or two this morning in bed but a cat was lay next to me so it could have been her twitching!

Thisisbonkers · 24/07/2016 08:42

lovewatching not spd?

Bella1985 · 24/07/2016 09:21

becciandbump Your mum sounds like mine! I wasn't allowed to unload the dishwasher because I would stretch too much (even though she was stresed with housework and caring for my dad, who's been in an accident and can't move due to spinal injury, and me doing this one little thing would really help her out right now). There are loads of other small things, random things she gets worked up about she doesn't need to (shouldn't get too close to animals as they'll kick me in the stomach i don't like animals especially big ones so i'm not going anywhere near them!) the list goes on...!

Sorry to hear you're having hip problems lovewatching, and piles thisisbonkers* and the ones with parents who are very ill, that must be so hard for you. sending big hugs and lots of strength to help you cope Flowers

DartmoorDoughnut · 24/07/2016 17:10

As it's the second everyone is more relaxed this time around. First time around I had one lovely girl in work telling me off for stretching over the desk in case I looped the cord around the baby's neck?! Bless!

excitedmummytob · 24/07/2016 17:55

Hey everyone! Lovely to hear good scan news! We have been brave and ordered nursery furniture today...trusting 21 weeks isn't too early!Would have waited but it's on promotions and definitely the one we want!

barkingtreefrog · 24/07/2016 20:25

bonkers anusol is your friend.... (Just not the steroid version, as you can't use that in pregnancy).

Thisisbonkers · 24/07/2016 20:45

Thank you barking guess I'm headed for that tomorrow!

Nojo82 · 25/07/2016 13:44

Anyone still having really vivid dreams. They are driving me insane sleepless nights and waking wondering if it was all real.. just want a good normal nights sleep..

Bigfam · 25/07/2016 14:56

Hi all, 20 week anomaly scan today, spent ages looking at her heart and I started to worry but everything was fine in the end. The sonographer also agreed she's a girl 😊baby got fed up in the end and turned her back on us, but we got a cute picture of her ear sticking out the side of her head

Thisisbonkers · 25/07/2016 15:06

Lovely scan, bigfam

nojo, I have mental dreams at the best of times! Pregnancy has increased them tenfold.

I think I might be feeling movement. A bit like muscle twitches a few inches below belly button? Anterior placenta so I've no idea!

Thisisbonkers · 25/07/2016 15:06

I should add, noticed it last night and a few times today!

IslandLife · 25/07/2016 15:30

Thisisbonkers - I thought I felt a bit of movement last night and where my bump was harder on one side, it moved to the front so I was lying there willing more movement! The sonographer said it would be another 4 weeks though, so I'm trying to be patient.

Thisisbonkers · 25/07/2016 15:33

How far are you? I'm 21(+1) now. Maybe I am just twitching Grin

IslandLife · 25/07/2016 15:34

This is my favourite pic from my scan Smile

IslandLife · 25/07/2016 15:49

I'm 20 weeks today, so I think I need to be more patient. Bump is really low and I feel like a kangaroo carrying around a baby in a pouch! Confused

HannahJH · 25/07/2016 15:50

I had my scan this morning too and all was well, yippee!! Still team yellow. They spent AGES looking at the heart too but she said she could see it was ok, but just couldn't get a picture to show that to prove it! It was so uncomfortable when she digging in with the probe so I was glad when she did get the pic!! Good luck to everyone else xx
