Thread #7 - TTC#1 Grads - Third Trimester Special

PotatosMum · 01/06/2016 12:38

It's time for another TTC#1 grads thread, with an ever increasing population of new arrivals, old hands and veterans we're moving thick and fast.

The first TTC#1 veterans are waddling their way into the third trimester this thread, with the promise of maternity leave to come, getting them through the day.

No subject is taboo, no TMI is too much, bump pictures, baby scans and photos of cute baby stuff are encouraged.

All are welcome so take your place on team blue, pink or vanilla for another TTC#1 grads thread!

That's ok Feef seems like lots of us are feeling a bit sorry for ourselves.

How many weeks are you at the moment?

BunchOfBobs · 14/06/2016 11:36

Potato so sorry you have such a shitty mortgage advisor, glad the tears came to something positive though, she has actually contacted them now. I'm glad I have good company in this crazy hormonal whirlwind.

Had my 31 week appointment with the midwife today. First thing she asked "how are you feeling" and I burst into tears. Sigh. She wants me to go to the GP for anti depressants but I refused point blank. She made me promise of it continues/gets worse or I start to feel disjointed from the pregnancy I'll go speak to them. I reinforced I'm so excited about the baby so that made her feel a little better. Seems to be a slight overreaction though don't you think? One bout of tears and throw the meds at me?

Feefs seems to be a bad week for all of us. I hope you feel better soon.

Canters15 · 14/06/2016 11:53

Sorry you're feeling rubbish bunch. Do you know why you're a bit down? I think there's so much awareness of depression around pregnancy now that hcps have a heightened response to it. I had a similar experience today at my midwife appointment. I confessed my severe birth phobia and got very upset. Ive been referred for counselling and to the birth choices clinic to discuss C section, but she asked several times if I would like to see gp for antidepressants. I've got myself into a bit of a mess but don't think I'm there yet. Anyway hugs and hope we both feel brighter soon.

I haven't read back but my other news is we've found a lovely house to rent and will be moving in 3 weeks. Hopefully the new house will be the start of new beginnings and feeling a bit better about the pregnancy.

Canters15 · 14/06/2016 11:54

Sorry you're having a crap day too feef

BunchOfBobs · 14/06/2016 12:08

Canters if you're birth phobic or scared of options etc I can highly recommend hypnobirthing. Even if you just read a book. It has gotten rid of all of my fears so it may ease some of yours. Sorry you too are having s rough time.
No one thing is causing it but my pain isn't helping, I can't do anything (Hoover /food shopping etc) because it hurts or it will make pain worse. Because of my wonderful industry I haven't worked since Christmas, I live in a very rural area with no friends nearby so I'm literally at home all day just me, the bump and the dog. I can't even walk the dog any more because of the difficulty walking. On top of all that I'm ridiculously hormonal- I.e crying because DH turned the tv on Hmm, very moody and because I can't go anything I want in the house as soon as he comes home he gets nagged to do it all.
I'm just very frustrated, fed up and lonely. I've been feeling quite bad about it all for the last week but it's got worse since we got the date of dads op last Friday.

I'll be fine I'm sure. I've had depression in the past and managed without meds then. Fx this is just me feeling down rather than depressed .

PotatosMum · 14/06/2016 12:09

Bunch, Canters throwing anti-d's at you sounds like a massive over reaction. We've all got so many hormones coursing through our bodies it's no wonder we're a bit stressed and down. Not to mention the fact that we're all waiting for a pretty epic life changing event. I don't know about anyone else but right now whenever I feel any pressure or punching "down below" I immediately think OMG are my waters about to go Shock it doesn't really make for a very chilled out person Hmm

I find that I have a point, up to that point I'm fine, after that point I deal with stress by crying. It's probably that or killing someone Confused I have now reached that point and I refuse to deal with any additional stress, instead I will just cry at things that annoy, upset or stress me and God help anyone who has a problem with that Hmm
I have also just had a very large bar of chocolate and may be having a sugar high Blush

Canters15 · 14/06/2016 14:12

Being stuck at home in pain for a prolonged time sounds enough to make anyone crack, bunch. And if you're anything like me it all builds up then spills out the minute someone nice asks how you are.

I will try and have a look at the hypnobirthing, I think my issue is I know exactly what can go wrong and find a lot of these things intolerable to even think about. Urgghhhhh.

