Yep I'm still really tired. My job is quite strenuous and the heat has been killing me when working.

Oh I don't know if my OH will make my 20week scan. Got me thinking now, might just make him come. It's a day that he can't get off tho.

duxb · 21/07/2016 21:35

Hi all - hope are all well and apologies to those with worrying news. We are still waiting on our second scan to confirm all is well with the heart. Medicine nowadays has to give you hope though.

We arrived in London today after leaving for Rome last Friday. Rome, Berlin, Bruges and now this - my feet are swollen, I'm exhausted and never want to see another plane or train again but it's been lovely (and just what hubs wanted to do). Will be nice to have photos of bump in so many cities to show her too.

Anterior placenta and no real awareness of any movements yet which is stressful but to be honest I have no idea what I should be feeling to know whether I am or not??

TinySalmon · 21/07/2016 22:43

Anyone else watching Love Actually on ITV2 right now? Getting me excited for Christmas and all our Christmas babies Grin

TinySalmon · 21/07/2016 22:57

Sorry duxb hope you don't think I was being insensitive by not acknowledging your post. Please let us know what the verdict is at your second scan. Hopefully everything is ok x

barkingtreefrog · 22/07/2016 05:33

I seem have reverted to early waking again Angry.

Dux when is your next scan?
I am 20w today and have still felt no movement, placenta is tucked away at the back though, so not a reason! I'm back in to see the consultant a week on Monday so she can check I am feeling movement by then.

A friend dropped off a load of maternity clothes yesterday. There are more tops in the bags she brought round than I have normal tops in my wardrobe - I'm sorted for the entire pregnancy! Grin

bumbleclat · 22/07/2016 05:42

Same here barking it means I end up napping in the middle of the day, we're getting prepared for weird sleep patterns already!
Nice one on the mat clothes, I'm still wearing dresses which are easy to hide bump in, it'll be harder with trousers but the hot weathers helping.

duxb · 22/07/2016 06:38

All the advice is that if you haven't felt anything with an anterior placenta by 24 weeks to contact your midwife. My next scan is a week on Monday so not too far away at all.

It's first baby for me so the twinges and pulls I've been having could well be baby - if have no idea. I'm 22 weeks today so it's just a case of waiting and seeing.

weechops · 22/07/2016 07:15

firawla I'll be going to my 20 week scan on my own. Well dh is still abroad so he couldn't come anyway 😄 My friend is looking after the kids. It's fine to go on your own, I went alone with baby #2 as dh was working away then too. I wasn't the only one in the waiting room that was on my own.

Is anyone having to pee a lot more now? No matter how little I drink at night, I'm up at least 2 or 3 times to pee 😕 So bloomin tired too!!

StubbleTurnips · 22/07/2016 08:18

Well I'm pissed off with the midwife team already, booked to see them at 17w but she was off sick and no cover. No problems. Booked in today - doctors surgery rang and there's no midwife again, no cover. Booked into a different regions MW team next week at the same surgery.

Was last seen by her at 12w, feels like ages ago.

Newbie199 · 22/07/2016 08:49

Thanks Islandlife and Nightcap, but I've been drinking lots of water as well. By the way, I try to take a nap, but I've been getting restless legs, which is really annoying. Did you have that too?

shopaholic85 · 22/07/2016 10:45

barking I'm 20+1 and haven't felt anything either. Like you, I have a posterior placenta. People keep telling me not to worry and that you feel movement later in first pregnancies, but it's making me anxious. I've been lying down in the evening and really concentrating, but nothing. My anomoly scan is on Tuesday, so should know soon if all is okay.

HannahJH · 22/07/2016 11:25

Hi Shopaholic,

I have heard that lying down is the best way to feel the movements but I always find for me it is in a morning while I am sat bent over at my desk. I panic every weekend that the movements have stopped but come Monday morning sat at my desk, I can feel them again. They are really faint and could so easily be missed though but as each day goes by I am more sure that they are movements. I get them most when I am sat like that and have a cold drink of apple juice usually! I know everyone is so different though but you could just be feeling out for them at the wrong time xx

fiddlesticks123 · 22/07/2016 11:33

Fingers crossed for those hopeful and awaiting better news.

