Thread #7 - TTC#1 Grads - Third Trimester Special

PotatosMum · 01/06/2016 12:38

It's time for another TTC#1 grads thread, with an ever increasing population of new arrivals, old hands and veterans we're moving thick and fast.

The first TTC#1 veterans are waddling their way into the third trimester this thread, with the promise of maternity leave to come, getting them through the day.

No subject is taboo, no TMI is too much, bump pictures, baby scans and photos of cute baby stuff are encouraged.

All are welcome so take your place on team blue, pink or vanilla for another TTC#1 grads thread!

Bunch - I'd say no as well. You're not being dramatic, you're being cautious. They're different, and you're entirely justified. I wouldn't visit anyone if I was feeling like that, let alone a pregnant woman.

Potato - YAY!!! So, so pleased for you Grin

I'm with Miley - big footie fan so typing this with only half an eye on my phone while I watch the match! We're really lucky that the MD is into football and we're a small company so we've all been given the afternoon off to watch Smile

shelbTa · 16/06/2016 14:17

Yay potato!!! Crack open, the erm, becks blue?!

I'd say no too bunch.

Bought first item for hospital bag - dressing gown! Standard white, covers ass.

X

BunchOfBobs · 16/06/2016 14:20

I've told DH it's a no. He is now thinking of a way to get his DP to come that realisation. I.e he's dragging it out so he can watch the match.

Sodasoda · 16/06/2016 14:29

Hooray potato! Grin So pleased for you!

Dont get me wrong, I'm a big football fan, I just find it tricky to get really excited about England when I've spent most of the season shouting abuse at the players when they're playing against my team!

bunch you're doing the right thing.

Planeteer · 16/06/2016 14:32

Yes Potato!!!!!!

IrregularCommentary · 16/06/2016 14:41

Soda - not sure who you support, but there's a fair amount of abuse being directed at Kane and Sterling over here!

IndiX · 16/06/2016 14:44

Yay potato!! So happy for youGrin

Laurenrl · 16/06/2016 14:59

Yay potato so happy for you

Bunch definite no, pregnancy sucks enough without adding a bug ;) I wouldn't let anyone come near me that had been throwing up (even before pregnancy)

Have you all seen what's just happened to the Labour mp?! The world is a scary place.

Evergreen17 · 16/06/2016 15:06

Congratulations Potato!

Ok so I saw my bean Smile
Just a black spot but lady said there was a pregnancy sack and it was in the right place (I asked, thanks Google for my ectopic searches Hmm)

She said too soon to comment on viability so booked me another scan in 2 weeks, when I will be 7 SmileSmileSmileSmileSmileSmile

Everything crossed for my bean to be a strong one with a wee heart

Mileymoocow · 16/06/2016 16:44

Yaaaaaaaay 2-1. Watching bloody England play is hard work.

potato that's brilliant news! Grin finally!

lauren just Google - wtf! The world has gone absolutely nuts.

ever that's brilliant news Smile it's lovely to know things are going swimmingly.

Suppose I'll walk the dog. Just ate a share bar of oreo dairy milk to myself while watching the match Blush

Mileymoocow · 16/06/2016 17:30

Think I'm joining the dreaded back ache clan... was hoping to get away without it for a little longer! Anyone else suffering at only 24 weeks??

Nevlet · 16/06/2016 17:49

GTT was okay actually potato my mum came with me as its her day off so I wasn't bored to death. Weather was lovely so we went and sat on the sea front- i am very lucky you can see the sea and beach from the two birth rooms at MLU it is that close! Amazing news on the mortgage Grin

shelbTa · 16/06/2016 17:49

Evening all

Great news ever!

No not back ache miley, just rib ache!

Can you believe that mp has died, very cruel world sometimes.

X

Laurenrl · 16/06/2016 17:54

She was a mother of a 3 and 5 year old too, those poor kids will grow up without their mummy. So sad! Its like a US story nothing you'd expect here in a village in Yorkshire!

Laurenrl · 16/06/2016 17:55

Miley, I have a bad back too at 25 weeks, I think I need a new mattress!

leoniethelioness · 16/06/2016 18:14

Congratulations, Ever and Potato!!

IrregularCommentary · 16/06/2016 18:15

Stunned at the news. That poor woman, her poor family.

