Hi all,
So nice, interesting and helpful to read everyone's messages - and so sorry to those who have had bad news recently.
I haven't posted on here in ages (foolishly awaiting an answer to a question on the last thread then belatedly realised it closed at 1000 posts - I swear I used to be intelligent pre-pregnancy). I've since had my booking appointment and now have one week to go until my 12 week scan. I have a few questions, if anyone has a minute...
From my booking appointment I've been referred to an obstetrician because I have endometriosis and last year had surgery for it. At the moment my birth choices have been put down as tbc (ideally I want the local birth centre but am wondering if they might make me go to the delivery suite instead). Does anyone else have endo, or had a similar referral, or given birth relatively recently after surgery? I'm seeing the OB in August so I know they can answer these questions then too but forewarned is forearmed, and all that!
I've also been referred to the perinatal mental health midwife team because of a past history of anorexia. I've been well for 7 years and haven't encountered problems since then - in fact I've been the healthiest I've ever been - but when the midwife asked how I was now I was honest and said I was slightly struggling with the bodily changes (I was NOT ready for a bump at 9 weeks!). I think the referral was a given due to my past though I do feel a bit fraudulent now. If anyone else has had a similar referral for past stuff, I'd love to hear from you.
A bump at 9 weeks - why does no one warn you! I'm 11 weeks now and am having to get very creative with undone trousers and clothing...
One final thing - I've been feeling so optimistic about the pregnancy, particularly having seen a healthy heartbeat at 7 weeks, but now the scan is approaching the doubts are coming back and I've got the fear I've told too many people, made too many plans, got too excited etc. I've had no bad symptoms, no bleeding, my bump is growing, I feel sick as hell ... but the worry is normal, right?
