Thread #7 - TTC#1 Grads - Third Trimester Special

PotatosMum · 01/06/2016 12:38

It's time for another TTC#1 grads thread, with an ever increasing population of new arrivals, old hands and veterans we're moving thick and fast.

The first TTC#1 veterans are waddling their way into the third trimester this thread, with the promise of maternity leave to come, getting them through the day.

No subject is taboo, no TMI is too much, bump pictures, baby scans and photos of cute baby stuff are encouraged.

All are welcome so take your place on team blue, pink or vanilla for another TTC#1 grads thread!

Good luck, Potato!

Lauren Fingers crossed these baby's start making themselves known soon!

PotatosMum · 06/06/2016 07:37

Yay! I've got here early and got the first ticket. With any luck that means I can go home early too Grin

Woop fingers crossed Potato. Try not to think about food, it doesn't help.

PotatosMum · 06/06/2016 08:03

Just had the glucose drink, I thought it tasted like a very sugary lime cordial so wasn't too bad. From what the nurses were saying most people try to drink the whole thing in one and that why it makes them feel sick where as I just sipped it slowly. But then maybe I'm just really tolerant of sugary stuff BlushWink

Hope you get good news today potatoes

shelbTa · 06/06/2016 08:08

Morning ladies

Good luck with test potato.

Nice bump bunch!

Baby monitors - is anyone getting that one that's a bit like a sheet and goes under baby, then if they stopped breathing etc it would go off? Forget what it's called, think it's the Angelcare one.

T3 for me today, shhhiiiiiiittttttttt! Also cos it's so hot, first day commuting without a coat or anything so bump fully on show, feel quite exposed Confused.

X

shelbTa · 06/06/2016 08:09

Congrats on boy too canters! Sorry so much to catch up on.

LillianFullStop · 06/06/2016 08:09

Good luck today potato!!!

LillianFullStop · 06/06/2016 08:11

Wow congrats on T3 today shelba!!!

leoniethelioness · 06/06/2016 08:15

Shelb No coat or cardigan here either for the train. Feeling very conspicuous! Think I'll put the cardigan on before I go into the office... After almost fainting the other week I'm trying to stay as cool as possible. Drank a lot of water before I left the house so God help me if my train is delayed.

Canters Welcome! 💙💙💙💙💙💙

PotatosMum · 06/06/2016 08:18

Shelb woohoo! For T3!!! Grin I'm not getting the angel care movement sensor but I am getting the Motorola equivalent. When I was looking at the angel care one one I read reviews that said it was a bit fiddly to turn off at night and a lot of people ended up setting it off when they picked baby up in a bit of a sleep haze.
The Motorola one is separate from the monitor but you just press a button on the side of the cot to turn it off.

Morning!

Good luck with the test Potato, and with hopefully getting some house related news!

Yeah for T3 Shelb! Smile

For the baby monitor, I read a lot of reviews like that Potato, but my friend who has one had had various other brands which had all broken within the first 12 months, and the Motorola was the only one that worked properly. I figure if it breaks we will just return it as faulty.

Mileymoocow · 06/06/2016 08:57

Morning all, congrats on team blue canters!

We're getting the Motorola monitor too Smile read good reviews.

Had a bit of a hectic weekend and am now shattered at work. Finding it uncomfortable to sit at my desk especially considering I've had a porridge pot and an eat natural nut bar already this morning and am feeling particularly bloated Blush

Eeeeek shelb! Another T3! Just 6 weeks til I'm there. Won't be long until we have our first birth Grin so excited

PotatosMum · 06/06/2016 09:01

Oh my god I'm so bored... This two hour wait is a killer Sad

Welcome to T3 Shelb. Smile

That's the monitor I've got Shelb. The Angel care sound and movement. It's a hard pad not a sheet that goes under the mattress and it involves a smidgen of diy as needs to be sat on a hard surface like plywood not slats. I've got my DF on the case. I got it for a steal on eBay. It's £75 on Amazon and I paid £35 for an unused one on eBay. Slightly concerned it's been half inched but hey ho. The alarm is LOUD! They'll be no missing that if baby stops breathing.

How you feeling Potato? I felt rotten, binding do well hungry. Quite jealous you got a lime one. Mine was a hideous faux orange thing that felt like the consultancy of gaviscon.

I've just sorted all the baby clothes into colour piles left to wash (other than blankets and slings) and I'm now massively resisting the urge to wash it all now. Must resist. Still have 9 weeks to go!!