IrregularCommentary · 16/06/2016 18:17

With you on backache Miley. Was really uncomfortable with it late morning today.

Eased off a bit after I'd had a poo, so apparently that's a thing now...

Canters15 · 16/06/2016 18:22

Fab news potato ! Bet you're relieved. And brilliant news for you too ever.

bunch I doubt you'd catch anything as most of these bugs are transmitted by the ahem faecal-oral route so everyone needs to scrub their hands. But quite frankly who would want to be in someone else's house when they had d&v?! Weirdness.

Mileymoocow · 16/06/2016 18:39

I know, I've just read she died. I can't believe it, so surreal for it to happen in England. Her poor children, it's devastating.

lauren we just got a new bed and mattress so I can't even blame that. I'm blaming my enormous nipples and squishy E cups as well as my ever growing bump.

irregular I wish mine was eased by pooing! Laughing at your 'so apparently that's a thing now' 😂

Steak and chicken skewers with sweet potato wedges for tea, I'm looking forward to it which means I can actually face eating meat now! Except mince...

Evergreen17 · 16/06/2016 18:49

Sad news about the MP Sad what a world we live in.

Yes so I have a bean and we shall see what happens.

I am 5+0 but I have nada symptoms so enjoying that trying not to read into it Confused

I have a cold though Envy

Almost Friday. Grin

leoniethelioness · 16/06/2016 18:55

Feel really upset about Jo Cox. Just going about her day, doing her job. And I've read that, like me, she went to Cambridge and was the first in her family to graduate from university. Her poor husband and children.

In more trivial matters, I'm hiding from the slow worm my cats brought in (DH has promised to deal with it when he's home from work) and feeling fed up that I feel like I need to urinate whenever I'm standing up or walking. Is this baby pressing on the bladder? It doesn't happen sitting down and my urine was tested yesterday and nothing abnormal found.

DrWhy · 16/06/2016 19:03

Hi folks,

Just popping by again to say Hi, I hope all is going well for folks!

bunch haven't read back but definitely stay away with anyway with d&v! The whole reason we are banned from runny eggs is to avoid salmonella which would cause exactly that (no other harm to baby) - your immune system is lowered in pregnancy.

My update, I saw Raspberry again yesterday Smile although now he's more of a melon! I had an extra 28 week growth scan as apparently because of the fibroid they can't get an accurate growth measurement from the bump (might be fibroid growing or shrinking instead). All good news, baby is on roughly 55th % for measurements and seems to be squashing the fibroid rather than the other way around. The fibroid is also still well out of the way so birth at the midwife led unit should be an option although they still aren't hugely keen on a home birth. Apparently low BP, uncooperative veins and an elevated risk of bleeding isn't the midwife's ideal! Only problem with that is only 1 pool for our whole city currently available and alternative local midwife led unit with several pools has just closed due to lack of staff so the competition will be fierce!

In other news, my flat is sold - hurrah! although for rather less than I'd like and I've just booked what I hope will be the final set of removals that I see for at least a few years. On the flip side my mums house sale has fallen through and she's hugely stressed and upset and the redundancy stuff at work looks worse daily.

So ups and downs as ever! I've finally bought something for the baby, we have a Chico next to me co-sleeping cot Grin I have also been given/loaned a pram and have decided on the buggy for after that. Some blankets are waiting for collection at the post office.

At this rate baby might just manage to get some clothes as well before making an appearance!

I hope things are going well for everyone

DrWhy · 16/06/2016 19:06

Evergreen shh... Don't tell the folks who got really sick but I had pretty much no symptoms other than early stomach cramps and vague bloating until I had a bump!
No funny tastes, sickness, extra weeing or anything else! It did mean I worried so much I had a private early scan but I still think it's better than the sickness option Smile

Sodasoda · 16/06/2016 19:25

Yes, really horrible news today.

irregular I'm a Newcastle fan. We tend to hate most players. Including our own after last seasons performance! Grin

Great news ever! I'm not trying to reassure / scare you but I don't think symptoms tend to kick in til 6 weeks...! At least they didn't with me!

leonie I'm exactly like that - feels like a lot of pressure on bladder when I'm walking around but fine when I'm not on my feet. Think it must be baby getting comfy low down!
