PotatosMum · 01/06/2016 12:38

It's time for another TTC#1 grads thread, with an ever increasing population of new arrivals, old hands and veterans we're moving thick and fast.

The first TTC#1 veterans are waddling their way into the third trimester this thread, with the promise of maternity leave to come, getting them through the day.

No subject is taboo, no TMI is too much, bump pictures, baby scans and photos of cute baby stuff are encouraged.

All are welcome so take your place on team blue, pink or vanilla for another TTC#1 grads thread!

Potato very exciting news re OH flat. Well done on holding it together re the mortgage. Roll in Friday. I nearly fell apart this morning when I discovered DH hadn't re filled the ice trays and I wanted an iced coffee. Honestly it feels like he does it on purpose. I very nearly had a full crying fit then managed to pull myself together and text him about his almost death/divorce. My hormones don't seem to be tolerating him lately, poor fella. He's done nothing wrong most of the time but god he's annoying me.

Cracking washing line isn't it Grin DH looked horrified when I pulled those monsters out of their packet. "Why are they so BIG" ha.

Starky I find H&M maternity tops are really good and I've been rather comfortable in M&S shorts in a couple of sizes bigger. You get them in packs of 4 or 5. My newest space hopper sized pants are from Primark and I've yet to test them, though they are for after the main event. You'll find most shops don't really stock maternity wear, utter sods. Very frustrating. And what a shitter about DHs window.
Once you feel some movements it really begins to feel real. Count yourself lucky if you're not feeling too pregnant though, a lack of symptoms is lovely. I had a symptom free beginning, I'm in mourning for that time. Now it's a world of aches and pains and cramps. I feel very pregnant. Swings and roundabouts though.

Laurenrl · 06/06/2016 16:08

stark you'll feel it soon! I don't even feel the baby yet but I hit 20 weeks and felt the weight of it for sure! Buying some bigger stuff might make it feel more real.

My cat is sick again so I'm leaving work and we are off to the vets again. It's probably just an irritated stomach from last weeks tablets and my bank account really can't take the third trip in a month before a baby but i can't deal with him suffering!

Also massively hormonal and all directed at OH bunch I've just cried for an hour as my cat was being sick as I felt so bad from him then when my OH wouldn't leave work half an hour early to come home to take him to the vets so I didn't have to again he got the full 6 month pregnant Lauren wrath!
Having an ice lolly now to cool off haha

Sodasoda · 06/06/2016 16:28

starky if it helps it didn't feel real to me til I got a bump (around week 20 I popped out) and I had my 20 week scan. Movement also helps a lot. Baby had a quiet day yesterday so DH spoke to my bump and got a swift kick in the face! That's the sort of thing that makes it very real! Grin

Just had a call from the hospital and I have a UTI AGAIN! I'm being put on preventative antibiotics for rest of pregnancy. I feel like my body is letting me down - firstly by getting these infections and secondly by not actually giving me any symptoms so I don't know I have one! Sad

Fingers crossed for you on the mortgage potato

I haven't come from the TTC thread - I'm just a random imposter Grin Was looking to join a nice thread with a bunch of first timers and consider myself very lucky to have found you lot Smile

Mileymoocow · 06/06/2016 16:55

potato I know it's not the news you're desperate for but at least it's good news Grin finally some movement. Hopefully you'll know fully by Friday.

stark I'm a little jealous of your lack of symptoms. Hoping you have an epic bump soon though so it finally feels real.

Home from day from hell. Sitting in the garden overheating because I'm too lazy to get off the sun lounger. Only 22+2 and already getting backache Hmm I'm guessing I'm in for a treat as boob's are up to an E cup which definitely isn't helping.

LillianFullStop · 06/06/2016 17:48

soda we are happy to have you!

stark once the clothes get snug and the bras overflow the pregnancy will be undeniable!

miley same here on the back pain! Spent some time in the park to enjoy the sun and just 10 minutes on by back on a blanket over grass and I was in pain for the rest of the day. I have to be more conscious about laying on my side but I can't very well bring a pregnancy pillow to the park... or can I? Hmmmmm...

PotatosMum · 06/06/2016 20:30

I am anything but calm regarding our mortgage. We've had some bad news this evening, we're not out of the race yet but it is looking less likely we're going to come out ok. Feeling very stressed and very worried, so is OH.

Stark Sorry about your car window.