Feefeefs · 14/06/2016 14:13

14 weeks now potatoes. I may have just had a brownie!

Sorry that your also having a bad day canters and bunch anti-depressants do seem a bit drastic still good that they are taking your mental health and mood seriously.

Mileymoocow · 14/06/2016 15:11

bunch I agree, I'd be an absolute basket case if I was going through what you are. I think you're coping tremendously! Anti depressants are a big overreaction. I hate it when meds are over prescribed especially when they can sometimes make things worse.

potato I like your style. Hope you can manage a few more bouts of tears and hopefully this mortgage will fly through

maya the nursery was painted a couple of months ago, we've only just managed to get round to putting up the stickers.

Thanks to everyone for the lovely nursery comments! Smile

Just bumped into an old schoolmate who is due her 2nd at the end of July. She's going in for a c section at the end of the month as her baby is already over 7lb!!! Her 1st was 10lb natural birth and had to be forceps delivered. She's so slim and petite too.

indi that dress is beyond cute! I sometimes do think it'd be easier to find out our flavour for purchases like that

BunchOfBobs · 14/06/2016 16:12

I can't stop crying today it's ridiculous. Cried on the phone to dad this morning, cried on the midwife, cried telling DH about it all, cried on the phone to mum and now to MIL. And just to top it off MIL tells me "we will help as much as you want us when your dad has his op (the 1st Sept) but we have to leave on the 5th". Oh so 4 days of help out of the 14 then. This is because it's one of the other grandsons 6th birthday...... And they go on holiday on the 13th so they need to be home for the 6th his birthday then his party is the 10th and they fly on the 13th. We had literally just had the discussion of how down I'm feeling about it all and how it's such bad timing with the op and if he worst happens and I get induced on the 27th (14 days over) then I may not give birth until the 1st and she lands that one on me.

Again I'm being self absorbed and ridiculous but really, could you not have told me another day?!

Rant over. Sorry. I go to hypno tonight, I'm sure that'll sort me out. Sorry for my selfish rantings again .

Co5mo · 14/06/2016 16:24

Just a quick one before I head off on holiday. Baby wasn't shy today...team blue!

shelbTa · 14/06/2016 17:53

Afternoon all

Awww bunch, virtual hug. Fuck the anti d's for now - id be feeling exactly the same as you what with your family, perils of oil industry, pain and your rural location all topped off which a load of hormones!!! Without meaning to sound patronising - are you going to go to any antenatal classes? There will be some ladies in the same boat there and will get you out and about? I know I'm going to have to force myself to do stuff like that to try and stave off the depression.

If it makes you feel any less alone in the drying department - a song came on in the car the other day and I burst into tears!!! Idiot.

Mortgage flowers for you potato Flowers

Congrats Cosmo!

X

Danni89 · 14/06/2016 18:17

Hugs to all those having a bad week, let's hope the rest of the week improves for us all.

I'm an hormonal wreck today too, you know when your just so frustrated you cry.

Congrats on the boy Cosmo and enjoy your hols

Pinklily1 · 14/06/2016 18:54

Lauren, I can't believe people reprimanded you for eating coco pops!! What on earth would they have said if you'd had a bottle of Wkd and a cigarette? Shock I do hate it how people think they are entitled to share random unsolicited opinions/ criticisms with pregnant ladies.

Bunch, sorry to hear you are feeling down. Are you feeling any better now? How did the midwife appointment go? Still loving your Instagram fruit and veg pics Smile

Potato, I'd be fuming at your mortgage advisor saying she didn't have time to respond. It's also unprofessional of her to be saying that she wouldn't take on another case like yours.

Lisa, we are going on holiday this weekend, a 4.5 hour flight. I'll be almost 30 weeks when we fly out and 31 weeks when we fly back. I'm fine with it, no concerns other than that I think my back might be a bit sore. I do have to get a note from my doctor confirming I'm fit to fly (airline requirement over 28 weeks), which I'm assuming the doctor will give me given its been a straightforward pregnancy. The midwife told me I have to take my maternity notes with me, just in case, which is fine too. Her only other comment was to go and enjoy it!

Getting travel insurance was easy enough, covers me up to 32 weeks. Otherwise I have no concerns and on my view you should go for it - a last opportunity for a relaxing holiday before baby arrives!

