PotatosMum · 01/06/2016 12:38

It's time for another TTC#1 grads thread, with an ever increasing population of new arrivals, old hands and veterans we're moving thick and fast.

The first TTC#1 veterans are waddling their way into the third trimester this thread, with the promise of maternity leave to come, getting them through the day.

No subject is taboo, no TMI is too much, bump pictures, baby scans and photos of cute baby stuff are encouraged.

All are welcome so take your place on team blue, pink or vanilla for another TTC#1 grads thread!

Morning!

Place marking. 34, team pink at 27+2.

Nice bit of insomnia for me last night, can't wait for mega day at work now! Starving too.

Waves to everyone, will catch up properly at some point.

X

Nevlet · 02/06/2016 07:30

Shelb feel for you on the insomnia I cant remember the last night I slept properly!

Leonie yes we know we are having a boy! Ironically before we found out he is a he we had lots of girls names and were dead set on woody for a boy. But now we just can't seem to settle!

PotatosMum · 02/06/2016 07:53

Morning ladies, how are you all today?

Feef I've updated the list with your new date but I'll wait until we have a couple of updates before I post it (as its so bloody long now Smile)
Try not to stress about getting fat. It's only temporary and there really is nothing we can do about it Confused

I think when we roll over to having had our babies we'll have to start our own little diet group... Swap bump pictures for disappearing bump pictures Grin

Oh god Bunch the your chin bit made me laugh!
What the heck is up with the piling weight on your chin anyway? The last two weeks I've suddenly developed a rather unattractive double chin. I hope it disappears after the baby weight goes! Shock

My feet are fine at the moment, my shoulders, back, hips and knees however are another story. Confused

So last night I had some lovely anxiety dreams featuring worry about the house, worry about the baby and worry about being out of control... I also had to get up for a snack at 1am as I woke up famished!!

This morning Potato reacted to sound for the first time by getting extremely stroppy when her dads alarm went off lol! She's now gone back to sleep Smile

Is anyone else trying to retrain while they're on maternity leave? I've signed up for two free courses in my chosen profession last night just to kick start me. OH and I were talking last night and discussed the fact that if when we get the mortgage we're going to try to pay it off early as possible by knocking off a couple of years every time we remortgage... This however requires me to go back to working full time once Potato's in school... I don't fancy going back to working full time in a job that I don't really care about so I've got to get my bum in gear!!

Morning everyone. Had awful nights sleep. DH woke me at 3am as I was 'snoring like a walrus'. Baby then woke up and started kicking me as if to say 'get lost dad' and we didn't get back to sleep for another 2 hours Angry

Just at hospital now seeing kidney doctor about my infection that won't go. I've then got midwife at midday so hopefully I can fit in a nap - thankfully working from home today!

Sodasoda · 02/06/2016 08:05

Some lovely bumps ladies! And really lovely names! I particularly love Theo bit unfortunately DH is not as keen as me so it's not on the list - that's our problem with boys names, just can't agree on one we both love!

No sore feet here bunch but I am getting a stitch like pain in my lower groin if I walk much. Plus bad calf cramps in the morning Sad

Pinklily1 · 02/06/2016 08:27

I love love love Arlo! OH flat out refused to have that as a boys name though Hmm I've got time to wear him down in case baby number two is a boy!

Nev, my friend had a list along your lines and she also had Hunter, Rocco and Atticus on the list. Is Asa for a girl or boy?

There are so many name options aren't there? Omits scary to think we are naming a human for the rest of their lives!

Pinklily1 · 02/06/2016 08:32

Sorry Nev, I just read you are Team Blue, so Asa is obviously for a boy - it's too early for my brain to function properly!

Sorry to hear of the insomnia Shelb and everyone's aches and pains. I'm doing ok generally, although I'm definitely feeling more tired now.

I'm going to brave Primark today for a holiday bikini, so might have a look at big granny knickers and nighties too for hospital. So glamorous Hmm

Nevlet · 02/06/2016 08:39

Haha thats ok pink we do like more unusual and unisex names. I have only known Addison and Harper as girls names but OH loves them for a boy! Our top choice is Reef but our friends had a boy in January and thats his name.

Co5mo · 02/06/2016 08:59

Retrain...maybe not but it has got me thinking about resurrecting a previous idea to generate a little pocket money. Let me just get past the million Elijah Elephants I have to knit for friends new babies and I might get on with it.

I'm hitting Primark at 8am on Saturday morning. Can't bare the place after 9am at a weekend. I get frustrated with the mess.

BunchOfBobs · 02/06/2016 09:03

Nev our taste in names is very similar.
We love Harper too but are leaning towards Atticus. Eek I just typed it.
I also have Hamish, Caius, Cash, Bronson, Rex and Huxley on the list.

Atticus is my first choice though but Hamish has been on the list the longest. DH isn't sure on Bronson for the criminal link but I quite like it.

Ahhh I feel so exposed with my list all typed up.

Potato not sure why the chins but it's the first place I put weight on whether pregnant or not.

Soda I had another night of calf cramps, I knew I should have had a banana before bed!!

Pink snap on braving Primark today. I'm off to the Liverpool store with my mum to do the nightie and giant pants buy. It's my fave Primark store, I find it better than Oxford Street.

Pip had an almighty 4.30am dance party. My bump was bouncing all over the place. He's got so much stronger recently and you can't help but see it through my clothes now.