Lauren sorry your cat's poorly Sad

Soda oh no, not another UTI!!! Hopefully this will be the last one.

It's ok, we don't mind that you snuck on without going through TTC, we like you anyway.

Potato are you okay?Flowers

Laurenrl · 06/06/2016 21:00

Potato wish i could share my left over choc cake from earlier with you! Hope everythings OK and I'm sure everything will work out how they're meant to be x Cake

PotatosMum · 06/06/2016 21:04

I'm ok ladies, just stressed out with the stupid mortgage. They've turned us down on a technicality, we're appealing but it's not looking good Sad

Pinklily1 · 06/06/2016 21:09

Lauren a week "bumpier" made me laugh. All the doctors at my surgery are women or middle aged - there are no hotties to pass the time!

Bunch - are they big knickers for after the birth?! Super sexy Grin.

Soda, that's rubbish about the UTI. Do they know why it keeps coming back? At least they are taking action though to hopefully stop you getting anymore during the pregnancy.

Potato - sorry to hear you've had bad news. Hope you are ok.

We've just come back from our hospital tour. It was good to look around but also scary as it made it feel even more real.

Mileymoocow · 06/06/2016 21:14

potato that's shitty. I still have hope for you, though! Got everything crossed

lauren what is left over cake?!

lillian you definitely have every right to take a maternity pillow everywhere! Pregnancy is an excuse for everything.

Lying in bed little bean prefers it when I'm stretched out so my new bedtime is about half 8! just watched a recorded OBEM from ages ago. No warning of upsetting scenes or anything but there was a prem baby on who didn't make it and I'm absolutely hysterical. I wouldn't have been able to watch it, had I known. Parents were so strong bless them

StarkyTheDirewolf · 06/06/2016 21:14

potato Flowers they're certainly throwing a lot of shit at you guys without much thought for your stress levels! Hope you're ok.

And poor you soda Flowers

miley I think I felt a little pop/kick last night but I can't be sure. I'm trying not to think about it too much!

lil I'm waterlogged again because of the heat so I think I've swelled up today! I only eat salt on a Sunday so I'm always bloated on a Monday! I'm excited a bit hopefully finding some bits to were though!

bunch excellent tips thank you! Hadn't thought of h&m and I hinkthere's a massive one in Manchester.

Mileymoocow · 06/06/2016 21:15

pink what did you think? I like the idea of having our own room etc.

BunchOfBobs · 06/06/2016 21:27

So sorry to hear that Potato. Fingers crossed for you here, I really hope it works out.

Yup Pink they're my mega pants for maternity nappies and incase of c section wound.

Miley was that the young couple from Anglesey? I was a wreck watching it. They were so strong.

Laurenrl · 06/06/2016 21:27

Sorry soda I forgot to say sorry about your Uti, weird you don't feel them, they really hurt me. I'm glad they're preventing it going forward.

pink haha i text my mum and said the extra week of bump had better be Domino's and not a huge baby

miley I know I'm amazed at myself making a piece of cake last all day, my appetites all over the place!

potato we were turned down on a technicality (my bf applied for a credit card 3 years ago and accidentally put the wrong addressed and so was rejected) our broker said we had no other options I went straight to my bank and they approved us in 3 days! So don't lose hope you have other options!

I second the h&m tops and their jeans, I'm only wearing h&m stuff and my baggier pretty pregnant clothes at the minute

Pinklily1 · 06/06/2016 21:33

Miley - we actually went to look around the RVI as we are going to change hospitals. I'm still registered at Cramlington but the midwife is going to swap me over this week. Primarily because they have a lot more pools available for water births at the RVI. I know it will depend on how busy it is at the time I go into labour, but I want to up the chances as much as possible! Seems a daft reason in a way, but distance wise it is six and two threes for us as well.

The birthing centre at the RVI is lovely, so I am hoping that the rest of my pregnancy is low risk so that that's an option. Its very modern, and I imagine very much like Cramlington would be. The delivery suite, which is where you go if you need a c-section, have a high risk pregnancy or any complications, is quite tired and in need of a revamp, so i'm hoping we can avoid that part as if that happened I'd wish I'd gone to Cramlington!

Mileymoocow · 06/06/2016 21:37

bunch I think so. Her waters went at 18 weeks and she was in hospital for 4 weeks I think before giving birth. God I'm still sobbing, I have no idea how they stayed so strong.

