Welcome Livvy

I thought I could feel movement up near my belly button last weekend, but nothing since. I also feel less bumpy and more podgy! 20 week scan next weds so am just hoping everything is ok. I'm feeling a bit anxious for the first time about it, I think just because I'm in that in between stage of feeling well again but not any movement. Seems far more than 5 weeks since my last scan!

duxb · 07/07/2016 13:51

Anterior placenta here too - I'm 19+5 and can't feel anything yet.

On all the scans she has been a real wriggler so I'm hoping it won't be too long - will be lovely to have that additional reassurance

Despite our private gender scan, I'm now finding myself nervous for my nhs 20 week scan on monday. We saw her open her hand on the gender scan, saw her feet and her ribs etc but I'm still nervous about the detailed scan and anything it may pop up. I feel so connected to her already - praying everything is perfect!

www.scarymommy.com/mom-mesh-diaper-photo-viral/?utm_source=FB an amusing post about what it actually looks like post birth Grin

Babydreaming · 07/07/2016 17:28

I can happily say I'm definitely feeling movements now at 17w3. At first they were just when I laid down and really concentrated on my tummy but get little kicks through the day now :) I'm quite skinny. I can identify where the movement is and when I put my hand on my lower belly I can feel the vibration on the surface! I was getting anxious but they came eventually! I'm getting married this weekend...luckily the wedding dress still fits!!

becciandbump · 07/07/2016 17:52

Have had loads of stretchy pains today tummy felt like it was going to burst felt so tight! I just can't imagine how it must feel when u are really big I feel huge ready but know that I'm not really x

becciandbump · 07/07/2016 17:54

babydreaming have an amazing wedding!! X

goinggrey1978 · 07/07/2016 18:25

My 16 weeks midwife appointment went well, no diabetes and no anaemia, just got rhesus negative blood, got to get an injection in September and another when bubble arrives too

SouthDownsSunshine · 07/07/2016 18:32

space I'm so glad you posted that poster. We just don't have sufficient training to 'read' the heartbeat ourselves. My sister was rushed in for ELCS after a midwife picked up concerns with baby's heartbeat. If she'd had listened on a home doopler she would have had false reassurance.

Bigfam · 07/07/2016 18:38

Babydreaming have a lovely time on your special day, wishing you and your soon to be husband all the best for the future Smile

I only feel her moving when I'm laying down and if I put my hand there she stops, only to start again when I move it!

LittleBear01 · 07/07/2016 18:56

Have you all tried the remote control trick? Lay down/slouch down and rest remote control on bump. When baby kicks, the remote control moves! It's amazing, especially as the kicks are only little ones at the moment. Very special to show my husband Smile

livelyredjellybean · 08/07/2016 07:14

Not read the entire thred but now a little worried that I havent had a 16 week MW appointment.... Had a 12 week scan and nothing else scheduled until my next scan which is at roughly 22 weeks I think!! Should I be seeing my MW before then??

DartmoorDoughnut · 08/07/2016 07:41

Yes jelly but you have to phone to make the appt in my experience Flowers they make the next one at that appt here though which is at 24weeks but that varies from trust to trust

SpaceDinosaur · 08/07/2016 07:56

You're welcome sunshine
I thought long and hard because I'm not a midwife and didn't want to come across as "preachy" Blush
But I've been told it by 6 individual midwives. Independently of each other. So I shared.

I am LOVING the idea of the remote control trick.
That's my evening sorted!!! Grin

DartmoorDoughnut · 08/07/2016 08:32

You can also try it with a box of malteasers, I balanced a box on my bump last time and rewarded myself with one every time the box moved ... This may explain the weight gain Grin

Bigfam · 08/07/2016 09:54

18 weeks today. From my pregnancy ap- Head to bottom, your baby is more than 14cm long, about the length of a bell pepper. She weighs around 190g.

I found a tape measure, she's massive!! I'm afraid the malteasers are a no go here. They seem to disappear....

lilydaisyrose · 08/07/2016 10:01

18w today here too Bigfam - 14cm is massive, I agree! That's just under the size of a small ruler - and 14cm is only the crown to bum length too - legs are extra!

We're off strawberry picking today (school hols here).

Bigfam · 08/07/2016 10:07

I used the tape measure against my bump and for how small it seems I can't figure out where's she's hiding. Starting to feel real now!

Enjoy your day lilydaisyrose Smile

SouthDownsSunshine · 08/07/2016 11:06

Apparently mine is 6 inches at 19 weeks. My baby has definitely had a growth spurt this week, my bump has noticeably grown and I've had almost constant ligament pain. And the kicks have got much stronger :)

stripeyorangesocks71 · 08/07/2016 12:09

Anyone else experiencing strange dreams yet? I dreamt I had given birth to quadruplets, all healthy two girls two boys...
From my scans I only think there's one baby in there!!

Smile something to make you smile!

DartmoorDoughnut · 08/07/2016 12:54

I had a massively odd dream last night! I'd given birth - in Australia?! - to a girl and my DH wanted to name her Emlyn? So I was running away with her and shouting at him that he wasn't going to name her after a mining dragon Grin I woke up feeling very annoyed with him Grin

stripeyorangesocks71 · 08/07/2016 13:10

Haha that does sound strange! And glad it's not only me with the weird dreams!

lilydaisyrose · 08/07/2016 13:10

I can't figure out where mine is hiding either. I'm a size 22 anyway and carry a lot of weight around my tummy, I'm just generally bigger and don't really have a defined bump. I am much bigger above my bellybutton than I used to be and can only assume that 'stuff' (fat and organs?!?) has been displaced and moved up as if anything, I'm eating a lot less than I used to and think top of uterus is still just below bellybutton.

OP posts:
Thisisbonkers · 08/07/2016 17:17

I prone to mad dreams anyway, but they've been utterly bonkers recently!

bumbleclat · 08/07/2016 18:04

Oh wow! I haven't wanted to speak too soon but it's 6pm and I don't feel the slightest bit nauseous or tired despite a 50 hour week at school!
I haven't taken my anti nausea tablets for four days now maybe just maybe, at 16+2 I am over the worst period of my life the constant nausea, constipation, fatigue, depression?
Horray!!
I'm off to buy maternity jeans tomorrow happy weekend every body! Smile