We had our anomaly scan last Friday and learnt that we are firmly on Team Blue!! 20+6 today and still no kicks just flutters, hoping for some kicks in the next couple of weeks Smile

IslandLife · 22/07/2016 11:34

Just had my scan, and we're team Pink (due 12th) Smile 1st pregnancy for me so I was happy either way....4th team pink for DP though! All good and wriggling around...low anterior placenta though so can't feel a thing, so having another scan at 32 weeks.

Newbie - I have always suffered with restless legs, so it's worse in pregnancy!! Unfortunately everywhere I've looked there's no good advice for this.

In other news, I sneezed earlier and nearly wet myself...though that was supposed to happen after giving birth Confused

OrianaBanana · 22/07/2016 12:50

firalwa I went on my own to the 12w as we had no childcare and mn was split on whether I should bring DS to the clinic let alone into the scan. As it was there were plenty of kids there and in the scanning rooms themselves. But it was fine on my own (luckily no bad news).

I am hoping I can compromise on the 20w by having DH and DS in the waiting room for most, then come in at the end just to see baby and learn the sex (unless there are problems in which case I'll need to discuss with DH separately).

I think there's no right or wrong (apart from some sonographers won't allow other children into the scan), just whatever is best for your family. Heck I was even thinking of giving birth on my own in hospital, last time it was nice having DH there but he just nicked the gas and air and went to sleep.

shopaholic85 · 22/07/2016 13:13

Thanks Hannah. You're right, there are definitely times in the day when I wouldn't notice if there was faint movement. It could very well be that when I'm lying down trying to feel her, she is fast asleep. I have a very large bump for 20wks so maybe she is just well cushioned?

Lovewatchingrainfall · 22/07/2016 13:55

Can I have your ladies views on this name. There was a child at soft play today playing with my DD called Tintin and since I heard it it has grown on me would I be mean calling my child it? We currently only have a couple of boys names which is Felix and James.

NotAClue82 · 22/07/2016 14:18

Hey guys! I haven't been able to keep up with the thread with all the millions of scans I've been having & the moving house stuff, but scanning through it just now it's lovely to see so many bump and scan pictures.

As for me, things are looking pretty good for my twins at the moment! One is still growing a bit faster than the other, but they are both continuing to grow & develop quite well. So we are starting to feel optimistic about our little babies!

And, they are girls!!!Grin

NotAClue82 · 22/07/2016 14:23

Love, that's a pretty cute name, but are you familiar with the comic book series "The adventures of Tintin"? (Sorry, that might be a stupid question but I don't know how popular he is in England!). I think people might expect your baby to have a bright orange quiff if you do go ahead with that name...

Chookchick · 22/07/2016 17:52

lovewatchingrainfall I have a mate in his thirties and has called himself Tintin since he was a teen. No one ever asks if it's a nickname or his proper name. He's a fun guy and it does suit his nature. We only found out his real name when he said his wedding vows!

Lovewatchingrainfall · 22/07/2016 18:31

Thank you for your advice regarding the name. I will keep it on my list. I had vague memories of the Tintin books but i thought i had maybe had a dream it. but thank you NotaClue

NotaClue Glad the twins are doing well. Strong little girls.

billabye · 22/07/2016 19:33

Just booked our family holiday for July 2017! So exciting! Grin

Thisisbonkers · 22/07/2016 19:44

All these scans Grin exciting!

bumbleclat · 22/07/2016 21:44

Aww love Tintin is cute!

notaclue how amazing that you're doing double the work growing two humans and both girls- lovely :)

I have had a major nesting day today, Im on summer holidays after a gruelling summer term and now Ive finally caught up on all my sleep I woke up at 5.30 am and started clearing out all of the kitchen cupboards, cupboard under the stairs, doing all the laundry, then the garden- phew!

DH was amazing at doing everything while I was in bed for three months with nausea but men don't always see the clutter I find.

I went to H&M and got some seriously soft and comfortable maternity jeans and denim cut offs, I love them. I also went a bit mad in Primarni on the Breton tops and T-shirts, it's so nice to finally feel comfortable in what I'm wearing.

I'm going to create a new thread about whether it's too early to start the nursery, I'm only 18+2 but I won't have the time or the energy to do it how I want when I'm back at school in September doing 50 hour weeks and visiting mum in hospital (she's got cancer) 3 hours away, every weekend.
I just think now I've go the energy, I should go for it but I worry about jumping the gun for obvious reasons.
What do you all think, are any of you starting to decorate your nursery now?
Thanks in advance, mad nesting woman :)