Has anyone thought about pain relief? I have no idea what I want. I'm also genuinely shitting a brick over having to have a c section and also suffering post natal depression. I need to learn not to worry.

Mileymoocow · 06/06/2016 21:40

pink coming from a friend who's sister is a paediatrician at the RVI, I've heard it's actually better than Cramlington! Smile she tried to get me to change my mind, but I'm not sure I'm keen on driving an extra 20 mins when in labour or I definitely would have.

Pinklily1 · 06/06/2016 21:47

I'd also read quite mixed reviews of Cramlington online if i'm honest, but they I know a friend of a friend who had a baby there and said it was wonderful. Its so hard to know what to do, I don't think there is any right decision really.

For pain relief, my aim is a water birth with gas and air. Which means I'll probably end up with an EMCS or something!! I've got a strong fear that baby will be breech, only because she was at 20 week scan. I know they turn lots between then and full term, but it does worry me a bit that she'll be naughty and lie the wrong way.

Co5mo · 06/06/2016 22:25

Oh that's rubbish Potato. I hope you can get it sorted.

Pain relief...I'm asking for remifentanyl. Can't stand the idea of an epidural but I'm a wimp so remifentanyl is the next best thing.

Saturday's Primark shop went well. I spent over £50! I got pretty much everything I wanted except for big pants. I couldn't imagine what size I'll be and need. Decidedto get them later on. The maternity bras aren't exactly stunning but they'll do the job and such good value.

Sodasoda · 06/06/2016 23:02

Thanks starky and potato. Pink - they did a kidney scan the other week and one of my kidneys isn't draining very well. Apparently quite common in pregnancy as everything gets squashed. lauren - I know, it's odd, I've been in agony with UTIs before pregnancy. They told me it's not unusual to have no symptoms as everything 'relaxes' down below....

Really sorry about the mortgage news potato. As others have said, don't lose hope.

starky - new look also do a decent maternity range but it's mainly online, hardly anything in the shops.

Been visiting one of my best friends tonight who had a baby last week so had lovely newborn cuddles, was amazing! She was hugely keen on very natural birth, did hypno birthing etc, and ended up having an emergency C section under GA. She's doing great though but I'm not going to have a hugely detailed plan on birth and pain relief etc because you just don't know what's going to happen at the time. Hoping for as natural as possible though.

Thanks everyone for adopting me Wink

PotatosMum · 07/06/2016 00:24

Miley I know exactly the OBEM episode you're talking about and it was horrible Sad only one I've seen like that.

I'm planning on gas and air. I survived the fibroid pain just on nothing but paracetamol and that supposed to be as bad.

Lauren funnily enough our technicality is address related. OH never bothered changing his postal address from his old place (which he bloody owns) so they're refusing us because they can't prove he lived here last year. Hmm

So anyway, here I am, lying awake worrying about mortgages. I'm going to be really stroppy tomorrow and won't be able to enjoy my scan as I'm over tired but every time I try and sleep my brain starts trying to come up with an ingenious plan... So far they've all sucked Hmm oh and it's hot and Potato keeps pressing on my bladder... I'm not happy Sad

BunchOfBobs · 07/06/2016 06:02

Miley yep that was the one. It was awful. I was inconsolable.** I can highly recommend you read the book mindful hypnobirthing by Sophie fletcher. I was bricking it about the birth and now I'm looking forward to it. Even if you don't plan on using hypnobirthing it was a great book just to change my mindset about it.
Because of hypno and my mum I'm hoping for a completely natural water birth. I don't like feeling out of control and all drugs sound like I'd hate them. No idea what will happen though so we shall see. C section no longer scares me but I too worry about pnd as I've had a bout of depression in the past. The key is to have a support network around you who can help you and spot if you're struggling and need to see the GP.

Potato you're kidding?! That's ridiculous surely something can be done in that case. What knobs.

BunchOfBobs · 07/06/2016 06:16

Oops bold fail Blush

PotatosMum · 07/06/2016 06:33

Bunch They say no, if we can't prove the address they're not interested so we've said hang on it was an error. Our mortgage advisor put the wrong year on the paperwork this is technically true from a legal point of view we're waiting to see if the mortgage company believe us and if so if it makes a difference. If not we're going to have to start all over again with a different company and maybe even get OHs dad on the mortgage instead of him which will mean starting a load of the conveyance work over too Sad