Bunch I'm struggling with energy now. Feeling really weak, having a hot flush and just want to close my eyes. I've got a cereal bar in my bag to eat the moment I have my blood test otherwise I'm not sure I'd make it to the car!
I'm glad I didn't get the orange one, I hate orange so it would have made me gag. Luckily I like lime Smile

I'm starting to wonder if I should start washing baby stuff. I'm still a bit paranoid that Potato will be early and I don't want to be caught on the hop. I want to pack mine and potato's hospital bag tonight Smile

PotatosMum · 06/06/2016 09:41

There's a woman sat next to me eating crisps.... I want to kill her Angry

OP posts:
BunchOfBobs · 06/06/2016 09:50

Haha potato do. You're well within your pregnant woman rights. Grin

I'm itching to have it all done but I have no idea what I will have to occupy me once it's done. I've still got loads of harem pants to sew and I have my overlocking fixed now so that'll be much quicker. And I've got embroidery left but it's not much really.

I can't pack my bag fully until I have my maternity pads, quiz books for DH and nursing bras so it won't be fully finished until 37 weeks but I have the rest of it all ready and piled up together.

Laurenrl · 06/06/2016 11:06

bunch you are so organised!

Hang in there potato it will all be over soon!

Congrats on team blue canters. Blue must be catching up now!

We haven't had a newbie for a while are people still being directed here from ttc1?

Just had my 24 week gp appointment, in love with my doctor he's super handsome git my mat b 1 form to give to work which feels very real! He said I have low blood pressure, low vit d and low blood sugar so I'm within the realms of healthy but am likely to be prone to fainting etc! Joy!

I measure a week fatter/bumppier at 25cm when I'm almost 24 weeks! Baby J's heartbeat is perfect :)

Hope everyone had a lovely weekend, I'm now on the train to work in central London eating a chocolate cake which I know is probably not what my gp would have advised having just left haha

Mileymoocow · 06/06/2016 11:10

I don't think we get the diabetes test either. Luckily, I think, cause if I had to go without food for that long heads would roll.

I can't wait to start washing things potato but I'm on maternity from 37ish weeks so will need something to occupy my time. I say go for it if baby potato might be an early arrival Grin

StarkyTheDirewolf · 06/06/2016 12:21

lauren all bfp'ers are invited over, there hasn't been any bfp's for a little while and I'm thinking I should probably hand over the reigns to one of the other girls there because I must be getting on some nerves I'm sure.

BunchOfBobs · 06/06/2016 12:30

Potato how are you now? All fed I hope.

Oh god look at my washing line. Why oh why do I have these monstrosities on show in front of my "look I wet the bed" waterproof mattress protector. Jeeze pregnancy is glamorous.

PotatosMum · 06/06/2016 12:34

Bunch Luckily crisp eater was called a couple of minutes before I snapped!

I think you're leading the pack on the organised front.
I don't mind having everything done early as the last couple of weeks are hopefully going to be mental with the move.

Speaking of which. We're not going to hear from the mortgage company until Friday Angry

Lauren I noticed we've stopped getting newbies recently. I don't drop into the TTC thread anymore but I know Stark and a couple of others do so I assumed it was going through a dry patch.

If eat as much cake as possible if I were you, after all, you have low blood sugar Wink

Miley I think I'm going to leave the baby wash for 3 more weeks until I'm on maternity and have nothing better to do Wink

News just in. OHs property will complete next week!!! Woohoo! This means we'll have access to most of our deposit and be able to clear all of our debts... I haven't been debt free since I was 18, it's very exciting Grin

OP posts:
PotatosMum · 06/06/2016 12:40

Stark that's why I left the TTC thread. I was certain I was driving people crazy talking about morning sickness and being all pregnant so I decided it was time to move on Sad
I was actually thinking last night that in a few weeks I'm going to have to hand this thread over when we have enough actual babies for a post labour thread Shock scary!!! So if you miss the responsibility of remembering to set up a new thread... Wink

Bunch that is an impressively embarrassing washing line, well done Wink

OP posts:
StarkyTheDirewolf · 06/06/2016 12:44

potato you're doing so well to stay so calm re the mortgage even though it's doing your head in! Well done! Call it patience practice for when there's a little chiplet keeps waking up in the night? Grin

Was supposed to be going maternity clothes shopping this afternoon but Dh had his back car window put through this weekend so we cant drive the car anywhere non urgent in case of tug from police/it gets nicked as autoglass can't repair till tomorrow! We shall go another day this week! I only need a couple of things really, some leggings and long tops, I've no bump in fairness but I'm uncomfortable in jeans and all my summer clothing is tiny and inappropriate with monster baps! And my waist/hips seem to have spread! And I want some big knickers! Grin

I'm hoping I get a bit more of a feel for being pregnant soon, it still seems like some abstract far off thing that hasn't happened to me yet.
