Thread #7 - TTC#1 Grads - Third Trimester Special

PotatosMum · 01/06/2016 12:38

It's time for another TTC#1 grads thread, with an ever increasing population of new arrivals, old hands and veterans we're moving thick and fast.

The first TTC#1 veterans are waddling their way into the third trimester this thread, with the promise of maternity leave to come, getting them through the day.

No subject is taboo, no TMI is too much, bump pictures, baby scans and photos of cute baby stuff are encouraged.

All are welcome so take your place on team blue, pink or vanilla for another TTC#1 grads thread!

Ah amazing bunch I bet that feels great, I'm so lucky my office has Air con I was so hot walking to waitrose at lunch.

I think I may have just had some braxton hicks... My whole stomach went tense and then relaxed and it felt really weird. I thought the baby had rolled over but if it's that she is gonna be a gymnast as it happened about 8 times in 10 mins, what do you all reckon?

BunchOfBobs · 09/06/2016 15:24

It feels much better Lauren. Sounds like BH to me. I find them uncomfortable. Worst is when I'm driving and it kicks in or middle of the night when it wakes me up. Like last night.

IndiX · 09/06/2016 16:04

Hi ladies!
I'm back from my holidays now, had a lovely time but was glad to see my pups.

Lara congrats on team blue! Lovely news and surely team blue is catching up to pink now.
Ever your post made me smile, haven't seen a pissy stick for a while and it's so lovely that it was unexpected. I think we may have been on the TTC thread at the same time but I'm now 22+1 with a baby girl called Beanie. Ask all the crazy questions you want here, I know I did when I first arrived.

Sugar-wise I've always had more of a sweet tooth, went over to salty when I first got pregnant and now seem to NEED sugar in the afternoons or I feel knackered. Also beanie has taken a liking to ice cream (which I had everyday on holiday) so may need to keep that one going.

Hope you're all well, will try to have a proper catch up now

shelbTa · 09/06/2016 16:12

Hi ladies

Welcome ever and congrats!

fx for mortgage potato.

Miley - I'm all about the ice cream too, I never use to eat it before.

Bunch - Jesus I want a fish finger butty now!!

Sorry if missed any other big news. Flat out today but did have midwife appointment -baby measuring 29weeks when I'm 28+3 so only a bit ahead. Anyone else been measured?

Christ it's hot.

X

PotatosMum · 09/06/2016 17:08

Bunch haha glad you got a solution to the heat sorted.

Lauren sounds like braxton hicks. Mine are also quite uncomfortable and not something I enjoy Hmm

Shelb I'm measuring about 2.5 weeks ahead but that's fairly normal if you have fibroids. I think anything under 2 weeks ahead is normal.

Currently at FILs and it is hotter than hell. Making me feel quite sick Sad

I have rain. Wooohooooo finally after about 3 weeks I have lovely normal Welsh wetness and I'm not currently feeling like this baby is doing an impression of boil in the bag rice. It smells so odd.

Feefeefs · 09/06/2016 18:07

Glad it's not just me dying in this heat! Thought the sickness was gone but it's back with a vengeance in the heat. Very narky and snappy too! DH is snappy as well which is not really like him! But good god is it annoying.

leoniethelioness · 09/06/2016 18:32

Making salmon fish fingers later from the Hairy Dieters' book. No white bread in the house for a sandwich though!

leoniethelioness · 09/06/2016 18:33

My Gro Egg thermometer says it's 24.2 with a fan on and all the windows open...

Evergreen17 · 09/06/2016 18:43

Potato could you add me please (love the nickname)
What is the 30+5? Weeks+days? Blush newbie
Leonie I have been learning to drive for a few months, I have my test in August. Nerves.
Thanks for all the welcomes GrinGrinSmile
I am still in shock and just trying not to get too excited just in case.... Sad I keep checking if period has arrived Confused
Thanks for the book recommendations, I bought 3! Smile
Miley 22 already. GrinFlowersFlowers**
Exciting!! I am a baby here!
Potato I can't stand the baby dust stuff Grin. I do remember you as runner Smile
Indi we definitely were on that thread together Smile Glad to hear all well with you and your girl

BunchOfBobs · 09/06/2016 18:47

Ahh the good ol' knicker check Ever. It does eventually stop but it takes awhile.
Do not panic if you start to get period pains, they're completely normal at the beginning. Quite a few of us had spotting too, also normal but always worth a check with the midwife if it happens.

30+5 is 30 weeks plus 5 days pregnant. Grin you'll get used to all the new terminology.

LisaTheSimpson · 09/06/2016 19:13

I'm 23+3 and I STILL knicker check! Blush

I know I should probably stop now, but it's become more of a habit than anything.

Such a gorgeous evening here in London. Might sit outside with a Becks Blue shandy (thanks Bunch!) and enjoy the day cooling down.

BunchOfBobs · 09/06/2016 19:30

Enjoy Lisa, 'twas a great discovery when I made it. Smile I'm enjoying the coolness the rain has brought. I still have all windows and doors open but I can breathe. I made up a bath of decaff iced chai and iced tea. So I'm enjoying that right now whilst watching Hunger Games- Catching fire and the dog is going mental chasing flies around the room.