Pinklily1 · 14/06/2016 18:56

Just noticed you fancy the Balkans Lisa. We are going to Cyprus, so perhaps slightly more 'developed', and we are close to a big city, but I would happily have gone to Balkans too. I would have drawn the line at trekking in Nepal or something, but otherwise I'm fairly relaxed about going places!

Pinklily1 · 14/06/2016 19:05

Must try to catch up on entire thread before posting rather than posting a flurry of messages as I catch up! Sorry ladies.

Bunch, CakeFlowers for you. I also think you are doing brilliantly given your rural location and work position. Shelb is right about antenatal classes - they would get you out of the house and it would be an opportunity to meet other new mum's to be. Might be worth seeing if your hospital offer any?

Canters, it's good that an elective c section is an option; you want the least stressful thing for you.

Cosmo, congrats on Team Blue!

Feefs, sorry to hear you are feeling unwell again. Does the brownie mean you felt better this afternoon? Hope so.

leoniethelioness · 14/06/2016 21:09

Congratulations, Cosmo! 💙💙💙💙💙💙💙💙

Baby's mattress arrived today. Yay for Tesco Clubcard vouchers - didn't pay a penny for it! Can't wait to set up the nursery. Need to move the double bed and order the curtains and rug I've chosen first. Very good excited.

One of my cats was sick on my duvet cover today... I'd like to curl up in bed but the bedding is in the tumblr dryer and I'm too lazy to dig out the spare set. At least it wasn't the new carpet.

25 weeks tomorrow!

Sorry to hear so many of you have been struggling today. I hope you start to feel better and brighter, and that tomorrow is a happier day. Have some tea and chocolate 🍰🍩🍫☕🍵

leoniethelioness · 14/06/2016 21:10

Not sure why it says "very good excited" up there... or tumblr dryer. Texting fail.

PotatosMum · 14/06/2016 21:13

Miley don't worry about ranting at all. We're all here to support each other and stop each other going mental Smile
You're dealing with a lot and sometimes you just have to vent and cry yourself out and get it out of your system.

Co5mo congrats on team blue.

Blue and Pink are now level pegging! Shock

I have been banished to the bedroom so that OH can have a band practice with one of our friends so I'm eating biscuits in retaliation... Ok, I'm eating biscuits because I wanted biscuits.

Absolutely dreading the wait for a mortgage update tomorrow. I just know our case will be the last one they look at Hmm every one please keep your fingers crossed that we get the offer... And if your baby has fingers kindly ask him/her to cross them too! Wink I apologise in advance for the hundreds of mortgage related frustration posts tomorrow.

Hope this isn't insensitive but what happened to the poster from the TTC thread (choc??) who had some children already and wasn't sure of her dates but was pregnant, just not as far along as age thought? Sorry if this is a bit vague...

I'm keeping my fingers crossed for you, Potato!

PotatosMum · 14/06/2016 21:30

Leonie choc stopped posting on this thread but she I saw her posting elsewhere for a while.

OP posts:
Pinklily1 · 14/06/2016 21:31

Leonie, I remember her, think it was Choc. Not sure what happened. A few people did move over to this thread but then haven't posted for a long time.

Mileymoocow · 14/06/2016 21:40

leonie she came over at the same time as me. Bizarre case! But as others have said she hasn't posted in a long time. Hope she's doing well though! Also laughing that I didn't even notice your typos.

potato thanks for the support but I think you may mean bunch Wink oooooo biscuits. What kind? I'm all about a jaffa cake at the moment. Hope to god you get some decent news tomorrow.

Went to mother care new parent event tonight, some good bargains to be had for anyone going. They also did a refreshments area and had toffee butterkist popcorn which I did not know I needed in my life until tonight. I must remember to bulk buy it tomorrow. We're now completely sorted for baby, just need to go back with my dad to purchase car seat at his insistence he buys it. I also need to put together a list for my hospital bag but I did buy nipple cream! Grin think I'll try it on my itchy nubs tonight. I'm all of the sexy...

leoniethelioness · 14/06/2016 22:00

Which one did you buy, miley? My mum friend said to get Lansinoh. She sent me a list of must buy baby items.

Mileymoocow · 14/06/2016 22:09

It's from mothercares own range alled 'it's your body'. They're not itchy and sore any more so that's a bonus. Oo please share your list! I do love a good list, I'm hopeless at putting my own together