Nevlet · 02/06/2016 09:11

Bunch i love love love Atticus! My oldest friend has that picked out if she ever has a boy and I don't think I could steal it from her!

Laurenrl · 02/06/2016 09:14

Personally, I like woody and Addison best nev

Hamish is really cute bunch! I like atticus too, it was mark hoppus' brand that he set up when blink 182 split and I had loads of atticus Tees.

Didn't sleep until 3am and have a client meeting today, feel and look like Crap!

Not sure about retraining potato as my degree is pretty generic (business studies) , but am thinking I might do an industry or role change when it's time to come back to. Work!

PotatosMum · 02/06/2016 09:50

Soda sorry you had a rubbish night, hope the kidney appointment goes well.

All you ladies going to Premark are very brave. I haven't been there in years but keep thinking that I'm going to have to sooner or later Sad

Good to see I'm not the only one thinking of doing something different after the baby. I think I'd like to keep working a "normal" job part time and run my own business the rest of the time. Hopefully I can make enough that OH will agree to me not going back full time Wink

Pinklily1 · 02/06/2016 09:55

Love Atticus Bunch!

For the Primark stuff, are you just going to get a few sizes bigger than normal?

Sodasoda · 02/06/2016 10:37

Thanks potato. Kidney infection has finally cleared up. Kidney scan shows one kidney which is quite a bit larger than it should be but it can apparently be quite common in pregnancy as everything gets squashed Hmm So have a repeat scan in a month but I'm in the clear for now.

bunch is it bananas for calf cramps? Potassium right? I've delevoped a real aversion to bananas in pregnancy unfortunately. Used to quite like them!

Atticus is a great name. My favourite book ever is to kill a mockingbird.

When I go to primark I have to go really early - the one near me is such an ordeal to shop in.

Are people thinking of getting something new for actual giving birth? Like primark nightwear?

Pinklily1 · 02/06/2016 11:08

Soda, I'm hoping for a water birth so will just wear a bikini top, however, I've got nothing suitable if a water birth doesn't happen - I wear pj's normally as can't stand nighties. So I'm going to get a cheap nightie from Primark for that and maybe just one for after too - apparently if you end up having a csection nighties are better as there is nothing to press on the stitches then.

LillianFullStop · 02/06/2016 11:23

Nev I love the name Harper - my friend named her daughter Harper and she is the prettiest baby girl!

Nevlet · 02/06/2016 11:38

Thanks lillian I live it too but I worry its too feminine for a boy?

Mileymoocow · 02/06/2016 12:17

There are some really gorgeous names. I'm living Harper and Atticus. We have kids named River, Gage, Cash, Cole and Milo in our family which are pretty unusual bit not too out there. I really wanted a Thea/Theo but couldn't agree at all

I really need to start thinking about granny pants and nighties... siiiiiiiiiigh

Mileymoocow · 02/06/2016 12:36

I keep missing paragraphs out of people's posts I'm sure! soda glad you have a normal kidney now! And brilliant that you're infection free.

potato I hope your anxiety buggers off when you get your mortgage agreement through. It's dragging on a bit, and not doing you any good. I'm not retraining but may do a course in management. I have my chemistry degree and thought about doing masters but it's not needed for the route I want to take.

Sorry to everyone having crappy sleeps/feeling crap in general

Pinklily1 · 02/06/2016 13:10

Nev, I would assume Harper was a girl, if I hadn't met him/her, but to be honest that's just because of Harper Beckham and Harper Lee! There's nothing to stop you using it for a boy if you both love it.

mayago · 02/06/2016 16:22

Thanks for the new thread potato

I'm May, 34, and 9+1 with a little grape jellybaby. Have booked a private scan Saturday morning while the parents are visiting, as they live away and I won't see them again now until (fingers crossed) after baby arrives.

Beautiful bumps Lara and Pink!

Some lovely names in this thread as well. OH wants a boy to be Otto, but I'm not warming to it at all. I'm still to grumpy to have a good name discussion with him Blush

LillianFullStop · 02/06/2016 16:25

Nev gender neutral names are lovely! Like Pink If not for Harper Beckham I'd have thought it was a boys name!

BunchOfBobs · 02/06/2016 16:36

Eek thanks ladies, I love the name so much, bother the book and the brand too. Grin

My feet are ruined from today but I had a successful shop. I got a couple of nighties suitable for breastfeeding and in black for the bloodbath aftermath. And a nightie to give birth in. One of them is actually a maternity nightie- go Primark!
Got all my toiletries in mini for the hospital bags, just got to get my maternity pads and washable breast pads that are in my Amazon basket and my hospital bag is done other than snacks and puzzle books for the DH.

I'm hoping for a water birth so will just use one of my triangle bikini tops but I'm now covered for all eventualities- like Pink said, just incase of a C- section.m
Just bought my huge granny pants Miley. They are gawguss. One women next to me in Primark got them out the packet and was all "what they fuck are they". It made me proper chuckle.

Soda that's what I read but salt also helps. Salt also causes water retention so I don't fancy making mine any worse!!

Mileymoocow · 02/06/2016 18:06

Has anyone been recommended almond oil for erm...massaging in to help prevent tearing during labour? My friend has been telling me about it and reckons it works if you rub it in between your lulu and your butt for a few weeks prior to childbirth.