PotatosMum · 09/06/2016 20:11

Bunch I want rain too! Where's my rain?

Ever all added Smile
As others have said 30+5 = 30 weeks and 5 days. And most of us went through the, expecting period to show up, keep doing tests just in case, phase. It will pass Smile

OH has just agreed that if we manage to sort the mortgage and get our house I can have a actual real live Christmas tree this year! Now I must succeed!!!

Thank you SO MUCH bunch and potato. So glad you mentioned spotting and cramping because
I went out for dinner and I have been worrying silly Sad because I went for a wee and I had some brown CM and I had some (very light) 2 days ago but also I feel very mild cramping, not pain but as if my period is to come and I feel heavy there.
So worried something is wrong Sad
But then I cant worry for 9 months can I?
So you say some ladies here had some spotting too?
And ..... Breathe.
I called the gP and they booked me to see the midwife in a couple of week Smile
I am gonna spend ridiculous money of FRERs if I keep testing!! GrinGrin

BunchOfBobs · 09/06/2016 22:19

Ever if it's brown it's old blood so all good. Also you Can get Implantation bleeding from when the placenta attaches (I think), in a few weeks time in your case. My spotting was related to when I should have come on around 8 weeks. My cramping got quite bad between weeks 7-9 and I ended up needing paracetamol. It's just your uterus stretching. But then it all eased off to be later replaced by the bastard that is round ligament pain.
If your weren't aware pregnancy is proper glamorous and not at all painful or a PITA read complete opposite Wink

Erm afraid to say you certainly can worry for the next 9 months Grin but nothing is quite as worrying as the first few weeks when you think it can't be real.

Internet cheapies all the way now, no need for early resposers any more Wink

Laurenrl · 09/06/2016 22:31

ever such a worrying time just make sure you look after yourself & eat everything you like now in case you get sickness soon & I'm afraid to say I'm still worrying now, but it's so worth it. I imagine it only gets worse when theres a baby here to worry about too!

Evergreen17 · 09/06/2016 22:39

Thanks for that post bunch , I feel quite relieved now (for 5 minutes? Hmm)
Round ligament pain? BlushConfusedHmmwhat is this? Do I want to know?

The spotting/CM Is brown for sure, but I might start going for wees with a pantone chart.... Not obsessive at all me...
Thanks Lauren Smileso far no symptoms whatsoever apart from nipples of fire...

Evergreen17 · 09/06/2016 22:40

Oh yes! i have like 4 cheapies I can use!

BunchOfBobs · 09/06/2016 23:04

Haha ever! Welcome to the world of obsessing, though I think you would be the first with the Pantone chart Wink
Round ligament pain affects the round ligament which supports your uterus. Basically you get really sharp stabby pains particularly when sneezing or coughing. It doesn't kick in until about week 15 though and it isn't constant. I made DH laugh every time I sneezed as instead of "achoo" I shouted "fuck" with the sneeze. It helps to bend into it or hold the area and not take too many sudden movements once it starts.
Don't worry, it's not as awful as it sounds.it lasts like a millisecond and it's all worth it Grin
As Lauren said eat everything you like now (that isn't on the ban list) incase morning sickness kicks in for you.

Pinklily1 · 10/06/2016 06:14

Morning!

So much chat yesterday, I don't have a hope of catching up!

Good luck for your scans today ladies!

Miley, my morning sickness stopped at 16 weeks but I was still sick on and off then until about 23 weeks but it's stopped now. I still get dizzy though Hmm

I've got the day off today and typically it's bloody raining after a few days of glorious sunshine Angry

Co5mo · 10/06/2016 06:42

Yay Ever. Good to see you got your bfp. Is a whole new world from here on in.

Now Becks Blue used to taste like something was missing but now, it's a bit of an elixir. It's gone from a why would you bother to pass me a cold one.

Horrific nights sleep, or more correctly nights wake. Far too warm. Pleased we've got aircon next week when we go to Italy. On the plus side, I finished knitting a present for my friends baby who we are patiently waiting on.

Evergreen17 · 10/06/2016 07:10

Hi Co5mo Smile
Ahhh lots of us here! Smile
What a lovely stuffed toy
I am going to wait a little and then I will start making a blanket. I designed and made one for my friend like an activity blanket of the UK woodland creatures Smile
It took months but so nice. Then I flew to the states and gave it to her.
I also have a easy pattern for "ugg booties" if you guys want it
I will show a pic tonight (in bed, another night of nada sleep)

I might or might not have taken another FRER Blush and the line is getting a wee bit darker but still not as dark as the other one.

Blush dont laugh at the paranoia of the newbie Blush

Guys you tell tales of sickness and pain, tell more Grin

Pinklily1 · 10/06/2016 07:11

That's brilliant Cosmo!

Shelb, I got measured at my 28 week appointment and she said I was bang on where j should be. She also prodded around to check baby's position - head down thankfully! I think they check both of those things at every appointment from now on.

Evergreen17 · 10/06/2016 07:12

Ah!! It looks like OH is getting excited now (rare). Something along the lines of "I guess we would need to buy a new family car" Hmm
