Thread #7 - TTC#1 Grads - Third Trimester Special

PotatosMum · 01/06/2016 12:38

It's time for another TTC#1 grads thread, with an ever increasing population of new arrivals, old hands and veterans we're moving thick and fast.

The first TTC#1 veterans are waddling their way into the third trimester this thread, with the promise of maternity leave to come, getting them through the day.

No subject is taboo, no TMI is too much, bump pictures, baby scans and photos of cute baby stuff are encouraged.

All are welcome so take your place on team blue, pink or vanilla for another TTC#1 grads thread!

Jam sorry to hear your head is so bad Sad

Thanks Irregular I'm fine, been dealing with mum illness for years, it's just that right now I can't actually do anything for her because I need to look after myself and unfortunately there's no one else to take over.

Pink my next scan is Tuesday. I'm actually excited about this one instead of nervous Grin
My OH is of the same opinion as yours regarding putting things where poo belongs lol.
I had the whooping cough vaccine a while ago, I had no symptoms although I was told I might feel a bit ill. It does sting quite a bit though Hmm

Just got home after dinner in the pub and I'm exhausted!!! I've now officially only got 3 weeks of work left but it's starting to be a struggle not to fall asleep at my desk and working from home is now code for falling asleep on the sofa Hmm

Good haul, Bunch!

Is anyone having a 4D scan? Apparently the best time is around 27 weeks so I've got about four weeks to decide...

leoniethelioness · 03/06/2016 19:07

What crib have you got, Bunch?

Canters15 · 03/06/2016 19:13

Thanks for all the support ladies! I'm on promethazine and it really is helping, I'm eating again! Not 100% but the difference is incredible. How long did you all need to keep taking meds for?

Amazing haul bunch! You must be pretty much sorted now?!

Good luck with the mortgage potato.

Danni89 · 03/06/2016 19:23

leonie... Yes we have one booked for the 18th when I'll be 28 weeks

BunchOfBobs · 03/06/2016 20:06

Yep Canters, just got to dye my terries/Muslins and wipes and buy my washable breast pads and maternity pads. The only thing I'm wondering whether or not I need is a mobile... Anyone have any thoughts?

Leonie it's the mothercare Hyde crib. Got it on eBay for £5.50. Shock Bought a new mattress on Amazon and voila.

Got a swing in the end over a bouncing chair. Mum got all gooey over it in mothercare it's two in one so a rocker and a swing. Half price at the mo but it won't come until the end of the month as its sold out. Grace cozy duet.

Pinklily1 · 03/06/2016 20:07

Canters, so pleased that they are helping a bit.

I gave up on my meds after a few days as they made no difference, but it was cyclezine so not the same as yours.

Nevlet · 03/06/2016 20:27

I want to feel guilty at what I have just accidentally done... Am cooking a wild mushroom and rocket risotto have everything all prepped out on counters just getting going and accidentally picked up the glass of sauv blanc and had a couple of mouthfuls! Realised what I was doing and quickly put it down... Its like I totally forgot Im pg and just went with what used to be normal.

I feel worse that now I really am considering a small glass while I cook Blush

IrregularCommentary · 03/06/2016 20:52

Don't worry Nev - a small glass every so often won't do you or baby any harm. Nothing to feel bad about.

Nevlet · 03/06/2016 20:54

Thanks irregular its more the shock I did it without even thinking about it...!!

IrregularCommentary · 03/06/2016 21:03

Yeah, can definitely imagine that being a bit of an "ooh, shit!" moment!

Nevlet · 03/06/2016 21:05

Haha think it says more about me pre pregnancy i miss wine

IrregularCommentary · 03/06/2016 21:53

It's the crap thing about being pregnant spring/summer isn't it. I just want to be in a beer garden drinking an accidentally inappropriate number of glasses of wine.

Fully intend to leave her with Daddy for the day/evening this time next year and take advantage!

PotatosMum · 03/06/2016 21:59

Hope you enjoyed the pizza Shelb

Impressive haul Bunch

Canters I took the sickness tablets for about a week then reduced to only taking them when I needed to. I was at the tail end of morning sickness when I started taking them though.

Nev a couple of sips isn't the end of the world... I had a sip of OHs ale the other day, I couldn't help myself. I usually hate ale but I was obviously so desperate for alcohol that it taste amazing!

I'm feeling really ropey this evening. There's nothing particularly wrong with me I just have that annoying undefined sense of feeling a bit shit Confused time for sleep I think.

PotatosMum · 04/06/2016 05:17

Morning ladies, how are you all today?

Well obviously I haven't slept too well Hmm but I've woken up and realised that I'm now 28 weeks and officially third trimester! Woohoo!!! Only 12 weeks to go Shock scary

OP posts:
BunchOfBobs · 04/06/2016 07:39

Welcome to T3 potato Grin
30 weeks today here, 10 weeks to go ahhhh!!
Not a great sleep here but mainly because the tiny town I live in had a local wedding so the rather jolly guests had a loud retreat home early hours this morning.

Also is anyone else really suffering with the heat? It's not THAT warm at night but I need the bedroom and bathroom window open and sleeping under a sheet and I'm still too hot.

PotatosMum · 04/06/2016 07:45

Bunch yes to heating problems! It's worse at work for me. I'm usually sat with a cardigan on but the past couple of weeks I've been getting so hot I feel sick! Confused

Congrats on reaching week 30. You really are nearly there!!!

BunchOfBobs · 04/06/2016 07:52

It's feeling like it Potato. My excitement is getting out of control and DH is bricking it more and more. He has been such a commitmaphobe our entire relationship (11 years) took him 8.5 years to propose, he freaked when we got a dog 3 years ago even though we were engaged and owned a house together and now obviously an even bigger change is coming. I don't know how to make it easier for him but I need him not to freak out when Pip arrives. Bloody man child.

Anyone else suffering with terrified menfolk?

shelbTa · 04/06/2016 08:00

Morning ladies

T3 potato, proper upduffed now! I still can't believe we are all here after being on the TTC thread what seems like only a bit ago!

Bunch - no im not that warm really, sure it will kick in though like everything else!

We are off to buy the cot today Grin has anyone else bought an ikea one?

X

Mileymoocow · 04/06/2016 08:02

bunch yay for 30 weeks!!! Not long at all for you now. I'm getting really hot too. I'm usually lizard-like and cold blooded but lately I've been opting for sitting round naked.

22 weeks today, here. Still see myself as newly pregnant, even though I'm 5 months!

canters they did nothing for me but I took the ones that did help a little every single day from about 16 to 20 weeks when I went back to work. Only recently stopped and am coping ok with vomiting a couple of times a day now as opposed to 20 times or more when I was really bad. Hope it eases for you soon.

Lying next to a snoring OH in bed with a snoring dog on the floor and surprisingly don't feel like I want to strangle them both. This is progress.

PotatosMum · 04/06/2016 08:04

I imagine that you'll both be to busy with the baby when it arrives for him to freak out. Don't have a clue what you can do to prevent it though.

Mine has already had two and is taking the commitment side of things in his stride. He's more anxious about me or the baby being poorly. He really worries and becomes very stressed when anyone is ill and needs a lot of reassurance. There is a very good historical reason for this though so it's just something we deal with together.

OP posts:
BunchOfBobs · 04/06/2016 08:10

Yes Shelb we've got the gulliver for attaching to the side of the bed. Putting it up today so I have 7-12 weeks of getting used to get up and around it in the night.

Potato he sounds like a sweetheart.
Me being in pain every day I don't think is helping DH. But it's hard not to yelp or wince. He's just going to have to suck it up.
