Thread #7 - TTC#1 Grads - Third Trimester Special

PotatosMum · 01/06/2016 12:38

It's time for another TTC#1 grads thread, with an ever increasing population of new arrivals, old hands and veterans we're moving thick and fast.

The first TTC#1 veterans are waddling their way into the third trimester this thread, with the promise of maternity leave to come, getting them through the day.

No subject is taboo, no TMI is too much, bump pictures, baby scans and photos of cute baby stuff are encouraged.

All are welcome so take your place on team blue, pink or vanilla for another TTC#1 grads thread!

Not heard that, Miley. I'm a bit cautious of putting things down there! I don't think there's much you can do about tearing? Seems like if it's going to happen, it'll happen...

Pinklily1 · 02/06/2016 18:34

Miley, I was reading about it the other day - perineal massage. I can't say the idea particularly floats my boat Shock

LisaTheSimpson · 02/06/2016 18:37

Pretty sure I've also heard that, Miley.

Think I read somewhere that is someone massages that bit when you're in labour (partner, midwife, etc.) then it can help reduce tearing....

I know my DH loves me, but... that might be asking a lot...

PotatosMum · 02/06/2016 18:48

May good luck for your Saturday scan.

Bunch glad the Premark diving went well. I think I'm going to have to brave Premark for a couple of cheap nighties for the hospital.

Miley I've never heard the almond oil thing. I think the massage during labour might be a bit much though.

For those of you buying disposable nappies, what brand are you buying? I've bought pampers to start but I'm now wondering whether to try several brands before deciding on one to stick with.

Miley I read into it but read stories of women who didn't tear when they didn't massage but on subsequent labours did etc. So seemed like hit or miss to me.

Typo on my last post. Was meant to say that I love both the book (to kill a mocking bird) and the brand Atticus. Not Bother Blush

Potato I've heard very good things about Aldis mamia range.

StarkyTheDirewolf · 02/06/2016 19:27

Dh has offered to oil me up from day one, it will be his pleasure apparently! Definetly going to do it. See if I can stretch it out a bit beforehand! Grin

Sodasoda · 02/06/2016 19:41

miley a very smug friend of mine did the massage during 3rd trimester and she swears that's why she didn't tear. My other friend who is an obs and gynae doctor says it really doesn't make any difference either way - if you're going to tear you'll tear Hmm But nothing stopping anyone who wants to try it giving it a go Smile

bunch well done braving primark. I'll have to summon up the energy (and courage!) and go myself.

Pinklily1 · 02/06/2016 19:45

I managed to avoid Primark today and got a bikini at Asda instead. I'll brave it another day for nighties etc.

StarkyTheDirewolf · 02/06/2016 19:47

My genuine thought process re perineal massage went thusly... "hmm, tearing, this scares me...porn stars stick properly massive things up their chuffs, they don't tear, there must be something in that...They must practice...hmmm"

BunchOfBobs · 02/06/2016 19:50

Hahahah Starky! Time to get with acquainted a cola bottle? .... Hmm

shelbTa · 02/06/2016 19:50

Jesus Christ, what are we talking about now! Blush I saw some of that oil stuff in boots, I can't bear to think about it.

Is anyone seriously considering using it? Shit, maybe I should too...

StarkyTheDirewolf · 02/06/2016 19:56

bunch I just asked dh if he'd be up for what is tantamount to some gentle fisting, he's in! "Whatever you want babe!" Haha! Grin

Pinklily1 · 02/06/2016 19:56

A cola bottle?! ShockBlush

Pinklily1 · 02/06/2016 19:57

A cola bottle?! ShockBlush

BunchOfBobs · 02/06/2016 20:18

Oh my life I'm proper laughing here.

Ahem Pink yes... I've seen somethings in my time Hmm Still smaller than a babies head!!

Pinklily1 · 02/06/2016 20:22

Oh god Bunch, that's a very good point. I'm a bit traumatised!

Danni89 · 02/06/2016 20:28

I think I'm up for considering anything!

I've heard raspberry leaf tea is great... 2 cups a day from 32 weeks, then ramp it up to 3 cups from 38 weeks.. Quicks labours (apparently Confused) I'll leave you to do your own research

Sodasoda · 02/06/2016 20:34

Am having a right good giggle at this and DH is asking what I'm laughing at. He says he's 'happy to massage any bit of me I'd like' Ha ha! GrinGrin

shelbTa · 02/06/2016 20:42

I've just asked my OH - it was a no!! Grin not a surprise really seen as how he still won't sleep with me for 'fear of harming the baby'!

Crashing in with a place mark during a conversation that I really need to scroll back on for context. Cola bottles?!?!

Planet, 30, 20+5 with a little wriggler currently called Pancake, and teamless for another 8 days. Can't wait to find out what we're having.

Need to catch up properly, but might wait till tomorrow. Having my first proper hormonal madwoman day today (cried 4 times at my desk, my team think I'm mental) and think probably best for all if I have some chips and a v early night! Urgh!

Hope everyone's doing ok.

BunchOfBobs · 02/06/2016 20:52

Danni I plan on asking my midwife at my next appointment if I can have raspberry leaf tea as its only 2 weeks away for me. Also plan on eating 6 dates a day from 36 weeks. No harm in trying.

Mileymoocow · 02/06/2016 21:12

I once saw a woman push out a huge watermelon with little to no trouble. I will admit I had a similar thought stark. Time to go to asda...

I'm gonna try the oil rub. Or more like OH is going to because I don't want to massage my own bum hole.

leoniethelioness · 02/06/2016 21:12

Planet Flowers Hope you're doing alright.

BunchOfBobs · 02/06/2016 21:27

Oh god it gets better. A watermelon Miley?! That's what we've got to push out. I most definitely don't fancy practising to that level.
I'm swollen and tender enough down there!!

I think we all may have some freaky dreams of we continue along this line of conversation at bed time Hmm

LisaTheSimpson · 02/06/2016 21:50

The football is all over, so I'm off to bed now.

Sweet dreams, everyone.... Wink
